Since we position the tooltip window relative to the toplevel widget and
not actually relative to the effective_toplevel, we shouldn't get the
pointer position relative to the effective_toplevel.
We previously used the pointer position (relative to the
effective_toplevel) and the anchor rect (relative to the toplevel
widget) together to calculate x_distance. This leads to wrong values in
cases where get_surface (new_tooltip_widget) != get_surface (toplevel)
Fixes#1427 in master
Since we now have a widget whenever we query tooltips, we can as well
get the events target_widget if we have an event (which is what we do
when coming from gtkmain.c). This keeps us from searching the entire
widget hierarchy for the target event even though we've already done
that for pointing events in gtkmain.c
This reduced the work done in gtk_tooltip_handle_event in normal motion
events to basically nothing since we already did all the heavy lifting
when handling the pointing event in gtkmain.c
As stated by the documentation, this should be called when a widget gets
updated, but in that case, one can equally use
gtk_widget_trigger_tooltip_query.
In order to make tooltip positioning portable, make use of the
move_to_rect API. Some semantical changes are made, as identical
semantics cannot be implemented using the move-to-rect API.
Primarily the implemented semantics are:
Position the tooltip in the center pixels slightly below (defaults to 4
units below) the tooltipped widget. This is always the case for keyboard
driven tooltips; the case where it tries to avoid the pointer cursor is
not implemented.
For pointer position triggered tooltips, implement the following
additional semantics:
Use the current cursor size to determine the padding used to enlarge the
anchor rectangle. This is to try to avoid the cursor overlapping the
tooltip.
If the anchor rectangle is too tall (meaning if we'd be constrained
and flip on the Y axis, it'd flip too far away from the originally
intended position), rely only on the pointer position to position the
tooltip. The approximate pointer cursor rectangle is used as a anchor
rectangle. Ideally we should use the actual pointer cursor rectangle
(image used as well as hotspot coordinate), but we don't have API to
get that information.
If the anchor rectangle isn't to tall, just make sure the tooltip isn't
too far away from the pointer position on the X axis.

Remove all the old 2.x and 3.x version annotations.
GTK+ 4 is a new start, and from the perspective of a
GTK+ 4 developer all these APIs have been around since
the beginning.
The main GDK thread lock is not portable and deprecated.
The only reason why gdk_threads_add_timeout() and
gdk_threads_add_timeout_full() exist is to allow invoking a callback
with the GDK lock held, in case 3rd party libraries still use the
deprecated gdk_threads_enter()/gdk_threads_leave() API.
Since we're removing the GDK lock, and we're releasing a new major API,
such code cannot exist any more; this means we can use the GLib API for
installing timeout callbacks.

Since gtk_widget_get_allocation doesn't return x/y values relative to
the GdkWindow anymore, we need to manually translate the widget
coordinates here.
And have a priv->display instead of a priv->screen.
Includes turning gtk_menu_set_screen() into gtk_menu_set_display(),
because that function just forwards to its window.
This patch makes that work using 1 of 2 options:
1. Add all missing enums to the switch statement
or
2. Cast the switch argument to a uint to avoid having to do that (mostly
for GdkEventType).
I even found a bug while doing that: clearing a GtkImage with a surface
did not notify thae surface property.
The reason for enabling this flag even though it is tedious at times is
that it is very useful when adding values to an enum, because it makes
GTK immediately warn about all the switch statements where this enum is
relevant.
And I expect changes to enums to be frequent during the GTK4 development
cycle.
Those should be interpreted by widget-local gestures, not guessed at a
high level with no notions of the specific context. Users will want
GtkGestureMultiPress to replace these events.
Otherwise in GC-ed environments the `g_source_remove` call during
disposal might be called on an already removed source, which results in
unnecessary console output.

has_tooltip_widget was assigned twice in immediate succession.
return_value is not used anywhere else in this function since commit
14a864c8b5 and does not need a default
value anymore, so move it to the inner scope and don't init to NULL.
hide_tooltip gets overriden in any case 2 lines down, and return_value
isn't used later in that function. The second assignment was introduced
in ef1da5f6c2, directly below the first
assignment.
These complicate a lot of GdkWindow internals to implement features
that not a lot of apps use, and will be better achieved using gsk.
So, we just drop it all.
In https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=601425 the annotations
were changed to int as they not only take the predefined enum values
but also user defined values registered through gtk_icon_size_register()
As a result the typelib doesn't contain any information about
GtkIconSize for those arguments and the Python docstring only
shows the corresponding Python type "int".
This changes the argument docs to mention the type explicitly
so the Python doc generator can add a link to Gtk.IconSize
which contains the most useful predefined values.

The toplevel_window was never set, and the only place where it
was used was causing us to hide tooltips needlessly. So removing
it is a double win.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=733321
When placing tooltips, the csd shadow will get 'pushed up' and
may end up underneath the pointer. We don't want this to cause
the tooltip to be hidden, because that leads to flickering, so
ignore the shadow when finding the widget under the pointer.
This is old code from dating back many years. Nowadays, we can
just use css drawing and csd windows to achieve much the same
effect.
Themes will need some adjustment for this change.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=731187
When showing a tooltip on the edge of a monitor, the tooltip could be wrongly
placed and be shown going from one monitor to the next.
This happened because the current_window wasn't set visible, and when it wasn't
the returned allocated size would be 1, hence wrong calculations.

Usually, educated GtkContainers' forall() implementation returns children
in an order that's safe for the default draw() implementation in GtkContainer.
So for widgets with some stacking notions (eg. GtkOverlay),
_gtk_widget_find_at_coords() needs to recurse within containers in reverse
order so it finds the topmost widget.
As this function is used in both tooltips and DnD code, this improves behavior
of "floating" widgets wrt those two. This could for example be seen in the
"Transparent" GTK+ demo, where dropping text on the entry results on the text
going to the textview.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=699239
In particular gtksettings.h and gtkstylecontext.h needed to be included
in lots of places now.
Also, I order the includes alphabetically in a bunch of headers.
If we get a composited-changed signal before the tooltip is ever realized we
have nothing to do.
This actually prevents a segfault in maybe_update_shape() because calling
gtk_widget_get_window() on a non-realized widget returns NULL.
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=662467
Rounded corners now will always work, using XShape in case we're not
running a composite manager.
Also, setting an RGBA visual (if available) on the tooltip toplevel
enables them to be transparent if the theme specifies so.
