f2da19fe39 [builtins] Migrate Math.log to TurboFan.
Introduce a dedicated Float64Log machine operator, that is either
implemented by a direct C call or by platform specific code, i.e.
using the FPU on x64 and ia32.

This operator is used to implement Math.log as a proper TurboFan
builtin on top of the CodeStubAssembler.

Also introduce a NumberLog simplified operator on top of Float64Log
and use that for the fast inline path of Math.log inside TurboFan
optimized code.

216bcf9fb3 [turbofan] Initial version of number type feedback.
This introduces optimized number operations based on type feedback.

Summary of changes:

1. Typed lowering produces SpeculativeNumberAdd/Subtract for JSAdd/Subtract if
there is suitable feedback. The speculative nodes are connected to both the
effect chain and the control chain and they retain the eager frame state.

2. Simplified lowering now executes in three phases:
  a. Propagation phase computes truncations by traversing the graph from uses to
definitions until checkpoint is reached. It also records type-check decisions
for later typing phase, and computes representation.
  b. The typing phase computes more precise types base on the speculative types (and recomputes
     representation for affected nodes).
  c. The lowering phase performs lowering and inserts representation changes and/or checks.

3. Effect-control linearization lowers the checks to machine graphs.

Notes:

- SimplifiedLowering will be refactored to have handling of each operation one place and
with clearer input/output protocol for each sub-phase. I would prefer to do this once
we have more operations implemented, and the pattern is clearer.

- The check operations (Checked<A>To<B>) should have some flags that would affect
the kind of truncations that they can handle. E.g., if we know that a node produces
a number, we can omit the oddball check in the CheckedTaggedToFloat64 lowering.

- In future, we want the typer to reuse the logic from OperationTyper.

Additionally, we need to record environment markers even for the

optimizes to constant for the inlined case or to HArgumentsLength
when not inlined).

2fd3f9d69b [Interpreter] Don't try to eliminate dead-code in bytecode-array-builder
Eliminating dead code in the bytecode array builder doesn't play nice
with the register elimination optimizer. We should move it to it's own
stage in the optimization pipeline, however doing so would require
refactoring of how we deal with jumps, so for now just remove the dead
code elimination optimization.

1428fbe224 [crankshaft] Only exclude explicit 'arguments' (and 'this') from liveness analysis.
Currently, we do not emit EnvironmentMarkers if the hydrogen value
in the environment is arguments object. As the hydrogen value can change
for local variables, we emit only some environment markers. That can
cause environment liveness analysis to mark part of live range as live
and part as dead. The zapping phase then only inserts zaps in
live->dead transitions, potentially zapping a live value.

With this CL, we only emit EnvironmentMarkers for 'this' and
'arguments' local variables, disregarding the hydrogen value.

46253e743d [esnext] Fix various callsites to use is_resumable, not is_generator
Async functions are built out of generators, but the
SharedFunctionInfo returns false for is_generator. is_resumable is
the broader query. This patch fixes many parts of V8 to refer
to is_resumable as appropriate.

One incidental change is to remove a check for generators extending
classes. This is part of a general check for constructors being the
only thing which can extend classes, so it is removed here and the
error message for the general case is made more accurate.

8c31bd81f2 [builtins] Rewrite uri.js as builtin functions.
Rewrite decodeURI and decodeURIComponent as builtin functions
and install them in the bootstrapper.

Delete unused runtime functions:

Add regression test for decoding large strings. Clusterfuzz detected

In ES2015, the "byteLength" and "byteOffset" properties of DataViews are

A future CL will need to use the same strategy which will be taken for
TypedArray "length", "byteLength", and "byteOffset": adding a prototype

4aec7ba1aa [wasm] Implement parallel compilation.
With this CL it is possible to compile a wasm module with multiple
threads in parallel. Parallel compilation works as follows:

1) The main thread allocates a compilation unit for each wasm function.
2) The main thread spawns WasmCompilationTasks which run on the
     background threads.
3.a) The background threads and the main thread pick one compilation unit

After finishing the execution of the parallel phase, the compilation
unit is stored in a result queue.
3.b) If the result queue contains a compilation unit, the main thread

40f345416f [Interpreter] Fix incorrect frame walking in arguments create stubs
The previous approach taken by FastNew[Sloppy,Strict,Rest]ArgumentsStub
looked at the function slot in order to skip stub frames
and find the JS frame. However, stub frames do not have a
function slot (in fact their fixed frame ends one slot
before the JS frame's function slot). Therefore, if this
location in the stub frame happens to have the function
object the create arguments stubs won't skip this frame
correctly.

