Add GetOSMicroVersion and add other micro version references in an
unobtrusive way: don't change wxPlatformInfo's constructor and use
default parameters for CheckOSVersion and SetOSVersion. The only change
that could affect user code is the changed number of parameters for
DoCheckVersion but because that is a protected function it's less likely
to be a problem.
In addition to getting a major and minor OS version allow a micro
version to be retrieved. In case of running on e.g. OS X 10.10.3 this
allows the "3" to be retrieved again.
Previously the editor created by wxDataViewRenderer::CreateEditorCtrl() had to
be a native GTK+ widget implementing GtkCellEditable interface which prevented
using composite windows (e.g. a container for a text control and a button) as
editors.
Create a helper container wrapping them now and implementing GtkCellEditable
now to allow this.
Since the changes of 8034e35391 (see #16870)
accelerators, including the standard ones such as Ctrl-F4 under MSW, didn't
work any longer inside the MDI children.
Fix this by extending IsTopNavigationDomain() to allow for checking whether
the given window should stop propagation of all keyboard events, as wxTLW
does, or only TAB navigation ones as wxMDIChildFrame and wxAuiFloatingFrame
do.
Exporting these classes doesn't seem necessary as they only have inline
functions and doing it results in problems with MSVC as it also, apparently,
exports the corresponding specialization of std::vector<T> from the wxWidgets
DLLs which can clash with the use of std::vector<T> in the user code or even
in 3rd party libraries included in wx itself, such as Scintilla, so this
change fixes link errors in "DLL Debug" build configuration when using MSVC.

Using the library wasn't really possible with all the debug messages it
generated, so either suppress them completely or turn them into trace messages
which can be activated on demand if needed.
This warning was given many times and was very confusing as it wasn't given at
all in the right location, but rather for all the other, subsequent
declarations of wxControlRenderer which were correct -- unlike this one which
used wrong order for the "class" keyword and the attribute.
Add wxGLAttribsBase, wxGLAttributes and wxGLContextAttrs replacing the old
untyped "int attributes[]".
Don't use global object for creating OpenGL > 3.0 contexts.

We reuse the same global dispatcher object (allocated in
wxFDIODispatcher::Get()) for the sockets created in different threads, so it's
perfectly possible for its methods to be called concurrently and this happens
even in our own socket streams unit tests.
Protect against concurrent modification of the select sets and m_maxFD. This
fixes sporadic Travis build failures such as the one at
https://travis-ci.org/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/jobs/110757281 for example and
probably even worse bugs too.
No real changes, just some cleanup to ensure that the item being edited stored
in wxDataViewRendererBase never refers to an item which is not, actually,
being edited any longer.
Reuse the same code from the generic and native GTK and OS X implementations
of wxDataViewCtrl instead of triplicating it.
This fixes a small discrepancy between the wxOSX version, which didn't see the
model pointer correctly in the generated event, and all the others, but mainly
paves way for future improvements.
This will make it possible to reproduce the default "Enter" key functionality
from elsewhere.
Almost no changes yet, the only minor change is that we now wouldn't try to
"click" any windows using DLGC_DEFPUSHBUTTON dialog code but which are not
really buttons -- but then this shouldn't ever happen anyhow.
Override newer and more flexible virtual method: this doesn't change anything
yet but will allow to provide default handling for some messages in a single
overridden method in the future commits, when it would have required to also
override MSWDefWindowProc() with the old method.
This is never going to work, so complain about trying to do it to help with
catching this bug.
This is possible thanks to the new OnDynamicBind() method invoked whenever a
dynamic event handler is bound to a control, so this doesn't detect all
possible occurrences of the bug (such as specifying the handler in a static
event table or in a validator), but it's still better than nothing.
In the future OnDynamicBind() should be extended for other invalid calls, e.g.
binding a handler for wxEVT_TEXT_ENTER to a non-text control shouldn't work
neither, ideally.
These functions were almost but not quite identical to it:
wxSafeConvertMB2WX() tried the current locale encoding before UTF-8 while
wxConvWhateverWorks tries UTF-8 first and then the current locale encoding.
The latter behaviour is more correct as valid UTF-8 could be misinterpreted as
some legacy multibyte encoding otherwise, so get rid of this difference and
just forward these functions to wxConvWhateverWorks.
This ensures that we can create output files with Unicode names even when
they're not representable in the current locale encoding, notably when the
current locale has never been changed and is still the default "C" one, not
supporting anything else other than 7 bit ASCII.
Credits for the new class name go to Woody Allen.
If a class not using "override" for its other, not wx-related, virtual methods
included wxDECLARE_EVENT_TABLE() with wxOVERRIDE inside it, it resulted in a
clang -Winconsistent-missing-override warning per each virtual method without
it which was very annoying.
Avoid it by not using wxOVERRIDE in this macro and explicitly disabling the
-Winconsistent-missing-override for the methods inside it in case the rest of
the class does use "override".
Notice that this also required rearranging the order of the declarations in
this macro to ensure that a semicolon is still required after it.

