Previously, DM destroyed a large number of non-trivial objects at
shutdown time. Because no shutdown order is promised across translation
units by the standard, this can lead to bugs which only reproduce
capriciously, at the whim of the linker.
http://go/totw/110#the-fix-safe-initialization-no-destruction
"Destruction issues are usually solved by defining your static data
in such a way that the destructor never runs. The most common way to do
this is to heap allocate the static object - pointers don't have
destructors."
http://go/cstyle#decision_on_destruction
"Global and static variables that use dynamic initialization or have
non-trivial destructors create complexity that can easily lead to hard-
to-find bugs. Dynamic initialization is not ordered across translation
units, and neither is destruction (except that destruction happens in
reverse order of initialization). When one initialization refers to
another variable with static storage duration, it is possible that this
causes an object to be accessed before its lifetime has begun (or
after its lifetime has ended). Moreover, when a program starts threads
that are not joined at exit, those threads may attempt to access objects
after their lifetime has ended if their destructor has already run."

Our "header" reading and writing code didn't agree, so we always failed
to recognize cached program binaries. The asserts in the testing sink
failed to notice, because we did get a 100% cache hit rate, but we
immediately discarded the data we received.
We now also check that we didn't insert anything into the cache, as a
proxy for doing any shader compile work. That change, plus the tweak to
set cached=false when the header fields are invalid (like we do if we
encounter problems further in the blob) detected the problem. Adding the
version tag to the start of the encoded blob fixes the test, and means
that program binary caching is actually working again.
This code still looks (and is) fragile. The next CL is going to rewrite
things to use SkReadBuffer and SkWriteBuffer, make the parsing code less
brittle, and give us a more robust way to detect failure anywhere in the
stream.

OOP-R, on the gpu thread, creates the DDL, pre-compiles its shaders, draws it, flushes and then deletes the DDL. This process triggered a bug (cf. https://skia-review.googlesource.com/c/skia/+/292818 and crbug.com/1056730).
Prior to this CL all the programs were compiled and only at the end was any work flushed - thus it was likely that the bound program would be reset to the correct value when rendering.
With this CL, the addition of the flush right before the DDL deletion, makes it more likely that the wrong program will be bound when rendering begins.

Parse embedded fonts into SkCustomTypefaces, and pass down the text
animation pipeline. Things seem to mostly work for Latin examples.
Most existing Lottie files come with embedded fonts (the option is
enabled by default), so to minimize disruption only use the new
feature as a fallback for typefaces which cannot be resolved otherwise.
Also introduce a builder flag to prioritize embedded fonts over native
(kPreferEmbeddedFonts), and plumb in existing tools for testing.

Update testing tools to use android::skia::BitmapRegionDecoder, but
only if SK_ENABLE_ANDROID_UTILS is defined.
Take this opportunity to clean up the class:
- The base class, which was originally designed to allow switching
amongst different implementations, is no longer needed. Rename
SkBitmapRegionCodec to android::skia::BitmapRegionDecoder
(following the new convention and matching the Java API name).
Continue to inherit from SkBitmapRegionDecoder temporarily, to
allow Android to switch to the new API.
- Use std::unique_ptr instead of passing raw pointers.
Add a test to verify that we only create a BitmapRegionDecoder if
it is one of the supported types.

Add support for external precomp Skottie layers. This allows embedders
to seamlessly mix custom/Lottie content.
General flow:
* embedders register a PrecompInterceptor callback with
the animation builder
* at build time, Skottie invokes the callback for each pre-composed
layer
- the returned ExternalLayer implementation is used instead of the
Lottie layer payload
- (a nullptr value signals Skottie to use the usual Lottie payload)
* at render time, ExternalLayer::render() is called to defer content
rendering to the embedder
Also implement a sample PrecompInterceptor which attempts to substitute
precmp layers matching a given pattern with external Lottie animations:
precomp_name: "__foo.json" -> Animation("foo.json")
This new mechanism is a generalization of (and supersedes) the old
NestedAnimation hack - so we can remove that.

