fdfd63053a QtBase: avoid uses of Java-style iterators [QHash, QMap]
Java-style iterators are slower than STL-style ones, so
they should not be used in library code.

Replaced them with C++11 range-for, STL iterators or, in
one case, qDeleteAll().

In one case, avoid a double hash lookup by using erase(it)
instead of remove(it.key()), which we can now do without
detaching, due to the new erase() taking const_iterator.

14efcaa392 Windows QPA: Improve handling of windows of type Qt::ForeignWindow.
Extract a base class QWindowsBaseWindow from QWindowsWindow that provides
_sys() getters for geometry and margin calculation and implements
QPlatformWindow::geometry()/ frameMargins() to be calculated from the
HWND.

Implement a QWindowsDesktopWindow class directly inheriting
QWindowsBaseWindow which does not allow any manipulation.

Add a thin QWindowsForeignWindow class that wraps a foreign window id and
always returns correct geometry/margin information when queried. Simple
reparenting and manipulation of geometry for child windows is also implemented,
allowing for embedding foreign windows into Qt. When calling other setters on
it, the unimplemented warnings of QPlatformWindow will trigger.

Remove the special casing for foreign/desktop window from QWindowsWindow.
The existing mechanism to cache the geometry/margin values in QWindowsWindow
remains as is.

Rename the existing QWindowsWindow::baseWindowOf() and add checks there.

4c71db7567 QWindow::destroy(): only reset QGuiApp::focus_window and friends as a last resort
Resetting focus_window and other internal QGuiApplication variables before
calling setVisible(false) and destroying the platform window means that the
platform window can't reason about whether or not it was the focus window
unless it can resolve that using native APIs. We should let the platform
window take care of resetting the focus window and related states, and
only execute our fallback logic if the plugin doesn't do the right
thing.

We also use QPA to update the state instead of modifying the internal
QGuiApplication variables directly, so that events and signals are
emitted as a result of the reset.

The QLineEdit test gets two added calls to processEvents(), since
assuming that activateWindow() is synchronous is not correct, and
would result in the QMenu resetting the focus window to 0 on destroy.

This also improves the cache hitting for the font engines in some cases.

... of QLists. The returned list was only ever exactly of
size one or two, and two only if a local QList in the
getGraphParts() function was not empty.

Instead of using a QList to return those QLists, use a
small struct of two QLists. This way, we avoid copying,
memory allocations, and the code becomes a lot clearer,
because we can give the members of the struct meaningful
names, instead of at(0) and at(1).

As a consequence, at the call site, the loop over the
result can now be collapsed into an if.

Saves ~1200b in text size on optimized GCC 5.3 Linux

f2d1f3f1c7 QColor: plaster API with Q_DECL_NOTHROW
This is mostly straight-forward, but some things are worth noting:

1. Yes, this is necessary. The noexcept operator looks for noexcept tagging,
not at the contents of the function to determine whether to return true.
The more conditionally-noexcept functions are used, the more important it
becomes that low-level classes are correctly marked noexcept. In that, it
   is like constexpr.
2. In accordance with the rules governing noexcept specifications for the
standard library itself, the get*() functions, as well as any function
taking (but not returning) channel values as ints or qreals, or taking
QStrings are not marked as noexcept, since they have preconditions and
thus a narrow contract. Narrow-contract functions should not be noexcept.
All other functions have wide contracts (ie. no preconditions).
3. Any function returning QString can throw (bad_alloc).
Consequently, they, too, are not marked nothrow.

8c843712da Doc: a QScreen can be a placeholder if there are no screens attached
As of change a094af0017, X11 now joins
other platforms in having a fake screen if no physical screens are
attached, rather than ever allowing QGuiApplication::screens() to
return an empty list or QGuiApplication::primaryScreen() to return
null. This is more consistent across platforms and helps to prevent
bugs in applications which want to use QScreen in some context but
fail to check whether it exists.

[ChangeLog][X11] In case there are no physical screens attached,
QGuiApplication::screens() and QGuiApplication::primaryScreen() will
return a placeholder QScreen object.

7236721bf8 QJsonObject has random-access iterators
... but they were only marked as bidirectional.

Fixed.

