06bfc8421b [Release] Update merge script to leverage auto-tag bot 
The auto-tag bot removes the need to handle version changes
in each merge individually. As a result this 'feature' is
removed.

9dac60ad2d Add public version macros. 
Side note: tools/v8-info.sh seems to have been broken ever
since the move to git.  At least it's not more broken now.

ae22d7f873 External name changes of release scripts. 
Moved and renamed the scripts to fit with git.

These changes require documentation updates, updates of
the release spreadsheet and the buildbot side.
