7514db4b60 [wasm-simd][liftoff][x64][ia32] Fix i64x2.mul codegen
We are overwriting rhs when dst == rhs && dst != lhs. This is not a
problem on TurboFan because we specify unique registers and dst == lhs
in the instruction-selector.

The fix is to use the helper EmitSimdCommutativeBinOp, which will check
for dst == rhs (pmuludq is commutative).

ba5fafb05b Reland "[wasm-simd] Move test helpers into wasm-simd-utils"
This is a reland of 9a6567b482

The fix is to specialize float/double compare ops to fix msvc build.
On msvc builds, we were selecting the overloaded Equal/NotEqual (etc)
functions that takes float/double as arguments, but we intended to
refer to the function templates.

Original change's description:

> potentially be useful for relaxed-simd test in the future. I left behind

232bf1ffe4 Clamp properly in the String.p.indexOf reduction
This fixes a bug introduced in crrev.com/c/2660995.
String.prototype.indexOf must clamp the `position` argument as per
step:

  7. Let start be the result of clamping pos between 0 and len.

Source: tc39.es/ecma262/#sec-string.prototype.indexof

Previously, this was done in the StringIndexOf builtin, but the recent
refactor changed builtin implementations to match the spec more
closely (i.e. to clamp in String.prototype.indexOf, not
StringIndexOf). This means we now have to clamp in
JSCallReducer::ReduceStringPrototypeIndexOf.

c9b4f3c4a7 [dict-proto] TF support for constants in dictionary mode protos, pt. 4
This CL is part of a series that implements Turbofan support for
property accesses satisfying the following conditions:
1. The holder is a dictionary mode object.
2. The holder is a prototype.
3. The access is a load.

This feature will only be enabled if the build flag
v8_dict_property_const_tracking is set.

This particular CL modifies existing mjsunit tests whose assumptions
don't hold if v8_dict_property_const_tracking is enabled. This is
done by adding special handling for the case that
%IsDictPropertyConstTrackingEnabled() holds.

11110c307c [wasm][fuzzer] Stack overflow is nondeterministic
Before the introduction of exception handling in the compile fuzzer,
stack overflows were deterministic because they always caused the whole
stack to be unwound.
With support for exception handling, the stack overflow exception can be
caught and is a source of nondeterminism. Flag the interpreter result as
such in this case so that we skip the correctness check.

28d5f133df [heap] Fix deadlock with concurrent allocation and blocked main thread
It could happen (e.g. with --stress-background-compile) that the main
thread blocks for a background thread but the background thread requests
a GC from the main thread. This would result in a deadlock. Avoid this
by parking the main thread for potentially blocking operations and allow
allocations while the main thread is parked.

This CL introduces new states for the main thread: CollectionRequested
and ParkedCollectionRequested. These states will force Safepoint(),
Park() and Unpark() on the main thread into slow paths. The slow path
can then perform a GC on the main thread - right before parking or after
the main thread got unparked.

51140a4409 [dict-proto] Rename v8_dict_mode_prototypes flag
The build time flag v8_dict_mode_prototypes is ill-named, because it
does not control whether properties are kept in dictionary mode (this
is done by the v8_dict_property_const_tracking flag), but instead it
controls if SwissNameDictionary or NameDictionary is used as the
property backing store for all dictionary mode objects.

This CL renames the flag and updates its description.

950b281ffe [compiler] Inline 64bit immediates and RPO numbers in InstructionOperand
AddImmediate ends up pushing repeated immediates very often
unecessarily. Add support for Int64 immediates being inlined into
InstructionOperand if they fit into the payload (which is almost always
the case). Also add a seperate rpo_immediate vector for RPO numbers to
avoid having to add them to the immediates_ vector multiple times.
Ideally the RPO values would also be inlined, however JumpThreading
needs to patch RPO targets throughout the instruction stream, so we
need an indirection.

db16dce263 [api] Assign serial numbers when template infos are added to cache
Instead of assigning serial numbers when the template infos are
created, this patch creates serial numbers only when they are added to
cache.

This way only the ones that are first instantiated are allocated the
fast template cache. Previously, various accessors and methods that
would almost never get instantiated got assigned to the fast template
cache.

7d844bdbb0 [wasm][liftoff] Fix reftype parameter handling
LiftoffCompiler::ProcessParameter assumed that by processing parameters
in the order of their index, register parameters get
processed first, and that for processing stack parameters it can already
use all registers as temp registers. This is not true with reference
type parameters, because registers always first get assigned to value
type parameters even when there is a reference type parameter with a
lower index. Because of this incorrect assumption register parameters
were overwritten by reference type parameters on the stack that got
processed first.