Initially, Error was written with the intent that an empty string meant
Ok and anything else meant Fatal. This made things simple with implicit
constructors from strings. With the introduction of Nonfatal the state
was now tied up with an additional boolean. Now the empty string meant
Ok and causes the new boolean to be ignored, or at least that is the way
it was used since Error didn't actually enforce that itself. This leads
to GMs which return kSkip but don't set the message to not be skipped.
This could be fixed in several ways.
The first would be for the GMSrc to notice that a GM had returned kSkip
with an empty message and create the Error::Nonfatal with a non-empty
message. This has the downside of being some extra unexpected complexity
and doesn't prevent similar issues from arising in the future.
The second would be to change how DM interprets the Error, and if the
non-fatal bit is set treat that as a sign to skip, even if the message
is empty. This fixes the stated issue, but doesn't fix the issue where a
GM can return kFail but also leave the message empty. This could again
be fixed by either modifying GMSrc::draw or GM::drawContent, but this
also seems a bit brittle in not preventing this from happening again in
the future.
So this replaces Error with Result, which makes the status orthogonal to
the message. It does lose the automatic conversion from string, but by
being able to wrap the many uses of SkStringPrintf the explicit nature

- Update comments on getPixels() regarding how the SkColorSpace on the

- Add two new images that have ICC profiles that do not map to an

color we expect.
- Stop uploading ColorCodecSrc images decoded to a null SkColorSpace to
Gold. Though they may be correct, they do not match other images they're
compared against. The new test above verifies that we do not do color

The goal of the verifier framework is to enable opt-in checks of the

such as one generated by the CPU backend.
In the short term this can enable coarse-grained sanity checks for a

this can provide an SkQP-style suite of tests that can be run across
many/all GMs to provide a vote of confidence in the rendering

Previously the pixel data passed to the client was only valid during
the client's callback. This meant if the client wanted to defer
processing of the data a copy was necessary.
Now we pass an object to the callback and the pixel lifetime is tied
to the lifetime of that object.
The object may be holding a GPU transfer buffer mapped. We don't assume
that the object will be released on the direct GrContext thread. So
when the object is destroyed it posts a message to a new type,
GrClientMappedBufferManager, hanging off the direct context. The direct
context will periodically check for messages and unmap and then unref
buffers so that they can be reused. Currently this is done in
GrContext::performDeferredCleanup() and GrDrawingManager::flush().
The old API is kept around for backwards compatibility but it is
reimplemented as a bridge on top of the new mechanism.
Also a utility function to SkImageInfo is added to directly make a new
info with a specified dimensions rather than passing the width and
height separately to makeWH().

The client can do a test run of their application with
a persistent cache set to SkSL mode. They store the key
and data blobs that are produced.
Ship those blobs with the application. At startup, call
GrContext::precompileShader for each key/data pair. This
compiles the shaders, and stores the GL program ID, plus
a small amount of metadata in our runtime program cache.
Caveats:
* Currently only implemented for the GL backend. Other
backends will require more metadata to do any useful
amount of work. Metal may need a more drastic workflow
change, involving offline compilation of the shaders.
* Currently only implemented for cached SkSL (not GLSL
or program binaries). Supporting other formats again
requires more metadata, and the cached shaders become
increasingly specialized to GPU and driver versions.
* Reusing the cached SkSL on different hardware is not
supported. Many driver workarounds are implemented in
the SkSL -> GLSL transformation, but some are higher
level. Limiting device variance by artificially hiding
extensions may help, but there are no guarantees.
* The 'gltestprecompile' DM config exercises this code
similarly to 'gltestpersistentcache', ensuring that
results are visually identical when precompiling, and
that no cache misses occur after precompiling.

Also add a type tag for cached program binaries, so we can safely
detect cache entries of the wrong type.

