These should all be forward/backward compatible with Python 2/Python 3.
[tools] Tweak statusfile.py for Python 3
.iteritems() does not exist in Python 3, only .items().
(While .iteritems() was meant to be an optimization over .items()
in Python 2, .items() should work fine, and it is forward/backward
compatible.)
[tools] Fix another Python 3 issue in mb.py
sys.platform used to return e.g. 'linux2', which is 'linux' plus
whatever the first digit of `uname -r` was when Python was built.
As of Python 3.3, it always returns just 'linux' for Linux OSes.
Use `sys.platform.startswith('linux')` for forward/backward
compatibility.
[tools] Make base_runner.py Python 3 compatible
dict.keys() returns a dict_keys in Python 3, whereas it
used to return a simple array. list() is forward/backward
compatible with identical results on Python 2/3 (returns array).
(Tested on Linux x64, trying to recreate NodeJS's CI workflow.)
[tools] Make tools/dev/v8gen.py work with Python 3
dict.keys() returns a dict_keys in Python 3, whereas it
used to return a simple array. list() is forward/backward
compatible with identical results on Python 2/3 (returns array).
Comparing a None-type value numerically used to result in the
None-type value always being considered "less than" the thing
it is compared to. As of Python 3, numerically comparing against
None or None-typed values results in an error. Check if a value
is truthy before numerically comparing it, for forward/backward
compatibility.
print() used to transparently decode byte strings in Python 2.
In Python 3, they must be explicitly decoded first.
(Tested on Linux 64-bit, trying to recreate NodeJS's CI workflow.)

precomputing and caching what we can, we can reduce the amount of

We still have to store the current instance for JS function calls;
that may be eliminatable in the future.

The pointer compression cage is the virtual memory reservation
that all compressed pointers fall within. This CL splits pointer
compression into two modes: a per-Isolate cage and a shared cage
among multiple Isolates.
When multiple Isolates are sharing a cage, they can decompress
each others' pointers and share the same virtual memory range.

This CL adds features to pack/unpack map words.
Currently V8 cannot store extra metadata in object headers -- because V8
objects do not have a proper header, but only a map pointer at the start
of the object. To store per-object metadata like marking data, a side
table is required as the per-object metadata storage.
This CL enables V8 to use higher unused bits in a 64-bit map word as
per-object metadata storage. Map pointer stores come with an extra step
to encode the metadata into the pointer (we call it "map packing").
Map pointer loads will also remove the metadata bits as well (we call it
"map packing").
Since the map word is no longer a valid pointer after packing, we also
change the tag of the packed map word to make it looks like a Smi. This
helps various GC and barrier code to correctly skip them instead of
blindly dereferencing this invalid pointer.
A ninja flag `v8_enable_map_packing` is provided to turn this
map-packing feature on and off. It is disabled by default.
* Only works on x64 platform, with `v8_enable_pointer_compression`
set to `false`

Currently, IsolateRoot is both the address of the Isolate root and the
base address of the pointer compression reservation. This CL teases the
two uses apart by renaming IsolateRoot to PtrComprCageBase.
- In addition to V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS, add a
V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS_IN_ISOLATE_CAGE (vs SHARED_CAGE).
- Rename GetIsolate* helpers to GetPtrComprCageBase. When
V8_COMPRESS_POINTERS_IN_ISOLATE_CAGE is true, the helpers remain as
aliases to GetPtrComprCageBase.
- Rename kPtrComprIsolateRootAlignment to kPtrComprCageBaseAlignment.

Also enable the related simd tests for PPC64.
Qfma opcodes are added to the selector as part of the enablement.

Mostly a port of changes from chromium to support building from
directories other than out/Release or out/Debug.
Also moved tools/ninja/ninja_output.py to tools/vim/ninja_output.py to
be more consistent with chromium's layout.

This patch implements the MegaDOM IC setup and access. A new MegaDOM
IC state indicates that we've seen only DOM accessors at this access
site.
This CL only adds support for DOM getters in LoadIC, other kinds of
access will be added in follow on CLs.
Still remaining TODO before shipping:
1. Have a mechanism to invalidate the protector
2. Have a mechanism to find the accessors that aren't overloaded
3. Use a new builtin to miss to runtime on access check failure

Generic wasm wrappers are enabled by default now (since
https://crrev.com/c/2562241), so we can remove the flag from the
nooptimization variant. Instead, we should have a configuration which
tests --no-wasm-generic-wrapper to find bugs in the compiled wrappers
earlier.
Also add an entry for contradictory flags, and reformat that list to
respect the 80 columns limit.
