0a31d508f1 [tools] Teach v8_debug_helper where heap spaces start in ptr-compr mode
v8_debug_helper attempts to flag known object pointers when it can
recognize them, even if the memory pointed to is not available in the
crash dump. In ptr-compr builds, the first pages of the map space,
read-only space, and old space are always at the same offsets within the
heap reservation region, so we can more easily detect known objects.

2f8361d4f3 [regexp] Multiple interpreter executions tier-up
This CL implements the tier-up strategy where the interpreter can be used for
an arbitrary number of executions for every regex, before tiering-up to the
compiler. The only exception is for functional global replaces, where we
eagerly tier-up to native code right away.

To use the tier-up logic --regexp-tier-up=value needs to be set. It is
currently set to 0 by default.

f87505ca3e [wasm][bigint] Allow only bigints as i64-global imports
The fuzzer found a crash when we want to execute the {valueOf} function
of an imported value for an i64-global. The problem is that we cannot
execute JavaScript at that moment (I did not check why, I guess we open
some scope at some point). I checked the WebAssembly spec now, and it
defines that only numbers are valid values for imported globals. I
adjust our bigint implementation accordingly with this CL, i.e. that
only bigint values are valid as imported i64-globalsl.
I also created github issues to discuss this problem.

8d10768442 Avoid defining class name Label as type alias in cctest because it is used by V8
It is not recommended to define type alias in C++ header file. cctest defines
type alias `using Label=CodeAssemblerLabel` in anonymous namespace under
namespace `v8::internal::compiler` in test-code-assembler.cc. This is fine
because this type alias is expected to take effect only in this .cc file. But in
jumbo build, multiple source files are combined as a single one, and the
previous `Label` type alias could shadow definition of `Label` from other header
file (for example, v8/src/codegen/label.h which is included by another .cc file)
This is totally unexpected and triggers bad class layout and accessing in the
latter .cc file for the places where `Label` is referenced.

This change fixes cctest from Windows ARM64 jumbo build, but it applies to
other architectures too.

ffa9f163e6 Reland "Update GetIterator bytecode to load and call object[Symbol.iterator]"
This is a reland of 8b89a7c32d

Reland after disabling the test getting deadlocked with '--gc_stress' flag.
The CL was reverted because of the 'wasm/grow-shared-memory' test from
the mjsunit test suite deadlocked for the 'gc_stress' variant. This is
the known issue (v8:9221) and the deadlocking test is now disabled (
1c8981e3f4).

Original change's description:
> Update GetIterator bytecode to load and call object[Symbol.iterator]
>
> The functionality of the GetIterator bytecode introduced previously is
> now extended from loading the @@iterator property to calling the property
> as well. This change basically absorbs the functionality of additional
> two bytecodes - Star, CallProperty0 in the GetIterator bytecode.
> Importantly, this change handles the cases of eager and lazy deoptimization
> in the middle of the bytecode, i.e., lazy deopt for LdaNamedProperty and
> eager deopt of the CallProperty0 bytecode, using the continuation builtins.
> This mechanism can work as a template for the future bytecode that require
> handling such inter-bytecode deopt scenario. The tests evaluating the eager
> and lazy deopt scenarios are also included.

a3c7e96891 [class] Fix private name scope chain
Expressions in class heritage position do not have access to the
inheriting class's private names, only its lexical bindings. The parser
currently uses the same scope chain for both.

This CL makes scopes in class heritage position skip their outer class
when resolving private names. Whether a scope needs to skip is kept as a
bit on various scope-related data structures.

8c79beadbf Reland "[regexp] Implement the match indices proposal"
Implements match indices for regexp, as specified by
https://github.com/tc39/proposal-regexp-match-indices,
a stage 3 TC39 proposal. This implementation is hidden
behind the '--harmony-regexp-match-indices' flag.

Regexp match indices extends the JSRegExpResult object
with an array of indices of matches, as well as a
dictionary of capture names to match indices.

There was no problem with the original CL. I just had a problem with
my local git branches.

Original message:

The implementation on wasm-bigint has been done, as far as I can tell.
There are no spec tests yet, only an out-dated copy of the original
spec tests which don't pass anymore. Therefore I disabled all the tests
for now and created a tracking bug at https://crbug.com/v8/9673.

3b0f89d0a1 [debugger] Fix code coverage for async functions
Async functions were not correctly fixed up for code coverage, which
caused an additional uncovered range to be reported between a return
statement and the closing bracket.

This CL adds code that detects such ranges, and removes them, similarly
to how the ranges are removed for normal functions. The removal process
is different, because the parser rewrites async functions to contain a
try-catch handling promise rejection.