The majority of our gm testing has been disabling nvpr, which doesn't
match our real-world behavior where we use nvpr whenever available.
This CL fixes the issue by completely removing the explicit nvpr
configs. Now if we have nvpr, you get it.
This CL also lowers the nvpr priority in the path renderer chain and
adds a "NonNVPR" job on Quadro where we can continue to test our
non-nvpr codepaths on NVIDIA.

- various compile.sh simplifications
- tweak tools/embed_resources.py
- update gn/find_headers.py to write paths from the top
- update gn/gn_to_bp.py SkUserConfig.h layout

FM's a bit like DM, and a bit like the old GM tool, maybe closer to GM.
FM always does one serial run through of a list of GM, image, or .skp
sources (-s/--sources) into one drawing configuration, set at a high
level with -b/--backend, fine-tuned by flags like --ct, --at, --gamut,
--samples, etc.
FM prints all available GMs when run with no arguments, part of
how it integrates well with external parallelization like xargs:
out/fm | time xargs -n4 -P32 out/fm -b cpu ... -s
out/fm | time xargs -n32 -P8 out/fm -b gl ... -s
ls *.skp | xargs ... out/fm ... -s
...
TODO later:
vector backends: --backend pdf, svg, xps, skp
--source *.svg, *.json (Skottie)
Create/update a dm.json file

In the end only DM and skia_test really use it.
- nanobench used --veryVerbose in a silly superficial way
- gm/fontmgr.cpp is probably clearer using its own flag
- the change to StrokerTest should be a near noop...
reporter->verbose() is set by --veryVerbose in both
DM and skia_test.cpp. One of the checks tested
FLAGS_verbose, but I feel like that was probably a typo.

This wraps up the behavior for --analyticAA and --forceAnalyticAA
in one place, like we've done for the various GPU flags covered by
SetCtxOptionsFromCommonFlags().
It seems at least midly useful to have common flags centralized when
there is really a common mechanism they control. Most of the rest
of these flags only serve analogous purposes in the various binaries
that use them, and I think it might be better for them to be split
out rather than centralized (so they don't show up confusingly in
binaries that _don't_ use them).

and like any normal variable, mostly they should be if they can.
This CL converts most flags to be static, if only so that the
ones that do cross files stand out more clearly, and so that
there's more examples of static flags through the codebase for
people to ape.

Some of my early trybots from the first big re-hash CL produced .pngs
without embedded ICC profiles, and some produced .pngs with embedded
profiles, with the same hash. These were uploaded to Gold, of course.
Where the trybot-without-profile images uploaded first, we see Rec.2020
colors uncorrected as if sRGB, typically rather dim. Where we're still
producing the same image we see these profile-less images and it's very
confusing, downright misleading. Makes it impossible to triage.
So, add a salt mechanism to make it easy to re-hash everything,
invalidating all the old hashes so new profile-full images get uploaded.

Convert all bitmaps to a single common format before hashing.
Also, include bitmap dimensions in the hash.
There's no good format supported by Skia / SkPngEncoder to use,
so we do the converison manually to 16-bit big-endian Rec.2020
RGBA and call libpng directly.
This format is just about as far as wide as we can stretch PNG.
I've temporarily bumped PNG compression level to 9.
Expecting zillions of new images, it'll help to keep them small.
I think we can probably turn this knob back down once this settles.

Replace all the old modes with two that should draw the same:
1) decode to the codec's "native" SkImageInfo, draw to dst;
2) decode to the dst's ct/at/cs, draw to dst.
Testing against --config srgb, p3, rec2020, narrow ought to give
us the kind of destination variety we were getting from the old
modes, and --configs 8888 shows off managed vs. unmanged color.
The only difference between the two is that 1) does any conversion at
draw time, 2) at decode time.
I don't quite understand why codec won't decode to some images to 565,
nor any images to 4444.
