The change was introduced in 5.6. After the refactoring, 14960f52,

WinRT does not allow do connect to the localhost due to security
constraints and sandboxing. Hence we need to disable those
currently.

To handle network events, QEventDispatcherWin32 uses I/O model
based on notifications through the window message queue. Having
successfully posted notification of a particular event to an
application window, no further messages for that network event
will be posted to the application window until the application
makes the function call that implicitly re-enables notification
of that network event. With these semantics, an application need
not read all available data in response to an FD_READ message:
a single recv in response to each FD_READ message is appropriate.
If an application issues multiple recv calls in response to a
single FD_READ, it can receive multiple FD_READ messages
(including spurious).
To solve this issue, this patch always disables the notifier
after getting a notification, and re-enables it only when the
message queue is empty.

- Replace Q[TRY]_VERIFY(pointer == 0) by Q[TRY]_VERIFY(!pointer).
- Replace Q[TRY]_VERIFY(smartPointer == 0) by
Q[TRY]_VERIFY(smartPointer.isNull()).
- Replace Q[TRY]_VERIFY(a == b) by Q[TRY]_COMPARE(a, b) and
add casts where necessary. The values will then be logged
should a test fail.
Tests from corelib/tools were omitted in this change.

They didn't show up in the "old" CI runs because they usually pass the second
time they are executed - which the testrunner does. The new CI doesn't do that
anymore, instead we now mark those tests explicitly and will track their record
of passing and failing in the new metrics database.

Qt copyrights are now in The Qt Company, so we could update the source
code headers accordingly. In the same go we should also fix the links to

Added basic functionality to socket for WinRT. Even though not
all auto tests pass yet, this patch can be seen as a foundation
for upcoming work in this area. Reading from and writing to TCP
socket works and one can listen for tcp connections.

Qt 5.0 beta requires changing the default to the 5.0 API, disabling
the deprecated code. However, tests should test (and often do) the
compatibility API too, so turn it back on.

These tests have passed a parallel stress test on all three of Linux,
Mac, Windows. Mark them with CONFIG+=parallel_test to allow CI to run
them in parallel, saving time.

Socket notifier behavior is very OS-dependent. QtNetwork uses non-
immediately (it will return -1 w/ errno=EINPROGRESS). We have to wait
with select(2) to indicate that the connection is ready, then call
connect(2) again. When this happens, we need another call to select(2)
to get notification on the listening socket so that we can call
accept(2) to complete the connection.
The mixingWithTimers() failure happens due to the test expecting a
single processEvents() call to be able to completely connect a TCP
socket. But as described above, this may not happen. The test should
QTRY_COMPARE() to give the test a chance to let all this happen.
The posixSockets() test can fail due to the same connect() behavior. The
test already has a comment about the write notifier behavior being very
OS dependent. This caused the first enterLoop() to return too early,
before the read notifier fired (which is what the test is checking for,
that the read notifier fired). Move creation of the write notifier to
where we expect it to fire, just before writing to the posix socket.
In the same test, the read notifier inside QTcpSocket may not fire after
the write notifier on the posix socket. Use the waitForReadyRead()
function to give the socket a chance to read the data written to the
posix socket.

When using QSignalSpy, always verify that the signal spy is valid. This
will cause the test to give a meaningful failure when spying on a
non-existant signal. Without this change, tests that spy on a signal to
ensure that it is not emitted (i.e. by comparing the spy count to zero)
could pass erroneously if something went wrong when creating the signal
spy, as an invalid QSignalSpy will always return a count of zero.

This is the first change to re-enable the autotests for the individual
qtbase modules. This means adding subdir.CONFIG=no_check_target for each
module (except corelib) in tests/auto/auto.pro instead of in
tests/tests.pro
QFileSystemWatcher, QIODeice, QSettings, QTextStream, QSocketNotifier,
QVariant, QPluginLoader, QLocale: These tests currently fail, which
will block any changes that attempt to re-enable the autotests. Ignore
the failures for now by marking them as insignificant.
QAbstractItemModel: This test currently crashes, which can
destabilize the CI system when attempting to re-enable the autotests.
Skip this test for now by disabling the check target for it.

The moc tool is not aware of all defines (particularly those that are
compiler builtins) and does not correctly evaluate others that depend
on compiler builtins, such as Q_OS_FOO.
This commit reverts parts of the following commits, but is not a
complete fix as there were many instances of this problem in the tests
prior to those commits:

qttest_p4.prf was added as a convenience for Qt's own autotests in Qt4.
It enables various crufty undocumented magic, of dubious value.
Stop using it, and explicitly enable the things from it which we want.

QSKIP is intended to be used to skip test functions that are found at
run-time to be inapplicable or unsafe. If a test function can be
determined to be inapplicable at compile-time, the entire test function
should be omitted instead of replacing the body of the test function
with a QSKIP, which only serves to slow down test runs and to inflate
test run-rates with empty, inapplicable tests.