This change is slightly BiC, because if some class used tag
dispatching on this iterator type, a recompile might now
pick a different overload, and the old one may not be
available to a user anymore (no longer instantiated).

I do not think Qt uses that technique, yet, though. Not on
iterator categories, at least.

0f27d11285 Don't use QStringLiteral in comparisons
For QLatin1String, operator== is overloaded, so comparing to a latin-1
(C) string literal is efficient, since strlen() is comparatively fast.

OTOH, QStringLiteral, when not using RVO, litters the code with
QString dtor calls, which are not inline. Worse, absent lambdas,
it even allocates memory.

So, just compare using QLatin1String instead.

1c0494e63b QIODevice: add infrastructure for multistreaming
Some sequential devices allow data to be partitioned into several
channels that have the property of independently sequenced delivery.
Supporting such devices uniformly requires a unified API which provides
the user with a uniform concept of multistreaming.

This patch is based on QProcess's multiplexing model and introduces
the following features:

 - ability to get the number of channels;
 - multiple internal read/write buffers;
 - channel selection functions;
 - notification signals on channel activity.

To keep the source code compatible with single-channel implementations,
introduce a private class that references the current read buffer and
hides multistreaming internals from the user.

Bump the TypeInformationVersion field in qtHookData, to notify the
Qt Creator developers that the offset of QFilePrivate::fileName was
changed and dumpers should be adapted.

[ChangeLog][QtCore] Added multistreaming to QIODevice.

This fixes the rendering of translucent borders on CSS-styled widgets to
prevent visible overlapping at the corners. This is done by using a

translucent. Previously, adjacent edges would be drawn at full length
and overlap at the corners if both edges are BorderStyle_Solid and have
identical QBrush objects. This works if both QBrush objects are opaque
but causes visible overlap if one or both of them are translucent.

088eef5756 QStringBuilder: fix appending QLatin1String to QByteArray
The old code did the equivalent of strcpy(), thus stopping
at the first NUL byte, ignoring the QLatin1String's size().

That is not acceptable, for two reasons:

1. Appending QLatin1String to a QString uses the size(), too.

2. The QConcatenable claims an ExactSize = true, so
it cannot go and write less data than it's own
size() said it would. Even worse, it will happily
write _more_ data, too, if the QLatin1String is
   not properly zero-terminated.

This change has low risk, because the equivalent change
to the QString branch has been applied between 5.2 and
5.3 (in fd0f1bc3), with no complaints from the user base.

It is also in a branch that is very unlikely to be taken:
Since QConcatenable<QLatin1String> is setting ConvertTo
to QString, any QStringBuilder expression containing it
will only implicitly convert to QString, not QByteArray.
In fact, I don't even know how to make it invoke the
changed code in normal operation...

2c26d519e2 moc: simplify finding required Qt containers
The old code searched for any Qt containers by looking at
- each class definition
  - each property's type
  - each function (signal, slot, method)
    - each argument type
and matching each against "Container<", building
the pattern string each time through the loop.

It would then collect hits in a QSet to be converted
to a QList and sorted at the very end.

The new code pulls the iteration over the candidates
out of all other loops. By doing so, it can stop
looking at classes, properties, functions etc when
it finds the first hit, and it inserts every candidate
at most once.

By iterating over the statically-known list of
candidates, the result is not a sorted set of Qt
containers, as before, but it still has s fixed order
across runs, which was the purpose of the sorting in
the original code.

In the implementation, make liberal use of C++11
range-for, which is safe, as we're passing everything
around as const.

a1ba281a26 Call out to QtDBus message spies in the main thread
Whenever there are spies installed, we call out to the main thread to
call to the kded/kiod message spies. This allows the spy code to do just
about anything, where previously it was restricted in what it could do
to avoid deadlocking or triggering assertions if it recursed back into
QDBusConnection code in the manager thread. After the spies are done,
the message is re-inserted into the QDBusConnection processing pipeline.

This commit moves the spy handling to after the check for disabled
dispatching, as doing otherwise would mean the message could get
postponed again for no good reason. It's also possible that the main
thread isn't done installing the hooks, so waiting until the dispatching
is enabled is a good idea.

For simplicity, this commit also restricts spying to method calls
only. Signals are no longer spyable.

