e5de3b5b72 Remove __ASSUME_SOCKETCALL.
The __ASSUME_SOCKETCALL macro in kernel-features.h is no longer used
for anything. (It used to be used in defining other macros related to
accept4 / recvmmsg / sendmmsg availability, but the code in that area
was simplified once we could assume a kernel with those features,
whether through a syscall or through socketcall, so allowing those
functions to be handled much like other socket operations, without
requring __ASSUME_SOCKETCALL.) This patch removes that unused macro.

(Note: once we can assume a Linux 4.4 or later kernel, much of the
support for using socketcall at all can be removed from glibc,
although a few functions may need that support in glibc for longer.)

Tested with build-many-glibcs.py.

daea71c2e4 Update and correct SPARC configuration for supported socket syscalls (bug 23848).
Looking at kernel-features.h files, I saw that SPARC was missing full
information on when it gained separate socket syscalls.

This patch adds such information to the SPARC kernel-features.h. It
also corrects what appear to be bugs in the existing code (that would
cause syscalls to be assumed to be present when not actually present).
Various __ASSUME_* macros, defined by default, were not undefined for
32-bit despite those syscalls only being added for 32-bit in Linux
4.4. Some syscalls were used in the SPARC64 syscalls.list but only
added in 4.4; this was harmless before the __NR_* macros were defined
at all, but once the macros were defined it means a build with
post-4.4 headers would assume the syscalls to be present regardless of
--enable-kernel version. Then, various __ASSUME_* macros were
previously not defined in cases where they could be defined (this part
of the patch is just an optimization, not a bug fix).

Note the observation in a comment in the patch that even the latest
Linux kernel for SPARC does not have getpeername and getsockname
syscalls in the compat syscall table for 32-bit binaries on 64-bit
kernels (so glibc can't assume those syscalls to be present for 32-bit
at all, although the 32-bit syscall table gained them in 4.4).

Tested (compilation only) for SPARC with build-many-glibcs.py.

d6da5cb6a8 Add renameat2 function [BZ #17662]
The implementation falls back to renameat if renameat2 is not available
in the kernel (or in the kernel headers) and the flags argument is zero.
Without kernel support, a non-zero argument returns EINVAL, not ENOSYS.
This mirrors what the kernel does for invalid renameat2 flags.

d39c0a459e sparc: Fix arch_fork definition
This patch fixes 3dc214977 for sparc. Different than other architectures
SPARC kernel Kconfig does not define CONFIG_CLONE_BACKWARDS, however it
has the same ABI as if it did, implemented by sparc-specific code
(sparc_do_fork).

It also has a unique return value convention for clone:

   Parent -->  %o0 == child's  pid, %o1 == 0
   Child  -->  %o0 == parent's pid, %o1 == 1

Which required a special macro to correct issue the syscall
(INLINE_CLONE_SYSCALL).

88499a87ce posix: Consolidate Linux pause syscall
This patch consolidates the pause Linux implementation on
sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/pause.c. If defined the pause syscall
(__NR_pause) will be used, other ppoll with 0 arguments will be
used instead.

It has the small advantage of generic pause implementation with
uses rt_sigprocmask plus rt_sigsuspend because it requires only
one syscall and the pause is done atomically regarding signal
handling (for instance, pause may not be interrupted if the
signal arrives between the rt_sigprocmask and rt_sigsuspend
syscall).

e3b0580d0d Simplify accept4, recvmmsg, sendmmsg code.
The accept4, recvmmsg and sendmmsg functions had macros
__ASSUME_*_SYSCALL_WITH_SOCKETCALL. Before we could assume kernels
with the relevant functionality, these macros represented the
conditions under which, on a socketcall architecture, glibc could just
call the syscall unconditionally and not have to deal with socketcall
at all for those functions, because if the syscall didn't work for
them the socketcall call wouldn't either.

Now we can assume kernels with the relevant functionality, the only
question is whether we can assume the syscall is present; if not, we
are on a socketcall architecture and just use socketcall instead.
Thus, this patch removes the macros that are no longer necessary, and
simplifies the code for accept4, recvmmsg and sendmmsg to use the same
logic as the other C implementations of socket functions that may use
a syscall or socketcall depending on kernel support.

Tested for x86_64 and x86.

63719cf1e3 Add __ASSUME_DIRECT_SYSVIPC_SYSCALL for Linux
On current minimum supported kernels, the SysV IPC on Linux is provided
by either the ipc syscalls or correspondent wire syscalls. Also, for
architectures that supports wire syscalls all syscalls are supported
in a set (msgct, msgrcv, msgsnd, msgget, semctl, semget, semop, semtimedop,
shmctl, shmat, shmget, shmdt).

