e80faf3db6 QTimer: don't circumvent <chrono> safety net
By templating on the <chrono> types and unconditionally using
duration_cast to coerce the duration into a milliseconds, we
violate a principal design rule of <chrono>, namely that non-
narrowing conversions are implicit, but narrowing conversions
need duration_cast. By accepting any duration, we allow non-
sensical code such as

   QTimer::singleShot(10us, ...)

to compile, which is misleading, since it's actually a zero-
timeout timer.

Overloading a non-template with a template also has adverse
effects: it breaks qOverload().

Fix by replacing the function templates with functions that
just take std::chrono::milliseconds. This way, benign code
such as

    QTimer::singleShot(10s, ...)
    QTimer::singleShot(10min, ...)
    QTimer::singleShot(1h, ...)

work as expected, but attempts to use sub-millisecond
resolution fails to compile / needs an explicit user-
provided duration_cast.

To allow future extension to more precise timers, forcibly
inline the functions, so they don't partake in the ABI of the
class and we can later support sub-millisecond resolution by
simply taking micro- or nano- instead of milliseconds.

4cb614c7ab Apple OS: Handle QSetting strings with embedded zero-bytes
Saving strings with embedded zero-bytes (\0) as CFStrings would
sometimes fail, and only write the part of the string leading
up to the first zero-byte, instead of all the way to the final
zero-terminator. This bug was revealed by the code-path that
falls back to storing e.g. QTime as strings, via the helper
method QSettingsPrivate::variantToString().

We now use the same approach as on platforms such as Windows
and WinRT, where the string produced by variantToString() is
checked for null-bytes, and if so, stored using a binary
representation instead of as a string. For our case that
means we fall back to CFData when detecting the null-byte.

To separate strings from regular byte arrays, new logic has
been added to variantToString() that wraps the null-byte
strings in @String(). That way we can implement a fast-path
when converting back from CFData, that doesn't go via the
slow and lossy conversion via UTF8, and the resulting QVariant
will be of type QVariant::ByteArray. The reason for using
UTF-8 as the binary representation of the string is that
in the case of storing a QByteArray("@foo") we need to
still be able to convert it back to the same byte array,
which doesn't work if the on-disk format is UTF-16.

fd7e00aff5 Don't truncate QDateTime milliseconds when storing QSettings on Apple platforms
The fix is trivial, but the patch adds a new QSettings tests that iterates most
of the QMetaTypes and verifies that storing and retrieving them again gives the
same value. This is a more complete test than the testVariantTypes tests, which
is limited to a subset of the QVariant types. The new tests borrows logic from
the QMetaType test machinery.

QSettings has been Q_ENUM'ified in the process, for improved debug output.

Note that on backends such as the INI backend, the metatype of the QVariant read
from the settings will be a string, so it won't match the input QVariant type,
but the result of converting that to the original value type should still work.

d58d7a5376 Add QStringList::join(QLatin1String) overload
Costs only ~300B in text size in QtCore, which is roughly compensated by
savings in other QtBase libraries, even without specifically porting
users to QL1S.

Of course, the raison d'être for this overload is avoiding the expensive
QLatin1String -> QString conversion which, for small lists, can take up
to 50% of the total runtime (assuming memory allocations dominate over
scanning and copying the list).

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QStringList] Added join(QLatin1String) overload.

6b3845320a QLocale: Add option to pad numbers with trailing zeroes
EcmaScript mandates that number-to-string functions pad the resulting
strings with zeroes, up to the requested precision. QLocale actually
supports this, under the disguise of the "Alternate" flag, used by
QString::asprintf().

We split this flag into the three options it actually represents and
make IncludeTrailingZeroesAfterDot available as a NumberOption. This
allows us to generate numbers in an EcmaScript compliant way.

In addition, a symmetrical option to reject trailing zeroes when
parsing strings to numbers is added.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QLocale] Additional flags in QLocale::NumberOption
allow generating strings from doubles in accordance to EcmaScript's
Number.toPrecision(n).

a54d44298f QLatin1String: Fix UB (nullptr passed) in relational operators
Found by UBSan:

  qstring.h:1160:44: runtime error: null pointer passed as argument 2, which is declared to never be null

Fix by avoiding the memcmp() calls if there's a chance that they
might be called with nullptr.

