441c020229 [test] Enable spread-large-array/spread-large-string on lite mode
These tests were timing out because we used to miss to runtime when
storing keyed properties in lite mode. Now, the store ICs are updated to
use fast path when possible even with lite mode. So, these should no longer
timeout

9439a1d2bb [ast] Always visit all AST nodes, even dead nodes
We'll let the bytecode compiler and optimizing compilers deal with dead code,
rather than the ast visitors. The problem is that the visitors previously
disagreed upon what was dead. That's bad if necessary visitors omit parts of
the code that the bytecode generator will actually visit.

I did consider removing the AST nodes immediately in the parser, but that
adds overhead and actually broke code coverage. Since dead code shouldn't be
shipped to the browser anyway (and we can still omit it later in the bytecode
generator), I opted for keeping the nodes instead.

01dc5707e4 [wasm] Generate code for the table.get and table.set instructions
This CL contains the following changes:
(1) Allocate memory for WasmTables in the WasmInstance.
    - We extend the WasmInstance by a FixedArray which stores
      references to the WasmTables.
(2) Rename the name of the backing store of WasmTables from `functions`
    to `elements`.
    - The name `functions` just does not fit anyref tables.
(3) Generate code with TurboFan for table.get and table.set.
(4) Extend wasm-module-builder.js to be able to generate modules with
    multiple tables.
(5) Add mjsunit tests to test table.get and table.set.

Given a map, its HasNonInstancePrototype bit in bit_field can differ

return false from the equivalence check. (Currently, we just assert
that bit_field is the same for a map and its root map.)

486ec80a7d [parser] Reset expression_scope_ stack to nullptr when parsing a function body
That way we can properly walk the active ambiguous stack of expressions and
stop where it's non-ambiguous. In the bug we would have forced context
allocation of "this" in an outer function because an inner function was parsed
as part of an arrow function head and "this" was referenced. That caused the
ambiguous arrow head scope to be marked, even though the reference came from a
non-ambiguous function.

82d240c736 [test] Introduce assertThrowsAsync
We often use raw assertPromiseResult with {success ==
assertUnreachable} for that. Having a separate helper increases
readability and allows us to generate consistent (and better) error
messages.

ea86509424 Constant field tracking for arrays.
This adds constant field tracking for arrays. To prevent changing the
field in some other elements-kind-branch of transition tree, we only
use the const information in the optimizing compiler if the map is not
an array map or if the map is stable (since stable maps cannot
transition to a different elements-kind-branch without deopt).

06ba822ead Map update for integrity level transitions.
This adds support for integrity level transitions (preventExtensions,
seal and freeze) to MapUpdater and Map::TryUpdate.

In both cases, we first try to detect whether there were integrity
level transitions in the transition tree to the old map and make note
of the most restrictive integrity transition and the map just before
the transition (integrity-source-map). Then we find an appropriate root
(based on integrity-source-map's elements kind) and replay the
transitions based on the integrity-source-map's descriptor
array. Finally, if we saw an integrity level transition in
the beginning, we will find-or-create that transition (on the
updated version of integrity-source-map).

For the following micro-benchmark, we get about 10x speedup.

```
function C() {
  this.x = 1;
  Object.seal(this);
  this.x = 0.1;
}
const start = Date.now();
for (let i = 0; i < 1e7; i++) {
  new C();
}
console.log("Reconfigure sealed: " + (Date.now() - start));
```

Before:
> Reconfigure sealed: 5202

After:
> Reconfigure sealed: 479

a9e93572d4 [test] Check for illegal uses of mjsunit methods
The assertThrows and assertDoesNotThrow methods expect either a
function to execute, or a string to eval. In several tests however we
accidentally passed the *result* of the statement to be tested instead
of the code.
This CL adds check to catch such error early, and removes wrong uses.
In most places, we do not need to use assertDoesNotThrow anyway,
because exceptions are handled as test failures.

Drive-by: Unify catch syntax in mjsunit.js and make sure to propagate
MjsUnitAssertionErrors correctly.

This CL replaces the current TypedArray#sort with a simpler mergesort.
The fastpath when the user does not provide a comparison function

In addition, TypedArray#sort now converts all elements in the
TypedArray to tagged values upfront, sorts them and writes them
back into the TypedArray as the final step.