This symbol is tested using "#if", so it should be always defined and there is
no need for testing whether this is the case.
Moreover, doing this useless check triggers warning C4574 (which is disabled
by default, but it's useful enough to enable it explicitly) with VC14 about
using "#ifdef" with a symbol defined as 0.
1. Override wxWindow::GetContentScaleFactor() to use gdk_window_get_scale_factor()
when available, and to use correct scale (1.0) otherwise, as wxDC::GetPPI()
(used by overridden method) is not properly implemented for wxGTK
2. Record scale in wxBitmap(wxImage&) ctor and wxBitmap::CreateScaled()
3. Adjust cairo scale for drawing bitmap, and (inversely) for drawing on bitmap
It doesn't make sense to use any fallbacks when converting to/from UTF-8 and
this wasn't even done consistently as only wxSafeConvertWX2MB() used
MAP_INVALID_UTF8_TO_OCTAL, but not wxSafeConvertMB2WX().
More importantly, UTF-8 conversion can never fail for a valid Unicode string,
so there is no need for any fall backs.
Not doing this prevented the tooltips from working correctly if the library
was shut down and reinitialized again, so add a module ensuring this is done.

Such strings are not really URIs as they should have been encoded if they were
but we can obtain them from e.g. wxFileSystem::FindFirst(), so handle them
correctly here as it's simpler than checking all the places where Unescape()
is called.
Add a unit test checking that decoding an URI containing both Unicode and
percent-encoded Unicode characters works correctly.
Since Windows 8 there are native toast notifications available via WinRT defined in windows.ui.notifications.h. This adds support for these notifications via wxNotificationMessage. These notifications have to be explicitly enabled via wxNotificationMessage::MSWEnableToasts() because they require a start menu shortcut to the application.
Some Windows8+ APIs are only accessible via WinRT which is based on COM. However there are a few dependencies to get to the interfaces via functions defined in roapi.h. Using RoInitialize, RoUninitialize, etc. directly from it's windows headers adds dependencies to the WinRT dlls leaving the resulting exe unable to launch on earlier Windows versions. The wxWinRT functions wrap this with dynamic loading. Additionally wxWinRT::TempStringRef adds a convenient wrapper to HSTRING which is used extensively in WinRT APIs.
wxNotificationMessage has been refactored to always use wxNotificationMessageImpl (this was previously already done in the MSW implementation)
This adds various features and fixes to wxNotificationMessage:
- OS X Notification Center implementation
- Generic "toast" notifications
- SetIcon() to specify a custom icon
- AddAction() to add actions to notifications
- Events to get notify of notification clicks, dismiss or actions
Due to recent changes in utils, stdpath and the removal of carbon, building on
OS X was broken by various compiler errors and linker issues.

No real changes, just remove the nonsensical comment from wx/defs.h which
completely lost its meaning since wxWindowID typedef was replaced by a class 8
years ago in cf2810aa39.
In practice, almost everybody using validators also seems to use this style,
so make it the default (this hadn't been done when it was originally
introduced because of compatibility concerns, but now, 15+ years later, it's
probably safe enough to change this).
Add a helper wxLaunchBrowserParams struct with clearly distinct "url" and
"path" fields and GetPathOrURL() accessor which returns whichever is
appropriate.
This makes the code more clear and ensures that we never pass URLs (but only
file paths) to xdg-open under Unix as it doesn't handle them.

Ensure GTKEnableEvents() is called automatically on scope exit whenever
GTKDisableEvents() is called.
This fixes a couple of potential bugs where GTKEnableEvents() could be not
called if wxCHECK() condition failed and makes the code shorter and safer.
This is documented as being required in the MSDN and, in practice, is
necessary for Windows to update the icon cache and show the new icon.