While at it, also implement !=, >, <=, >= in terms of ==, <,
and add a test, because this particular UB was not fingered by
any of the QtCore test cases, but by a Qt3D one.

42f974f56b Add QArrayData::reallocateUnaligned for QString and QByteArray
This function reallocates a QArrayData block with realloc() but, as
the name says, it's only valid for types that do not increase the
alignment requirements. I don't think it's worth doing this for types
that do increase the alignment requirements, since we don't know the
alignment of the pointer returned by realloc(). If the new pointer
modulo the alignment is different from the old pointer modulo the
alignment, we'd have to memmove data around, which would be quite
inefficient (realloc might have memcpy'ed already and this memmove
would copy data to nearby).

This function is intended to be used especially in QString and
QByteArray, which were already using realloc() on pointers created by
QArrayData::allocate.

  * don't use a QMap to sort a vector of QXmlStream{Attribute,NotationDeclaration},
    constructing a QString key from the QStringRef name(). Use std::sort with a
    lambda. Since this code is used in two places, and we don't yet require poly-

009f1f2812 QString: fix regression comparing null QString with null const char *
Commit 4a40c717f3 optimized
QString::compare_helper(QChar*, int, char*, int), but got
the case wrong where the rhs is null, but the lhs is empty,
not null (which is the case even with a null QString, as
QString().constData() != nullptr). The correct result in
this case is 0, since in Qt empty and null strings compare
equal.

Fix by checking the length of lhs, not its pointer.

9c8a8e90a6 QString: fix append(const QStringRef &str)
Use QStringRef::isNull instead of QStringRef::string()
for validation. Non-NULL str.string() may yet leave us
with a useless str.unicode(), which is the actual problem here;
whereas !str.isNull() does really confirm that str.unicode()
is sensible.

Such test prevents situation like:

const QString a;
QString b;
b.append(a); // b.isNull() == true
b.append(QStringRef(&a)); // b.isNull() == false

Auto test updated: create QStringRef from QString directly, without

c0637c0298 QObject::connect: allow to disable narrowing of the connection arguments
One of the good features of the new connection style is that
implicit conversion is performed for the connection arguments.

However, this is also a bad feature when it comes to the old
C remnants in the C++ language: for instance, doubles implicitly
convert to ints, possibly losing precision (and GCC/Clang do not
even warn about those under -Wall, only MSVC does) or even
triggering undefined behavior.

For this reason, when using braced initialization, C++11
disables narrowing conversions or floating/integral conversions.
Use this feature when checking the arguments of a PMF-style
signal/slot connection. Technically this makes the program
ill-formed, however GCC still accepts it (but at least
warns under -Wall).

Hence, add a way to disable these implicit conversions.
This is a opt-in and guarded by a macro, as it's a source
incompatible change.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QObject] The
QT_NO_NARROWING_CONVERSIONS_IN_CONNECT macro has been added.
When using the new connection syntax (PMF-based) this macro
makes it illegal to narrow the arguments carried by the signal,
and/or to perform floating point to integral implicit
conversions on them. When the macro is defined,
depending on your compiler a QObject::connect() statement
triggering such conversions will now fail to compile.

49c8923282 QSortFilterProxyModel: Don't forward the hint from source's layoutChanged signal
We can't forward a VerticalSortHint or HorizontalSortHint hint, because we might
be filtering extra items.

The documentation of QAbstractItemModel::LayoutChangeHint states:

    Note that VerticalSortHint and HorizontalSortHint carry the meaning that
    items are being moved within the same parent, not moved to a different
    parent in the model, and not filtered out or in.

And some of the views rely on this assumption (QQmlDelegateModel for example)

What happens in the test is the following:
- 'model' emit the dataChanged signal when its data is changed.
- 'proxi1' QSortFilterProxyModelPrivate::_q_sourceDataChanged does not forward
  the dataChanged signal imediatly, it will instead first re-sort the model and
  call layoutAboutToBeChanged / layouChanged with the VerticalSortHint
- 'proxy2' would forward the layoutAboutToBeChanged with the hint, but in
  QSortFilterProxyModelPrivate::_q_sourceLayoutChanged, it will redo the mapping
  which will cause the changed data to be filtered.
So proxy2 can't forward the VerticalSortHint as it removed rows in the process.