3c3233e6f8 [wasm] js module-builder and constants improvements
Changes made to the Wasm module builder:
- Create emit_u64v for emitting a LEB128 that conceptually represent
an 64-bits integer.
- Differentiate toBuffer and toUint8Array for returning respectively
ArrayBuffer and a Uint8Array.
- Moved wasmF32Const and wasmF64Const functions because we can take
advantage of the existing cached conversion buffers. Also, declaring
them in the constants file will collide with the module-builder since
they are loaded in the same scope.
- The byte_view buffer (used by some conversions to bytes) switched from
Int8Array to Uint8Array.

Changes made to the Wasm contants:
- Add a new kSharedHasMaximumFlag flag for shared memory with a maximum
value.

b645a259bd [parser] Allow try {} catch (e) { for (var e of x) {} }
This patch changes the parser to allow for-of initializer
var-redeclaration of non-destructured catch parameters.

Previously, the spec allowed var-redeclaration of a
non-destructured catch parameter…

    try {} catch (e) { var e; }

…except in the particular case where the var declaration is
a for-of initializer:

    try {} catch (e) { for (var e of whatever) {} }

https://github.com/tc39/ecma262/pull/1393 removes this strange
exceptional case. This patch implements that change.

185922de91 [wasm] Distinguish requested tier and executed tier
During execution, the tier can be switch from Liftoff to TurboFan. We
already handle this in some locations by getting the tier before

In the case of the --wasm-tier-mask-for-testing flag, this accounting
was not right because the tier was already switched in the constructor.
This CL changes the compilation units to store both the requested and
the executed tier explicitly, so we know which counter to decrement
when the unit finishes.

258371bd44 [wasm][anyref] Support anyref stack parameters
Anyref parameters can exist across GC runs. Therefore the GC has to
know where anyref parameters are on the stack so that it can mark them
in its marking phase, and update them in the compaction phase.

Already in a previous CL we grouped all anyref parameters so that they
can be found more easily in a stack frame, see
https://crrev.com/c/1371827. In this CL we implement the stack scanning
itself.

Note that anyref parameters are not scanned while iterating over the
caller's frame (to which they actually belong), but while iterating
over the callee's frame. The reason is that with tail-calls, only the
callee knows how many tagged stack parameters (aka anyref parameters)
there are.

5d587693a6 [wasm][anyref] Implement sub-typing of anyref, anyfunc, and nullref
For the reference types anyref, anyfunc, and nullref, there exist

A reference type reftype1 matches a reference type reftype2 if and only
if:

* Either both reftype1 and reftype2 are the same.
* Or reftype1 is nullref.
* Or reftype2 is anyref.

This CL introduces the type nullref for ref-null, and implements the
sub-typing rules in the function-body-decoder.

Note that because of the sub-typing check validation performance may
regresses. In that case we can optimize the sub-typing check.

e38faab1c7 [array] Remove CHECK_LE from RemoveArrayHolesGeneric
This CL removes a CHECK_LE that does not hold in all cases. After
moving all elements to the front, current_pos will point to the next
free spot. In the case where an object is 'packed', i.e. each index
has a non-undefined value, and the length is smaller then the max
index, current_pos will be greater than the length (limit in the code).

Sidenote: The block after taking the minimum (where the counted
undefineds get set) will not be affected. In the case where
num_undefined > 0, current_pos should be guaranteed to be smaller
than limit, as long there are no accessors with side-effects.

4bf28a33ee [array] Fix prototype chain interaction in sort pre-processing
This CL fixes two bugs. First, when looking for a free spot while
moving elements to the front, the prototype chain was also considered,
even though an object at a specific index might have a hole (free
spot).

Second, when moving an element to the front, we are not allowed to
delete it immediately (to preserve semantics when interacting with
non-extensible objects). Such an element is then a free spot, but
won't be recognised as such. This CL sets that element to undefined
after it was moved, to mark it as a free spot.

8436715fe6 [parser] Give hoisting sloppy block functions a valid position
A sloppy function in a block scope implicitily creates a var in the outer
declaration scope if it's not blocked. The assignment created reads the local
lexical declaration for the function. The reference introduced automatically
takes part in NeedsHoleCheck, requiring the reference to have a valid position.
Since the assignment will happen after the local declaration, we give the
end_position() of the closure as the position of the reference, so hole checks
can be omitted.

b3e6013eb4 [wasm][anyref] Support importing mutable anyref globals
With this CL we support importing mutable anyref globals. The CL
contains the following changes:

* We store a reference to the buffer of the imported global in
  `WasmInstance::imported_mutable_globals_buffer`. This FixedArray is
  already used to keep the ArrayBuffers of value-typed imported
  mutable globals alive but was not accessed otherwise.

