It was suppressed unconditionally (albeit in different places and with
different levels of obviousness) almost everywhere, due to inability
to set the system locale in use by the implementation. Several
test-cases used ISO-8859-1 encoding on Q_OS_MAC, where the tests were
all suppressed anyway. A block of no_NO tests was #if 0'd out; and
should, in any case, have been nb_NO. Tests of any locale but en_US
were skipped on Q_OS_WIN because we can't set the locale (but
including the tests of en_US tacitly assumed that's the system
locale). If setlocale() failed, for ICU or DARWIN, the test was
skipped; but we might as well check for this in the _data() to save
repetition.
The test was laboriously going through the sign cases; relocate the
QString::compare() test's sign() function so that we can use it here,
too, and simply QCOMPARE() signs. Introduce a TransientLocale class,
copied from tst_QLocale, to take care of setting and restoring the
locale using setlocale(). Change the locale name to a QByteArray so
that we save having to convert it to one in order to pass it to
setlocale(). Since that changed every _data() row, reformat those rows
in the process - most of them were long lines.
On the systems where we can't set the locale used by the function
being tested, condition each block of tests in the _data() on whether
LC_COLLATE looks like the locale to be tested, and report how a
determined developer at least can (by repeatedly running the test with
different locales set) test all the cases; and we'll attempt the ones
that we can, when one of the relevant locales is in use. If that
leaves us with no tests we can do, QSKIP() in the _data() to avoid an
assert failure for "Test data requested, but no testdata available."

Sandboxed applications also have an extra requirement that the

the QTime we're describing is a local time, so whether *it* thinks
we're at the last second of the day is beside the point. Fortunately,
preceding second should get -2 as return if mktime()'s initial -1
actually meant the last second of 1969, so we can test via that, after
a cheap pre-test to save doing this too often (albeit we only even
attempt the check if mktime() returned -1 in any case).
Restructured qt_mktime() in the process to deal with the error case's
early return promptly instead of doing it in an else clause. Also
repackage the calls to mktime to isolate various quirks and simplify
the logic in qt_mktime(). This also prepares for setting tm_isdst as a
hint when we know when we came from, in massageAdjustedDateTime().
Refined one test, added two more test cases. These didn't fail before
this fix, but a judiciously-placed qDebug() in testing revealed that
localMSecsToEpochMSecs() resorted to its fall-back handling - as if
the date-time were outside the time_t range - due to qt_mktime()
failing, for these test-cases (and several others). This fix evades
that fall-back behavior; a judiciously-placed qDebug() shows none of
our test-cases now fail callMkTime().

Calling create_mapping in setSourceModel as introduced by 8455bfee76
can lead to an early call to filterAcceptsRow, and some existing applications may crash.
It is also an incomplete solution since it was only done for the
toplevel index but not for child indexes.
Instead, go back to creating mappings on demand.
This means coming up with a different fix for QTBUG-87781 (dataChanged
not emitted for indexes that haven't been mapped yet, i.e. not queried
or shown anywhere).
When this happens, we can't know if the index was previously filtered
out or not (for lack of a dataAboutToBeChanged signal...). Creating
the mapping with the new data only gives us the new state of affairs,
there's no reference state to compare to. Therefore, when the mapping
is missing (during dataChanged handling), create it, but skip all the
logic about row insertion/removal, just forward the dataChanged signal
if the row isn't filtered out.
Creating the mapping might require creating first mappings for parents,
recursively, which wasn't done anywhere in QSFPM yet, hence the new
create_mapping_recursive() method.
In addition to all this, the handling of removed items was incorrect,
remove_source_items did nothing if the parent was gone, and then
source_items_removed was trying to adjust indexes in an incorrect list.
If the parent is gone, clear the proxy_to_source list, so there's
nothing to adjust afterwards. This bug actually doesn't happen anymore
in this version of the patch, but the change still seems right and might
prevent repeating a long debugging session in the future.