Leave ownership of the native window to the user code as it may want to reuse
it for some other purpose and provide an explicit Disown() function that can
be called if the user really wants wxWidgets to take ownership of the native
window.
In particular, this avoids problems when using ARC under OS X which resulted
in a double "release" before.
Cocoa has been the default toolkit in wxWidgets for a long time. There is really no good reason to use Carbon in 2016 and this removes a lot of unused and unmaintained code.
This was broken by the refactoring during the addition of OS X implementation
of wxAppProgressIndicator in 11a5b83e2c, restore
this functionality by explicitly calling the code initializing the progress
indicator in wxGaugeBase from wxMSW implementation.

The state represented by TCHT_ONITEM Win API flag is not a superposition
TCHT_ONITEMICON and TCHT_ONITLABEL states but it represents a separate state.
The fact that binary value of TCHT_ONITEM is bitwise-OR operation on
TCHT_ONITEMICON and TCHT_ONITEMLABEL doesn't matter here. The same applies to
wxBK_HITTEST_xxx flags where state represented by wxBK_HITTEST_ONITEM is not a
superposition of wxBK_HITTEST_ONICON and wxBK_HITTEST_ONLABEL.
Add note to wxBookCtrl::HitTest documentation that wxBK_HITTEST_ONICON,
wxBK_HITTEST_ONLABEL, wxBK_HITTEST_ONITEM are mutually exclusive bits.

Add wxImage::SetLoadFlags() and static SetDefaultLoadFlags() to allow
suppressing the warning messages that can be logged when loading some files,
notably PNG ones with invalid sRGB profiles which, unfortunately, seem to be
rather common and result in annoying warnings about them with libpng 1.6+.

The argument to this method should basically just never be used, so while we
still keep it for compatibility (because it doesn't cost anything to do it),
make it clear that it should never be specified in the new code and, also,
that this function is actually only used inside wxWidgets and shouldn't be
normally called from outside of the library at all.
This reverts commit 62763ad541 which seems to
have been completely unnecessary as the fields had been already initialized
and this commit actually broke initialization of the propagation level of the
copied wxCommandEvent objects.
Add a unit test proving that things do work.

Since the changes to use IRichEditOleCallback in wxMSW wxTextCtrl (i.e.
bd650ec3d9 in master), wxEVT_CONTEXT_MENU was
not sent for it any more as the control consumed it after using the callback.
Send the event manually before the default handling takes place to fix this.
At least when using standard fonts under MSW, the underlines under the
consecutive words didn't overlap, resulting in ugly gaps between them when
using more than one word as the link text, for example.
Work around this by drawing an extra, slightly offset, underlined space when
the previous cell was drawn underlined.
This is not completely true, but the changes in the versions 9 and 10 of g++
ABI don't (seem to?) affect wxWidgets, so allow using later versions of the
compiler for building the code using the libraries created using earlier ones.
wxDIB::ConvertToImage called with Convert_AlphaAuto converts wxDIB to wxImage with automatic checking if 32 bpp DIB contains real alpha values (legacy way).
When it is called with Convert_AlphaAlwaysIf32bpp then automatic checking is disabled and 32 bpp DIB is unconditionally converted to ARGB wxImage.
This allows a bitmap to scale with the size of the wxStaticBitmap control.
Scaling can be controlled to fill the control with or without changing the
bitmaps aspect ratio.
These constants were defined in the middle of the wxKeyCode enum, value-wise,
which made it difficult to end new elements to the enum as they could clash
with the existing ones if they were simply added at the end.
Include wx/defs.h to get wxUSE_DIRDLG value from it, otherwise it could be
undefined, and hence evaluate to 0 (unfortunately without even a warning with
some compilers), if this header was the first wx header to be included.
This symbol can now be predefined to avoid conflicts with mode_t definition in
wx/filefn.h when wxWidgets is used in applications also using another library
which also defines mode_t.

This symbol was wrongly added to include/wx/msw/setup0.h directly in
075ef6551e, so it didn't work when
cross-compiling from Unix (which doesn't use this file) and would have been
lost after any future modification of include/wx/setup_inc.h where it should
have been added in the first place.
Do this now and also make the check for this symbol in wx/progdlg.h a bit more
readable.
Don't use __STRICT_ANSI__ to determine whether a function is available or not
as its value can be different when building the library and the application,
resulting in mysterious link errors.
Instead use the same approach as in aa30a2f97ade6fe019f2f288917296b009bf4221
and just declare the functions that are available but just not declared in
strict ANSI mode manually.

