76ff3d06f5 No changes, just simplifications to configure code. 
Implicitly use SEARCH_LIB in WX_PATH_FIND_LIBRARIES() and WX_FIND_LIB() macros
to avoid having to pass it to them explicitly every time.

Closes #13601.

d0260bd894 Add WX_FIND_LIB() function to simplify testing for libraries in configure. 
No real changes in behaviour but the new WX_FIND_LIB() function can now be
used to test for any library.

Closes #13375.

4c51a665c6 Fixed various typos. 
Applied patch by snowleopard2 fixing a bunch of typos such as misspellings and double words in the documentation. Combined the patch with some local queued typos waiting to be committed as well as adding new typo fixes inspired by the patch.

Function names with American spelling were not changed nor was third-party code touched. The only code changes involve some changes in strings that are translated ("Can not" -> "Cannot").

Closes #13063 (again).

ee4f5418ff Don't use excessive quoting with AC_DEFINE_UNQUOTED in WX_CHECK_FUNCS. 
This provokes warnings from autoconf 2.65 and seems to be unnecessary even
with the previous versions.

1f7e12cc26 Restore AC_CHECK_HEADERS in preference to AC_CHECK_HEADER so that the HAVE_* 
defines will be generated when needed.  This fixes breakage caused by 44703.
Only usage where HAVE_* macro is in setup.h.in or was used by configure
itself (e.g. HAVE_X11_XLIB_H) is changed.

6e198e97ec Rewrote configure --enable/with options handling: 
1. There is no more need to set DEFAULT_wxUSE_XXX for all options (although
   it's still taken into account if it is set), use WX_ARG_DISABLE/WITHOUT for
   the options which are enabled by default instead (and WX_ARG_ENABLE/WITH
   for those which are disabled): this makes configure messages more
   understandable (this closes bug 1038676)
2. Added --disable-all-features option which allows to disable everything
   which can be disabled at once in order to build the absolutely minimal
   wx library
3. General cleanup

5acfd58da0 Add WX_CHECK_DECLS macro and try it out on strtok_r. Otherwise the test for 
strtok_r succeeds on Minix though the function is not available.

e7272c0856 finally really fixes IRIX build: 
- determine the name of the standard libraries directory (lib, lib32, lib64
   or lib/64) and use it to find other standard libraries
 - look in default libraries locations after checking the other ones, not
   before