For platforms not providing mkdtemp(), QTemporaryDir relied on an implementation

This caused failures on Windows (which uses "System"/Latin1 encoding)

altogether and also enables the use of larger character spaces for the
pattern.

c2f4705f23 Add qHash(QHash) and qHash(QMultiHash)
The hash function is carefully designed to give the same result
as the straight-forward implementation of qHash(unordered_map),
which we'll probably add at some point, namely: std::accumulate
over a container of std::pair.

This is one reason to use std:: and not QPair in the implemen-
tation of qHash(QHash). The other is that qHash(QPair) uses a
bad hash combiner, which may xor out the 'seed' from the result.

We can't fix that until Qt 6, but the qHash(std::pair) overload
uses the well-known boost::hash_combine algorithm (implemented
in Qt as QtPrivate::QHashCombine), so we can use that.

I also trust std::pair to work without problems with reference
template arguments, while QPair only very recently gained a very
basic auto-test for reference parameters.

[ChangeLog][QtCore] Added qHash() overloads for QHash, QMultiHash.

e21bf5e6b3 QString::replace(): protect sought text and replacement
When replacing each copy of one text with a copy of another, we do so
in batches of 1024; if we get more than one batch, we need to keep a
copy of the sought text and replacement if they're part of the string
we're modifying, for use in later batches.

Also do the replacements in full batches of 1024, not 1023 (which left
the last entry in an array unused); marked some related tests as
(un)likely; and move some repeated code out into a pair of little
local functions to save duplcation.

Those new functions can also serve replace_helper(); and it can shed a
const_cast and some conditioning of free() by using them the same way
replace() now does. (There was also one place it still used the raw
after, rather than the replacement copy; which could have produced
errors if memcpy were to exercise its right to assume no overlap in
arrays. This error is what prompted me to notice all of the above.)

Added tests. The last error proved untestable as my memcpy is in fact
as fussy as memmove. The first two tests added were attempts to get a
failure out of it. The third did get a failure, but also tripped over
the problem in replace() itself. Added to an existing test function
and renamed it to generally cover extra tests for replace.

1af4916e11 QTime: restore Qt3 compatibility in the QDataStream operators
A Qt5 program writing a null QTime() using setVersion(QDataStream::Qt_3_3),
and then a Qt3 program reading that, would lead to a weird QTime,
with isNull=false, isValid=false, hour=1193, minute=2, second=47, ms=295.

This commit restores interoperability, by writing out the expected value
(0) for a null QTime rather than the -1 value used by Qt4 and Qt5.

3c93286f08 QDataStream: unify deserialization of containers
Serialization of the Qt container classes is accomplished by breaking
up the data into primitive units. On the receiver side, these units
should be read atomically to guarantee integrity of the container.

Deserialization procedures for QHash and QMap were already implemented
in accordance with this strategy and have the following behavior:

 - a previously latched error status is saved for the caller. This
   overrides possible different errors in the current read. This
   is consistent with the treatment of primitive types.
 - if an error occurs during the deserialization, the container is
   cleared.

To make the API consistent, this patch adjusts the behavior of QList,
QLinkedList, QVector, and QSet deserialization. On the implementation
side we accomplish this with a private StreamStateSaver RAII class that
consolidates the handling of the stream status for all containers.

[ChangeLog][Important Behavior Changes][QtCore][QDataStream] Incomplete
reads of Qt containers are now handled same way as for primitive types,
meaning that previous errors are latched.

bff15c547e QDateTime: introduce {to,from,set,current}SecsSinceEpoch
These new functions use a 64-bit integer in the API, instead of the
broken 32-bit unsigned integer that the previous xxxTime_t functions
used. That was a design flaw when the API was introduced back in Qt 4.2,
so I'm deprecating the API and slating it for removal in 6.0.