Replace this approach with one where the stub is
specialized to either skip a frame if required (since
there will only ever be one extra frame on Ignition
the loop approach isn't necessary).

1721543865 [wasm] Implement parallel compilation.
With this CL it is possible to compile a wasm module with multiple
threads in parallel. Parallel compilation works as follows:

1) The main thread allocates a compilation unit for each wasm function.
2) The main thread spawns WasmCompilationTasks which run on the
     background threads.
3.a) The background threads and the main thread pick one compilation unit
at a time and execute the parallel phase of the compilation unit.
After finishing the execution of the parallel phase, the compilation
unit is stored in a result queue.
3.b) If the result queue contains a compilation unit, the main thread
dequeues it and finishes its compilation.
4) After the execution of the parallel phase of all compilation units has
started, the main thread waits for all WasmCompilationTasks to finish.
5) The main thread finalizes the compilation of the module.

I'm going to add some additional tests before committing this CL.

a4cd1eef0a [wasm] Make wasm info available on the stack trace
This changes different locations to extract the reference to the wasm

The javascript CallSite object now has the new methods isWasm(),
getWasmObject() and getWasmFunctionIndex(); the byte offset is
available via getPosition().

Function names of wasm frames should be fully functional with this
commit, position information works reliably for calls, but not for
traps like unreachable or out-of-bounds accesses.

75f2d65f00 Don't treat catch scopes as possibly-shadowing for sloppy eval
Scope analysis is over-conservative when treating variable resolutions
as possibly-shadowed by a sloppy eval. In the attached bug, this comes
into play since catch scopes have different behavior with respect to
the "calls eval" in eager vs lazy compilation (in the latter, they
are never marked as "calls eval" because CatchContexts don't have
an associated ScopeInfo).

This patch changes the scope-type check to also eliminate a few other
cases where shadowing isn't possible, such as non-declaration block scopes.

04c8c11ee5 Make array __proto__ manipulations not disturb the species protector
Previously, the species protector was invalidated whenever the __proto__ of
an Array instance was manipulated. Then, if the map's new_target_is_base field
remained set, it was correct to conclude that GetPrototypeOf(array) was
%ArrayPrototype%. However, this choice caused the popular D3 framework to
invalidate the species protector, causing many functions to become slower.

This patch eliminates that aspect of the species protector. Instead, the check
is to look at the instance->map()->prototype(). It is valid to look directly
at the map's prototype slot, ignoring hidden prototypes and proxies, because
- This is only called on Array instances, so the receiver cannot be a Proxy.
- For hidden prototypes, any inaccuracy would only result in conservatively
  taking the slow path.

Theoretically, this patch could make methods applied to arrays from other
contexts slower. However, the slowdown would only affect a particular array
instance and not have a global spill-over effect. Further, the slowdown could
be addressed by tracking, either in the instance's map or in the actual
prototype object, whether it is a %ArrayPrototype% from any context, in a way
which is cheap to query, and use that rather than comparing to the currently
executing native context.

In interactive testing, this patch led the OnShape CAD system to experience
faster load times (110+s -> 40s).

c8a342a582 Fix 'eval' in class extends clauses to be always-strict
Compiler backends get their language mode from the current

This allows proper handling of the always-strictness of class declarations

Also fix the parser's RecordEvalCall logic to only reach out to the

sloppy function thinking it contains a sloppy eval when in fact
it contains only a strict eval.

aee17a63b3 [prof] export slide offset in profile log

symbol names to their addresses in the log.

e530556471 [wasm] Add test case for stack trace of wasm traps
Since traps now throw real Error objects, we get stack traces
containing <WASM> functions on top-level. The additional tests check

e96cbdcdd6 More accurately record an end position for default parameters in arrows
Our previous over-conservative answer caused us to emit hole checks in
full-codegen when eagerly parsing but not when lazily parsing.

With this patch, we use the positions of the BinaryOperations making up
the parameter list (which are the positions of the commas) to determine
the appropriate "end position" for each parameter's initializer. This means
that we get accurate-enough positions for the initializers in the eager
parsing step to get the same answers for hole-check-elimination that we
will later during ParseLazy.

In the included test case, for example:

  (function() { ((s = 17, y = s) => s)(); } )();
                        ^2 ^1

The old code would generate a hole check when trying to load
|s| for assignment to |y| (because it treated the closing parentheses
pointed to by "^1" as the "initialization position" of |s|).

The new code uses the comma pointed to by "^2" as the initialization
position of |s|. Since that occurs textually before the load of |s|,
full-codegen knows it can avoid the hole check.