With this CL, only those registers get used as temp registers for
reference type parameters that are not used for parameters.

f035b2f088 [wasm][interpreter] Fix max stack height for implicit rethrow
Take into account that the implicit rethrow at the end of a try block

This is normally done for all throwing opcodes before the switch, but
'end' is not considered a throwing opcode, which is why it needs special
handling.

Also clean up by factorizing the rethrow logic.

be3c012679 [sparkplug] Include calls in stack guard
Calculate the maximum call size in the bytecode pre-visit, and pass that
(along with the bytecode's frame size) to the prologue to be included in
the stack check. This avoids doing a stack check before each call, and
mirrors a similar optimisation in TurboFan.

Also, use StackGuardWithGap instead of StackGuard, to make sure that
stack overflows in the prologue actually trigger stack overflows in the
runtime.

07db5a650e Reland "[TurboFan] Move FunctionTemplateInfo to never serialized"
This reverts commit c85b7a449d.

16d9298a9c [api] Add callback to set up conditional features
Origin trials allow webpages to use experimental features even though
the features are not yet enabled by default. These features will then
get enabled per execution context: it is possible that the feature is
enabled in one execution context but disabled in another execution
context. In V8 we check for origin trials by calling a callback provided
by the embedder that takes the context as a parameter and returns
whether a feature is enabled in this context or not.

This approach fails when a feature changes the context itself, e.g. by
extending the global object. In that case the context is not available
yet to check for the origin trial.

To solve the problem this CL adds a new API function that can be called
by the embedder to notify V8 that context with the origin trial
information is finished. After that V8 can read the origin trial
information from the context and extend e.g. the global object with the
origin trial features.

Additionally to the API this CL also adds code to enable the
WebAssembly.Exception constructor conditionally, depending on whether
it has been enabled by an origin trial or not.

f6ee9ed045 [turbofan] Introduce LoadImmutable, use it in wasm compiler
LoadImmutable represents a load from a position in memory that is known
to be immutable, e.g. an immutable IsolateRoot or an immutable field of
a WasmInstanceObject. Because the returned value cannot change through
the execution of a function, LoadImmutable is a pure operator and does
not have effect or control edges.
This will allow more aggressive optimizations of loads of fields of
the Isolate and Instance that are known to be immutable.
Requires that the memory in question has been initialized at function
start even through inlining.

Note: We may reconsider this approach once we have escape analysis for
wasm, and replace it with immutable load/initialize operators that live
inside the effect chain and are less restriced.

This CL implements
https://github.com/tc39/proposal-top-level-await/pull/159, which reached
consensus at the March 2021 TC39.

The high-level intent is for parent modules that depend on async modules
to remember the DFS post-order such that when their async dependency
finishes, they execute in that original post-order. This aligns the
ordering between completely sync module graphs and async module graphs.

ec81d82d16 Reland "[turbofan] Optimize TrapIf/Unless in BranchElim. and CommonOp-Reducer"
This is a reland of a3b1233e16

Changes compared to original commit:
- Use a more canonical way to replace TrapIf/Unless nodes that always
trap. This fixes the issue where their outputs were marked dead even
  if they were Merge/Loop nodes.
- Use Throw() over Return() to connect a dangling trap to End().
- Add regression test.

c0ee8f905b [wasm][inspector] Don't use Script::source_url to store URL.
The `Script::source_url` field holds the value of the magic
`//# sourceURL` comment if found, and the `Script::name` field is
supposed to hold the actual name of the resource (as provided by
the embedder ideally), in case of Chromium that's supposed to be
the URL (in case of Node.js it's often the local path).

Using `source_url` worked by chance so far, but for loading DWARF
symbol files correctly we need the initiator (which we pick from
the embedderName of the Script as reported to DevTools). More
importantly, the partial handling of `//# sourceURL` in V8 is a
layering violation and causes trouble in DevTools, i.e. when users
put relative paths here. So as part of refactoring and correctifying
the handling of `//# sourceURL`, we need to make sure that the embedder
provided name (the URL in case of Chromium) is always stored in the
`Script::name` field.

Calls with a spread expression in a non-final position get transformed

Do this transform in the BytecodeGenerator instead.

0ee6f90a5f [regalloc] Fix slot requirement for live ranges defined by a const
Live ranges defined by a constant operand normally don't require a spill
slot since they can just rematerialize the value from the constant. In
the attached issue however, deoptimization adds an explicit slot
requirement for a range that is defined by a constant operand. This case
is not expected in the register allocator and we eventually hit a
DCHECK.