If padding value (stored in m_toolPacking) has been assigned prior to creating the toolbar (with SetToolPacking) then apply this padding to just created toolbar.
Otherwise initialize this variable with current padding retrieved from the toolbar to let GetToolPacking return proper padding value.
Implemented new method MSWSetPadding() to set padding for native toolbar.
Allow automatically converting lower-case letters entered into wxTextCtrl to
upper-case equivalents. Provide generic fallback and implement the method
natively for all the major platforms.
Also update the text sample to show it in action.
Calling Unbind() on another handler from the currently executing handler which
had been bound after (and hence executed before) the handler being unbound
resulted in a crash previously as the iterators used in the loop over all
dynamic event handlers became invalid.
Fix this by storing the dynamic event table entries in a vector instead of a
list (which is also more memory and speed efficient anyhow) and null the
deleted entries instead of removing them to avoid invalidating the iterators
and only really remove them once we finish iterating.

This method was confusing and dangerous as it didn't actually initialize the
wxColour object because it didn't set its m_cgColour and so attempting to use
wxColour "initialized" using this method resulted in a crash whenever its
GetPixel(), GetCGColor() or CreateCGColor() methods were called.
Just merge this function with InitCGColorRef() which is the only remaining
place where it's used after rewriting wxColour(NSColor) ctor.
wxColour ctor from NSColor added in b478f24288
didn't work correctly as it didn't initialize wxColour::m_cgColour and so any
attempts to use the colour created by it resulted in an immediate crash (so
the code added in 16671f229a likely didn't work
neither).
It also assumed that the NSColor given to it was always in the RGBA colorspace
and crashed if it wasn't (so 56ebe6dfac fixed
compilation at the price of making the code crash at run-time). Now explicitly
request the RGBA colorspace and leave the colour uninitialized, which is
better than crashing, if it can't be obtained.
After making this ctor safe to use, there is no reason to reproduce its logic
in wxColourDialog and wxFontDialog, so just use it from there.
Also make the ctor explicit as it's a non-trivial operation which shouldn't be
performed implicitly and document that it doesn't take ownership of NSColor,
unlike the similar ctor from CGColorRef.
Fix several problems with surrogates in UTF-16-encoded wchar_t strings:
correct bugs in UTF-8 and UTF-32 conversion code and add surrogates support to
wxText{Input,Output}Stream classes.
Closes#17070.
On the platforms using UTF-16 for wchar_t we can't read nor write Unicode data
one wchar_t at a time as a single half of a surrogate character can't be
converted to or from the encoding of the stream.
To fix this, we may need to store the last wchar_t already read from the
stream but not returned yet in wxTextInputStream::NextChar() and store,
without writing it, the wchar_t passed to wxTextOutputStream::PutChar() until
the second half of the surrogate is written.

Since 361c6357b4 wxDataViewRenderer's
SetAttr and SetEnabled became pure virtual class methods which aren't
implemented for wxOSX/Carbon. Fix by defining the same empty stubs for
these methods as were previously present in the base class.
The added macros wxCLANG_WARNING_{SUPPRESS,RESTORE} are similar to
wxGCC_WARNING_{SUPPRESS,RESTORE}, but the `wxCLANG_' version will expand to
compiler pragmas only when the warning name is known to the compiler.
They use clang's __has_warning feature.
Added opacity slider and custom colours (with alpha) previews (implemented with wxStaticBitmap controls). This feature is controlled by wxColourData::GetChooseAlpha().
Variable to hold the size of the custom colour box doesn't need to be a member variable since it's used only locally in wxGenericColourDialog::CalculateMeasurements.
wx/control.h is already included from wx/slider.h so including it from here is
useless and including wx/slider.h is even worse as it's very confusing because
this header itself is already included from wx/slider.h.
No real changes.
Derive wxStaticBox from wxStaticBoxBase for consistency with the other ports
and to make it derive from wxNavigationEnabled<>, which is necessary for TAB
navigation to work.

The bug that resulted in creating huge DLLs that took inordinate amounts of
memory and time to link with g++ 4.5 has been fixed in 4.7, so don't export
everything when using it, as this results in even smaller DLLs.
The situation with 4.6 is unknown, so leave behaviour with it unchanged.

::TlsGetValue() resets the last error code which means that the previous last
error is lost, but it shouldn't as we might be in the middle of logging it
with wxLogSysError(). So preserve the last error explicitly.

