6dfa47b6b4 [test][cleanup] Rename WASM_*_GLOBAL to WASM_GLOBAL_*
The opcodes were renamed long ago, but the macros were still using the
old syntax.

This CL was created using the following script (for WASM_GET_GLOBAL and
WASM_SET_GLOBAL):
ag -l WASM_GET_GLOBAL | xargs -L 1 sed -i 's/\bWASM_GET_GLOBAL\b/WASM_GLOBAL_GET/g'

68e8621d7e Use safe conversion helper to check conversion limits
This is similar to https://crrev.com/c/2466377, for all other checks for
numeric_limits found in the same file.

The check for float/double to uint32/uint64 doesn't seem to be
replaceable, due to this check:
https://source.chromium.org/chromium/chromium/src/+/master:v8/src/base/safe_conversions_impl.h;l=361;drc=c10c83c31ba0b774c3c05c73bb4894ba2495394b
We probably need something specific for converting to float/doubles.
I'll leave those as they are first.

0c918bd841 [wasm] Remove ExecutionTier::kInterpreter
The interpreter is not an execution tier in production any more. It's
only used in tests.
Thus, remove {ExecutionTier::kInterpreter} and instead add a
{TestExecutionTier} that still has {kInterpreter}.

If needed (in {TestingModuleBuilder::execution_tier()}), we translate
back from {TestExecutionTier} to {ExecutionTier} (for {kLiftoff} and
{kTurboFan} only).

The {TraceMemoryOperation} method, which is shared between interpreter
and production code, now receives a {base::Optional<ExecutionTier>}, and
we will just pass en empty optional if called from the interpreter.

This renaming is mostly mechanical.

PS1 was created using:

4df3db7b2e [wasm][ia32] Fix i64tof32 conversion on Windows
On Windows, the FP stack registers are used with less precision.
This causes rounding errors in the uint64 to float32 conversion.

This CL replaces the implementation based on FP stack registers
with an implementation based on bit operations. This implementation
is 2x slower than the original implementation.

An alternative would be to change the precision of the FP stack
registers just for the uint64 to float32 conversion. However, in a
micro-benchmark this is 5-6x slower than the original implementation.
It is also not clear if changing the precision could cause side
effects.

f0d69fc913 [test] Modernize value helpers
This CL changes the usage pattern from
FOR_XXX_VALUES(i) { Use(*i); }
to
FOR_XXX_VALUES(i) { Use(i); }
which is way more intuitive.

Note that the replacement in the uses was done via regular expression,
so it's purely mechanical. In two locations I removed unneeded braces
around the macro, because they confused clang-format.
I plan to do more cleanups (remove redundant assignments within the
FOR_XXX_VALUES body) in a follow-up CL.

8466b71ad8 [wasm] Split off wasm-linkage.h
Linkage-related methods were declared in wasm-compiler.h and
implemented in wasm-linkage.cc. This required all users of e.g. wasm
call descriptors to include the whole wasm compiler header. Also, some
wasm linkage information is independent of turbofan and also used
outside of the compiler directory.

This CL splits off wasm-linkage.h (with minimal includes) and puts it
in src/wasm. This allows to use that information without including
compiler headers (will clean up several uses in follow-up CLs).

f56e2a022f [wasm] enable StoreMem_offset_oob_i64 test with trap handlers
The first part of this change updates StoreMem_offset_oob_i64 to use one page of
Wasm memory, rather than just a few bytes. Using less than a page was out of
spec for Wasm anyway, so this is better.

This required a small change in the test runner to set and clear the
thread_in_wasm flag around Wasm calls. This was accomplished by a
ThreadInWasmScope convenience class.

The majority of the changes are because the cctest environment does not support
runtime exceptions. In the code generator, where we used to throw a
WasmMemOutOfBounds exception, we now need to call out to the test hook instead
if runtime exceptions are not supported. This involved plumbing the
runtime_exception_support flag down to the code generator. Rather than adding
and shuffling around extra parameters everywhere, this CL packages the previous
protected instruction list in a new WasmCompilationData object that now includes
the runtime_exception_support flag as well.

0d5de9ad9b [wasm] First step of refactoring trap handling to be per module.
The previous code assumed that trap handling was a global concept, defined
by function trap_handler::UseTrapHandler(). This CL does the first step
in changing the decision to be specifiable at a module level.

Therefore trap_handler::UseTrapHandler() is replaced by
trap_handler::IsTrapHandlerEnabled(), and communicates if compilation
supports the use of trap handlers (but still allowing the use of
bounds checking on memory accesses).

It then refactors the classes ModuleEnv and WasmCompiledModule to have
a field "use_trap_handler" that specifies if traps should be used for
the memory accesses in the module being compiled.

822be9b238 Normalize casing of hexadecimal digits
This patch normalizes the casing of hexadecimal digits in escape
sequences of the form `\xNN` and integer literals of the form

Previously, the V8 code base used an inconsistent mixture of uppercase
and lowercase.

Google’s C++ style guide uses uppercase in its examples:
https://google.github.io/styleguide/cppguide.html#Non-ASCII_Characters

Moreover, uppercase letters more clearly stand out from the lowercase
`x` (or `u`) characters at the start, as well as lowercase letters
elsewhere in strings.

17a8867023 [wasm] Allow traps in tests with many parameters in cctests
In the test-run-wasm and test-run-wasm-64 cctests it is not possible to

This CL unblocks

wanted to mitigate the problem in that CL by defining an additional

00f4b33a65 [arm][turbofan] Pass double immediate to vmov as uint64_t
On x86, signalling NaNs get converted to quiet NaNs when they get push
on the stack and popped again. This happens in the code generation for
arm, specifically for the vmov instruction with the immediate parameter.
This CL replaces the vmov function in assembler-arm to take the
immediate as a uint64_t instead of a double, to guarantee that the bit
pattern does not change even if the parameter is a signalling NaN.

53af0d1ad3 [wasm] Alignment information of wasm programs cannot be trusted
This CL removes code which is based on the assumption that if
WebAssembly code says that memory accesses are aligned, that they are
really aligned. On arm, memory accesses crashed when this assumption
was violated.

Most likely this CL will cause a performance regression on arm. At the
moment we plan to fix this regression eventually by using arm NEON
instructions in V8.

79570f87a1 [wasm] Do not use setjmp/longjmp in cctests.
The use of setjmp/longjmp makes the cctests in test-run-wasm and
test-run-wasm-64 flaky on Windows, and I think that it is better not
to use it. With this CL I replace it as follows:

Similar to the setjmp/longjmp implementation we still call a C
function when a trap happens. However, instead of calling longjmp in
this C function we just set a flag which indicates that a trap
happened and then return. After we return from the C function we leave
the frame of the current wasm function and return with a RET
instruction. At the end of a test the wasm test runner checks the flag
to see if a trap happened.

Please take a special look at the LeaveFrame function on arm64.