This fix allocates a new stack slot during the MeetRegisterConstraints

d16eefe0f2 [wasm-simd] Canonicalize shuffles when creating TurboFan graph
We currently canonicalize shuffles in the architecture specific
instruction selector. This has the drawback that if we want to pattern
match on nodes that have a shuffle as input, they need to individually
canonicalize the shuffle. There can also be a subtle bug if we
canonicalize the same shuffle node twice (see bug for details).

This moves the canonicalization to "construction time", in
wasm-compiler, when building the graph. As such, any pattern matches in
instruction-selector will only need to deal with canonicalized shuffles.

We introduce a new kind of parameter for shuffle nodes,
ShuffleParameter, to store the 16 bytes plus a bool indicating if this
is a swizzle. A swizzle essentially: inputs to the shuffle are the same
or all indices only touch 1 input. We calculate this when
canonicalizing, so store this bit of information inside of the node's
parameter.

We update the tests in x64 to handle special cases where, even though
the node's inputs are not swapped (due to canonicalization), they need
to be swapped for the specific instruction selected (e.g. palignr). The
test data also contains canonicalized shuffles, so we have to manually
canonicalize them.

1e606cb6e9 Reland "[wasm] Emit safepoint info for callee-saved registers in the deopt-index"
The original CL was reverted because PC authentication was missing for
the `caller_pc` in the stack walk. This caused a crash on the CFI bot.

PS1 is the original CL, later patch sets contain the fix.

Original Message:

[wasm] Emit safepoint info for callee-saved registers in the deopt-index

Encode safepoint info of callee-saved registers in the deopt index of
the normal safepoint.

d76064df4f cppgc: Rework GC info creation
Previously, GCInfoTrait relied on the non-trivial constructor of a
static object for registering a new GCInfo object. The generated code
is required to be thread-safe which is achieved by introducing guard
variables in the compiler.

The new version is similar to Blink in that it relies on zero
initialization of a trivially constructible atomic.

Compared to guard variables that are created per GCInfo registration,
the atomic creates less bloat (~20bytes/type) and also results in a
better fast path.

5618ef1fdc [sparkplug][x64][arm64] Support shorter builtin calls, pt.1
This is a speed-for-memory tradeoff, which can be achieved by
re-mapping the builtins code blob into existing code range.

The feature can be enabled by v8_enable_short_builtin_calls flag and
it's off by default.

This CL adds GN flag and updates code generator to emit shorter
pc-relative calls/jumps to builtins. However, the runtime doesn't
support appearance of the off-heap builtins' PCs that point to the
embedded code blob on the stack yet.

4c17394d67 Reland: [compiler] Cache StateValue processing in InstructionSelector.
Processing StateValues into operands is one of the most costly
parts of instruction selection. As it happens, StateValues are
shared by many nodes, and so we are unecessarily reprocessing
the same StateValues multiple times. This CL introduces caching
for the processed StateValues enabling very fast emitting of
operands for subsiquent instructions with the same StateValue.
The hitrate for the cache is higher than 90% on most optimizations.

a7c8a3ea9b [debugger] Consider close-by functions when setting a breakpoint
This changes the behavior of SetBreakpointForScript to find more
accurate break positions.

Previously, setting a breakpoint would only consider the shared
function info that contained the requested position for setting a
breakpoint. More intuitively, a breakpoint should not necessarily
be set in a function that contains the position, but in the closest
breakable location that comes after the position we requested.

To achieve this we:
1. find the shared function info of the inner most function
that contains the requested_position.
This function's end position is used to find other shared function
infos in step 2.

2. search for all shared function infos that intersect with the
range [requested_position, inner_most_function.break_position[.

3. From the shared function infos extracted in 2, find the one
that has the closest breakable location to requested_position.

d8c8387a59 [logging] Fix printing of single-byte enums
We still get e.g. ClusterFuzz reports with enums printed as
non-printable single-character strings (see linked bug).
This CL fixes this, and also includes the integral enum value for enum
that come with their own output operator.

This makes error messages strictly better, at the cost of some more code
per enum which is being used in a CHECK/DCHECK.
Note that binary size of release builds is not affected, since we do not
print the values there.

3329cbc8eb Enable FLAG_feedback_allocation_on_bytecode_size
This flag enables feedback allocation heuristics to be based on the
function size. The threshold for feedback allocation is set to
12 * bytecode size to roughly mimic the allocation after 12 invocations.

We tried 4 * bytecode size earlier and there were few memory regressions
on real world pages. Speedometer improved by ~1% [1, 2]. This time
trying with a higher factor this time to see if we still have
speedometer improvements without any memory regressions.