The user code may handle this event, meaning that its handler in wxNotebook
itself is never invoked, but this broke actually changing the pages.
Fix this by doing the page change in the code handling the underlying OS X
event directly.

wxSizer already has m_minSize field, use m_calculatedMinSize for the field of
the derived wxBoxSizer class to avoid confusion, just as wxFlexGridSizer
already did.
Also add a new unit test checking that GetMinSize() still works after this
change.
Even after 5aae7c7387 and
d2c1fce24e clang would still emit the
warning in code using templates via
WX_DECLARE_ANY_VALUE_TYPE(wxAnyValueTypeImpl<T>).
Silence the warning by putting the typeid() expressions into a trivial
helper function with two wxAnyValueType reference arguments, so the
class the macro is used in doesn't come into play (it shouldn't in the
previous version of the code either, but clang apparently thought it
did).
Hopefully really closes#16968.
Forward declare struct _GUID to allow referencing it in this header without
including the full <windows.h> or even <guiddef.h>.

Keyboard focus rect when selecting a column was nearly invisible against the
light background. Now the correct theme parts are used when drawing with UX
theme and the old behavior (white focus rect) is used everywhere else.

Previously wxStandardPathsCF was used for all Mac builds and it used
FSFindFolder() (CoreFoundation) calls in Carbon builds, but many hard coded
values in Cocoa builds. The Cocoa implementation uses NSFileManager and
NSBundle to retrieve the folder locations from the system.

All major supported platforms have well defined per-user directories to store
Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos and the Desktop files. The new method
wxStandardPaths::GetUserDir() allows for a unified way to access these on MSW,

This wxAuiTabArt implementation uses Windows uxtheme API to draw AUI tabs. A
fallback to generic tab art is implemented for the bottom tabs or if uxtheme

Creating minidumps works in 64 bit builds since quite some time (see
603c73dbba), so there is no reason to forcefully
disable it any more.

It looks like the preprocessor checks were meant to avoid including this file
under MacOS 9 and all the other platforms should have it, so it should be safe
to include (although it still doesn't define off_t with MSVC, only _off_t).
Don't leave the variable uninitialized to avoid warnings from static code
analyzer and to ensure that it is never used before being initialized (while
this does seem to be the case already, it's not exactly obvious).
Windows CE doesn't seem to be supported by Microsoft any longer. Last CE
release was in early 2013 and the PocketPC and Smartphone targets supported by
wxWidgets are long gone.
The build files where already removed in an earlier cleanup this commit
removes all files, every #ifdef and all documentation regarding the Windows CE
support.

The generic implementation requires wxComboCtrl, so pull it in if
wxDatePickerCtrl is enabled.
Explicitly testing for the platform here is ugly, as it duplicates the checks
in wx/datectrl.h and will get out of date when/if they're changed there, but
there just doesn't seem to be any other way.

Remove the private and undocumented control and it's usage in wxGenericCollapsiblePane. The class used a low resolution bitmap which looks bad on high resolution displays. The generic implementation using wxRendererNative::DrawCollapseButton() is better fit even on OS X.
This simple class has a collapsed state which is indicated by a small button and a label. It is now used in the generic implementation of wxCollapsiblePane.
It could be used in more complex layouts than wxCollapsiblePane and is therefore available and documented to the user.
While wxWidgets itself is compiled with -fno-strict-aliasing, the user code
including wx headers can be compiled without it and, worse, even with
-Wstrict-aliasing=2 which would give tons of warnings (two for each
instantiation of the template class) of possibly breaking strict aliasing rule.
Fix this by using a union to cast between two pointers of different types
instead of using a reinterpret cast.
Add a new method that should be used for controls like wxCollapsiblePane.
It is implemented natively for wxMSW (Windows Vista+) and provides a generic fallback for other ports and WinXP.
wxSystemThemedControl allows to use the "system theme" (i.e. the theme used by
the system applications such as file manager and which can, surprisingly, be
different from the default one). Currently it is only implemented for wxMSW
and does nothing under the other platforms.
Use wxSystemThemedControl for wxDataViewCtrl, wxListCtrl and, optionally, if
wxTR_TWIST_BUTTONS style is specified, wxTreeCtrl to give them more native
appearance under MSW.

Add a new method that should be used for drawing the elements of list-like
controls (i.e. wx{List,Tree,DataView}Ctrl and similar).
Implement it for wxMSW natively and provide a straightforward generic fallback
for the other ports.

