2d9ec0a420 Reland: [wasm][anyref] Add support of call-indirect for multiple tables
The reason for the revert was that Liftoff did not bail out on indirect
calls to tables other than table 0. Whenever the Liftoff code got
executed, the test would fail.

Original message:
With this CL it is possible to use any anyfunc table in call-indirect,
not just the first table.

The current implementation is based on runtime calls. This is just an
initial implementation which should be replaced by a
dispatch-table-based eventually. However, this implementation allows
us to move forward with the anyref proposal implementation.

1a88414c41 [wasm] Call through dispatch table in interpreter
When running wasm tests, the interpreter previously used a static
collection of function indexes stored in WasmTable to perform
call_indirect calls internal to that module. This has the wrong behavior
if the table is changed (via WasmTableObject::Set, `table.copy`, or
`table.init`).

This CL changes the cctests to always generate an intepreter entry for
all functions, and stores those entries in the dispatch table. This
allows us to use the same execution path as for non-testing code.

The interpreter entry compiler needed to be changed to support
multi-value returns too, since a 64-bit integer return value may be
lowered to two 32-bit integer returns.

9f6ddb48a0 Revert "V8 x64 backend doesn't emit ABI compliant stack frames"
This reverts commit 3cda21de77.

Original change's description:
> V8 x64 backend doesn't emit ABI compliant stack frames

25d8a157b1 [wasm] Split adding code from publishing it
This prepares a refactoring to add and publish compilation results in
batches. For this, we need to separate the two phases, so that we can
lock the module, allocate all the code space, release the lock, copy
the code, lock the module, publish the code, and release the lock
again.
In particular, this CL does the following:
1) It removes the {AddOwnedCode} method. The functionality of creating
the {WasmCode} and memcpy'ing the instruction into that is done in
the other {Add*Code} methods. Adding to {owned_code_} is done in
   {PublishCode}.
2) {PublishInterpreterEntry} is now functionally equivalent to
   {PublishCode}, so it's removed.
3) After {AddCode}, the caller has to call {PublishCode}. In a
follow-up CL, this will be called in batches (first {AddCode} them
   all, then {PublishCode} them all).
4) {AddCompiledCode} now assumes that the {WasmCompilationResult}
succeeded. Otherwise, the caller should directly call {SetError} on
   the {CompilationState}.
5) {PublishCode} is now the chokepoint for installing code to the code
table, the owned code vector, the jump table, and setting interpreter
redirections. It replaces previous direct calls to {InstallCode} or
   explicitly adding to {owned_code_}.
6) Increasing the {generated_code_size_} counter is now done in
{AllocateForCode}, which is the chokepoint for allocating space for
generated code. This way, we will only increase this counter once
   once we allocate in batches.

0feff465fb [wasm] Turn {WasmCompileLazy} stub into a runtime stub.
This removes the special casing for the lazy compilation stub which used
to have its own code kind, just so that the stack walker would properly
recognize its frame.

Also, by re-using the existing machinery for runtime stubs we no longer
need to copy this stub into the native module and get all the niceties
that come with embedded builtins for free.

Thirdly this will make it easier to start lazy compilation from the
background or to do it on a per-function basis without requiring yet
more special machinery, since {NativeModule::SetLazyBuiltin} no longer
requires access to the Isolate.

Kudos for the inspiration for this cleanup go to Frederik, I merely did
some of the legwork.

The array allocated in {SetInterpreterRedirection} was accidentally
left uninitialized, which could result in later calls to

This was uncovered by an unrelated change. It's covered by existing

ffabcbe8c0 [test] Manually restore changed flags in SaveFlags
SaveFlags previously worked by re-setting the flags using the command
line. Unfortunately, this could reset flags being used by concurrent
processes, which would cause TSAN issues.

Now, SaveFlags stores a copy of the state of all flags on creation, and
only resets changed flags in its destructor. It does this by (ab)using
the flag-definitions.h pseudo-header, adding a new mode to that header
which applies an includer-defined macro to each flag definition.

