eb8e1d9d0e Change test script to make it easy to run crankshaft tests on ARM and 
x64 where crankshaft is not the default. Add ability to add custom
expectations for running in this special crankshaft mode.

The expectations are not updated in this change. There are a couple of
bugs that I would like to fix before doing that. Otherwise the lists
will be very long. :)

3543dd53a4 Refactor the tools/test.py script and related testcfg.py files. 
This makes it possible to run several variants of the tests (with different flags that is) by adding extra lists to the VARIANT_FLAGS list. In addition, there is a number of smaller refactorings.

40cef2dc6b Lift filtering of the test higher as otherwise we can get 
empty list of tests to run after the filtering and
would actually die with division by 0.

And there was a type (|c| instead of |case|) which is fixed too.

d50fbb634e Fix bug that meant that dependent tests were never reported as 
failing (though they could still crash).
(Cache the result of the test in the output object, not in the
test object which is reused from the prerequisite to the dependent.)

32b0e47fa5 Add automatic tests for Tick Processor, take two. 
Now tests can be run from any directory. Location of test data is now determined using test file location provided by 'testcfg.py' script.

Tested under Linux, Mac, and Windows.

aacd90314f Reland exception propagation fix. 
Fix exception propagation problem where undefined was returned instead
of an empty handle in case of an exception.  This problem can break
C++ programs that are not interested in catching exceptions and just
want to propagate them out by testing for empty handles.

The issue is that exceptions are not rescheduled if they are
externally caught.  Externally caught exceptions have to be
rescheduled if there is a JavaScript frame on the way to the C++ frame
that holds the external handler.

A couple of tests will fail on the ARM simulator because the simulator
has separate stacks for C++ and JavaScript.  I have marked the tests
as failing only on the simulator.

bc3fb11881 Add basic infrastructure for protecting V8's heap when leaving the VM 
and unprotecting it when (re)entering.  The functionality is enabled
by the flag --protect-heap and requires V8 to be built with
ENABLE_HEAP_PROTECTION and ENABLE_LOGGING_AND_PROFILING defined.

Implemented on Linux and Windows but not yet for other platforms.

6ace05ed2a Issue 63: Running tests fails of there is a dot in the checkout path 
Patch by Matt Hanselman (http://codereview.chromium.org/27086). Pass in the module's filename while loading rather than the full path (so call to load_module now matches find_module).  Otherwise dots in path name get mistaken for file suffixes.

Added Matt Hanselman to AUTHORS file.

8b45db89d6 Changed the handling of Win32 function SetErrorMode to be more correct. The flag to prevent error dialogs is now merged with existing flags, and the error mode is now reset which it was not before.

7cf09d8860 Changed the parsing a conditional expression in a test status file to look for 'if' and not 'IF' as all the status files use 'if'.

d9285da2a8 By default disable the general protection fault message box when 
running tests on Windows. This requires 

Added the option --win-error-box to enable general protection fault
message box which can be convenient when debugging failing tests on
Windows.

Added crash detection when running tests on Windows. The output
is not fully polished but crashed indications are printed for the
different progess indicators.

Changed the OS::Abort on Windows from generating a "crash" (int3)
to calling abort(). This is to avoid tests which are known to fail
with out of memory errors to be detected as crashed tests.

9d9f608a38 - Added caching of regexp data in the compilation cache. 
- Changed the structure of regexp objects from having two internal
  fields to having a single field containing a fixed array, since it's
  easier to store the whole fixed array in the cache.
- Move printing of the command to after printing std{err,out} in the
  compact progress indicators in the test framework.

30c8bc0ac3 Allow setting of a --simulator parameter when running tests. 
Passing "--simulator=arm" has the same effect as setting
"-S simulator=arm --arch=arm" and closely mirrors the behavior
of the scons build causing less confusion when running tests.

30e44ee4fd Allow a test that relies on non-standard timer resolution on Windows 
to fail on Windows.

Updated mozilla.status to use correct syntax for tests that are
allowed to fail in debug mode.

132a2cd1c3 Added presubmit step that runs cpplint and checks for missing 
copyrights.  Fixed some lint issues in the samples.  Added better

c470d9f05b Changed status file support for the tests. The testcfg.py script is 
now responsible for adding the status information for the tests in the
corresponding test suite.

Added status file from mjsunit tests.

Added tests for known bugs.

968facb9ff - Fixed issue when building samples and cctests on 64-bit machines. 
- Fixed mozilla test breakage caused by python's obscure module
  loading rules.
- Made sure test.py propagates test failures out as the exit code of
  the script.
- Remove runtime calls to get number constants. Remove Heap roots for
  some special numbers.
- Fix typo in accessors.h.
- Changes CopyMap to not copy descriptors.  Adds
  CopyMapRemoveTransitions that copies non-transition descriptors.
  Changes interface of DescriptorArray::Copy operations to simplify
  them.