The architectures that only supports ipc syscall are:

  - i386, m68k, microblaze, mips32, powerpc (powerpc32, powerpc64, and
    powerpc64le), s390 (32 and 64 bits), sh, sparc32, and sparc64.

And the architectures that only supports wired syscalls are:

  - aarch64, alpha, hppa, ia64, mips64, mips64n32, nios2, tile
(tilepro, tilegx, and tilegx64), and x86_64

Also arm is the only one that supports both wire syscalls and the
ipc, although the ipc one is deprecated.

This patch adds a new define, __ASSUME_DIRECT_SYSVIPC_SYSCALL, that wired
syscalls are supported on the system and the general idea is to use
it where possible.

I also checked the syscall table for all architectures on Linux 4.9
and there is no change on described support for Linux 2.6.32/3.2.

	* sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/kernel-features.h

f5c77f78ec Remove __ASSUME_FUTEX_LOCK_PI
This patch removes __ASSUME_FUTEX_LOCK_PI usage and assumes that
kernel will correctly return if it supports or not
futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic.

Current PI mutex code already has runtime support by calling
prio_inherit_missing and returns ENOTSUP if the futex operation fails
at initialization (it issues a FUTEX_UNLOCK_PI futex operation).

Also, current minimum supported kernel (v3.2) will return ENOSYS if
futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic is not supported in the system:

kernel/futex.c:

2628 long do_futex(u32 __user *uaddr, int op, u32 val, ktime_t *timeout,
2629 u32 __user *uaddr2, u32 val2, u32 val3)
2630 {
2631         int ret = -ENOSYS, cmd = op & FUTEX_CMD_MASK;
[...]
2667 case FUTEX_UNLOCK_PI:
2668 if (futex_cmpxchg_enabled)
2669                         ret = futex_unlock_pi(uaddr, flags);
[...]
2686         return ret;
2687 }

The futex_cmpxchg_enabled is initialized by calling cmpxchg_futex_value_locked,
which calls futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic.

For ARM futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic will be either defined (if both
CONFIG_CPU_USE_DOMAINS and CONFIG_SMP are not defined) or use the
default generic implementation that returns ENOSYS.

For m68k is uses the default generic implementation.

For mips futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic will return ENOSYS if cpu has no
'cpu_has_llsc' support (defined by each chip supporte inside kernel).

For sparc, 32-bit kernel will just use default generic implementation,
while 64-bit kernel has support.

Tested on ARM (v3.8 kernel) and x86_64.

35ade9f11b Adjust kernel-features.h defaults for socket syscalls.
This patch adjusts the defaults for kernel-features.h macros relating
to availability of accept4, recvmmsg and sendmmsg. It is not intended
to affect which macros end up getting defined in any configuration.

At present, all architectures with syscalls for those functions need
to define __ASSUME_*_SYSCALL macros; in particular, any new
architecture needs its own kernel-features.h file for that purpose,
though it may not otherwise need such a header. Those macros are then
used together with __ASSUME_SOCKETCALL to define macros for whether
the functions in question are available.

This patch changes the defaults so that the syscalls are assumed to be
available by default with recent-enough kernels, and it is the
responsibility of architecture headers to undefine the macros if they
are unavailable in supported kernels at least as recent as the version
where the architecture-independent functionality was introduced. The
__ASSUME_<function> macros are defaulted similarly instead of being
defined based on other macros (defining based on other macros would no
longer work because the #undefs appear after the generic header is
included), so where the syscall being unavailable means the function
is unavailable this means the architecture header has to undefine the
__ASSUME_<function> macro; this only affects __ASSUME_ACCEPT4 for
ia64, as other cases where the syscalls were added late enough to be
relevant with current kernel version requirements are all on
socketcall architectures.

As a consequence, the AArch64 and Nios II kernel-features.h header
files are removed, and others simplified. When the minimum kernel
version becomes 4.3 or later on all architectures, the syscalls in
question can just be assumed unconditionally, permitting further
simplification.

Tested for x86_64, x86 and powerpc (that installed shared libraries
are unchanged by the patch, and testsuite for x86_64 and x86).

ad1b6d85ba Remove kernel-features.h conditionals on pre-3.2 kernels.
This patch follows up on the increase in minimum kernel version by
removing conditionals in non-x86, non-x86_64 kernel-features.h headers
that are now constant for all supported kernel versions.