Sibling windows (like labels and radio buttons) need to be explicitly
refreshed when foreground or background colour is changed. This is implemented
by invoking newly implemented method wxSubwindows::Refresh every time the
colour of the control is changed.
Note: Setting foreground colour of wxRadioBox still doesn't work correctly
when themes are enabled.

Mimics the scrolling behaviour of native MSW and GTK calendars by allowing to
increment/decrement the month by scrolling anywhere on the generic calendar.

On OS X (tested on 10.10.5) calls to window.open() with a different target
than _self were simply ignored. No navigation and no EVT_WEBVIEW_NEWWINDOW as
expected.
Unfortunately WebKit does not call the decidePolicyForNewWindowAction delegate
method in these cases. A new delegate method createWebViewWithRequest has been
implemented to handle this case and send EVT_WEBVIEW_NEWWINDOW as in other
ports.

wxOSX and wxGTK previously used their own methods for handling the enabled
state and the attributes of the items being rendered, change them to reuse the
same methods as the generic implementation, i.e. SetEnabled() and SetAttr()
and remove the port-specific GtkSetAttr(), OSXApplyAttr() and so on.
This has the advantage of ensuring that the logic is the same for all
platforms (e.g. item enabled status wasn't handled in the same way in wxGTK as
in the other ports previously) and hopefully makes the code simpler by cutting
down on the number of virtual methods.
Notice that GtkSupportsAttrs() optimization was removed as it didn't seem to
be worth the bother (we basically saved a call to a virtual model method at a
price of a virtual renderer method call) and preserving it would have
complicated things needlessly.
Because on some ports native renderers require a valid reference to the windows be drawn then it is necessary to implement and use new wxPGCellRenderer::DrawCaptionSelectionRect method which passes this additional argument.
Move the checks for the type mismatch between the type of the value returned
by wxDataViewModel and the type expected by wxDataViewRenderer into common
code. This avoids duplicating the same code in wxGTK and wxOSX and, more
importantly, means that this check is also performed in wxMSW when using the
generic version, so that the problems such as the one fixed in 3ff8c3c ("add
missing wxDataViewDateRenderer::GetDefaultType()") would be visible there too.
SetPropertyTextColour, SetPropertyBackgroundColour methods are able to set colours recursively for sub-properties but SetPropertyColoursToDefault method is not.
For the sake of consistency, SetPropertyColoursToDefault method is extended to have the same capabilities as SetPropertyTextColour and SetPropertyBackgroundColour. Behaviour and signature in default case (no recursion) is preserved.
For internal purposes there were also implemented helper methods in wxPGProperty class: SetDefaultColours, ClearCells.
Zip archives with sizes larger 4GB or containing files larger than 4GB or more
than 65k files are saved in ZIP64 format which adds a few additional footers
and extra fields to allow to exceed these limits.

"Edit" icon definition used internally in wxEditableListBox is moved to
wxDefaultArtProvider and exposed as wxART_EDIT.
While there is no native version of this icon yet, it could be added in the
future and in the meanwhile this commit will be useful to use only standard
bitmaps in wxEditableListBox.
Move duplicated code responsible for rescaling bitmaps in wxArtProvider to the
shared wxArtPrvider::RescaleBitmap() method.
Additionally, make this new method work even in wxUSE_IMAGE==0 case.

Windows implements VerifyVersionInfo api since Win2k. Starting with Windows 8.1 GetVersionEx is deprecated and may not return the expected version number if the application does not contain the correct compatibility information in its manifest. VerifyVersionInfo works independent of manifest in the executable (and is the recommend way to check).
Existing code may already use wxPlatformInfo::CheckOSVersion() so the method forwards the call to wxCheckOsVersion if initialized for the current system.
Remove UMAGetSystemVersion() function calling which produced the following
warning on the console for every call:
WARNING: The Gestalt selector gestaltSystemVersion is returning 10.9.4 instead
of 10.10.4. Use NSProcessInfo's operatingSystemVersion property to get correct
system version number.*
Replace UMAGetSystemVersion with wxPlatformInfo::CheckOSVersion() which
internally uses wxGetOSVersion, which uses Gestalt calls not resulting in this
runtime warning.

Use wide-char versions of debug help functions if available, falling back to
the narrow char ones otherwise.
Also improve 64 bit support by using 64 bit versions of the functions if
available as well.

Don't let unhandled Win32 (i.e. structured) exceptions escape from wxWndProc()
as they can just disappear into thin air when running under WOW64 as 32 bit
exceptions can't propagate through 64 bit kernel. So catch them immediately
and pass them to the global handler while we have the chance to do it, as
we're never going to get it in the outer __try/__catch block in wxEntry() in
src/msw/main.cpp.
In particular, this allows to catch crashes in wxEVT_PAINT handlers, such as
the one in debughlp sample, again.

