This is a huge reorganization of GtkDropTarget. I did not know how to
split this up, so it's unfortunately all one commit.
Highlights:
- Split GtkDropTarget into GtkDropTarget and GtkDropTargetAsync
GtkDropTarget is the simple one that only works with GTypes and offers
a synchronous interface.
GtkDropTargetAsync retains the full old functionality and allows
handling mime types.
- Drop events are handled differently
Instead of picking a single drop target and sending all DND events to
it, every event is sent to every drop target. The first one to handle
the event gets to call gdk_drop_status(), further handlers do not
interact with the GdkDrop.
Of course, for the ultimate GDK_DROP_STARTING event, only the first
one to accept the drop gets to handle it.
This allows stacking DND event controllers that aren't necessarily
interested in handling the event or that might decide later to drop
it.
- Port all widgets to either of those
Both have a somewhat changed API due to the new event handling.
For the ones who should use the sync version, lots of cleanup was
involved to operate on a sync API.
Remove arguments from the constructor.
For actions, we now default to COPY, which is the most common one
that we should enable by default (MOVE requires handling deletion
on the the source side, and ASK only makes sense if we have
multiple actions).
For the content provider, we add a new ::prepare signal where
it should be provided just-in-time.
This is to go along with the newly introduced GdkDrop.
This commit includes the necessary updates to the X11, Wayland
and Broadway backends. Other backends have to be updated separately.
The main GDK thread lock is not portable and deprecated.
The only reason why gdk_threads_add_timeout() and
gdk_threads_add_timeout_full() exist is to allow invoking a callback
with the GDK lock held, in case 3rd party libraries still use the
deprecated gdk_threads_enter()/gdk_threads_leave() API.
Since we're removing the GDK lock, and we're releasing a new major API,
such code cannot exist any more; this means we can use the GLib API for
installing timeout callbacks.

This is in preparation of using input streams to show that these
coordinates aren't needed most of the time and can otherwise be saved
during GtkWidget::drag-drop.
Instead of having just one function that has the gtype and mime type as
out arguments, have 3 functions: 1 that finds any match, 1 that finds a
GType match and one for a mime type match.
This makes the API way more convenient to use.
This is not used by anything yet, but add it now, so people looking at
this new code can make sense of it.
Plus, the documentation mentions it, so better have the docs make sense.
It will be used once we add support for conversions to GDK and allow
doing cipboard/dnd by GValue.
Make sure the API reflects the idea that GdkContentFormats is a set
containing mime types. In particular, treat the object itself as a
plural - it's named content format`S' after all - and therefor use
the correct verb form.
Also make GdkContentFormats keep an array instead of a list, now that
it's immutable.
Instead of allowing people to pass a uint user-data, insist on them
comparing mime types.
The user data was a uint instead of a pointer anyway, so uniqueness
could not be guaranteed and it caused more issues than it was worth.
And that's ignoring the fact that it basically wasn't used.
Bring the various 'run uninstalled' hacks in line with the
new way of doing things, and fix make install for module cache
files.
Patch by Tadej Borovsak.
Deprecate widget flag macros GTK_WIDGET_STATE, GTK_WIDGET_SAVED_STATE,
GTK_WIDGET_FLAGS, GTK_WIDGET_TOPLEVEL, GTK_WIDGET_NO_WINDOW and
GTK_WIDGET_COMPOSITE_CHILD.
Also deprecate the type macros GTK_WIDGET_TYPE, GTK_OBJECT_TYPE_NAME and
GTK_OBJECT_TYPE which have become redundant.
Instances of GTK_WIDGET_TOPLEVEL are replaced with gtk_widget_is_toplevel,
GTK_WIDGET_TYPE is replaced with G_OBJECT_TYPE, GTK_WIDGET_COMPOSITE_CHILD
is replaced with use of the "composite-child" property and uses of
GTK_WIDGET_NO_WINDOW are adjusted to use gtk_widget_get_has_window.
Uses of GTK_WIDGET_SAVED_STATE and GTK_WIDGET_FLAGS inside GtkWidget are
changed to direct flag usage.
Documentation is updated to refer to gtk_widget_set_has_window and
gtk_widget_get_has_window.
Gail and tests are updated as well.