QDateTime has long followed a convention of ignoring what it knows
about time-zone transitions before the epoch. This produces unhelpful
artefacts (such as an ahistorical spring-forward skipping the first
hour of 1970 in Europe/London, which was in permanent DST at the time)
and complicates the code. It documented that DST transitions were
ignored, but in fact ignored all transitions prior to 1970 and simply
assumed that the current time-zone properties (half a century later)
applied to all times before 1970.
This appears to be based on the fact that the MS APIs using time_t all
limit their range to after 1970. Given that we have to resort to
"other means" to deal with times after the end of time_t, when it's
only 32-bit (and after year 3000, on MS systems), we have the means in
place to handle times outside the range supported by the system APIs,
so have no need to mimic this restriction. (Those means are not as
robust as we might want, but they are less bad than assuming that the
present zone properites were always in effect prior to 1970.) On
macOS, the time_t functions only reach back to the start of 1900; it
reaches to the end of its time_t range and Linux covers the whole
range. Given this variety, the range is now auto-detected the first
time it is needed (based on some quick and dirty heuristics).
Various CET-specific tests now need adjustments in tests of times
before the introduction of time-zones (when they are in fact on LMT,
not CET). The systemZone() test of QTimeZone can now restore its
pre-zone test cases. Various comments on tests needed updates.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QDateTime] Available time-zone information is now
used to its full extent, where previously QDateTime used LocalTime's
current standard time for all dates before 1970. Where we have
time-zone information, it is considered reliable, so we use it. This
changes the "best efforts" used for times outside the range supported
by the system APIs, in most cases giving less misleading results.

Old behavior:
qt_add_resources(app "images"

Alias is "../shared/images/button.png", and pro2cmake generated
QT_RESOURCE_ALIAS assignments to fix this.
New behavior:

The alias is "images/button.png". No extra QT_RESOURCE_ALIAS assignment

Since we changed binding evaluation to be always eager, we notify and
evaluate all bindings as soon as any dependency changes. This includes
bindings which have been initially installed on a property, but which
were later removed.
With lazy evaluation, we would only notify those bindings and mark them
as dirty, which is unproblematic. With eager evalution, we attempt to
evaluate the binding, though. While that part is still fine, afterwards
we would attempt to write the new value into the property. However,
there is no property at that point, as the binding is not installed.
Instead of adding a check whether the propertydataptr is null, we skip
the reevaluation completely by removing the bindings observers - and
thus the cause for the binding function's reevaluation. As soon as the
binding is set, we reevaluate the function anyway, at which point we
also capture the observers again.

Analysis of problems with the new test for qFuzzyIsNull() revealed
that, where its version for double uses approximately 4500 * epsilon
and for float used 84 * epsilon as threshold, the qfloat16 version's
value was barely more than epsilon, with the result that the test had
to use a different value than the threshold to pass. (Converting the
threshold from float to qfloat16 and back made it bigger; in effect,
the threshold value was not <= itself.)
Furthermore, comparison with qFuzzyCompare() implied a value of
1/102.5 should be used, roughly 10 * epsilon, for consistency. When
1/102.5 is rounded to three significant digits (the precision we use
in QTest::toString(), for example), to give 0.00976f as threshold, we
get a value that, after conversion to qfloat16 and back to float, does
give a result <= what we started with. So change qFuzzyIsNull() and
its test to use this as qfloat16's threshold value.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QFloat16] The qfloat16 threshold value for
qFuzzyIsNull() has changed from 1e-3 to 9.76e-3, almost a factor of
ten increase, for consistency with qFuzzyCompare()'s tolerance. Values
between these would previously have had qFuzzyIsNull(f) false despite
qFuzzyCompre(f, 1+f) being true.

it would only be discovered when trying to use it to generate

initial parsing of its data.
In the process, since checking for DST in the process is trivial,
implement a long-standing TODO to cache hasDaylightTime()'s
answer. The array it scanned was in any case being scanned during
construction, so detecting DST in init()'s scan is trivial; and its
failure to check the POSIX rule mean it failed to notice when zones
entirely specified by a POSIX rule have DST.
Adapt a test using a POSIX-only rule to verify it does know the zone
has DST; it did not, before this change.

