Remove a boatload of "or %NULL" from nullable parameters
and return values. gi-docgen generates suitable text from
the annotation that we don't need to duplicate.
This adds a few missing nullable annotations too.
This typedef was not used in any public APIs, and is
only used in the MacOS backend. It is not worth preserving
as public API, move it to the only user.
Remove all the old 2.x and 3.x version annotations.
GTK+ 4 is a new start, and from the perspective of a
GTK+ 4 developer all these APIs have been around since
the beginning.
This function does not ignore empty rectangles. Since this
is a fairly subtle point about the behavior, it is worth
spelling this out in the documentation. We've had a bug
open about this for a long time:

cairo_rectangle_int_t was replaced by GdkRectangle in commit
552c29b488, but the type of the pointing-to
property was not changed.
To avoid breaking old code that sets or gets the property with a GValue
of type CAIRO_GOBJECT_TYPE_RECTANGLE_INT, transformation functions between
CAIRO_GOBJECT_TYPE_RECTANGLE_INT and GDK_TYPE_RECTANGLE are registered on
the first call to gdk_rectangle_get_type().

If e.g. the right edge of the leftmost rectangle is near MIN_INT, and
the left edge of the rightmost rectangle is large then subtracting these
can lead to an integer overflow, making the resultant "width" falsely
positive, thus returning a very wide result instead of the expected
no-intersection result.
We avoid the overflow by not doing the subtraction unless we know the
result will be positive. There are still risks for overflow if x + width
or y + width is larger than MAXINT, but we won't ever overflow for valid
rects now.
This may fix#607687

produced when calling makegdkalias.pl -def