8b89a7c32d Update GetIterator bytecode to load and call object[Symbol.iterator]
The functionality of the GetIterator bytecode introduced previously is
now extended from loading the @@iterator property to calling the property

two bytecodes - Star, CallProperty0 in the GetIterator bytecode.
Importantly, this change handles the cases of eager and lazy deoptimization
in the middle of the bytecode, i.e., lazy deopt for LdaNamedProperty and
eager deopt of the CallProperty0 bytecode, using the continuation builtins.
This mechanism can work as a template for the future bytecode that require

ffffed9020 [arm64] Fix backwards branch ranges.
The `Instruction::IsValidImmPCOffset()` method was taking an `offset` argument
in numbers of *instructions* while we were passing it numbers of *bytes*. See
`Instruction::IsTargetInImmPCOffsetRange()` and
`MacroAssembler::NeedExtraInstructionsOrRegisterBranch()`.

As a result, we were 4 times too conservative when computing branch ranges going
backwards, forcing us to generate the following sequence for TBZ more often than
needed:

```
  TBNZ <skip>
  B <target>
skip:
```

This happened rarely for loops, but a lot when doing an early return from
out-of-line calls to write barriers. Since out-of-line code is easily out of
range of 8K, although the real range of TBZ is 32K.

This fixes it by changing this method to take a byte offset instead of
instructions, as this is more intuitive and in line with similar methods. For
instance, `Instruction::ImmPcOffset()` returns an offset in bytes.

The tests are adapted so that they would have caught such a bug:

* TEST(far_branch_backward):

This test used to only check the code worked if the branch was very far away,
but it didn't test the range was correct. So this test was changed to check
each branch type separately, and test in-range and out-of-range cases
  separately too.

* TEST(far_branch_veneer_broken_link_chain):

Because of the backwards range bug, this test wasn't actually testing what it
should. The idea of the test is to make sure the MacroAssembler can still cope
when the chain of links is broken after a veneer was emitted. But no veneers
  were ever emitted.

2ccca6c5ac [tools][torque] Include string values in GetObjectProperties responses
This change provides a quick way to see string contents in postmortem
debugging sessions, without digging through a (possibly very large, in
the case of ConsString) tree of properties. As well as being convenient
for inspecting String objects, this functionality will also be necessary
for displaying property names on JSReceiver objects. In order to support
custom behaviors for specific classes, this change extends the existing
generated debug reader classes with a visitor pattern.

cbf015025a [torque] Add HeapSlice location references to Torque
This CL adds a LocationReference specifically for slices to Torque. This allows us to safely reference arrays in objects and pass around such references. For an array of T-typed elements, referencing yields a Slice<T>. In addition, the traditional element access syntax ('o.array[i]') now internally produces a slice, indexes it at 'i' and dereferences the resulting HeapReference.

3293955071 [heap, tracing] Use WorkerThreadRuntimeCallStatsScope in background GC
Before this CL the main thread fetched the background GC stats and
added them to the main runtime-call-stats table. This resulted
in background GC stats showing up in the main thread trace.

This CL switches the background GC stats to use worker thread runtime-
calls-stats table. This is now consistent with other background
components of V8 suchs background compiler and parser.

213504b9d7 [regexp] Consolidate calls to jitted irregexp and regexp interpreter
The code fields in a JSRegExp object now either contain irregexp
compiled code or a trampoline to the interpreter. This way the code
can be executed without explicitly checking if the regexp shall be
interpreted or executed natively.
In case of interpreted regexp the generated bytecode is now stored in
its own fields instead of the code fields for Latin1 and UC16
respectively.
The signatures of the jitted irregexp match and the regexp interpreter
have been equalized.

f6057ff1e3 [scopes] Push sloppy eval check through eval scopes
Sloppy eval extends the outer declaration scope's context. This is also
true for sloppy eval inside of other sloppy evals -- the outer declaration
scope's context is extended rather than the outer sloppy eval's
declaration scope. However, we consider eval scopes to also be declaration
scopes, for the purposes of strict eval and caching lookup variables. So,
we need to make sure that we skip through sloppy eval scopes when marking
a scope as calls_sloppy_eval.

In fact, we implement this rather as never marking sloppy eval scopes as
calls_sloppy_eval, under the assumption that the parent scope will already
have been marked calls_sloppy_eval by the outer eval.

As a drive-by, fix a TODO to move this logic from calls_sloppy_eval() to
RecordEvalCall(), rename the variable to something more meaningful, and
make Snapshotting to use a new calls_eval bit on Scope.

1fba044154 [destructuring] Elide coercible check for simple keys
Simple object destructuring, such as `let {a,b} = o`, is less efficient
than the equivalent assignments `let a = o.a; let b = o.b`. This is
because it does a nil check of `o` before the assignments. However, this
nil check is not strictly necessary for simple (i.e. non-computed) names,
as there will be an equivalent nil check on the first access to o in
`o.a`. For computed names the computation is unfortunately obervable.

So, we can elide the nil check when the first property (if any) of the
destructuring target is a non-computed name. This messes a bit with our
error messages, so we re-use the CallPrinter to also find destructuring
assignment based errors, and fiddle with the error message there. As
a side-effect, we also get out the object name in the AST, so we can
output a slightly nicer error message.