In the process, fix (and make more straightforward) the convoluted

that makes that value most unlikely, even when the result is invalid.
It also rather confusingly mixed < 0 tests as tests for overflow with

Qt defines some integral datatypes (qsizetype, qintptr, quintptr,
qptrdiff) not in terms of the corresponding language datatypes (resp.
make_signed_t<size_t>, intptr_t, uintptr_t, ptrdiff_t) but as "integer
types with the same bit size of the corresponding language type" (and of
course the corret correct signedness for the target type).
This makes the Qt datatypes not printable via printf-like formatted
output, incl. qDebug, qWarning, QString::asprintf and so on; that's
because there isn't a format modifier that would universally work
with the Qt definitions.
For instance, on a 32 bit platform, ptrdiff_t may be a typedef for long,
while qptrdiff is a typedef for _int_ instead. Both long and int would
indeed be 32 bits, but they still are different types, and this means
that the ptrdiff_t-specific 't' length modifier would be wrong for
qptrdiff:
qptrdiff p;
printf("%td", p); // WARNING: -Wformat: wanted long, got int
Similarly, not using 't' breaks on 64 bits, and so on and so forth.
There isn't a way out, short of inserting casts on every print
statement.
So, let's adopt the same solution C/C++ use for their own integer
typedefs: the PRIx macros. This allows one to always use the correct
formatting specifier without the need of a cast.
I'm not adding the macros for the qintXX datatypes, as they already
exist in the Standard Library.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QtGlobal] A series of PRIxQTDATATYPE macros have
been added. They make it possible to print some Qt type aliases
(qsizetype, qintptr, etc.) via a formatted output facility such as
printf() or qDebug() without raising formatting warnings and without
the need of a type cast.

UAX #29 in Unicode 11 changed the EGC algorithm to its current form.
Although Qt has upgraded the Unicode tables all the way up to
Unicode 13, the algorithm has never been adapted; in other words,
it has been working by chance for years. Luckily, MOST
of the cases were dealt with correctly, but emoji handling
actually manages to break it.
This commit:
* Adds parsing of emoji-data.txt into the unicode table generator.
That is necessary to extract the Extended_Pictographic property,
which is used by the EGC algorithm.
* Regenerates the tables.
* Removes some obsoleted grapheme cluster break properties, and
adds the ones added in the meanwhile.
* Rewrites the EGC algorithm according to Unicode 13. This is
done by simplifying a lot the lookup table. Some rules (GB11,
GB12, GB13) can't be done by the table alone so some hand-rolled
code is necessary in that case.
* Thanks to these fixes, the complete upstream GraphemeBreakTest
now passes. Remove the "edited" version that ignored some rows
(because they were failing).

Too much of the existing code in Qt requires eager evaluation without
large scale modifications. Combined with the fact that supporting both
eager and lazy evaluation has a high maintenance burden, keeping lazy
evaluation, at least in its current state, is not worth it.
This does not diminish other benefits of the new property system, which
include
- a C++ API to setup and modify bindings and
- faster execution compared to QML's existing bindings and the ability
to use them without having a QML engine.
We do no longer benefit from doing less work thanks to laziness. A later
commit will introduce grouping support to recapture some of this
benefit.

This function returns the metatype corresponding to the metaobject, or
an invalid metatype for namespaces.
This works as follows: First we increment the metaobject revision for
new metaobjects. Metaobjects with older revisions are handled by doing a
lookup by name. That fallback is also used for dynamic metaobjects (from
QtDBUS and those created by QMetaObjectBuilder).
For new metaobjects, we store the metatype in its metatype array, behind
the property metatypes. This avoids any changes to the property and
method metatype extraction logic: For properties, the metatype access
does not change, as the new metatype is after their metatypes. For
method metatypes, we already have an indirection layer (using offsets),
so by adjusting those offsets by one, the same logic keeps working.
To distinguish between namespaces and dynamic metaobjects, namespaces
store the metatypeinterface pointer for void in the metatype array,
whereas dynamic metaobjects store a nullptr.
One nice additional benefit is that this simplifies the generator logic
in moc, as the metatype array is now never empty.

transition in 1878, so does see its pre-zone offset between then and
the switch to UTC+2 in 1921, leading to failures in exactly the zone
Coin tests. So suppress these three test-cases pending later fixes.

