c56e2e5aa6 Add new virts, hide old ones
Add virtuals for the draw methods that now take sampling/filtermode.

drawImage
drawImageRect
drawImageLattice
drawAtlas

Add a flag that can remove the older virtuals, once each client has
stopped overriding them. In that situation, the older public methods
will simplify extract the sampling from the paint, and call the new
public methods.

b27f39c924 Add conic fill support to the tessellator
This started out as a sandbox to experiment with a Wang's formula
analog for rational quadratics, but it quickly became apparent that
running Wang's formula on the down-projected points was an upper bound
on what the rational version would have been (for both w<1 and w>1).

This CL therefore adds conic support by upgrading the tessellation
shaders to use ratoinal cubics, converting every path verb to a
rational cubic, and then running Wang's formula on the down-projected
points. In the future we can always drop in a better formula if we
work one out.

42dbca51f4 Pass in the color load op to GrProgramInfo.
In follow on CLs we need to know what the load op is when we try to use
discardable msaa attachments. For vulkan the load op affects how we
copy the resolve attachment into the msaa attachment, which changes the
render pass we use (adds extra subpass). We need to be able to make a
compatible render pass to compile programs.

The important part is in GrOpFlushState.h were previously
we were taking a mutable pointer to the view, which should

6a7a2c7355 Improve var-width miter joins
With variable width stroke, there is a curious case where both sides
need an inner or an outer join, instead of the fixed width case where
each side will have opposite join types. This improves the miter join
logic to treat the "left" and "right" sides separately.

There is still work to be done for joins, it's still too easy to create
weirdness.

Also improved debugging messages for degenerate cases instead of
silently swallowing the errors.

c76d4096af add API for Op creation
Introduce three calls on GrOp: Make, MakeWithExtraMemory,
and MakeWithProcessorSet. Instead of returning
unique_ptr<GrOp>, they return a type of GrOp::OpOwner.
GrOp::OpOwner safely deletes the op when it goes out
of scope for either new/delete or GrOpMemoryPool
allocations.

In order to make the code easier to refactor, I
eliminated MakeArg from the helpers.

5bbbb49f1d Miter joins for toy variable width stroke
The major difference in computing the join geometry is just that we must
use normal and radius information from the approximated offsets, instead
of the input geometry. All that effectively means is that we need to
stroke the next segment prior to being able to add a join with the
previous segment.

d6bf999365 Factor perspective scale into filter matrix decomposition
I experimented with passing in a rectangle and computing a geometric
mean of the scale factors for the 4 corners and center. The downside
to that approach is that callers either know the parameter-space bounds
or the device-space bounds. In the latter case, we have to map by the
inverse CTM, which opens up a can of worms. In practice it seemed using
just the center point worked out just as well.

This also updates the sample to draw the axes in the layer space instead
of parameter space. I found this helps display the scale effects of the
parameter-to-layer matrix better.

f4bda743ff Rename SkTArray::reserve to reserve_back.
The semantics of `vector::reserve` and `SkTArray::reserve` were not the
same. SkTArray::reserve takes a delta over the current array size,
whereas vector takes a total array size. This could lead to subtle
errors with over- or under-reservation, hurting performance.

This CL renames `SkTArray::reserve` to `SkTArray::reserve_back` to give
the SkTArray behavior a distinct (hopefully easily understandable) name,
leaving its functionality as-is.

6aaecfb7f7 Update image filter debug samples to use new APIs
For clarity, this renames skif::Mapping::Make to skif::Mapping::DecomposeCTM
to really emphasize when it should be used over just a constructor.

Renames SampleBackdropBounds to SampleFilterBounds since the operations and
coordinate spaces that it visualizes are the same for regular or backdrop
filtering (we just swap the notion of src and dst devices, really).
Technically, this is not quite true yet since regular filtering modifies the
DAG with a matrix transform right now, but that's going away soon (tm).

The "new" SampleFilterBounds example is updated to use the new bounds APIs
that use the coord-space safe types in the skif namespace. It also visualizes
a filter, and simplifies some of the bounds being drawn and reported to
only those most interesting.

