Public headers should mainly include gdktypes.h, which already include
the symbol visibility and versioning macros; we can also modify
gdktypes.h to include the enumerations.
Fix the circular dependency by moving the generated
headers to gdk/version/, and build that directory
first.
Misc other fixes, such as putting the custom targets
as sources, not depedencies, and using the correct
major version in the generator script.
Let's poach the same script used by GLib to avoid having to add all the
version macros by hand every time we increment the GTK version.
This is a work in progress:
- need to rename the GLIB_STATIC_COMPILATION check
- circular dependency: libgtkcss depends on gdkversionmacros.h, but libgdk
depends on libgtkcss
This typedef was not used in any public APIs, and is
only used in the MacOS backend. It is not worth preserving
as public API, move it to the only user.
With the removal of `gdk_seat_grab` we do not need to keep the
definitions of `GdkGrabStatus` and `GdkGrabOwnership` public.
Move those definitions to become internal only.
GTK defines various types that are meant to be derivable only within GTK
itself, and "final" from the perspective of consumers of the GTK API.
The existing macros defined by GObject, such as G_DECLARE_FINAL_TYPE and
G_DECLARE_DERIVABLE_TYPE, lack this functionality.
While we wait for GObject to get this kind of macro, we should define
our own.
We use a compilation symbol in our build to allow the inclusion of
specific headers while building GTK, to avoid the need to include only
the global header.
Each namespace has its own compilation symbol because we used to have
different libraries, and strict symbol visibility between libraries;
now that we have a single library, and we can use private symbols across
namespaces while building GTK, we should have a single compilation
symbol, and simplify the build rules.
This is to go along with the newly introduced GdkDrop.
This commit includes the necessary updates to the X11, Wayland
and Broadway backends. Other backends have to be updated separately.
The ultimate goal of this patch series is to split GdkDragContext into
GdkDrop + GdkDrag classes for the destination and source side of a dnd
operation.
The refactoring is meant to work something like this:
1. Introduce GdkDrop as a base class
2. Make all drop related code (like GdkEvent) use GdkDrop instead of
GdkDragContext. Move/duplicate APIs to allow that.
3. Port all drop contexts in the backends from GdkDragContext to GdkDrop
4. Delete all APIs in GdkDragContext that aren't needed anymore.
5. Make GdkDragContext no longer a GdkDrop subclass
6. Rename GdkDragContext to GdkDrag
This does nothing but disallow passing NULL to gdk_surface_begin_paint()
and instead require this context.
The ultimate goal is to split out Cairo drawing into its own source file
so it doesn't clutter up the generic rendering path.
This renames the GdkWindow class and related classes (impl, backend
subclasses) to surface. Additionally it renames related types:
GdkWindowAttr, GdkWindowPaint, GdkWindowWindowClass, GdkWindowType,
GdkWindowTypeHint, GdkWindowHints, GdkWindowState, GdkWindowEdge
This is an automatic conversion using the below commands:
git sed -f g GdkWindowWindowClass GdkSurfaceSurfaceClass
git sed -f g GdkWindow GdkSurface
git sed -f g "gdk_window\([ _\(\),;]\|$\)" "gdk_surface\1" # Avoid hitting gdk_windowing
git sed -f g "GDK_WINDOW\([ _\(]\|$\)" "GDK_SURFACE\1" # Avoid hitting GDK_WINDOWING
git sed "GDK_\([A-Z]*\)IS_WINDOW\([_ (]\|$\)" "GDK_\1IS_SURFACE\2"
git sed GDK_TYPE_WINDOW GDK_TYPE_SURFACE
git sed -f g GdkPointerWindowInfo GdkPointerSurfaceInfo
git sed -f g "BROADWAY_WINDOW" "BROADWAY_SURFACE"
git sed -f g "broadway_window" "broadway_surface"
