04b1baa4c4 We no longer need to recover type cells from the oracle.
We only need the values within them. Function calls to Array from optimized code needed the cell in the past, but no longer.

431dcc9342 Moving logic to AstNode to determine how many type cells are required.
With this change, we'll be able to discover how many type cells we
need at parse time, enabling future optimizations.

7baadbfac1 FunctionLiteral has work to do in the typing phase.
In crankshaft, we searched un-optimized code for a SharedFunctionInfo
that matches the FunctionLiteral we are processing. Ideally, this
work should be done in the typing phase.

81b22bbf96 A performance regression in array literal creation was caused by refactoring that eliminated a special fast case for shallow arrays. At the same time the general case got a bit slower. This CL restores most of the performance without coding the special fast case. The virtual dispatching is unnecessary because we know what we want to do at compile time. A flag was added to Runtime::CreateArrayLiteral. The flags delivers information about shallowness but also whether or not allocation mementos should be created. This is useful for crankshafted code.

b90d87c382 MaterializedLiteral expressions need to cache expression depth.
A problem arises in recursive literal expressions due to recent
changes that defer allocation of constant literal properties
from parse time. We were calculating expression depth as a
side-effect of a lazy constant property build, but subsequent
calls for the depth always returned 1. Cache the correct depth
in the MaterializedLiteral instead.

acac89008d Defer allocation of constant literal properties.
This moves building of constant properties and elements arrays for all
materialized literals into the compiler. The parser no longer allocates
while parsing ObjectLiteral and ArrayLiteral expressions.

19d716989e Unify handling of position info in AST, part 1
* AstNode now has a position info.
* Removed various ad-hoc position infos from subclasses (most of which had it).
* Position is always set with the constructor, instead of later.
* Take care to use kNoPosition in the right spots, to not crash the debugger.

Still to do:

* Eliminate Conditional::then/else_position and WhileStatement::condition_position.
* Make CaseClause a proper AstNode and eliminate its custom position.
* If possible, eliminate all uses of kNoPosition.

bbd26abedb Functions may not be optimized and we would like to know in cpu profiler what was the reason.
Current v8 implementation may disable optimization for a particular function or block it with help of dont_optimize flag.
The patch propagates the reason of that to the SharedFunctionInfo where cpu profiler can get it.

SharedFunctionInfo is a heap object so I extracted 8 bits from OptsCount for handling bailout reason code.

02649f08bc Implement simple effect typing for variables
For that, we maintain an abstract store typing of all variables with LOCAL location (i.e., those that do not escape the function's own scope). We treat assignments as sequential effects that modify this store.

When control flow branches, we have to compute the disjunction of possible effects. To that end, we represent the store as a stack of effect sets, such that we can cheaply push and pop "local" effects when control flow has to branch.

In cases of non-local control transfer from an unknown source, we currently erase all knowledge about the store.

The 'switch' statement is still to come.

6fda4e4c28 Collect type feedback in separate pass and store it in AST
Notes:

- For now, just adds the missing type info fields to the AST nodes directly.
  I'd like to factor that out more nicely in a follow-up CL.

- All type feedback now is uniformly collected through AST nodes'
  RecordTypeFeedback functions. At some point, this logic should be moved
  out of ast.cc.

- The typing pass currently simulates the exact same conditions under
  which feedback was collected in Hydrogen before. That also should be
  made more generic in the future.

- Type information itself is unchanged. Making it more regular is
  yet more future work.

Some additional cleanups:

- Lifted out nested class ObjectLiteral::Property, to enable forward declaration.
- Moved around some auxiliary enums.

885fd2f4b2 Fix yield inside with
This patch makes it so that suspending generators always saves the
context.  Previously we erroneously assumed that if the operand stack
was empty, that the context would be unchanged, but that is not the case
with "with".

Fixing this brought out an interesting bug in the variable allocator.
Yield inside with will reference a context-allocated temporary holding
the generator object.  Before the fix, this object was looked up in the
with context instead of the function context, because with contexts were
not being simulated during full-codegen.  Previously this was OK as all
variables would be given LOOKUP allocation instead of CONTEXT, but the
context-allocated temporary invalidated this assumption.  The fix is to
simulate the context chain more accurately in full-codegen.

2816f19680 Add parser support for generators.
This patchset begins by adding support for "yield", which is unlike other tokens
in JS. In a generator, whether strict or classic, it is a syntactic keyword.
In classic mode it is an identifier. In strict mode it is reserved.

This patch adds YIELD as a token to the scanner, and adapts the preparser and
parser appropriately. It also parses "function*", indicating that a function is
actually a generator, for both eagerly and lazily parsed functions.

Currently "yield" just compiles as "return".

55f93b5532 Renamed "symbols" to "internalized strings" throughout the code base,
in preparation of the introduction of ES6 'symbols' (aka private/unique names).

The SymbolTable became the StringTable. I also made sure to adapt all comments. The only remaining use of the term "symbol" (other than unrelated uses in the parser and such) is now 'NewSymbol' in the API and the 'V8.KeyedLoadGenericSymbol' counter, changing which might break embedders.

The one functional change in this CL is that I removed the former 'empty_string' constant, since it is redundant given the 'empty_symbol' constant that we also had (and both were used inconsistently).