3cda21de77 V8 x64 backend doesn't emit ABI compliant stack frames
On 64 bit Windows, the OS stack walking does not work because the V8 x64
backend doesn't emit unwinding info and also because it doesn't emit ABI
compliant stack frames. See
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-wf50jFlii0c_Pr52lm2ZU-49m220nhYMrHDi3vXnh0/edit
for more details.

This problem can be fixed by observing that V8 frames usually all have the same
prolog and epilog:

push rbp,
mov rbp, rsp
...
pop rbp
ret N

and that it is possible to define XDATA (UNWIND_CODEs) that specify how Windows
should walk through V8 frames. Furthermore, since V8 Code objects are all
allocated in the same code-range for an Isolate, it is possible to register a
single PDATA/XDATA entry to cover stack walking for all the code generated
inside that code-range.

This PR contains changes required to enable stack walking on Win64:

EmbeddedFileWriter now adds assembler directives to the builtins
snapshot source file (embedded.cc) to emit additional entries in the .pdata and
in the .xdata section of the V8 executable. This takes care of stack walking
for embedded builtins. (The case of non-embedded builtins is not supported).
The x64 Assembler has been modified to collect the information required to emit
this unwind info for builtins.

Stack walking for jitted code is handled is Isolate.cpp, by registering
dynamically PDATA/XDATA for the whole code-range address space every time a new
Isolate is initialized, and by unregistering them when the Isolate is
destroyed.

Stack walking for WASM jitted code is handled is the same way in
wasm::NativeModule (wasm/wasm-code-manager.cpp).

It is important to note that Crashpad and Breakpad are already registering
PDATA/XDATA to manage and report unhandled exceptions (but not for embedded
builtins). Since it is not possible to register multiple PDATA entries for the
same address range, a new function is added to the V8 API:
SetUnhandledExceptionCallback() can be used by an embedder to register its own
unhandled exception handler for exceptions that arise in v8-generated code.
V8 embedders should be modified accordingly (code for this is in a separate PR
in the Chromium repository:
https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/1474703).

All these changes are experimental, behind:

the 'v8_win64_unwinding_info' build flag, and
the '--win64-unwinding-info' runtime flag.

b176931311 [regalloc] Introduce deferred fixed ranges
Fixed ranges are used to express register constraints in the
allocator. This change splits these fixed ranges into one for
normal code and deferred code. The former are handeled as before
whereas the latter are only made visible while allocating
registers for deferred code.

This prevents forward looking decisions in normal code to be
impacted by register constraints from deferred code.

da66158fe1 [platform] Implement delayed tasks in the default worker runner
This was unimplemented but is needed for Perfetto which posts delayed
tasks on worker threads e.g. drain the trace buffer into a file every x
seconds.

This is implemented by adding a second queue which holds the delayed
tasks in chronological order of 'next-to-execute'. We use an
std::multimap for the queue so that we can easily get the next delayed
task with begin().

The implementation will move delayed tasks into the main task queue
when their deadline expires.

Drive-by cleanup of the runner destructor which can just use = default.

d6a60a0ee1 [turbofan] Significantly improve ConsString creation performance.
This change significantly improves the performance of string
concatenation in optimized code for the case where the resulting string
is represented as a ConsString. On the relevant test cases we go from

  serializeNaive: 10762 ms.
  serializeClever: 7813 ms.
  serializeConcat: 10271 ms.

to

  serializeNaive: 10278 ms.
  serializeClever: 5533 ms.
  serializeConcat: 10310 ms.

which represents a 30% improvement on the "clever" benchmark, which
tests specifically the ConsString creation performance.