The SampleImageFilterDAG has been updated to match the soon-to-be state
of how SkCanvas processes regular image filters for a saveLayer. All
implicit matrix-transform node code is removed. The bounds calculation
code is similarly updated to use the new 'skif' types and functions. To
simplify the visualization of each node, the 'isolated' versions of the
bounds were dropped.

In general the tracking of GrDstSampleType is a global state of a GrOpsTask

5c612ade3b create a sample to demonstrate a timing attack
This sample attempts to re-create an image's alpha channel by drawing it
one pixel at a time and timing how long each pixel takes to draw.

The "abc" text should appear twice normally, and the third and fourth
versions are reconstructed from timing, one by timing 1:1 pixel draws,
the other by timing 1x1:1024x1024 upscale into an offscreen. It's not
meant to be an exact reconstruction, but you can easily see the shapes,
particularly at -O0, -O1, and -Os. Auto-vectorization from -O2/-O3 do
a good amount to cover up the problem.

The legacy CPU backend is the main place to look. I haven't been able
to reconstruct any images using SkRasterPipelineBlitter or SkVMBlitter,
and while on the GPU I do see non-random patterns in the timing, it
appears to be the same single pattern across devices, OSes, GPUs, GPU
APIs and content... I assume it's something like our resource caching
policy.

This can't really be a GM, given how it draws non-deterministically.

767f444feb SkRuntimeEffect SkSL has a new signature for main()
There is no more 'inout half4 color'. Effects return their output color.
If an effect wants the input color, it must use the (already existing)
approach of sampling a nullptr input shader.

The change is guarded for Chromium (so we can update their runtime color
filters in skia_renderer.cc).

For the GPU backend, FPs can now override usesExplicitReturn to indicate
that their emitCode will generate a return statement. If that's true,
then writeProcessorFunction doesn't inject the automatic return of the
output color, and emitFragProc will *always* wrap that FP in a helper
function, even as a top-level FP. GrSkSLFP opts in to this behavior, so
that the user-supplied return becomes the actual return in the FP's
emitCode.

Adapting the skvm code to this wasn't too bad: It looks fragile (what
happens if there are multiple returns?), but that's not really possible
today, without varying control flow.

a4b9169fb6 Remove 'in' variables from SkRuntimeEffect
Runtime effects previously allowed two kinds of global input variables:
'in' variables could be bool, int, or float. 'uniform' could be float,
vector, or matrix. Uniform variables worked like you'd expect, but 'in'
variables were baked into the program statically. There was a large
amount of machinery to make this work, and it meant that 'in' variables
needed to have values before we could make decisions about program
caching, and before we could catch some errors. It was also essentially
syntactic sugar over the client just inserting the value into their SkSL
as a string. Finally: No one was using the feature.

To simplify the mental model, and make the API much more predictable,
this CL removes 'in' variables entirely. We no longer need to
"specialize" runtime effect programs, which means we can catch more
errors up front (those not detected until optimization). All of the API
that referred to "inputs" (the previous term that unified 'in' and
'uniform') now just refers to "uniforms".

https://clang.llvm.org/extra/clang-tidy/checks/performance-unnecessary-copy-initialization.html

Finds local variable declarations that are initialized using the copy
constructor of a non-trivially-copyable type but it would suffice to
obtain a const reference.

The check is only applied if it is safe to replace the copy by a const
reference. This is the case when the variable is const qualified or when
it is only used as a const, i.e. only const methods or operators are
invoked on it, or it is used as const reference or value argument in
constructors or function calls.

426274b880 Add support for holding onto refs for input buffers from bindBuffer calls.
Mostly this is a lot of plumbing of sk_sp around instead of const*.

This does allow the d3d and vk backends to hold refs to the GrBuffers that
are bound on a command buffer. This means that our buffer alloc pools will
not try to reuse this buffers until the gpu is done with them. Previously
vk and d3d will sniff out if one of these buffers was being used again
while still active on the gpu and rip out the internal backend buffer and
allocate a new one which is not cheap. We see a lot of perf wins from
not doing this.