1f4bec2775 Add new nonextensible element kinds
Currently the backing store and elements kind might not aligned aka
backing store can be dictionary where elements kind is frozen/sealed
element kinds or the other way around. The reason is that
Object.preventExtensions change elements kind to DICTIONARY while
Object.seal/freeze change elements kind to SEALED/FROZEN element kind.
Apply both these operations can lead to that problem as in
chromium:992914

To solve this issue, we avoid Object.preventExtensions to change backing
store to dictionary by introducing new nonextensible elements kind.
These new nonextensible elements kind are handled similar to frozen,
sealed element kinds. This change not only fixes the problem but also
optimize the performance of nonextensible objects.

1e5fe736d8 [debugger] disable break on stack overflow
This partially reverts commit 763f63fff6.

Reason for the revert is that the breaking at stack overflow does not

to the stack limit.

We keep the test, slightly modified, and use a better way to
detect stack overflow.

1990b1e14e [regexp] Dont attempt to match '^' before the start of the string
This fixes an invalid assumption when emitting code for matching '^'
(start of line) in multiline regexps and '\b', '\B' in general.

What we used to do: if the current trace's cp_offset (the offset from
the current position) was non-zero, we assumed that we were looking at
subject string index 1 or greater (i.e.: not at the start of the string
or before).

This is no longer valid since cp_offsets can now be negative.

This CL changes the logic to omit start- and bounds-checks only for
strictly positive cp_offsets, where the above assumption still holds.

4f34d353d2 [wasm] Add proposal js-api spec tests to the testrunner
At the moment we only run the js-api spec tests of the core API on our
try bots. With the new staging process we want to introduce for
WebAssembly language features, see
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hB8mpWmzmtaxZ8PuJEkAWLwFqXTjrw7mJ3Ge9W1dB4E,
we also want to run the js-api spec tests of proposals for which we
already staged the implementation. With this CL I do the following
changes:

1) The tools/wasm/update-wasm-spec-tests.sh now copies the js-api spec
tests of the main spec and of the proposals to test/wasm-js/tests,
and then uploads this directory to google cloud storage. The main
spec tests are in test/wasm-js/tests, the proposal tests are in
   test/wasm-js/tests/proposals/PROPOSAL_NAME/.
2) Adjust the test-runner in test/wasm-js to run tests in
tests/* instead of data/test/js-api/*. Thereby it also runs the
   proposal tests in test/wasm-js/tests/proposals/PROPOSAL_NAME/.
For the proposal tests, the test runner now also adds d8 flags.
3) Remove the dependency to https://github.com/WebAssembly/spec from
   DEPS.
4) Cleanup .gitignore and wasm-js.status
5) Disable spec tests we don't pass with the new proposal.

3aa4f05d0c [wasm-c-api] Roll bf31edf: Fix life times of host info
Host info used to be stored on the global reference underlying a Ref;
now it is stored in a JSWeakMap and hence tied to the lifetime of the
actual object on V8's heap.
Additionally, the internal metadata needed for C-API functions is now
stored on the SharedFunctionInfo and no longer overlaps with the host
info mechanism.

b23dc42c5a [cleanup] Add & use more CSA LoadRoot helpers
Forbid using LoadRoot in CSA (with a bailout via CodeAssembler), so that
users are forced to use helper macros for roots, which have statically
known types. Convert all current uses of LoadRoot to use these macros,
introducing new ones where necessary.

789fb683bc [heap] Introduce old-to-new invalidation set
Introduce list of invalidated objects for old-to-new slots. Objects
are registered as invalidated in NotifyObjectLayoutChange, however
no slots are filtered right now. Slots are still deleted, so all
recorded slots are valid.

Always treat old-to-new slots in free space as valid. With
old-to-new slots, invalid ones are still cleared.

As described in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hB8mpWmzmtaxZ8PuJEkAWLwFqXTjrw7mJ3Ge9W1dB4E,
we want to enable --wasm-staging for libfuzzer fuzzers to increase test
coverage of new feature implementations. As discussed in https://docs.google.com/a/chromium.org/document/d/1hB8mpWmzmtaxZ8PuJEkAWLwFqXTjrw7mJ3Ge9W1dB4E/edit?disco=AAAADPrjhdA,
this has to be done in our implementations manually.

9b986bf97c [objects] Use function syntax kind enum instead of bits on SFI and ParseInfo
- Rename FunctionLiteral::FunctionType to FunctionSyntaxKind.

- Re-express IsWrappedBit, IsDeclarationBit, IsAnonymousExpressionBit,
and IsNamedExpressionBit in SFI::flags as FunctionSyntaxKind. This
frees up 1 bit in SFI::flags.

- Re-express the analogous bits in ParseInfo as FunctionSyntaxKind.

- Simplifies some logic in the back-and-forth passing of this info
  between SFI and ParseInfo.

- Drive-by fix parsing class member initializations as kAccessorOrMethod.