The native socket engine used strcpy for WinRT, which tries to copy

Hence use memcpy instead to protect from additional copies beyond

198768cbba QWidget: fix expensive iteration over QMap::keys()
... with iteration over the hash itself.

Can't keep the call to ungrabGesture() in the loop,
because it removes the current element from the very
hash being iterated over. Instead, inline the call
and optimize based on the context:

- don't remove element by element, but clear the
  hash completely at the end.
- drag the check for QGestureManager::instance()
  out of the loop.
- drop the check for presence of the key in the
hash, since it would be always true.

d8c0bd4207 Make it clearer what's happening with a fall-through.
An if () {...}'s close-brace was hiding on the end of a break; line,
an idiom used in several places for braces that existed to contain a
case (for the sake of local declarations). This made it hard to see
that there was an if() whose else was the resulting (commented)
fall-through. So put that close-brace on the comment's line and make
the comment clearly indicate it's an else.

57671bebbc QGraphicsAnchorLayout: remove a misguided use of QLinkedList
QSimplexConstraints are held in QList everywhere, yet one
single function, getGraphParts(), used a temporary
QLinkedList. It did so because the function repeatedly
walks the list, erasing elements from it until no more
elements have been removed.

Thus, in O-terms, QLinkedList is the correct choice here.
Sadly, O-notation completely ignores the per-element cost,
and this is where QLinkedList suffers. By the time a QList
has shifted all of its elements left once, the QLinkedList
probably has just finished allocating its first node.

So, use a QList instead.

That, however, turns the it = erase(it) loop quadratic, so
re-formulate the processing part as a lambda and use
std::remove_if. Don't even erase until we know how many
items to erase.

As a benefit, we save the final conversion of the remaining
items back to a QList, and we can use QList::op+ to build
the initial list, reducing the number of allocations
performed by that container to one.

Also saves ~770b in text size on optimized GCC 5.3 Linux
AMD64 builds.

b30ea41945 eglfs: use QGenericUnixTheme if requested
We need to have reasonable paths for loading icons and such things, just
as in any other Unix GUI environment. However there is some concern that
it would be too much of a behavior change if there was a theme by default,
so for now it's required to set the env var: QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=generic
That works because QGuiApplicationPrivate::createPlatformIntegration() reads
the env variable and passes platformThemeName to init_platform().
Step 3 in init_platform() does not find a theme plugin by that name
(because QGenericUnixTheme is statically linked via libQt5PlatformSupport.a).
Then in step 4 it iterates the given platformThemeName plus any which
were returned from QPlatformIntegration::themeNames() (which in our case
will be an empty list) and calls createPlatformTheme() with each of
those, until something is returned. So,
QEglFSIntegration::createPlatformTheme() will be called with the
value of the QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME env var, and
QGenericUnixTheme::createUnixTheme() will create the generic, KDE or Gnome
theme depending on that value.

These QPairs are larger than a void*, so holding them in QLists

on the fragile property of (inefficient) QLists that references
to elements therein never are invalidated.

Fix by holding them in QVector instead.

434302eae1 Fix non-Latin1 strings in QJsonDocument on big-endian platforms
QJsonDocument stores the entire JSON tree in its binary format. Since
the binary format is the same on-disk as in-memory, it has a fixed
endianness. But when converting from QString to the little-endian
format, the code accidentally converted twice (from little endian, to
little endian), which resulted in a no-op and the string got stored as
big-endian.

It's like encrypting with double-ROT13.

No new testcase because tst_QtJson::removeNonLatinKey was already
failing and gets fixed by this commit.

c3376ed3f9 winrt: enable hardware buttons for Windows 10
Previously the hardware and camera button handler were guarded inside a
Q_OS_WINPHONE which does not apply to Windows 10.

Instead use WINAPI_PARTITION_FAMILY like on other places, this covers
Windows Phone 8.1 as well as Windows 10.

To find windows.phone.ui.input.h at build time the Mobile Extension
directory needs to be added to the include paths inside qmake. On
runtime we need to check whether we have hardware buttons or not. In
case they exist, register the handlers, otherwise skip registration.
Skipping also helps to keep WACK succeeding.

Irrelevant once we get to C++11 (so we can revert this in 5.7), but
division's rounding direction is implementation defined when either

(a.k.a. round towards zero), but rounding may be downwards instead.