There may be a race where e.g. thread 'B' is woken up by a queued invoke.
At the same time thread 'A' asks 'B' to quit, which will set various
atomics (some important ones are 'interrupt' in the dispatcher and
'exit' in the event loop), but it does _not_ try to send another wake
since there is already an unhandled wake triggered by 'B' itself.
Sadly 'B' reads the 'exit' atomic before 'A' updates it.
Then, slightly before, 'B' sets 'interrupt' back to 0, 'A' write 1 to
it, meaning 'A's interrupt is ignored. Then, since there is no
interrupt, 'B' goes back to waiting for events, leaving the thread alive
and running instead of quitting.
Maybe this has unforeseen consequences (one consequence is that it will
return and re-enter the event dispatcher once more, possible
unnecessarily)

day-of-month number, with a dot after it, before the month's short

It no longer matches the format we now use (since 5.2, in 2013, commit

with Unix and QDate); now seems like a good time to stop complicating
our parser for its sake.

There are GMT-offset zones whose convention for the sign of the offset
is the reverse of what we are (still) using, which is the usual
convention for UTC-offset zone: for example, the Olson Database's
Etc/GMT+3 has offset -3 hours in the UTC-based system we use, so we
give it suffix GMT-0300. The UTC-based suffix is also what we use as
the abbreviation for OffsetFromUTC() in toString().
For now this only adds support for parsing a planned future form: the
old form using GMT is retained, to give client code some chance to
prepare for a backwards-compatible transition. Although the GMT prefix
is matched case-insensitively, only match UTC if fully upper-case;
there is no meaningful precedent for case-insensitive usage here.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QDateTime] The Qt::TextDate format now recognizes
UTC-based offset suffixes in addition to suffixes based on the
deprecated alias GMT. This prepares for toString() to use such
UTC-based suffixes for time-zones (fromString() cannot parse the
present abbreviation suffix). A future release of Qt shall use
UTC-based suffixes in place of the present GMT-based suffixes (which
conflict with GMT-based IANA zone names) for Qt::LocalTime and
Qt::OffsetFromUTC time-specs. Client code is encouraged to use and
recognize UTC-based zone suffixes in preparation for that transition,
unless compatibility with versions before 6.2 is required.

The test verified that a LocalTime's time since Epoch changes when the
system time-zone changes. This works when the QDateTime object is in
short form and recomputes its offset from UTC every time it is needed,
but fails with a pimpled QDateTime, as this caches its offset from UTC
when it is created, saving the recomputation which - in the far more
usual case where the system time-zone does not change in the lifetime
of a QDateTime object - would normally produce the same result.
Changed the test to use a newly-created QDateTime constructed with the
same parameters, which doesn't have the cached out-of-date knowledge
of its zone offset. Removed the XFAIL. Made the test data-driven and
added test-cases: one so close to the Epoch that it should be short
even on 32-bit systems, one so far that it's pimpled even on 64-bit
systems (used in reproducing the issue in order to debug it).
This then revealed that Android 5 doesn't seem to support the POSIX
zone IDs used by this test, so it now verifies that LocalTime has the
expected offset from UTC after zone changes, QSKIP()ping if not.
Documented that the behavior of LocalTime is undefined after a change
to the system time-zone. Cleaned up the existing doc of Qt::TimeSpec