The changes to qfilesystemmetadata_p.h and quuid.cpp are necessary to
build the bootstrap library. The rest of the adaptation to the new API
will come in the next commit.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QDateTime] Introduced toSecsSinceEpoch,
fromSecsSinceEpoch and setSecsSinceEpoch functions, which use 64-bit
integers to represent the number of seconds.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QDateTime] The toTime_t, fromTime_t and setTime_t
functions are deprecated and will be removed in Qt 6.0. For new code,
use the equivalent functions with "SecsSinceEpoch" in the name, or the
equivalent ones with millisecond accurancy that have existed since
Qt 4.7.

5a15545ee2 QDebug: fix streaming of QChars
Commit 9ef3ff30 introduced a new function, putUcs4(), to
output QChar, char16_t, char32_t as a, possibly escaped,
character literal, but got the order of stream modifiers
wrong. Instead of applying the field width to the 'ucs'
streaming, it applied it to the prefix '\u'. The same
problem exists for the pad char, leading to the result
   '00\ue4'
for a QChar containing
  ä (LATIN SMALL LETTER A WITH DIAERESIS)

Fix by reordering the elements streamed so that the
prefixes come last.

not valid in Qt 5.0.

It was just garbage that Qt up to now just accepted. With the upcoming
short QDateTime optimization, the results are worse.

e9041c7fc1 Fix parsing of tzfile(5) POSIX rule zone names with bracket quotes
POSIX.1-2001 allows quoting a zone name so that it can contain other
characters besides letters, by enclosing it in angle brackets ('<' and
'>'). This hadn't been used until recently (tzdata2016b), when the
Asia/Barnaul rule started using a zone name "+07" (the name variable
contained the value "<+07>-7").

Thanks to Paul Eggert for reporting and investigating the root cause.

03e9c6f4a6 Add support for Apple tvOS
Pass -xplatform macx-tvos-clang to configure to build.
Builds device and simulator by default.

Added ‘uikit’ platform with the common setup.
Also added QT_PLATFORM_UIKIT define (undocumented).
qmake config defines tvos (but not ios).

tvOS is 64bits only (QT_ARCH is arm64) and requires bitcode to be
embedded in the binary. A new ‘bitcode’ configuration was added.
For ReleaseDevice builds (which get archived and push to the store),
bitcode is actually embedded (-fembed-bitcode passed to clang). For all
other configurations, only using bitcode markers to keep file size
down (-fembed-bitcode-marker).

Build disables Widgets in qtbase, and qtscript (unsupported,
would require fixes to JavaScriptCore source code).

Qpa same as on iOS but disables device orientation, status bar, clipboard,
menus, dialogs which are not supported on tvOS.

45eba73492 Fix QVariant conversion to an enum type.
QVariant::canConvert<Enum> was returning true for everything can can be converted
to integer, but not for integer itself. That's because in QVariant::canConvert
we set the targetType to Int of it's an enum, but the Int->Int case was not
on the conversion matrix. So this commits adds it to the conversion matrix
and now QVariant::canConvert<Enum> returns consistently true for int itself.

But even tough canConvert returned true, it did not actualy do any conversion
to the enum type itself. Fix that by handling the case properlt in 'convert'

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QVariant] Fixed QVariant::canConvert and conversion from
integer types to enumeration types.

a5159cc50a QJsonObject: add some overloads taking QLatin1String
QXmlStreamReader also has QLatin1String overloads, which
greatly benefits parsers, since the vast majority of keys
in both JSON and XML are US-ASCII. This patch adds such an
overload to the JSON parser.

The value() function is all typical parsers need, so even
though many more QJsonObject functions taking QString could
benefit from the same treatment, value() is the single most
important one for read-only JSON access.

Add some more overloads, too, for functions that don't need
more internal scaffolding than value(). Requires adding a
dummy op[](QL1S) (forwarding to the QString overload) so as
not to make

  QJsonObject json;
  json[QLatin1String("key")]; // mutable

ambiguous between const op[](QL1S) and mutable op[](QString).

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QJsonObject] Added value(), op[] const,
find(), constFind(), contains() overloads taking QLatin1String.

e1d0da6526 Fix Clang -Wexpansion-to-defined warning by deprecating QT_SUPPORTS
The C and C++ standards say it's undefined whether the preprocessor
supports macros that expand to defined() will operate as an ifdef.
Clang 3.9 started complaining about that fact.