This was accomplished via a couple of different steps, which are briefly
outlined here:

  1. The empty_string gets its own map, so that we can easily recognize
and handle it appropriately in the TurboFan type system. This
allows us to express (and assert) that the inputs to NewConsString
are non-empty strings, making sure that TurboFan no longer creates
"crippled ConsStrings" with empty left or right hand sides.
  2. Further split the existing String types in TurboFan to be able to
distinguish between OneByte and TwoByte strings on the type system
level. This allows us to avoid having to dynamically lookup the
resulting ConsString map in case of ConsString creation (i.e. when
we know that both input strings are OneByte strings or at least
one of the input strings is TwoByte).
  3. We also introduced more finegrained feedback for the Add bytecode
in the interpreter, having it collect feedback about ConsStrings,
specifically ConsOneByteString and ConsTwoByteString. This feedback
can be used by TurboFan to only inline the relevant code for what
was seen so far. This allows us to remove the Octane/Splay specific
magic in JSTypedLowering to detect ConsString creation, and instead
purely rely on the feedback of what was seen so far (also making it
possible to change the semantics of NewConsString to be a low-level
operator, which is only introduced in SimplifiedLowering by looking
at the input types of StringConcat).
  4. On top of the before mentioned type and interpreter changes we added
     new operators CheckNonEmptyString, CheckNonEmptyOneByteString, and
CheckNonEmptyTwoByteString, which perform the appropriate (dynamic)
     checks.

There are several more improvements that are possible based on this, but
since the change was already quite big, we decided not to put everything
into the first change, but do some follow up tweaks to the type system,
and builtin optimizations later.

As part of making this change, I realized that we didn't actually
toggle the behavior between the optimized and unoptimized version
based on the --harmony-await-optimization flag at all and just the
unoptimized version by default.

This patch removes the unoptimized version and uses the optimized
version as the default.

The other builtins that use this flag are not touched as part of this

d922171717 [turbofan] Unify code that determines a JSCreate's map
There were four places where we did essentially the same steps in
order to extract the initial map for inlining a JSCreate operation.
This CL creates a function on NodeProperties for this task.

As a side effect, this fixes a bug in ReduceJSCreateArray, where
has_initial_map could get called when it wasn't permissible to do so.

Notes: For simplicity, in one or two places where we used to get the
target/newtarget constants from the types we now get them from
HeapConstant nodes.

Cosmetic change: rename "receiver_map" to the more accurate
"root_map" in JSNativeContextSpecialization::ExtractReceiverMaps.

eb1d2d7098 [wasm] Make error messages deterministic
Compilation only stores whether an error has been found, but not the
exact error or it's location. This is generated by running a validation
pass once all wire bytes have been received.
This unifies error messages by removing one more location where we
generate compilation error messages, and makes it deterministic because
a) we always report the error in the first failing function, and
b) if names are present, the error message will always contain the
   function name.

04bb707e52 [turbofan] Preprocess feedback for global accesses (partially)
Main changes:
- Rename ProcessedFeedback to ElementAccessFeedback and introduce a base class
  with the old name ProcessedFeedback.
- Introduce another kind of ProcessedFeedback, namely GlobalAccessFeedback for
the LoadGlobal/StoreGlobal IC. It's either a PropertyCell or a script context
  slot.
- Produce such processed feedback in the serializer, when visiting LdaGlobal and
  similar bytecodes.
- Consume it, and disallow heap access, in JSNativeContextSpecialization's
  ReduceJSLoadGlobal and ReduceJSStoreGlobal (for --concurrent-inlining).

Minor changes:
- Introduce a FeedbackSource class (pair of FeedbackVector and FeedbackSlot)
that is used as the key of the processed feedback hash table. We already have
two similar classes, FeedbackNexus and VectorSlotPair, but both are unsuitable
for technical reasons (e.g. FeedbackNexus construction accesses the heap).
  Eventually we should remove VectorSlotPair.
- Processed feedback is now returned as a pointer, which is nullptr if the
original feedback wasn't interesting (e.g. megamorphic).

The title says "partially" because the CL doesn't yet take into account named
accesses where the receiver happens to be the global proxy.

3df442d738 [wasm] Keep NativeModule alive in BackgroundCompileScope
We need to ensure that the NativeModule stays alive while any
{BackgroundCompileScope} exists, because during that time we hold
shared ownership of the mutex in the {BackgroundCompileToken}. If the
{NativeModule} dies during that period, we would need to get exclusive
ownership of the mutex and deadlock.

