for investigating V8 state in crash dumps.
This change adds a new library, v8_debug_helper, for providing platform-

by extensions built for debuggers such as WinDbg or lldb. Its public API
is described by debug-helper.h; currently the only method it exposes is
GetObjectProperties, but we'd like to add more functionality over time.
The API surface is restricted to plain C-style structs and pointers, so
that it's easy to link from a debugger extension built with a different
toolchain.
This change also adds a new cctest file to exercise some basic
interaction with the new library.
The API function GetObjectProperties takes an object pointer (which
could be compressed, or weak, or a SMI), and returns a string
description of the object and a list of properties the object contains.
For now, the list of properties is entirely based on Torque object
definitions, but we expect to add custom properties in future updates so
that it can be easier to make sense of complex data structures such as
dictionaries.
GetObjectProperties does several things that are intended to generate
somewhat useful results even in cases where memory may be corrupt or
unavailable:
- The caller may optionally provide a type string which will be used if
the memory for the object's Map is inaccessible.
- All object pointers are compared against the list of known objects
generated by mkgrokdump. The caller may optionally provide the
pointers for the first pages of various heap spaces, to avoid spurious
matches. If those pointers are not provided, then any matches are

There is a generated file config.descriptor which is an output file
for a particular target. When we try to add this to sources, it breaks
as GN no longer silently accepts files with invalid types as sources.
This breakage was due to recently-rolled changes to fix crbug.com/gn/77
Similar fixes have been used here: crbug.com/964411

Add a new abstract class TraceEventListener which is just an interface
for consuming trace events. This separates the V8-specific stuff that
an actual perfetto consumer needs to do e.g. handling the has_more flag
and signalling back to the controller with a semaphore.
This is a change from the previous plan of making the PerfettoConsumer
class sub-classable to implement custom consumption of trace events.
This will be difficult when the consumer is created outside of the
PerfettoTracingController as we can't hook up the
consumer_finished_semaphore_ that belongs to the controller.
Now the PerfettoTracingController is responsible for the Consumer life-
cycle and hides it entirely from callers. We add the
AddTraceEventListener() method to allow callers to register a listener
either for testing or a JSON listener for real tracing.
This lets us write tests that can store all the trace events in memory
without first converting them to JSON, letting us write test more
easily. There's an example test add to test-tracing - more tests using
this style will follow.

This changes debug builds [1] to compile src/compiler sources twice:
1. with optimizations, used in mksnapshot to improve performance.
2. without optimizations, linked into d8 and v8 libraries.
While this adds ~200 compilation targets, these can be built in parallel
and should not add much time overall.
This brings mksnapshot runtime back down to 11 seconds on my machine.

jumbo.gni will check whether use_jumbo_build is set or not and
if it's not set it will just check that |jumbo_excluded_sources|
lists do not include non-existing files. That means that there
is little/nothing to lose by always routing v8_source_set that
way, and it adds a bit in build file simplicity and local
checking of |jumbo_excluded_sources|.

The multi-snapshot feature is only used on bots, where we need the
ability to execute tests with/without mitigations controllable through a
runtime flag.
This disables the flag by default and only enables it on bot configs.
Note: standard single-snapshot builds silently use the available
snapshot regardless of the value of --untrusted-code-mitigations.

To speed up compilation times, jumbo allows files to be compiled
together. This is a well known method ("unity builds") to both
compile faster and create a poor man's "full program optimization".
We are only interested in compile times.

Before this CL, cctest with component build will depend on the static v8
snapshot target and omit to dump the build configuration.
Now we simply write the configuration when building any v8
executable. In pure library builds, we don't need the configuration, as
it's used by the test framework to auto-detect testing options.

This adds optional multi-architecture builds, allowing to compile
x86 and x64 in one build. The correctness fuzzer can be configured to
compare the two executables, e.g. to compare x86 to x64 run the
launcher with: --second-d8=clang_x86/d8 in an x64 build.
Configuring the executable's architecture is now simplified and
inferred from the gn build configuration.
Building for clusterfuzz has now a new canonical target that can be
used by the infrastructure (defaults to d8).
The clusterfuzz release builder is now defined to compile
multi-arch builds, which will have an effect as soon as the
infrastructure refers to the new clusterfuzz target.

We're converting the build_overrides system to the new default_args list of
overrides that can be listed in the toplevel .gn file. This will allow args to
be set on a per-repo basis.
This change conditionally adds the variables currently defined in
build_overrides/v8.gni to build args. This allows V8's build to be used in both
the new and old systems. Once all Chrome and pdfium have been updated, v8's
build overrides and the conditional checks around the new args can be removed.

Instead of directly using v8_enable_inspector_override from
build_overrides/v8.gni in all the GN configs, set a v8_enable_inspector
variable based on v8_enable_inspector_override and use that everywhere.
This is the more common pattern seen in over projects, and reduces the
need to include //build_overrides/v8.gni in many files.

This makes the isolate-driver script rebase all paths to be
relative to the isolate-file location. This is an assumption
of the go binaries and is needed for batcharchive to work.
In gyp, actions were executed relative to the gyp file that
specified them, while in gn it's relative to the product dir.
