* configure.in: Bump libtiff requirement to 3.6.0, by requiring
presence of TIFFReadRGBAImageOriented.
* gdk-pixbuf-scaled-anim.c: (get_scaled_pixbuf):
Preserve pixbuf options when generating a new scaled pixbuf.
* io-jpeg.c: (get_orientation), (gdk_pixbuf__jpeg_image_load),
(gdk_pixbuf__jpeg_image_load_increment): Read the exif
orientation tag and associate it with the "orientation" pixbuf
option. Renders libexif unnecessary in some applications.
* io-tiff.c: (tiff_image_parse): Read the tiff orientation tag,
compensate for the partial rotations performed by libtiff,
and generate an "orientation" option for the pixbuf.

Prerequisites

GTK+ requires the following packages:
|
|
|
|
- The GLib, Pango, ATK and cairo libraries, available at the same
|
|
location as GTK+. GTK+ @GTK_VERSION@ requires at least GLib 2.12,
|
|
Pango 1.13, ATK 1.9 and cairo 1.2.
|
|
|
|
- The TIFF, PNG, and JPEG image loading libraries. You most
|
|
likely have these installed on your system already. If not
|
|
these libraries are available from:
|
|
|
|
http://www.libtiff.org/
|
|
http://www.libpng.org/
|
|
http://www.ijg.org/
|
|
|
|
libtiff must be version 3.6.0 or higher.

|
|

Simple install procedure
|
|
========================

% gzip -cd gtk+-@GTK_VERSION@.tar.gz | tar xvf - # unpack the sources
|

% cd gtk+-@GTK_VERSION@ # change to the toplevel directory
|

% ./configure # run the `configure' script
|

% make # build GTK+