This change requires holding a {std::weak_ptr<NativeModule>} in the
BackgroundCompileToken instead of a raw pointer, hence it can only be
initialized after the NativeModule was created. This is done via a
separate {InitCompilationState} method.

b9962a9a96 [csa] Make JSProxy's CheckGetSetTrapResult bailout for certain names
The TryGetOwnProperty code supports only unique names that are not
array indices. Unfortunately, this is neither obvious from its type,
nor from its comment, nor from its code.

ProxiesCodeStubAssembler::CheckHasTrapResult violated the assumption
and was already fixed a few days ago. This CL fixes
CheckGetSetTrapResult and improves our code documentation in the
form of comments and assertions. Concretely:

- Add CodeStubAssembler::IsUniqueName and IsUniqueNameNoIndex
- Use IsUniqueNameNoIndex in CheckGetSetTrapResult to guard
TryGetOwnProperty (bailout to runtime if not satisfied).
- Similarly, use IsUniqueNameNoIndex to simplify the previous fix in
  CheckHasTrapResult.
- Add a IsUniqueNameNoIndex CSA_ASSERT to TryGetOwnProperty and a few
other places to avoid such bugs in the future.
- Add a IsUniqueName CSA_ASSERT to a few places where we apparently
expect unique names (I don't know if those allow indices or not).
- Add a DCHECK to Name::IsUniqueName to ensure and document that this
shortcut version is equivalent to HeapObject::IsUniqueName.

1a81a3920e [wasm] Sync wasm-module-builder.js back to spec version
In particular, remove {toUint8Array} method and make {toBuffer} return
a {Uint8Array} view to the buffer like before
https://crrev.com/c/1508352. Also, the returned view does not need to be
another copy of the bytes, it can really just be a view.

As a follow-up, this requires the test-only DeserializeWasmModule
runtime method to receive the wire bytes as Uint8Array, and also
requires the {IsWasmCompileAllowed} callback to handle
{ArrayBufferView} (like chromium's version already does).

0793bb8498 [regexp] Allow heap allocation on stack overflows
The regexp interpreter holds several unhandlified references to heap
objects, and is thus within a DisallowHeapAllocation scope. But there
are two situations in which we can and do allocate safely:

1. When creating & throwing a stack overflow exception. The interpreter
aborts afterwards, and thus possible-moved objects are never used.
2. When handling interrupts. We manually relocate unhandlified references
   after interrupts have run.

This CL explicitly allows allocations on stack overflows.

Isolate::StackOverflow allocates heap objects.

e162eb4443 [wasm] Fix insufficient bounds check in WebAssembly.get
According to the wasm js-spec, the table index can be uint32. The
implementation in our implementation expected an int though. We did not
check for the int overflow.

I replaced the throwing of the exception in WasmTableObject::Get to use
the ErrorThrower instead of throwing the exception with Isolate::Throw
directly. The reason is that I see with other CL's that I have to throw
several errors, and I don't want to introduce a new message and
MessageId for every error. Moreover, the ErrorThrower is a standard way
in wasm to throw errors. It feels right to throw the error the same way
here.

dd580e8fdf [regexp] Fix sticky callable replace with OOB lastIndex
When given a sticky regexp s.t. lastIndex > subject.length, the
following should happen:

1. exec returns null (= no match)
2. lastIndex is reset to 0.

This is usually done by the RegExp.p.exec builtin; but in some cases
we take different paths and try to re-implement the parts of exec that
we need.

One of these cases was in %StringReplaceNonGlobalRegExpWithFunction.
Here, we set lastIndex to 0 but then incorrectly called into
RegExpImpl::Exec. REI::Exec started matching with lastIndex == 0,
which is just plain wrong. With this CL we now correctly omit the
REI::Exec call and return null.

c931faa200 [wasm] Remove the table_object instance field
The table_object instance field is not needed anymore because its
purpose is fulfilled now by the tables field I introduced to support
multiple tables.

