49ef377349 Fix determination of OpenGL include paths on macOS, take 2
The sysrootification of OpenGL include paths must be done only once: at
configure time. The resolved paths are stored since 521a8539 and must not be
resolved again.

Turn the makeSpec-type opengl library into a custom-type one, and do
the sysrootification in the handler function.

0c03316ec9 Revert "Fix determination of OpenGL include paths on macOS"
This reverts commit 37970d7b3e.

That commit broke the build on macOS, because the OpenGL headers aren't
resolved anymore at configure time.

69bd238ad8 Fix resolving of libraries on Apple platforms
Qt couldn't be configured with -system-zlib on macOS, because qmake
failed to find "/usr/lib/libz.dylib".
The library path is something along the lines of
"/Applications/Xcode.app/.../MacOSX10.14.sdk/usr/lib" which doesn't
contain "libz.dylib". But it contains "libz.tbd", which is a YAML-file
pointing to "/usr/lib/libz.dylib". One can pass the absolute path to
this tbd file to the linker, which will then pick up
"/usr/lib/libz.dylib".

Introduce a new variable QMAKE_EXTENSIONS_AUX_SHLIB, which is a list
of auxiliary extensions for shared libs, and add the "tbd" extension
to it on macOS.

22e9ff9c16 mkspecs: Allow specifying a CROSS_COMPILE for mac/clang targets
This allows distinguishing between these tools and tools for the host,
when cross compiling.

While mac tools normally only are available on macOS, there are third
party efforts to port them to other platforms. In these cases, it
might be useful to use a prefix (either some sort of triplet prefix,
or an absolute path) to distinguish between the host build platform
compilers/tools and the ones for the cross target.

The use of this variable matches the one used in a lot of other
mkspecs, and shouldn't cause any issues for those who aren't setting
it.

2c9d15d73c fix QMAKE_DEFAULT_*DIRS resolution with apple SDK
the code got factored out to an own toolchain.prf file, which is
load()ed from default_pre.prf, so no change at first.
however, on mac, we shadow toolchain.prf, and make it load() sdk.prf
first.

a side effect of this is that project files may not override
QMAKE_MAC_SDK any more, which seems to be no big loss. it is still
possible to override the sdk on the configure command line (but note
that this only ever worked for the target sdk).

it has also become harder to disable the use of an sdk altogether:
putting CONFIG-=sdk into a project file or the qmake command line has no
effect now. instead, it's possible to put it into .qmake.{conf,cache}.
to make it simpler again, it's conceivable to finally add qmake -pre,
which would allow setting variables before default_pre.prf is executed.

1308aa25fb Cache Xcode and SDK settings in .qmake.cache if it exists
The Xcode and SDK settings are expensive to resolve, as we're using
system() calls to resolve them. We now try to detect the presence of
a .qmake.cache file (and inform the user that creating one would be
a good idea), and use the file to cache the various settings after
resolving them.

The Xcode logic had to be moved form xcode.conf as part of the mkspec,
into default_pre/post.prf, so that we could cache() the resolved values.

f73a7ca46c Verify Xcode installation more thoroughly before relying on it
We depend on Xcode for building Qt itself and user application on Mac OS.
The user may have an Xcode install that is not set up properly, in which
case we would fail compilation in mysterious ways. Instead we try to
detect misconfigured or missing Xcode installs as early as possible.

We try to detect if an Xcode install has not been chosen yet, and
if the user has not accepted the Xcode license agreement. We need to
do these checks both in configure, as early as possible, and in mkspecs
on Mac OS, as we need to error out if the user tries to build an app
with the Qt SDK, but with a broken Xcode install.

ios.conf and macx.conf now share most of their settings in the common

that any overrides in the device config will apply afterwards. This
means configure's mkspec parsing will be able to read the QMAKE_MAC_SDK.

c3a5681225 Always build against an SDK on Mac OS
Building against the local /System can cause build issues when for example
the headers have not been updated to reflect the system version. The system
headers are updated as part of installing the command line tools from within
Xcode, not as part of the system update process, so we might think we are
on 10.8, but the system headers will not reflect that, and we get build
breaks. It's preferable to always build against an SDK, so that we have
a known state for the OS X libraries and headers.

We choose the latests SDK by default, as recommended by Apple.

71b4325cb7 Clean up how we build against SDKs on Mac OS
Instead of setting -isysroot in both arch.test, compile.test, the various
mkspecs, and sdk.prf, we now propgate the chosen SDK as the qmake
variable QMAKE_MAC_SDK, which is then handled exclusivly in sdk.prf.

The QMAKE_MAC_SDK variable, and -sdk argument to configure, is expected
to be of the short-form name, eg macosx or iphoneos, not a full path, as
that's what Xcode also expects. We take care of translating that into
a full path for -isysroot/-syslibroot in sdk.prf, using xcodebuild as
a helper.

490379a3e3 Mac: Fix compilation with -sdk option
The include paths that the mkspecs set into the OpenGL/AGL frameworks
must take the SDK into account.
(The headers in 10.8 have slightly changed wrt 10.7, leading to compile
errors because framework style includes (<OpenGL/foo.h>) within the system
headers are resolved to the SDK framework headers.)

not strictly necessary, but nicer.

QMAKE_PLATFORM (and thus CONFIG) now also contains the name of the OS, and
its family (if applicable, e.g., bsd). this also adds more feature search
paths.
