2203a37c5d Replace CHECK(false) by UNREACHABLE()
... or sometimes by FATAL(...) to give a better error message.
The benefit of UNREACHABLE() over CHECK(false) is that the compiler
knows that this macro will never return, hence we can omit the return
of a dummy value afterwards.

f4dde20044 [simulator] Refactor redirections to be process-wide.
This refactors the list of redirections of runtime call targets that
simulators maintain to be process-wide (as opposed to be per Isolate).
Such redirections are used for static C++ call targets which themselves
are process-wide, which makes this model a closer fit. Access is already
properly synchronized via a mutex.

Along the way this also introduces the {SimulatorBase} class as a common
base class for all simulator implementations.

Also avoid changing --turbo-filter when --no-opt is set, and instead

8d921ca7f3 [turbofan] Remove --turbo shorthand for --turbo-filter.
This removes the --turbo flag and solely relies on the filter pattern
provided via --turbo-filter when deciding whether to use TurboFan. Note
that disabling optimization wholesale can still be done with --no-opt,
which should be used in favor of --no-turbo everywhere.

Also note that this contains semantic changes to the TurboFan activation
criteria. We respect the filter pattern more stringently and no longer
activate TurboFan just because the source contains patterns forcing use
of Ignition via {AstNumberingVisitor::DisableFullCodegenAndCrankshaft}.

v8::V8::InitializePlatform is called.

a0198c0f62 Reland: Create libsampler as V8 sampler library.
This patch does five things:

1. Extracts sampler as libsampler to provide sampling functionality support.
2. Makes SampleStack virtual so embedders can override the behaviour of sample collecting.
3. Removes sampler.[h|cc].
4. Moves sampling thread into log.cc as workaround to keep the --prof functionality.
5. Creates SamplerManager to manage the relationship between samplers and threads.

The reason we port hashmap.h is that in debug mode, STL containers are using
mutexes from a mutex pool, which may lead to deadlock when using asynchronously
signal handler.

Currently libsampler is used in V8 temporarily.

65c8ecc65e [heap] Avoid overzealous inclusion of heap internal headers.
This is a first step towards constraining down the heap interface to
just the heap.h file. Note that many includes still leak through that
file to the global "src" directory, but there now is a single place
controlling which declarations leak that way. Especially inclusion of
inline header files within "heap" has been limited drastically.

4f5337a2b6 Cosmetic changes to tests to make it easier to concatenate them.
When compiling on a laptop I like to concatenate the small test files.
This makes a big difference to compile times. These changes make that
easier.

8924a9e1b7 [turbofan] Add single --turbo flag.
This flag is intended as a staging flag for TurboFan. It serves as a
single flag that always enables a most recent configuration of TurboFan
for test suites and benchmarks, without needing to update test drivers.

27f3cc1b9c Require V8 to be explicitly initialized before an Isolate is created
We also initialize the Isolate on creation.

This should allow for getting rid of the last remaining default isolate
traces. Also, it'll speed up several isolate related operations that no
longer require locks.

Embedders that relied on v8::Isolate to return an uninitialized Isolate
(so they can set ResourceConstraints for example, or set flags that
modify the way the isolate is created) should either do the setup before
creating the isolate, or use the recently added CreateParams to pass e.g.
ResourceConstraints.

c53097a632 Fix memory leak. Make "V8 Linux - memcheck" build bot happy.
Flags::SetFlagsFromCommandLine allocates memory to hold copies of string
arguments when calling Flag::set_string_value(..., true) and presently
noone deallocates this. Resetting the flags will clear this memory.
Since Flags can be used throughout the entire V8 lifetime,
Dispose/Teardown seems like the right location to free this
memory.

This is rarely a problem in practice, but the memcheck buildbot (rightly)
complains.

ca16bb7ae2 Split out libplatform into a separate libary
Also remove the "use default platform" compile flag. Instead, the embedder
has to provide the platform.

Change all binaries to use the default platfrom from libplatform.

Unless --job-based-sweeping is passed, nothing uses the platform yet, so
nothing will break for embedders (yet).