460bff5fb6 [compiler] Make feedback vector cope with flag changes.
This fixes corner cases where the layout of feedback vectors baked into
the snapshot is different from the expected layout, depending on some
runtime flags. We make sure the feedback vector is regenereated for
functions that are not compiled. Flag changes of this kind are only
allowed when code is not serialized.

An alternative solution would be to not serialize the feedback vector
for such cases in the first place. That solution however would have a
higher overhead, as it would required the serializer to be able to
recognize feedback vectors while generating a snapshot.

9acbca1845 [es6] Fix bug in pattern re-writing
As originally implemented, a SingleNameBinding within a BindingPattern
was incorrectly interpreted as an assignment if an initializer was
present and that initializer was itself an AssignmentExpresion.
For example:

    let x;
    { let [x = y = 1] = []; }
    print(x); // expected: undefined, actual: 1

Extend the heuristic that detects the "context" of a destructuring
pattern to account for AssignmentExpressions within SingleNameBindings.

f60048c556 [destructuring] don't attempt to visit contents of FunctionLiterals
The parser eagerly rewrites destructuring assignments occuring
in formal parameter initializers, because not doing so would
cause the BindingPattern rewriting to be confused and do the
wrong thing.

This change prevents this rewriting from descending into the
bodies of lazily parsed functions.

In general, it's a mistake to descend into the bodies of function
literals anyways, since they are rewritten separately on their
own time, so there is no distinction made between lazily
"throw away" eagerly parsed functions in the temporary parser
arena, or "real" eagerly parsed functions that will be compiled.

7a38462e8b Ensure CreateDataProperty works correctly on TypedArrays
Previously, CreateDataProperty would fail a DCHECK when used to create
an integer indexed property on a TypedArray. This patch makes it throw
a TypeError instead. The issue came up when Array.prototype.concat
was repaired to use CreateDataProperty rather than SetElement; concat
can be tricked into making a new TypedArray if it is given an Array
whose prototype is a TypedArray. This patch prevents the issue.

4142bc6bc1 [turbofan] Restrict types in load elimination.
In simplified numbering, we make sanity checks based on types (e.g.,
NumberSubtract should take numbers as inputs), but this can be
violated if optimization passes make types less precise.

In this CL, we fix load elimination to make sure that types are
smaller in the store -> load elimination by taking an intersection
of the load's type with the store value's type and inserting a guard
with that type. Note that the load type comes from type feedback, so
it can be disjoint from the stored value type (in that case, this
must be dead code because the map chack for the load should prevent
us from using the stored value).

4edf16ddd9 Fix treatment of rest pattern in array destructuring.
When seeing a rest pattern, we used to get the remaining elements from the
iterator by calling %concat_iterable_to_array on it. This was wrong because it
caused an observable [[Get]] for @@iterator (which the iterator may not even
provide).

This CL gets rid of the call to %concat_iterable_to_array and does the iteration
manually in a simple while-loop. It also gets rid of %concat_iterable_to_array
itself because there aren't any other uses of it.

6df9a22c3f [ic] Use the CallFunction builtin to invoke accessors.
The HandlerCompiler did not properly handle the weird edge case when a
sloppy mode function was installed as an accessor on one of the value
wrapper prototypes and then accessed via a load from a primitive value.
In this case we just passed the primitive value untouched instead of
properly wrapping it first. The CallFunction builtin properly deals with
all the funny edge cases, so we use it instead of duplicating almost all
of the logic here (the performance difference is neglible).

In the earlier implementation of GenerateDoubleToObject the context
is loaded from the parent's frame. rsi is clobbered because it is used

frame is stored at FP + 1. GenerateDoubleToObject expects context
to be store at that place. In the current implementation rsi is pushed

Migrate Math.ceil, Math.round and Math.trunc to TurboFan code stubs,

ToInteger and ToLength optimizations that will be done in a followup CL.

Also allows us to kill the funky %RoundNumber runtime function, which
was quite heavy.

Improve test coverage for Math.ceil and Math.trunc a lot, especially
making sure that we also properly trigger the TurboFan builtin reducer

b82720df34 [Interpreter] Adds support to fetch return value on break at return.
Debugger fetches the return value of a function when we break at return.
Interpreter holds the return value in accumulator. This is not stored in a
specified location on stack and hence it is not possible to look it up from
stack similar to full-codegen or optimized frames. This cl adds support to
store the value of accumulator on debug breaks. The value of accumulator is
passed to the runtime function and is then stored in thread local data.

Also changes full-codegen implementation to match that of ignition.
The return value from full-codegen is also stored in thread local data.
The return value is fetched directly thread local data instead of
finding it by iterating over frames.