This method doesn't really have to be virtual and this change will allow to
backport the commit adding wxIconizeEvent generation to 3.0 branch.

wxPG_NULL_BITMAP macro is not useful because is used only once. In the rest of wxPG code wxNullBitmap is used explicitly many times so for the sake of consistency we can resign from using this macro.
If the old value didn't lie inside the new range, it was changed by the native
control internally but the value stored by wxDatePickerCtrl itself remained
unchanged, resulting in asserts later when the mismatch between them was
detected.

The fix to the length allocated for the buffer (which was off by 1) in
wx2stc() in 9f81ac16f0 exposed another bug,
which used to compensate for that one, in wx2stclen(), so fix it too.

Events are not needed for this kind of sockets, using wxSOCKET_BLOCK is
supposed to ensure that calling socket IO operations blocks until the bytes
are read/written without dispatching any events.

Call wxPropertyGridpageState::DoSelectProperty with explicitly set flags instead of casting from bool to unisgned int. It cannot be guaranteed that 0/1 values of this implicit conversion will be mapped to the proper flags also int the future.
Implement Freeze() by blocking the GtkWindow "expose-event"/"draw" signal
instead. Since the introduction of client-side windows in GTK+ 2.18,
gdk_window_freeze_updates() is unuseable because the impl_window (and thus the
update_freeze_count) for a given GdkWindow can change unpredictably. See #16795
Its value (0x80000000) is outside of the int type range on 32 bit platforms,
but we still want to allow using it as an initializer of int and/or long
variables for consistency with the other types, so cast it to int explicitly
to suppress -Wnarrowing warnings from recent g++ which were given when doing
this before.
Allow a library and an application to differ in __GXX_ABI_VERSION
within the range 1002-1008. The ABI changes made in this range
do not affect wxWidgets.
Declare _hypot() function globally, predefining __NO_INLINE__ in wx/math.h is
not enough as <math.h> is also included from some other standard headers, e.g.
<algorithm>, and including them results in the same bug as in wx/math.h
(i.e. https://sourceforge.net/p/mingw/bugs/2250/).
Including standard math.h header with both -O2 and -std=c++NN options results
in compilation error due to a bug in the header, see MinGW bug report at
https://sourceforge.net/p/mingw/bugs/2250/
Work around this to allow the library to compile in release build with
-std=c++11. This is ugly but better than failing to compile at all.
These options enable "strict ANSI" mode in MinGW which omits declarations of
POSIX functions from the standard headers. To allow the library and, possibly
even more importantly, the user code including our headers, to compile with
these options, declare the functions that we need ourselves.
This might appear to go against the spirit of "strict ANSI" mode, but the only
alternative would be to not use such functions at all and silently cripple the
library when -std=c++NN is used, compared to -std=g++NN case, and this doesn't
seem appealing neither.

Currently, customizing some dialogs for small screen environment is done statically on the build stage by setting wxPG_SMALL_SCREEN to 1 (what is done for WXWINCE only).
Instead, we can do this for all platforms in a dynamic manner, based on the classification provided by wxSystemSettings::GetScreenType() function.
In order to do so there is introduced a static helper function wxPropertyGrid::IsSmallScreen() which is used to select right parameters (size, position) for several dialogs in order to display them correctly on the small screen.
Apparently in some versions of the compiler even simply dereferencing a
pointer inside typeid() still provokes -Wpotentially-evaluated-expression.
Avoid this by dereferencing it outside and only using typeid() with
references.

This simplifies the code and fixes the bug with GetItemCount() returning wrong
(old) value in wxEVT_LIST_INSERT_ITEM event handler as m_count wasn't updated
by then yet.

This deprecated method was never actually defined, so could never be used. The
fact that nobody complained about it would seem to be an indication that it is
not used anywhere, so just remove it.

Parsing a format specifier with an asterisk (e.g. "%.*s") for the 64th
argument of wxPrintf() resulted in a buffer overrun as the check for the
maximal number of arguments didn't break out from the right loop.
Fix this by inserting an extra check for this.
Thanks Coverity for finding this one.
This constant wasn't very useful as it contained the description of the OS on
the machine where the library was built, not the one on which the application
using it was running. It also wasn't used anywhere in wxWidgets and apparently
wasn't meant to be used outside of it.
Finally, putting the output of `uname -r` into it created problems with
creating reproducible builds as just a change in the kernel version changed
the build results.

