The convenience functions setBackground(), setForeground() and

default constructed QBrush or QSize is returned in the data() function
which leads to an unexpected background or forground color or size hint.
Therefore check if the passed value is a default constructed value and

[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][ItemViews] The convenience views

For QActionGroup, the functions addAction(text/icon), which
create an action, cannot be implemented in QtGui, hence a base
class is needed, too (unless they are deprecated and removed).

Some windowing systems (i.e. Wayland) do not allow applications to steal window
focus.
Normally, we would just replace qWaitForWindowActive with
qWaitForWindowExposed, because that is usually the intent, in this test
however, there are many occurrences of both variants right after each other.
And, as described in the commit message of 153e8b49a, this may be because
window activation may cause repaints, and we want to wait for it to reduce
the chance of receiving an extra repaint later (possibly causing tests to be
racy).
Therefore, I took the conservative approach, and kept the qWaitForWindowActive
calls, except when the capability is not available. Hopefully this will not
cause flakiness in existing platforms, while also allowing tests to pass on
platforms where activation is not supported.

The childEvent handler sets the enabled property of children as they are
added to the groupbox, but applications might later enable children and
check/uncheck the groupbox's checkbox in undefined order. In that case,
we would end up with enabled children inside a conceptually disabled
groupbox (the groupbox's checkbox represents the logical "disabled"
state), which breaks documented QWidget::enabled rules.
To make sure that all children are disabled as per the state of the
groupbox, we need to run that logic once the UI has been set up, and
before it becomes visible. This is what polishing is for, so listen
for that event in addition and handle it the same way as adding (which
duplicates things, but keeps existing code that might depend on things
being updated as they are added working).
Adds the case to the existing enabledChildPropagation test case.
[ChangeLog][QWidget][QGroupBox] Always disable children of a checkable,

QApplicationPrivate::focus_widget became a dangling pointer
in the following scenario:
A widget first gets focus and later on gets a focus proxy.
QApplicationPrivate::focus_widget was still pointing to the initial widget.
Upon destruction, QWidget::hasFocus() [which follows to the focus proxy
and then compares with focus_widget] was therefore false for both
widgets. So QWidget::clearFocus() didn't call
QApplicationPrivate::setFocusWidget(0) for either of them. As a
result, focus_widget remained set, and became dangling.
In real life, this happened with a QWebEngineView, which the application
gave focus to upon creation. At that time it doesn't have a focus proxy
yet. That happens later, in QWebEngineViewPrivate::widgetChanged.

Counting absolute paint events is fragile, as there are no guarantees
that a single call to QApp::processEvents only delivers a single paint
event to a widget. As of QTBUG-76566, we see that the items occasionally
receive three calls to paint, which can be simulated by activating other

events.
Similar to QGraphicsScene, which ignores disabled items when handling
mouse presses, the view should also ignore them when handling mouse
moves to update the cursor.
Since QGraphicsView only adjusts the cursors on mouse moves, reenabling
an item that is currently under the mouse will not change the cursor.
This is consistent with other changes of item attributes that would
position the item under the mouse (such as moving it). The overhead of
hit-testing items for every such attribute change would be too large,
and applications can generate a mouse move event if they really need
to adjust the cursor in all situations.

such as images that are needed to render the page. Whenever the

already been set so that a complete URL can be constructed.
QTextDocument::resource() is called to load images, and uses baseUrl().
A little later, QTextBrowserPrivate::resolveUrl() is given an URL that
already has been extended with the baseURL if known; but it has its own
logic to resolve the resource URL against currentURL, or else to treat
it as a local file path if a file exists at that location. The autotest

now it tests both with a local filename in the current directory for the

As winrt does not have native windows, exposure check was just done by
checking, whether the window is the active window. If a window is shown
fullscreen though, winrtscreen will be resized. This resize triggers a
resize of every maximized or fullscreen window that is shown.
If we enter or leave full screen mode, we have to wait until the screen
resize and the subsequent window resizes are done and only then we can
consider the windows properly exposed.

Some QSpinBox tests start failing after reverting to using legacy mouse
messages to handle mouse input in the Windows QPA. It seems to be caused
by a test that runs before it and moves the mouse cursor. Then when the
QSpinBox tests run, they create widgets that appear below the mouse
cursor, causing some mouse events to be generating and messing with the
events synthesized by the test itself. With the pointer messages being
used for mouse input, the legacy mouse messages that are generated under
this condition were being ignored. But by reverting to the old
implementation, the legacy messages are handled again, causing the test
to fail. This change moves the mouse pointer to a safe position during
the test initialization, so it does not depend on the state left by
previous tests. This change needs to be integrated together or before
the change in the windows QPA.