978ad03b92 [crankshaft] Address the deoptimization loops of Math.floor, Math.round and Math.ceil.
Fix and re-enable the flexible representation for Math.floor (which is used to
implement Math.ceil) and Math.round, which allows Math.floor and Math.round to
return double results instead of int32, and therefore allows values outside
the int32 range, especially -0 is now a valid result, which doesn't deopt.

Also port this feature to x64 and ia32 when the CPU supports the SSE4.1
extension.

This addresses all the known deoptimization loops related to Math.round
in the Kraken benchmark suite, and seems to also address most of the
deoptimization loops related to Math.floor in the Oort Online benchmark.

Drive-by-fix: Import the regression tests for the broken HMathFloorOfDiv
optimization that caused the initial revert of the feature (for arm64 only
back then).

80803aa89e Remove RegExp.prototype.source getter compat workaround
The getter RegExp.prototype.source is specified in ES2015 to throw when
called on a non-RegExp instance, such as RegExp.prototype. We had previously
put in a compatibility workaround for all RegExp getters to make them
throw on access specifically with RegExp.prototype as the receiver; however,
we only have evidence that this is needed for properties other than source.
This patch removes the compatibility workaround for get RegExp.prototype.source
and gives it semantics precisely as per the ES2015 specification.

92a571e546 Add ES2015 RegExp full subclassing semantics behind a flag
This patch implements ES2015 RegExp subclassing semantics, namely the
hardest part where RegExp.prototype.exec and certain flag getters can
be overridden in order to provide different behavior. This change is
hidden behind a new flag, --harmony-regexp-exec. The flag guards the
behavior by installing entirely different implementations of the
methods which follow the new semantics.

Preliminary performance tests show a 3-4x regression in the Octane
RegExp benchmark. The new code doesn't call out into several fast
paths that the old code supported, so this is expected.

The patch is tested mostly by test262, where most RegExp tests are fixed,
with the exception of deliberate spec violations for web compatibility,
and for the 'sticky' flag, which is not dynamically read by this patch
in all cases but rather statically compiled into the RegExp. The latter
will require a follow-on patch to implement. A small additional set of
tests verifies one particular case, mostly to check whether the flag
mechanism works.

2efc138131 [proxies] use [[GetPrototypeOf]] trap in for-in key accumulation
With the recent spec change removing the [[Enumerate]] internal method, we now
have to walk the complete prototype chain. This implies that we call the
[[GetPrototypeOf]] trap on proxies.

As a secondary change we now trigger the [[GetOwnProperty]] trap for the for-in
filter step to see whether the properties are still enumerable. Before we did this
in the key-accumulation phase. This way we slightly reduce the number of traps
invoked. Whilst this is not ideal, it comes closer to the Spec's example
implementation.

ed18aa65ea Remove support for legacy const, part 1
Now that ES2015 const has shipped, in Chrome 49, legacy const declarations
are no more. This lets us remove a bunch of code from many parts of the
codebase.

In this patch, I remove parser support for generating legacy const variables
from const declarations. This also removes the special "illegal declaration"
bit from Scope, which has ripples into all compiler backends.

Also gone are any tests which relied on legacy const declarations.

Note that we do still generate a Variable in mode CONST_LEGACY in one case:
function name bindings in sloppy mode. The likely fix there is to add a new
Variable::Kind for this case and handle it appropriately for stores in each
backend, but I leave that for a later patch to make this one completely
subtractive.

This change introduces wide prefix bytecodes to support wide (16-bit)

Operands are now either scalable or fixed size. Scalable operands
increase in width when a bytecode is prefixed with wide or extra-wide.

The bytecode handler table is extended to 256*3 entries. The
first 256 entries are used for bytecodes with 8-bit operands,
the second 256 entries are used for bytecodes with operands that

This patch fixes two bugs in Array.prototype.concat in conjunction with

- Create a new property rather than calling Set when adding elements to

- If there is an exception thrown from DefineProperty, propagate it

108efd7f54 Remove Scope::scope_contains_with_ bit
This part of Scope has existed since V8's initial check in, but from what
I can tell it's not required to implement "with". The only tests that
depend upon it are tests of the debugger and the Scope mirrors, but the
resulting test behavior after removing the bit still seems perfectly
reasonable to me. In fact, with the included fix for scope name collection,
the scope mirror is actually improved with this change.

As a bi-product, this fixes the attached bug, about the contains_with
bit having inconsistent values in some arrow function compilation
scenarios.

3c1dc424d3 [ignition, debugger] correctly set position for return with elided bytecode.
We may not emit bytecode for the evaluation of the to-be-returned
expression. In that case we cannot set two return positions for a return
statement (one before and one after the expression evaluation). This
sets the interpreter apart from full-codegen.