By default, to prevent wxPG from stealing focus from other controls, focus is moved to the grid only if it was already in one of its child controls.
When newly introduced wxPG_EX_ALWAYS_ALLOW_FOCUS flag is set then wxPG can take focus on the entire grid area (on canvas) even if focus is moved from another control.
Default wxPG behavior remains unchanged because wxPG_EX_ALWAYS_ALLOW_FOCUS flag must be explicitly set with wxPropertyGrid::SetExtraStyle function.

This ensures that a dangling pointer can't be dereferenced later and fixes a
fatal bug if wxCmdLineArgsArray::operator=() was called more than once (which
is however not supposed to normally happen).
Instead of using pass-trough getter just to check the bits of internal field there are implemented dedicated HasFlag() and HasFlagsExact() methods to do so.
There is no need for this, these methods are not supposed to be overridden as
they are only ever called by wxToolBar itself and making them virtual just
confused things.

This can result in a crash if the measuring code is called, possibly
indirectly, from a method of a cell object itself and if that cell is
displaced from the cache while caching the cell created in OnMeasureItem().

Move wxAnyButton::GetNormalState(), which allows wxToggleButton to override
what "normal" means for it, down to the platform-independent wxAnyButtonBase
class and use it now in wxGTK as well to correctly choose the pressed bitmap
for a toggle button in this state.

state for which the bitmap is currently shown, not necessarily the current

Use a helper hash map to allow efficiently finding message catalogs by name
instead of using linear search in a linked list which can be noticeably slow
when many catalogs are used.
This speeds up wxGetTranslation() when the domain is specified.

Interpret internal compiler version value 1900 as VC14. Notice that this
required adjusting the computation of the internal version from the
user-visible one because VC13 was skipped (hopefully no black cats crossed
paths with the manager responsible for this decision).

Scale the (still hard-coded) border in pixels by the content scale factor for
the platforms where this needs to be done, i.e. not wxGTK nor wxOSX where the
underlying toolkit already does it.
Allow calling this method with either wxSize, wxPoint or just an int.
Also provide a static overload allowing to use it even when no appropriate
wxWindow is available.
Factor out this code to a reusable ParseValueInPixels() function instead of
repeating it in GetSize() and GetDimension() (and using a hack to reuse it
from GetPosition()).
No real changes, just made some error messages more precise.
The shadow width was only used by wxMotif and bezel face not used at all since
a very, very long time, so just remove these methods from the ports which still
had them (just doing nothing) and remove support of the corresponding XRC
attributes.
A '-' keypress doesn't collapse a tree item with the native MSW tree
control. Instead, when not using the generic tree control, simulate a
keypress of WXK_LEFT to collapse the root item . This fixes the assert
checking if the root item is collapsed after the keypress.
Regression since 9d7a7ec556 (which
mistakenly may have had treectrltest.cpp as part of its commit).
This allows to give the exact line number of the error, unlike asserts that
happen in wxSizer code which don't point exactly to the error location when
sizers are created via XRC.
It also has the advantage of allowing to detect wrong use of wxALIGN_LEFT and
wxALIGN_TOP, unlike the asserts which can't do it because the value of both of
these flags is 0.
Detect using flags corresponding to the major sizer direction (which doesn't
make sense as only the proportion governs the behaviour in this direction) and
also combinations of alignment flags with wxEXPAND.

Remove the lines containing svn keywords except when it concerns
third-party files. In that case keep the line as-is or collapse it to the
keyword if it had been expanded to contain wx commit information (only

This fixes wxComboCtrl compilation with wxUSE_LONGLONG==0 as wxMilliClock_t is
always mapped to the proper base type and hence can be used even if wxLongLong
type is not defined.

Instead of using individual string literals use globally defined constants representing wxPG variant types (wxLongLong, wxULongLong, wxArrayInt, etc.).
Since there is a dedicated function to check the type of variant then there is not necessary to call wxVariant::GetType() function and perform explicit comparisons of returned strings.
Don't give errors in the default configuration for MinGW makefile builds in
which wxUSE_GRAPHICS_CONTEXT is disabled, but wxUSE_ACTIVITYINDICATOR is
enabled.
Instead, disable wxUSE_ACTIVITYINDICATOR implicitly for them, this is not
ideal but better than broken build.