* We store the offset in the buffer of the imported global in
  `WasmInstance::imported_mutable_globals`. This `Address`-array is
  used for value-typed imported mutalbe globals to store direct
  pointers into the backing store of the ArrayBuffer of the imported
  global.

* In wasm-compiler.cc we generate code to load these fields and then
  load or store globals.

* in module-compiler.cc I removed the counter variable
  `next_imported_mutable_global_index`. The variable was only used for
  a DCHECK. I replaced the DCHECK with a slightly weaker DCHECK now.

* Tests.

97cdf35f4a [wasm] Implement table.drop
The table.drop bytecode "drops" the backing storage for an element
initializer. In the V8 implementation, this is a nop, other than
updating a per-instance boolean array so that two drops of the same
segment or a drop of an active segment will trap.

This is implemented with inline code in TurboFan in order to be symmetric
to memory.drop, but could as easily be a runtime call to be supported in
Liftoff.

6d3d8f7be6 [wasm] Add runtime call plumbing for Table operations.
This CL adds two new runtime calls for table operations:
  - Runtime_WasmTableInit
  - Runtime_WasmTableCopy

These runtime calls (will) implement the semantics for the corresponding
bytecodes from the bulk memory proposal. The actual implementation
of these runtime calls will be done in further CLs.

The third table operation, table.drop, will be implemented with inline
code, similar to memory.drop. This is also be done in a further CL.

df6f5f6b69 [parser] Check assignment LHS for paren errors
It is not legal for destructuring patterns and identifiers in declarations
to be in parentheses. This includes nested patterns/identifiers inside
another pattern.

We were checking sub-patterns for parentheses when parsing possible
sub-patterns, but this check missed sub-patterns with a default
initialiser (e.g. [({x:y})=1] = {}), as the AssignmentExpression hid
the pattern.

So, we now additionally record declaration/pattern errors of an assignment
LHS when parsing the assignment cover grammar.

7fbbce5fa1 [ignition] Fix iteration finalization exception suppression
The IteratorClose spec specifies that exceptions in
%GetMethod(iterator.return) are not suppressed by exceptions in the
given continuation (body of a loop, assignments in destructuring),
while exceptions in the execution of iterator.return() are.

This means that we have to split out the property access + a typeof
check to be outside the try-catch, and keep the call inside of it.

The non-split version is only for cases when there is no 'throws'
continuation (as is the case for yield* calling IteratorClose), so
the existing BuildIteratorClose can be renamed to reflect this.

The unwinding info writer was assuming that a block that had no initial

block was the start or end by asserting that the block had either
no predecessors or no successors. Loop rotation breaks this assumption,
since it can move a block from inside a loop to before the loop
header, and the block can then be the "start" block. But since
such a block has both predecessor(s) and a successor, the check was
wrong.

This can be verified by running the test under GC stress and changing the

values for which the test passes.

We currently trigger a GC when creating a module while the remaining
uncommitted code space is below 32MB. For bigger modules, this is not
enough. Instead, make this limit relative: Trigger GC if we fall below

to avoid repeated GCs that do not free anything.

20b6330037 [Liftoff] Keep consistent register mapping in non-merged regions
We currently de-duplicate used registers also in regions which do not
need merging. In those regions though it can never happen that we need
to pass different values from any merge input. Apart from introducing
unnecessary register moves, this also causes a DCHECK to fail, because
we might later want to merge back different registers into one.

Assume this initial stack state (where each letter is a register):
[A B B C]
If in any child block the two Bs get de-duplicated so something like
[A B D C]
then we run into trouble when merging back this state into the parent
state, because both B and D would need to be put into B.
In this case we can statically infer that B and D must hold the same
value anyway, but having this situation does not make much sense in the
first place, so the DCHECK fires correctly.

14faced4c0 [Liftoff] Fix moving stack values
On x64 the {kScratchRegister} cannot be held in a {LiftoffRegister},
since it is not a valid cache register. Also, the code unnecessarily
checked whether there is an unused cache register, but then didn't use
it. Simplify the logic to always use the scratch register, just
distinguish between 4-byte and 8-byte moves.
On ia32 we did not move 64-bit values correctly if we didn't have
unused registers and needed to move via the stack.

