Correct robust mutex / PI futex kernel assumptions (bug 9894).
This patch continues fixing __ASSUME_* issues in preparation for
moving to a 2.6.32 minimum kernel version by addressing assumptions on
robust mutex and PI futex support availability. Those assumptions are
bug 9894, but to be clear this patch does not address all the issues
from that bug about wrong version assumptions, only those still
applicable for --enable-kernel=2.6.32 or later (with the expectation
that the move to that minimum kernel will obsolete the other parts of
the bug). The patch is independent of
<https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2014-03/msg00585.html>, my other
pending-review patch preparing for the kernel version change; the two
together complete all the changes I believe are needed in preparation
regarding any macro in sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/kernel-features.h that
would be affected by such a change. (I have not checked the
correctness of macros whose conditions are unaffected by such a
change, or macros only defined in other kernel-features.h files.)
As discussed in that bug, robust mutexes and PI futexes need
futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic to be implemented, in addition to
certain syscalls needed for robust mutexes (and
architecture-independent kernel pieces for all the features in
question). That is, as I understand it, they need
futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic to *work* (not return an ENOSYS error).
The issues identified in my analysis relate to ARM, M68K, MicroBlaze,
MIPS and SPARC.
On ARM, whether futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic works depends on the
kernel configuration. As of 3.13, the condition for *not* working is
CONFIG_CPU_USE_DOMAINS && CONFIG_SMP. As of 2.6.32 it was simply
CONFIG_SMP that meant the feature was not implemented. I don't know
if there are any circumstances in which we can say "we can assume a
userspace glibc binary built with these options will never run on a
kernel with the problematic configuration", but at least for now I'm
just undefining the relevant __ASSUME_* macros for ARM.
On M68K, two of the three macros are undefined for kernels before
3.10, but as far as I can see __ASSUME_FUTEX_LOCK_PI is in the same
group needing futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic support and so should be
undefined as well.
On MicroBlaze the required support was added in 2.6.33.
On MIPS, the support depends on cpu_has_llsc in the kernel - that is,
actual hardware LL/SC support (GCC and glibc for MIPS GNU/Linux rely
on the instructions being supported in some way, but it may be kernel
emulation; futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic doesn't work with that
emulation). The same condition as in GCC for indicating LL/SC support
may not be available is used for undefining the macros in glibc,
__mips == 1 || defined _MIPS_ARCH_R5900. (Maybe we could in fact
desupport MIPS processors without the hardware support in glibc.)
On SPARC, 32-bit kernels don't support futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic;
__arch64__ || __sparc_v9__ is used as the condition for binaries that
won't run on 32-bit kernels.
This patch is not tested beyond the sanity check of an x86_64 build.

