e6e3c66688 crypt: Remove libcrypt support
All the crypt related functions, cryptographic algorithms, and
make requirements are removed, with only the exception of md5
implementation which is moved to locale folder since it is
required by localedef for integrity protection (libc's
locale-reading code does not check these, but localedef does
generate them).

Besides thec code itself, both internal documentation and the
manual is also adjusted. This allows to remove both --enable-crypt
and --enable-nss-crypt configure options.

Checked with a build for all affected ABIs.

ea89d5bbd9 localedef: Handle symbolic links when generating locale-archive
Whenever locale data for any locale included symbolic links, localedef
would throw the error "incomplete set of locale files" and exclude it

581c785bf3 Update copyright dates with scripts/update-copyrights
I used these shell commands:

../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright
(cd ../glibc && git commit -am"[this commit message]")

and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning:

I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h,
support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and
sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following
obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't
know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not.

cbab7f7268 localedef: check magic value on archive load [BZ #28650]
localedef currently blindly trust the archive header. When passed an
archive file with the wrong endianess, this leads to a segmentation
fault:

  $ localedef --big-endian --list-archive /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive
  Segmentation fault (core dumped)

When passed non-archive files, asserts are reported on the best case,
but sometimes it can lead to a segmentation fault:

  $ localedef --list-archive /bin/true
  localedef: programs/locarchive.c:1643: show_archive_content: Assertion `used < GET (head->namehash_used)' failed.
  Aborted (core dumped)

  $ localedef --list-archive /usr/lib/locale/C.utf8/LC_COLLATE
  Segmentation fault (core dumped)

This patch improves the user experience by looking at the magic value,
which is always written, but never checked. It should still be possible
to trigger a segmentation fault with crafted files, but this already
catch many cases.

30891f35fa Remove "Contributed by" lines
We stopped adding "Contributed by" or similar lines in sources in 2012
in favour of git logs and keeping the Contributors section of the
glibc manual up to date. Removing these lines makes the license
header a bit more consistent across files and also removes the
possibility of error in attribution when license blocks or files are
copied across since the contributed-by lines don't actually reflect
reality in those cases.

Move all "Contributed by" and similar lines (Written by, Test by,
etc.) into a new file CONTRIBUTED-BY to retain record of these
contributions. These contributors are also mentioned in
manual/contrib.texi, so we just maintain this additional record as a
courtesy to the earlier developers.

The following scripts were used to filter a list of files to edit in
place and to clean up the CONTRIBUTED-BY file respectively. These
were not added to the glibc sources because they're not expected to be
of any use in future given that this is a one time task:

f16491eb8e locale: Fix localedef exit code (Bug 22292)
The error and warning handling in localedef, locale, and iconv
is a bit of a mess.

We use ugly constructs like this:
      WITH_CUR_LOCALE (error (1, errno, gettext ("\
cannot read character map directory `%s'"), directory));

to issue errors, and read error_message_count directly from the
error API to detect errors. The problem with that is that the
code also uses error to print warnings, and informative messages.
All of this leads to problems where just having warnings will
produce an exit status as-if errors had been seen.

To fix this situation I have adopted the following high-level
changes:
* All errors are counted distinctly.
* All warnings are counted distinctly.
* All informative messages are not counted.
* Increasing verbosity cannot generate *more* errors, and
it previously did for errors conditional on verbose,
  this is now fixed.
* Increasing verbosity *can* generate *more* warnings.
* Making the output quiet cannot generate *fewer* errors,
and it previously did for errors conditional on be_quiet,
  this is now fixed.
* Each of error, warning, and informative message has it's
own function to call defined in record-status.h, and they
  are: record_error, record_warning, and record_verbose.
* The record_error function always records an error, but
conditional on be_quiet may not print it.
* The record_warning function always records a warning,
but conditional on be_quiet may not print it.
* The record_verbose function only prints the verbose
message if verbose is true and be_quiet is false.

This has allowed the following fix:
* Previously any warnings were being treated as errors
because they incremented error_message_count, but now
we properly return an exit status of 1 if there are
  warnings but output was generated.

All of this allows localedef to correctly decide if errors,
or warnings were present, and produce the correct exit code.

The locale and iconv programs now also use record-status.h
and we have removed the WITH_CUR_LOCALE hack, and instead
have internal push_locale/pop_locale functions centralized
in the record routines.

9090848d06 Narrowing the visibility of libc-internal.h even further.
posix/wordexp-test.c used libc-internal.h for PTR_ALIGN_DOWN; similar
to what was done with libc-diag.h, I have split the definitions of
cast_to_integer, ALIGN_UP, ALIGN_DOWN, PTR_ALIGN_UP, and PTR_ALIGN_DOWN
to a new header, libc-pointer-arith.h.

It then occurred to me that the remaining declarations in libc-internal.h
are mostly to do with early initialization, and probably most of the
files including it, even in the core code, don't need it anymore. Indeed,
only 19 files actually need what remains of libc-internal.h. 23 others
need libc-diag.h instead, and 12 need libc-pointer-arith.h instead.
No file needs more than one of them, and 16 don't need any of them!

So, with this patch, libc-internal.h stops including libc-diag.h as
well as losing the pointer arithmetic macros, and all including files
are adjusted.

9dd346ff43 Convert 113 more function definitions to prototype style (files with assertions).
This mostly automatically-generated patch converts 113 function
definitions in glibc from old-style K&R to prototype-style. Following
my other recent such patches, this one deals with the case of function
definitions in files that either contain assertions or where grep
suggested they might contain assertions - and thus where it isn't
possible to use a simple object code comparison as a sanity check on
the correctness of the patch, because line numbers are changed.

A few such automatically-generated changes needed to be supplemented
by manual changes for the result to compile. openat64 had a prototype
declaration with "..." but an old-style definition in
sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/dl-openat64.c, and "..." needed adding to the
generated prototype in the definition (I've filed
<https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=68024> for diagnosing
such cases in GCC; the old state was undefined behavior not requiring
a diagnostic, but one seems a good idea). In addition, as Florian has
noted regparm attribute mismatches between declaration and definition
are only diagnosed for prototype definitions, and five functions
needed internal_function added to their definitions (in the case of
__pthread_mutex_cond_lock, via the macro definition of
__pthread_mutex_lock) to compile on i386.

After this patch is in, remaining old-style definitions are probably
most readily fixed manually before we can turn on
-Wold-style-definition for all builds.

Tested for x86_64 and x86 (testsuite).

484c12fb1e Enhance localedef --list-archive option.
The localedef --list-archive option claims that it can
accept a [file] argument and list the contents of that
archive. The support was never implemented. This patch
adds that support and allows --list-archive to work as
expected. You can now use localedef to list the contents
of arbitrary locale archives by using:
./localedef --list-archive file

17db6e8d6b [BZ #10283] localedef: align fixed maps to SHMLBA
Many Linux arches require fixed mmaps to be aligned higher than pagesize,
so use the SHMLBA define as it represents this quantity exactly.

This fixes spurious errors seen on those arches like:
cannot map archive header: Invalid argument

0e60d68ef0 localedef: include file name in error messages
When mkstemp fails, the error message the user gets back is:
cannot create temporary file: No such file or directory

That isn't terribly useful in figuring out why, so include the full
filename we tried to create in the error output.