In addition I removed {table_instances_} from the {InstanceBuilder}.
This field existed because tables could exist without a WasmTableObject.
With recent changes, WasmTableObjects always exist.

4e321413d8 Allocate feedback cells in an array decoupled from other slots
This is a pre-work for allocating feedback vectors lazily. Feedback cells
are required to share the feedback vectors across the different closures
of the same function. Currently, they are held in the CreateClosureSlot
in the feedback vector. With lazy feedback vector allocation, we may not
have a feedback vector. However, we still need a place to store the
feedback cells, so if feedback vector is allocated in future it can still
be shared across closures.

93d1508db0 [builtins] Reimplement ToString as CSA to optimize performance
Currently, if input types are not string or number, ToString builtin
will fall into runtime and a loop of ToPrimitive and type-checks is
done in runtime, which is slow.

This CL reimplements ToString to add support for that ToPrimitive and
type-checks loop in CSA instead of runtime to improve performance. This
will benefit Array.prototype.toString/join a lot when the array elements
are objects.

This Cl improves the performance of Speedometer2.0 EmberJS-Debug case
by ~14% on Atom.

4706fa7106 aix: fix function_descriptor issue on regexp
the problem is that we call irregexp code in two ways:

1. CallCFunction9 from CSA builtins
2. Through GeneratedCode::Call from the runtime.

1 is a standard C call and expects the target to be a FD,
2 is our own implementation where we dynamically generate a FD.
So there's a mismatch between the two.

275402260c [wasm] Construct WasmExportedFunctions for table elements lazily
We have to create WasmExportedFunction objects for any WebAssembly
function which may escape a WebAssembly instance. Up until now we
created these WasmExportedFunction objects eagerly during instantiation
time: for any exported function, and any element in an exported table we
create such an object.

With the anyref proposal, the table.get instruction can allow any
function in a table to escape its instance. Therefore we would have to
create a WasmExportedFunction object for any function which is put into
a table.

With this CL we create WasmExportedFunctions for table entries lazily.
We initialize tables with placeholders consisting of the instance and
the function index. If we encounter a placeholder in table.get, we
create the WasmExportedFunction for the expected function to return it.

34b467e1cd [ubsan] Fix two more UBSan issues
RotateRight32 needs a "number of bits" operand in the range 0..31.
Thankfully that's how x86 shift instructions behave anyway, and
how the bitwise shift operators in JavaScript are spec'ed, so this
fix is unobservable in non-UBSan builds.

RemoveArrayHolesGeneric can be used for length values anywhere in
the uint32_t range, so it must not implicitly cast those to int.
That actually caused an observable bug where a proxy's traps would
not get called at all, but only for huge "length" properties, where
the entire operation would also be painfully slow.

4e6a1a75cd [heap] Clean-up some weak map entries in scavenger
This change enables clean-up of weak map entries in the
scavenger of the weak map is in the young generation.
With this change, the scavenger treats keys in ephemerons as
weak instead of strong, but does not implement full ephemeron
semantics: Values are treated always as strong, independently
of whether the key is live or not.

This approach ensures that no value is cleaned up accidentally.
After scavenging, all entries with dead keys are removed from
weak maps. After that, some values that are not referenced anywhere
anymore might still be in the heap, and those can be cleaned up
in the next scavenge.

What the scavenger does, amounts to one iteration of the
fixed-point algorithm required to implement ephemeron semantics.
We hope that this is a reasonable trade-off between time spent
tracing and cleaned-up entries.

This change does not affect weak maps that reside in old space.

6e98fa925e Rename FormatMessage method
Some windows toolchains contain a macro name 'FormatMessage', making
compilation fail, see e.g.
https://ci.chromium.org/p/v8/builders/try/v8_win64_msvc_compile_rel/b8919741418899023808.

Hence rename {MessageFormatter::FormatMessage} to
{MessageFormatter::Format}.