One solution was to change QT_SUPPORTS to check for zero or one, which
means we need to change the #defines QT_NO_xxx to #define QT_NO_xxx 1.
The C standard says we don't need to #define to 0, as an unknown token
is interpreted as zero. However, that might produce a warning (GCC with
-Wundef), so changing the macro this way is not recommended.

Instead, we deprecate the macro and replace the uses with #ifdef/ndef.

ab2f768a8f Autotest: fix the QTimeZone::tzTest failure when database contains LMT
On some operating systems, tzdata files carry the Local Mean Time (LMT)
for the city in question, which better represents how time was tracked
before standard, hourly timezones were introduced in the early 20th
century. The test was asking for the data for 1653-02-09 and assumed
that it would find the first Central European Time (CET) rule, which
Germany didn't start using until 1893-04-01.

This fix allows us to remove the blacklist that had been applied to this
test without investigation. It wasn't related to OpenSUSE, aside from
the fact that OpenSUSE tzdata carries the LMT data.

dbe9a8c969 Don't copy the functor object for each signal emission
The behavior was different in the variadic template code and in the C++98
code. The code without variadic template support was not copying the functor
object (e.g. a lambda) before calling it.
However, in the variadic template section, QtPrivate::FunctorCall::call
took the functor by value instead of by reference resulting in a copy.

QtPrivate::FunctorCall::call is a helper function for
QtPrivate::FunctionPointer::call which is only needed for variadic template
expension.

e0ea0f6178 QChar: optimize comparison with QString{,Ref}
Instead of relying on the QString relational operators to
implicitly convert the QChar to a QString, add relational
operator overloads that compare the QChar without first
turning it into a QString, saving one memory allocation
per comparison, and allowing to mark the operation as
nothrow.

Consequently, in tst_QStringBinOps, verify now that all
relational operations are noexcept.

The added overloads make QChar ==/!= int comparisons
ambiguous. De-ambiguate by providing a constrained
template that matches int and nothing but int (otherwise,
the QChar and the int versions would compete for a
QChar::SpecialCharacter argument, and end up creating
new ambiguities). This solution may not be perfect, but
it can be easily extended should more ambiguities crop up.
The existing overload deals with all patterns found in
qtbase.

bedf0367ac QVariant: Fix flags for type-erased associative iterator key
The flags here are passed to a private QVariant constructor, and they
really represent a boolean - IsPointer or not.

Because the flag for the key_type was incorrectly populated with the
flag for the value_type, memory would be corrupted when using a mapping
type whose value_type is a pointer, but whose key type was not, such as

  QMap<QString, int*>

This typo has been there since the concept was introduced in commit

containers in QVariant., 2013-04-05).

005a8bfbf0 Remove QPROCESS_USE_SPAWN and all that it surrounds
The spawn code was only used to make QProcess work on QNX 6.5.0. Fork
works on QNX 6.6.0. The QNX spawn implementation has a flaw that causes
a deadlock in certain situations. When a working directory is specified
for the process, the QNX spawn implementation stops all threads except
the one doing the spawn so that it can temporarily change the process'
working directory. This can lead to a deadlock if the thread does
anything that conficts with something being done in a stopped thread.
QNX 6.5.0 is no longer supported in Qt 5.6.0 so we can just switch QNX
to the fork implementation and get rid of the spawn implementation.

Made a QNX specific adjustment to the hardExit test. There's a bug
in the OS that the test can run into because it does something that
normal applications wouldn't.

e7cd32274e WinRT: Fix QTimeZone transitions by switching backend
Previously WinRT was using the UTC backend which fails on all platforms

However, the windows backend does query the registry heavily, which is
not supported on WinRT. Instead use the API version provided by the SDK.

Long-term we might want to switch to this version on desktop windows as
well, as direct registry access would not be required and we could
harmonize the codepaths for both platforms.

e4c6d73f92 QRect: fix UB (int overflow) in center()
QRect::center() should be defined for any
  QRect(x1,y1,x2,x2), INT_MIN <= x1, x2, y1, y2 <= INT_MAX
because the average of two signed integers is always
representable as a signed integer.

But not when it's calculated as (x1+x2)/2, since that
expression overflows when x1 > INT_MAX - x2.