When using the overload of QCoreApplication::processEvents that takes a
maxtime argument, the function will keep processing events until there
are no more events, or until it times out.
The problem is that the function doesn't distinguish between events that
were on the event queue when the function was called, and events generated
by processing events as part of its own execution. If for example a widget
calls update() in its paintEvent, the function will spin for the entire
duration of maxtime.
That doesn't work for qWaitFor, where we need to check the predicate
between each pass, so we use the overload of processEvents that doesn't
take a maxtime. That's fine, as we have our own timeout logic.

the situation when size hint were calculated differently depending on
the line edit visibility state. In this case toolbar layout have to
show/hide extension button and line edit a lot of times and can never
leave this "loop" (please note, that the chain is much more complicated
in reality):
Resize toolbar -> Set layout geometry -> Size is OK to display line edit
-> Set layout geometry -> Hide extension button -> Set layout geometry
(wrong size is calculated here, so "run out of space") -> Hide line edit
-> Set layout geometry -> Show extension button -> Set layout geometry -
> Size is OK to display line edit ... And we're in the "loop"
Clear button is hidden if there is no text in a line edit.
In the previous implementation, the button was always visible, only
opacity was changing in order to "hide" the button. It resulted to
incorrect size hints (regular and minimum).
In the current implementation the button is really hidden/shown, and
size hints calculated correctly.

- Flakyness due to not waiting for the file dialog list

- It assumed that the hardcoded directory name

not be true on Windows, where names like .designer show above.
- On failure, the test directory would leak.
This manifested in failures like:
FAIL! : tst_QFiledialog::clearLineEdit() '(fd.directory().absolutePath() != QDir::home().absolutePath())' returned FALSE. ()
To fix this, use QTemporaryDir and introduce predicates that

Misuse of QCursor API causes tests to be flaky.
Removed Qt::X11BypassWindowManagerHint as it is not really needed. Based on
the comment where this flag is used, it would be needed for all test functions

issues with this on Unity, but those have been fixed.

Removed unnecessary mouseMove() and stray mouseRelease() in mouseDoubleClickEvent().
Removed unnecessary show()/setVisible() on items that are being added to the scene -
items are visible by default.
Among other randomly spotted issues, one worth mentioning is that when adding
items to the scene after the view is already shown, we need to ensure that the scene
is updated (e.g QSignalSpy + QGraphicsScene::changed) before interacting with it. As
an example, mousePressReleaseEvent() only passed because of random luck that the
invalid coordinates were still within the bounding rect of the button. This patch
does not attempt to cleanup all instances of this anti-pattern.

The original code was added by b316c3ac5e
(in 2012). This patch changes two things:
1) We now rely on WM to position a window based on the set gravity. It
should not be necessary to calculate coordinates manually as was done
in windowToWmGeometry(). We don't even know the decoration size before
the window is mapped.
2) We now update gravity whenever needed instead of hardcoding based
on what Qt APIs (setGeometry vs setFramePosition) where used to set
the initial window position.
The patch from b316c3a says:
"Determine gravity from initial position. Do not change later as
it will cause the window to move uncontrollably"
Since it did not elaborate on the situation, we can only assume
that it was caused by another bug in Qt at the time or perhaps
a broken WM. From [1]:
"Applications are free to change their win_gravity setting at any
time. If an Application changes its win_gravity then the Window Manager
should adjust the reference point, so that the client window will
not move as the result."
Tested on Ubuntu/Unity, KDE/KWin, Gnome-shell/Mutter, Lubuntu/OpenBox.
Works as expected everywhere expect Unity. Unity seems to ignore
XCB_GRAVITY_STATIC and treats it as XCB_GRAVITY_NORTH_WEST, which means
that setGeometry/setFramePosition produce the same placement on this WM
(the behavior was the same also before this patch).
P.S. Also renamed xRect -> rect, which was a leftover from
ae5f2a6672
With this change we can un-blacklist QWidget save/restore geometry
auto tests.

QWidget::restoreGeometry() is calling QWidget::move() with restoredFrameGeometry,
which internally calls setGeometry() and sets positionPolicy = QWindowPrivate::WindowFrameExclusive,
which is invalid: restoredFrameGeometry is WindowFrameInclusive geometry.
QPA plugins rely on correctly set policies when interpreting x,y. QWidget::move()
was not designed for this AFAICT, so making it to accept frame geometry is
no-op. It is widely used legacy code, changing it could cause regressions.
Save/restore API was introduced in Qt 4.2, at that time we did not have APIs
like QWindow::setFramePosition(), so its unclear why geometry() was not stored
instead. The documentation also is somewhat unclear:
"[..] save the geometry when the window closes [..]"
Frame or client geometry? It does not specify. And from the code we see
that frame geometry was passed as client geometry, not making the original
intention clearer. Besides that, restoreGeometry() is full of other undocumented
assumptions where to place windows and when to fail (fortunately its easy
to write your own save/restore logic). Added a Qt 6 note in the source code.
What this patch changes:
Now we store geometry() in saveGeometry() and use that value in restoreGeometry()
by setGeometry(). This does not cause any behavior difference in window
positioning (tst_QWidget::saveRestoreGeometry still works). Geometry restored
from data saved with earlier versions of saveGeometry() might be positioned at:
x + leftMargin, y + topMargin.
This patch makes tst_QWidget::saveRestoreGeometry to always fail instead
of being flaky. Blacklisting for XCB instead of selected distros.
Also enabled excluded code paths for XCB on tst_QDockWidget::restoreDockWidget().
It does not seem to be flaky, maybe it was in 2015, but lot of things have changed
since then.

place but the logic in filterStartDrag() has no clue about the fact that
an internal move happend. Therefore the item gets deleted. Fix it by
changing the event's drop action to Qt::CopyAction to avoid the deletion
as it is done within QListWidget DnD code.
[ChangeLog][QtWidgets][QListView] Do not delete item on internal move.