Reduce kernel-features.h duplication.
This patch reduces duplication between different architectures'
kernel-features.h files by making the architecture-independent file
define various macros unconditionally (instead of only for a
particular list of architectures), with the architecture-specific
files then undefining the macros if necessary.
Specifically, __ASSUME_O_CLOEXEC (O_CLOEXEC flag to open) and
__ASSUME_SOCK_CLOEXEC (SOCK_NONBLOCK and SOCK_CLOEXEC flags to socket)
are supported on all architectures as of 2.6.32 or the minimum kernel
version for the architecture if later. For __ASSUME_IN_NONBLOCK,
__ASSUME_PIPE2, __ASSUME_EVENTFD2, __ASSUME_SIGNALFD4 and
__ASSUME_DUP3, the relevant syscalls were added for alpha in 2.6.33
but otherwise the features are available as of 2.6.32. For
__ASSUME_UTIMES, support is everywhere in 2.6.32 except for
asm-generic architectures and hppa.
Although those were the main cases of duplication among
kernel-features.h files, some other cases of unnecessary definitions
were also cleaned up: the hppa file defined various macros that were
either no longer used at all, or defined by the main file by default
anyway, the ia64 file had duplicative definitions of __ASSUME_PSELECT
and __ASSUME_PPOLL, while mips had such a definition of
__ASSUME_IPC64.
Really, rather than being defined in the main file then undefined for
asm-generic architectures, __ASSUME_UTIMES should become an
hppa-specific macro. Given that __ASSUME_ATFCTS and
__ASSUME_UTIMENSAT are now always true, the only live __ASSUME_UTIMES
conditional is in sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/utimes.c, which is not used
for asm-generic architectures. I think the desired state would be an
hppa-specific file (that includes sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/utimes.c if
__ASSUME_UTIMES, and otherwise has fallback code), with the fallback
code being removed from the main utimes.c. But I think that's most
reasonably a separate cleanup once __ASSUME_ATFCTS and
__ASSUME_UTIMESAT have both had conditional code cleaned up.
Given this patch, I think it's straightforward to move non-ex-ports
architectures to having their own kernel-features.h files, like
ex-ports architectures, rather than conditionals in the main file
(i.e., such a move won't require the architecture-specific file to
contain anything that isn't genuinely architecture-specific), and
would encourage architecture maintainers to do so.
Tested x86_64 that the installed shared libraries are unchanged by
this patch. Note that on some architectures this *will* cause
__ASSUME_* macros to be defined in cases where they weren't previously
but should have been (but this is just optimization, not a fix to a
user-visible bug, so doesn't need a bug report in Bugzilla).

Simplify accept4, recvmmsg, sendmmsg code.
The accept4, recvmmsg and sendmmsg functions had macros
__ASSUME_*_SYSCALL_WITH_SOCKETCALL. Before we could assume kernels
with the relevant functionality, these macros represented the
conditions under which, on a socketcall architecture, glibc could just
call the syscall unconditionally and not have to deal with socketcall
at all for those functions, because if the syscall didn't work for
them the socketcall call wouldn't either.
Now we can assume kernels with the relevant functionality, the only
question is whether we can assume the syscall is present; if not, we
are on a socketcall architecture and just use socketcall instead.
Thus, this patch removes the macros that are no longer necessary, and
simplifies the code for accept4, recvmmsg and sendmmsg to use the same
logic as the other C implementations of socket functions that may use
a syscall or socketcall depending on kernel support.

Add __ASSUME_DIRECT_SYSVIPC_SYSCALL for Linux
On current minimum supported kernels, the SysV IPC on Linux is provided
by either the ipc syscalls or correspondent wire syscalls. Also, for
architectures that supports wire syscalls all syscalls are supported
in a set (msgct, msgrcv, msgsnd, msgget, semctl, semget, semop, semtimedop,
shmctl, shmat, shmget, shmdt).
The architectures that only supports ipc syscall are:
- i386, m68k, microblaze, mips32, powerpc (powerpc32, powerpc64, and
powerpc64le), s390 (32 and 64 bits), sh, sparc32, and sparc64.
And the architectures that only supports wired syscalls are:
- aarch64, alpha, hppa, ia64, mips64, mips64n32, nios2, tile
(tilepro, tilegx, and tilegx64), and x86_64
Also arm is the only one that supports both wire syscalls and the
ipc, although the ipc one is deprecated.
This patch adds a new define, __ASSUME_DIRECT_SYSVIPC_SYSCALL, that wired
syscalls are supported on the system and the general idea is to use
it where possible.
I also checked the syscall table for all architectures on Linux 4.9
and there is no change on described support for Linux 2.6.32/3.2.

posix: Implement preadv2 and pwritev2
This patch adds support of preadv2 and pwritev2 which are similar to
preadv/pwritev but with an extra flag argument. As for preadv/pwritev
both interfaces are added a non-standard GNU API.
For default 'posix' implementation trying to emulate the Linux supported
flags is troublesome:
* We can not temporary change the file state of the O_DSYNC and O_SYNC
flags to emulate RWF_{D}SYNC (attempts to change the state of using
fcntl are silently ignored).
* IOCB_HIPRI requires the file opened in O_DIRECT and uses an internal
semantic not provided by any other flag (O_NONBLOCK for instance).
So default sysdeps/posix implementations fails with EOPNOTSUPP for any non
supported flag (which are none currently) calls generic preadv/pwritev.
Basically this implementation supports only preadv2 called as preadv (with
flags sets to 0).
The Linux one uses the preadv2/pwritev2 syscall if defined, otherwise it
call preadv/writev. Instead of using the previous __ASSUME_* to
unconditionally issue the syscall (and avoid building the fallback routine),
it call pread/write if the preadv2/pwritev2 syscalls fails. The idea
is just avoid adding another __ASSUME_* and checking each architecture
on every kernel bump and simplify code conditionals.