9365d0904e [coverage] Rework continuation counter handling
This changes a few bits about how continuation counters are handled.

It introduces a new mechanism that allows removal of a continuation
range after it has been created. If coverage is enabled, we run a first
post-processing pass on the AST immediately after parsing, which
removes problematic continuation ranges in two situations:

1. nested continuation counters - only the outermost stays alive.
2. trailing continuation counters within a block-like structure are
   removed if the containing structure itself has a continuation.

89a64f04d1 [parser] Eagerly throw pattern error even if we lazily throw lhs error for calls
We don't eagerly throw for assignments to calls; see v8:4480. They are simply
turned into assignments to Property instead. We need to record a declaration
error, however. Otherwise we'll end up with a Property in a declaration
context.

To reduce the scope of the lazy throwing, in this fix I record a pattern error
instead, making calls as assignment target in a destructuring assignment
context throw eagerly.

a5f559c3f8 [parser] Change how catch is parsed
- Directly declares the special catch variable from the parser-base.
- Tracks Scope on PreParserBlock and finds conflicting lexical declarations by
  simply walking the VariableMap of the block inserted for the pattern; or the
  catch variable in case of identifier.
- This also enables throwing errors for duplicate let in the preparser. We may
  have to back that out if it breaks something.

2ea009086f Fix ObjectToString builtin to work for subclasses
When we call ObjectToString on JSValues we only looked at string tags
on the prototype map of the JSValue's value type and do not check the
tags on the JSValue's prototype chain which may be non-trivial if
subclassing is involved. For ex: if we have a class Test extend Number,
we only looked for tags on the Number prototype and not on the Test
prototype. This cl fixes the builtin to also check for these cases.

d1b4e31bc5 [parser] Replacing ExpressionClassifier with ExpressionScope that knows what it's tracking
Since it's explicit what we're tracking, we can immediately throw errors in
certain cases, and ignore irrelevant errors. We don't need to use the
classifier itself to track "let let", since we know whether we're parsing a
"let". Errors that were previously (almost) always accumulated are now
immediately pushed to the scopes that care (parameter initialization errors).

This CL drops avoiding allocation of classified errors, at least for now, but
that doesn't affect performance anymore since we don't aggressively blacklist
anymore. Classified errors are even less likely with the more precise approach.

ParseAssignmentExpression doesn't introduce its own scope immediately, but
reuses the outer scope.

Rather than using full ExpressionClassifiers + Accumulate to separate
expressions/patterns from each other while keeping track of the overall error
state, this now uses an explicit AccumulationScope.

When we parse (async) arrow functions we introduce new scopes
that track that they may be (async) arrow functions.

We track StrictModeFormal parameters in 2 different ways if it isn't
immediately certain that it is a strict-mode formal error: Either directly on
the (Pre)ParserFormalParameters, or on the NextArrowFunctionInfo in the case
we're not yet certain that we'll have an arrow function. In the latter case we
don't have a FormalParameter object yet, and we'll copy it over once we know
we're parsing an arrow function. The latter works because it's not allowed to
change strictness of a function with non-simple parameters.

The logic for creating effect phis is already in the code, so

573e4120fb [wasm] Fix return from unreachable code
We hit a DCHECK in the wasm graph builder because the current SSA
environment is unreachable. We were using the wrong block (the target
block) to do the reachability check.

f68ee6e7e4 [typedarrays] Use Detach instead of Neuter
This is purely a renaming change. The ES spec uses the term 'detach'
for the process of removing the backing store of a typed array, while
V8 uses the historical term 'neuter'. Update our internal implementation,
including method names and flag names, to match the spec.

Note that some error messages still use the term 'neuter' since error
messages are asserted by some embedder tests, like layout tests.

The typing of SpeculativeSafeIntegerSubtract didn't include -0, and the
SimplifiedLowering rules for SpeculativeSafeIntegerSubtract didn't
properly handle the case of `-0 - 0`, but would always pass Word32
truncations.

ff6544c5b0 [wasm] fix js-api Memory and Table constructor
Fix and re-enable tests for WebAssembly's memory/constructor and
table/constructor js-api.

It introduces the '[EnforceRange] unsigned long' algorithm used
to validate initial and maximum properties.

The initial property is now required, by the switch to the Web IDL
specification. Most of the input validations errors are now considered
TypeError instead of RangeError.

The WasmTableObject and WasmMemoryObject APIs use more consistently uint32_t
to ensure integer range and remove the need for bounds checks.