The system locale of a macOS application is not affected by environment

environment variables as the fallbackUiLocale(), rather than one based
on the language and country of the actual system locale.
This lead, via the usual CLDR likely-subtag fallback, to claiming the
system locale's name, language, script and country were those obtained
from these environment variables, even when they were at odds with the
actual locale being used by the system, which was being used for some
queries.
Worse yet, any data not supplied by these queries was being obtained
from the same CLDR locale as the name, making for an inconsistent mix
of locale data.
While we cannot avoid the likely-subtag fallback step for fallback
data, it is more consistent to use the actual system locale's name
as start-point for that fallback.
At the same time, add support for the language, script and country
queries, so that the QLocale::system() describes itself faithfully,
instead of claiming to be the locale that results from that fallback.
If we want to support LANG or other environment variable overrides,
they should be handled by the layer above the system locale, by
changing the default locale of the Qt application, as if the user
had called QLocale::setDefault().

To optimize certain operations, it can be useful to know whether we are
currently evaluating a binding. For instance, we have properties whose
storage is only alloctaed on-demand when they are set. However, we would
also allocate them if they are used in a binding context, as we would
otherwise not properly track the dependency. Using
isAnyBindingEvaluating in the getter, we can detect this
situation, and avoid the allocation if it returns false.
This API is private for now, as it exposes some internals of the
property system and should be used with care. As it needs to access the
TLS variable, it also has a non-negligible cost.

When creating a time-zone from a UTC+offset name that isn't known to
the system, QTimeZone (since the fix to QTBUG-77738 in 5.15.0) falls
back to constructing a suitable UTC-offset backend; however, the id of
this is not guaranteed to match the id passed in to the constructor.
In all other cases, the id of a QTimeZone does match the id passed to
its constructor.
Some utcOffsetId testcases had different id() than the id passed to
the constructor, due to mismatches where a zone was constructed using
the fall-back but the generated id included its minutes (as :00) or
omitted its seconds. The omission of seconds is clearly a bug, but we
also don't want to include :00 for seconds when it's not needed. So
change QTimeZonePrivate::isoOffsetFormat() to accept a
QTimeZone::NameType to configure how much we include in an id. Its
callers other than the relevant constructor (from offset) still get
minutes, even when :00, but will also get seconds added if that isn't
zero; and the constructor from offset now gets the short form obtained
by omitting all trailing zeros.
Since all valid whole-hour offset names that do include :00 for the
minutes field are in fact known standard offset names, the elision of
minutes will only affect zones created by ID in the case of a
whole-hour offset given without :00 minutes specifier, so these shall
necessarily in fact get the ID passed to the constructor. Creating by
UTC-offset with a name that specifies zero seconds will result in a
QTimeZone instance whose id() differs from what was passed to its
constructor (eliding the :00 seconds and potentially also minutes, if
also zero) but this should be the only case where a QTimeZone's id
doesn't match the one passed to the constructor, when constructed by
id.
Fixed inconsistency between the offset-constructor's declaration
(taking offset as int) and definition (taking qint32) in the process.
Added an id check to the utcOffsetId() testcase. Amended two tests of
offset-derived time-zones' IDs, added comments to make clear how one
of those differs from a matching standard name test and converted two
uses of QCOMPARE(, true) to QVERIFY().
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QTimeZone] QTimeZone instances created by offset
from UTC (in seconds) shall now only include minutes in their ID when
the offset is not a whole number of hours. They shall also include the
seconds in their ID when the offset is not a whole number of minutes.

The spec hasn't changed, but I made the same mistake in xdgmime
(the reference implementation) and in Qt: when multiple globs match,
and the result from magic sniffing is unrelated to any of those globs,
then I used the magic result, but that's wrong, globs have priority
and one of them should be picked up.
This is now fixed in xdgmime
(https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdgmime/-/merge_requests/3)
and in the expected results in shared-mime-info
(https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/shared-mime-info/-/merge_requests/99)
which this commit is also tested against.
This change also optimizes QMimeBinaryProvider::addFileNameMatches
to have the same logic as xdgmime for glob matching:
literals > extensions > other globs
As soon as one category matches, we can stop there.
This makes no difference in the overall results, in practice.
