We've been setting the -Zm argument since the dawn of times (even before the first git commit). Anyhow, MSDN from VS2008 onwards indicates that this is not needed: "In earlier versions of Visual C++, the compiler used several discrete heaps, and each had a finite limit. Currently, the compiler dynamically grows the heaps as necessary up to a total heap size limit, and requires a fixed-size buffer only to construct precompiled headers. Consequently, the /Zm compiler option is rarely necessary." [ChangeLog][Compiler Specific Changes] Visual Studio: -Zm200 (an option to specify the precompiled header memory allocation limit) is not added anymore by qmake to the compiler calls. If you encounter an C1076 compiler error you might need to re-add it in your .pro file. This directory contains autotests and benchmarks based on Qt Test. In order to run the autotests reliably, you need to configure a desktop to match the test environment that these tests are written for. Linux X11: * The user must be logged in to an active desktop; you can't run the autotests without a valid DISPLAY that allows X11 connections. * The tests are run against a KDE3 or KDE4 desktop. * Window manager uses "click to focus", and not "focus follows mouse". Many tests move the mouse cursor around and expect this to not affect focus and activation. * Disable "click to activate", i.e., when a window is opened, the window manager should automatically activate it (give it input focus) and not wait for the user to click the window.
