There are now less that 400 days until the end of life
of Python 2(aka _legacy_ Python) https://pythonclock.org/ .
The code compatibility check for python2 and python3
used the following tools: futurize, flake8

Redirect forwards stdout to a file for the duration of a gdb command.
This is useful when inspecting very large objects that generate several pages
of output in a gdb session.
If the GDB_EXTERNAL_EDITOR environment variable is set, popup will
automatically open the generated temporary file in the provided editor.
A simple default that works is GDB_EXTERNAL_EDITOR="gnome-open". Note that
this should be a GUI editor since you would otherwise interrupt the
active gdb session.

Since python3 does not use the old print statement, it may not be able
to load gdb-v8-support.py script in gdb as below:
(gdb) source tools/gdb-v8-support.py
File "tools/gdb-v8-support.py", line 170
print result
^
SyntaxError: Missing parentheses in call to 'print'
This fixes print statement for both python2 and python3.

The gdb-v8-support.py script uses the "re" module to match regular expression,
but it does not import it, resulting in an error when loading the script from
GDB. This patch adds the missing import.

Generate Mach-O in-memory objects for OSX. Dump locals and parameters
for non-optimized frames.
Unfortunately, it seems like more-recent-GDB on OSX there is a little
temperamental (eg, the version from macports will be missing symbols
from gdb-integration_g when the version included in xcode will not--
and this is with --gdbjit off).
Includes some Python scripts to make dealing with V8 values in gdb more
pleasant.