sysvipc: Set ipc_perm mode as mode_t (BZ#18231)
This patch sets the mode field in ipc_perm as mode_t for all architectures,
as POSIX specification [1]. The changes required are as follow:
1. It moves the ipc_perm definition out of ipc.h to its own header
ipc_perm.h. It also allows consolidate the IPC_* definition on
only one header.
2. The generic implementation follow the kernel ipc64_perm size so the
syscall can be made directly without temporary buffer copy. However,
since glibc defines the MODE field as mode_t, it omits the __PAD1 field
(since glibc does not export mode_t as 16-bit for any architecture).
It is a two-fold improvement:
2.1. New implementation which follow Linux UAPI will not need to
provide an arch-specific ipc-perm.h header neither wrongly
use the wrong 16-bit definition from previous default ipc.h
(as csky did).
2.1. It allows consolidate ipc_perm definition for architectures that
already provide mode_t as 32-bit.
3. All kernel ABIs for the supported architectures already provides the
expected padding for mode type extension to 32-bit. However, some
architectures the padding has the wrong placement, so it requires
the ipc control routines (msgctl, semctl, and shmctl) to adjust the
mode field accordingly. Currently they are armeb, microblaze, m68k,
s390, and sheb.
A new assume is added, __ASSUME_SYSVIPC_BROKEN_MODE_T, which the
required ABIs define.
4. For the ABIs that define __ASSUME_SYSVIPC_BROKEN_MODE_T, it also
require compat symbols that do not adjust the mode field.
Checked on arm-linux-gnueabihf, aarch64-linux-gnu, powerpc64le-linux-gnu,
and x86_64-linux-gnu. I also checked the sysvipc tests on hppa-linux-gnu,
sh4-linux-gnu, s390x-linux-gnu, and s390-linux-gnu.
I also did a sanity test against armeb qemu usermode for the sysvipc
tests.

2. long int clone (unsigned long newsp, unsigned long clone_flags,

__NR_clone.

similar to kernel:

- __ASSUME_CLONE_BACKWARDS: for variant 1.
- __ASSUME_CLONE_BACKWARDS2: for variant 2 (s390).
- __ASSUME_CLONE_BACKWARDS3: for variant 3 (microblaze).
- __ASSUME_CLONE_DEFAULT: for variant 4.
- __ASSUME_CLONE2: for clone2 with variant 3 (ia64).

clock_gettime(64)

On architectures where time_t has historically been 64 bits,
only the 64-bit version of each system call exists, and there
are no suffixes on the __NR_ constants.
On architectures where time_t has historically been 32 bits,
both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of each system call may exist,
depending on the kernel version. When the 64-bit version exists,
there is a '64' or '_time64' suffix on the name of its __NR_
constant, as shown above.
This flag is always set for Linux 5.1 and later. Prior to that
version, it is set only for some CPU architectures and ABIs:
- __WORDSIZE == 64 - all supported architectures where pointers
are 64 bits also have always had 64-bit time_t.
- __WORDSIZE == 32 && __SYSCALL_WORDSIZE == 64 - this describes
only one supported configuration, x86's 'x32' subarchitecture,
where pointers are 32 bits but time_t has always been 64 bits.
__ASSUME_TIME64_SYSCALLS being set does not mean __TIMESIZE is 64,
and __TIMESIZE equal to 64 does not mean __ASSUME_TIME64_SYSCALLS
is set. All four cases are possible. */