392fa03a1b Add an interactive sample that fits cubics to circular arcs
Fits a cubic to an arc on the unit circle using the following
constraints:

  1) The endpoints and tangent directions at the endpoints must match
     the arc.
  2) The cubic must be symmetric (length(p1 - p0) == length(p3 - p2)).
  3) The height of the cubic must match the height of the arc.

Using the above constraints, we arrive at the following formula for the
control length (c) (i.e., lengths of (p1 - p0) and (p3 - p2)):

  d = x0*x1 + y0*y1
  c = (sqrt(1 + d) * kM + kA) * rsqrt(1 - d)

(Where x0,y0,x1,y1 are the endpoints, kM = -4/3, and kA = 4/3 * sqrt(2).)

The sample also comes with a root finder that finds the max error value
of the curve, which ends up serving as a semi-formal proof that:

  1) Max error always occurs at T=0.21132486540519, regardless of
     endpoints.
  2) Error is reduced by exactly 64x each time we halve the arc angle

b96995d05f Handle tessellated paths that require more segments than are supported
Adds a method to determine the worst-case number of tessellated line
segments that a path might require, and disables hardware tessellation
if it is more segments than are supported (falling back on indirect
draw shaders).

If the path requires even more segments than are supported by the
indirect draw shaders (1024), we crop the path to the viewport. The
required number of segments is proportional to the square root of the
bounding box's diagonal, so we won't start cropping paths until their
device-space bounding box diagonal is nearly 175,000 pixels long.

226b689471 GrClips provided as pointers to GrRTC
A null clip represents no high-level clipping is necessary (the implicit
clip to the render target's logical dimensions is fine).

This also removes GrNoClip and GrFixedClip::Disabled() since they are
replaced with just nullptr.

By allowing nullptr to represent no intended clipping, it makes it easier
to require GrClip and GrAppliedClip objects to know about the dimensions
of the device. If we required a non-null clip object to represent no
clipping, we'd have to have an instance for each device based on its
size and that just became cumbersome.

This makes it more obvious that these files really are part of
SkParagraph and integrate with the Skia test framework and are not part
of core Skia. This is more like how Skottie is setup and helps prevent
misunderstandings about where additional files like this should go and
how the build should be structured.

6cbd7c2e57 Simplify GrRTC::clean APIs
The CanClearFullscreen enum type is removed. Most usages of clear() had
kYes because a null scissor rect was provided, or had kNo because the
scissor was really critical to the behavior. A few places did provide a
scissor and kYes (e.g. for initializing the target).

To simplify this, the public GrRTC has two variants of clear(). One with
only a color (for fullscreen clears), and one with a rect for partial
clears. The private API also adds a clearAtLeast() function that replaces
the several cases where we'd have a scissor but could expand to fullscreen.

I find the current control flow in internalClear() to be hard to
follow (albeit I was the one to make it that way...), but later CLs
will improve it.

f59a961dc9 Add layout(marker) to SkSL
Allows for uniforms to be automatically populated with
marked canvas matrices:

SkSL:
  layout (marker=localToWorld) uniform float4x4 localToWorldMatrix;

C++:
  canvas->concat(...);
  canvas->markCTM("localToWorld");
  canvas->concat(...);
  canvas->drawFoo(...);

Any runtime effects created with that SkSL will have their
localToWorldMatrix uniform filled in with the CTM, ignoring
any transformation that happened before/above the markCTM
call. The marker needs to be a sequence of alphanumeric or
underscore characters, and match the string used in markCTM.

The marker can also be of the form "normals(<string>)", in
which case the uniform will be filled in with the transpose
of the inverse of the upper-left 3x3 portion of the CTM
identified by <string>. This is helpful for transforming
normal vectors, as is often done in lighting.

2b5989005c Bootstrap a very simple viewer implementation in CanvasKit
Adds a "viewer" option to the build system that brings in tooling code
and sample code. Adds a very simple "MakeSlide" binding that knows
how to create the WavyPathText sample slide. Adds viewer.html with
code to animate viewer slides.

This can hopefully be the starting point for future work on bringing
viewer to CanvasKit.
