For --3to4, replace GtkRadioButton by either GtkCheckButton
or GtkToggleButton, depending on the value of :draw-indicator.
Update the testsuite to cover this.
Rewrite expand/fill properties on GtkBox to
hexpand/halign/vexpand/valign on the child widget.
Rewrite GtkVBox and GtkHBox to GtkBox, setting the orientation
property.
Added a test for boxes.
To build a better world sometimes means having to tear the old one down.
-- Alexander Pierce, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"
ATK served us well for nearly 20 years, but the world has changed, and
GTK has changed with it. Now ATK is mostly a hindrance towards improving
the accessibility stack:
- it maps to a very specific implementation, AT-SPI, which is Linux and
Unix specific
- it requires implementing the same functionality in three different
layers of the stack: AT-SPI, ATK, and GTK
- only GTK uses it; every other Linux and Unix toolkit and application
talks to AT-SPI directly, including assistive technologies
Sadly, we cannot incrementally port GTK to a new accessibility stack;
since ATK insulates us entirely from the underlying implementation, we
cannot replace it piecemeal. Instead, we're going to remove everything
and then incrementally build on a clean slate:
- add an "accessible" interface, implemented by GTK objects directly,
which describe the accessible role and state changes for every UI
element
- add an "assistive technology context" to proxy a native accessibility
API, and assign it to every widget
- implement the AT context depending on the platform

This adds a GDK_DEBUG=default-settings flag which disables reads
from xsettings and Xft resources, and enables this for the testsuite.
This is one less way to get different testresults depending on the
environment. In particular, it was failing the css tests for me
due to getting the wrong font size because i have a different dpi.
The `install` argument for configure_file() was introduced in Meson
0.50, and was ignored in earlier versions.
Since we're still using Meson 0.48 as a baseline, and since it doesn't
cost us nothing to use a conditional in the only place where we used the
`install` argument, let's drop it. This avoids a warning in newer
releases of Meson.
Using an empty `configuration_data` object to copy a configuration file
is deprecated since Meson 0.47 (released July 2018); the equivalent
behaviour is available by using `copy: true`.
This is not much of a test, tbh. But it will give us a convenient
dump of all GTK+ settings in continuous, which helps with tracking
down test failures that might depend on settings.
Makefile.decl does not work well with scripts that stay
in srcdir, so generate test-simplify from test-simplify.in,
just os that it ends up in builddir.