Make sure that we always have the second of the two return positions.

Note that we end up with separate test cases for ignition and FCG.

5a202cce6e Remove --harmony-modules flag and let embedder decide when modules are used
Modules already have a separate entrypoint into the engine (at the moment,
this is v8::ScriptCompiler::CompileModule, though that will change to
something like ParseModule). This meant that requiring a commandline flag
simply added an extra complexity burden on embedders. By removing the v8
flag, this lets embedders use their own flagging mechanism (such as d8's
"--module", or Blink's RuntimeEnabledFeatures) to control whether
modules are to be used.

Also remove old modules tests that were being skipped (since they test
very old, pre-ES2015 modules syntax).

de4f3d3eff Fix expression positions for for-loops.
FullCodegen generates 2 statement positions for the loop init block, like so:

  for(var i = 0; i....
      ^ ^

This change removes the first of those, updates unit tests,
and removes text expectations for Ignition.

---
An alternative would be to emulate the existing behaviour in Ignition, but:
- The new behaviour seems more logical,
- Ignition generates no bytecodes for the 'var', meaning there is no code position to attach the break position to.

855176533c [compiler] Sidestep optimizing of generator resumers.
This ensures our optimizing compilers as well as the interpreter are
never tasked with compiling the generator-resuming builtin methods. The
corresponding intrinsics for those methods are not supported and it is
not possible to provide a C++ reference implementation for them. We do
this by assigning builtin function ids to them that we can recognize
during the compiler dispatch.

Note that this also affects the interpreter, because methods having a
builtin function id assigned are not interpreted ({function_data} field
is overlapping). If this ever changes we can still do an early check in
the compiler dispatch (similar to the optimizing compilers) easily.

This applies to the following methods:
- Generator.prototype.next (calls Runtime_GeneratorNext).
- Generator.prototype.return (calls Runtime_GeneratorReturn).
- Generator.prototype.throw (calls Runtime_GeneratorThrow).

According to https://www.w3.org/TR/html5/obsolete.html#dom-document-all,
comparisons of document.all to other values such as strings or objects,
are unaffected. In fact document.all only gets special treatment in
comparisons with null or undefined according to HTML. Especially setting
the undetectable doesn't make two distinct JSReceivers equal.

9867a8a26e [turbofan] Fix register constraint for memory barrier.
After fixing the memory barrier for maps (https://codereview.chromium.org/1714513003), we are using a temp register for the map case. The temp register should not be aliased with the stored value (otherwise we perform the mem barrier check with a wrong value). This CL makes sure it is not aliased.

78f6f838f0 [Wasm] Convert many of the fixed-size values to LEB128.
This CL modifies the following to be LEB128:
* Function table indices
* Import table signature indices
* Export table function indices
* Function signature param count
* br/br_if break depth
* br_table target count
* block/loop expression count

Still to do:
* Import/export names (LEB128 count + inline data)
* Data segments (LEB128 offset + size + inline data)
* Function header stuff (should seperate into function sig and body sections)
* Memory access alignment + offset (still discussing)

fd40570419 Don't do any special normalization if a boilerplate contains function literals.
This mechanism was used to ensure that functions ended up as constants on the map of prototypes defined using object literals, e.g.,:

function.prototype = {
  method: function() { ... }
}

Nowadays we treat prototypes specially, and make all their functions constants when an object turns prototype. Hence this special custom code isn't necessary anymore.

This also affects boilerplates that do not become prototypes. Their functions will not be constants but fields instead. Calling their methods will slow down. However, multiple instances of the same boilerplate will stay monomorphic. We'll have to see what the impact is for such objects, but preliminary benchmarks do not show this as an important regression.

The initial species protector hooked into property declaration in an
incomplete place, and missed definitions of accessors. This patch repairs
them by calling out to update the protector from an additional location.

01f603d2b2 [Interpreter] Fixes translation from bailout id to code offset.
BailoutId points to the next bytecode in the bytecode array. Code offset
is set to one less than the bail out id. This would point to the end of the
current instruction. Since we use it only for summarizing the frame and to
compute the source position, it should be safe to set it to the end of current
instruction.

2aae579cf0 [turbofan] Further fixing ES6 tail call elimination in Turbofan.
In case when F tail calls G we should also remove the potential arguments adaptor frame for F.

This CL introduces two new machine instructions ArchTailCallCodeObjectFromJSFunction and ArchTailCallJSFunctionFromJSFunction which (unlike existing ArchTailCallCodeObject and ArchTailCallJSFunction) also drop arguments adaptor frame if it exists right before jumping to the target function.
