d9285da2a8 By default disable the general protection fault message box when 
running tests on Windows. This requires 

Added the option --win-error-box to enable general protection fault
message box which can be convenient when debugging failing tests on
Windows.

Added crash detection when running tests on Windows. The output
is not fully polished but crashed indications are printed for the
different progess indicators.

Changed the OS::Abort on Windows from generating a "crash" (int3)
to calling abort(). This is to avoid tests which are known to fail
with out of memory errors to be detected as crashed tests.

35939fd987 Track whether a node or variable are likely to be a Smi value. Propagate that 
knowledge in the AST and inline the Smi check into the generated code if it
is deemed high value (e.g. in loops).

9d9f608a38 - Added caching of regexp data in the compilation cache. 
- Changed the structure of regexp objects from having two internal
  fields to having a single field containing a fixed array, since it's
  easier to store the whole fixed array in the cache.
- Move printing of the command to after printing std{err,out} in the
  compact progress indicators in the test framework.

89c762edf4 Simplify CodeGenerator hierarchy by not using a base class. 
There is nothing virtual about a CodeGenerator since we
either generate code for one platform or for the other.

d759938461 Changed optimization from /Ox to the (more) commonly used /O2 (which includes 
/GF) in both SCons and Visual Studio build. There is not mesurable difference
neither in speed nor in code size.

Added whole program optimization to the SCons release build. This clutters the
linking of the samples a little with the option /LTCG. This option is not
strictly needed for linking, but if it is not specified the linker complaints
as it can see object files compiled with /GL and then restarts itself with
/LTCG which dosen't look very pretty.

d8eddaa0bd Enable string pooling in the VS release build. This saves 46k for a v8_shell_sample.exe, I didn't measure performance or the overall change to a Chromium build. I think this option should always make sense anyway, unless we're using some string constants incorrectly.

27e8ffe324 - Add support for building the ARM simulator version of V8 to the Xcode project. 
- Added new compilation-cache.[cc|h] files.
- Fixed log.cc to be able to build without ENABLE_LOGGING_AND_PROFILING defined.

The next step is to mirror the xcconfigs in a separate change.

77196c5771 This is a new static flag system, designed to have all flags in a central place, and compiled into the binary without requiring static constructors for registration. All flags are moved out of the specific modules and into flags.defs, with different sections for debug, release, etc. The flag variables are always defined. For example, a debug flag in release mode still exists, but is read only and set to the default value.

b5a72a1645 Generalized the EvalCache into a CompilationCache and enabled 
it for scripts too. In the context of Chromium, this should 
have a very positive impact on memory consumption for web apps
that run multiple tabs from the same domain with a lot of the
same JavaScript code.

For now, the cache retirement policy is really simple:
Whenever a mark-sweep collection is started we clear the
cache. This guarantees that this change will not have a
huge negative impact on memory consumption, but it may
not be ideal. We should consider a more sophisticated LRU
scheme.

30c8bc0ac3 Allow setting of a --simulator parameter when running tests. 
Passing "--simulator=arm" has the same effect as setting
"-S simulator=arm --arch=arm" and closely mirrors the behavior
of the scons build causing less confusion when running tests.

9a216515ac When the Mozilla tests are checked out of cvs in the recommended place the 
linter attempts to check them for style issues.  This is not helpful.  This
chance makes the presubmit linter skip the data directory where they are
located.

30e44ee4fd Allow a test that relies on non-standard timer resolution on Windows 
to fail on Windows.

Updated mozilla.status to use correct syntax for tests that are
allowed to fail in debug mode.

c470d9f05b Changed status file support for the tests. The testcfg.py script is 
now responsible for adding the status information for the tests in the
corresponding test suite.

Added status file from mjsunit tests.

Added tests for known bugs.

968facb9ff - Fixed issue when building samples and cctests on 64-bit machines. 
- Fixed mozilla test breakage caused by python's obscure module
  loading rules.
- Made sure test.py propagates test failures out as the exit code of
  the script.
- Remove runtime calls to get number constants. Remove Heap roots for
  some special numbers.
- Fix typo in accessors.h.
- Changes CopyMap to not copy descriptors.  Adds
  CopyMapRemoveTransitions that copies non-transition descriptors.
  Changes interface of DescriptorArray::Copy operations to simplify
  them.

05bbf90b3a Changed shell sample to take flags directly from the command-line. Added api call that implements this. 
Added better test support.

Added load, quit and version functions to the shell sample so it's easier to run benchmarks and tests.