Instead of playing games with Hacker's Delight-style
expressions, or use Google's patented algorithm, which
requires two divisions, take advantage of the fact that
int is not intmax_t and perform the calculation in the
qint64 domain. The cast back to int is always well-
defined since, as mentioned, the result is always
representable in an int.

Fix a test-case that expected a nonsensical result due
to overflow.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QRect] Fixed integer overflow in
center(). This fixes the result for some corner-cases
like a 1x1 rectangle at (INT_MIN, INT_MIN), for which
the previous implementation could return anything
(due to invoking undefined behavior), but commonly
returned (0, 0).

a7885c9756 QVector: preserve capacity in clear()
This is what std::vector implementations usually do,
because it minimizes memory fragmentation and useless
allocations since no user will call clear() unless
she intends to append new data afterwards.

Fix calls to resize(0) that show how existing code
tried to work around the issue.

Adjust test. Port from QVERIFY(==) to QCOMPARE as a
drive-by.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QVector] clear() now preserves
capacity. To shed capacity, call squeeze() or swap
with a default-constructed QVector object, see the
documentation for an example.

c5d4972577 Fix for deferredDelete() bug when calling the glib loop directly
This patch makes sure that all events posted using Qt on top of the
GLib event loop have the loopLevel counter incremented.
This is done since Qt depends on the fact that all deleteLater() calls
are issued within the scope of some signal handler (in other words,
triggered by the chain sendEvent() -> notifyInternal2()).
There is a side effect though: in the conditions affected by this
patch, that is deleteLater()s issued within a glib event handler for
example, manually calling processEvents() or sendPostedEvents() with
or without the QEvent::DeferredDelete flag has the same effect, and
deferred deleted events are always processed.
While this is not a currently working feature which the patch breaks,
this side effect seems to be difficult to avoid without separating
sendPostedEvents() and processEvents() into a public and a private
method, in order to detect when they are manually called.
Such change could perhaps be done for Qt6.
An autotest for QTBUG-36434 is also included.
Autotesting for QTBUG-32859 seems to be more challenging in this
respect, due to its dependency on GLib.

2515e1eb3d winrt: cleanup testcases
We have to make sure that the plugins to be tested are located inside
the virtual sandbox / relative to the application binary. Launching via
winrtrunner, a test can find those plugins then. It is not possible to
those via TESTDATA and extract them to temp, as LoadPackagedLibrary only
loads inside the sandbox.

Unfortunately this also implies that running those tests inside Visual
Studio will fail, as Visual Studio copies the virtual sandbox to another
location missing the plugins. For automated testing this should not
matter though.

1c0494e63b QIODevice: add infrastructure for multistreaming
Some sequential devices allow data to be partitioned into several
channels that have the property of independently sequenced delivery.
Supporting such devices uniformly requires a unified API which provides
the user with a uniform concept of multistreaming.

This patch is based on QProcess's multiplexing model and introduces
the following features:

 - ability to get the number of channels;
 - multiple internal read/write buffers;
 - channel selection functions;
 - notification signals on channel activity.

To keep the source code compatible with single-channel implementations,
introduce a private class that references the current read buffer and
hides multistreaming internals from the user.

Bump the TypeInformationVersion field in qtHookData, to notify the
Qt Creator developers that the offset of QFilePrivate::fileName was
changed and dumpers should be adapted.

[ChangeLog][QtCore] Added multistreaming to QIODevice.

seem to be in CET/CEST or on UTC (because we tested sample dates when
our zone coincided) when we aren't (i.e. we're in a materially
different zone at the time probed by some particular test). Make the
initialization of the globals that test this more robust against
governmental meddling and document the unfixable problem with Algeria:
a DST transition *on the epoch*.

There are several European time zones; the only one relevant to the

CET's summer-time isn't called CST; and the (existing) spring forward

184d66caa5 QDataStream: handle incomplete reads from QIODevice
This adds a way to resume reading from a stream after a ReadPastEnd error.
This is done by introducing a stream read transaction mechanism that keeps
read data in an internal buffer and rolls it back on failure.

7d257aab81 QIODevice: handle incomplete reads
Introduce a transaction mechanism that gives the ability to read the
data atomically. Current implementation supports transactions for both
types of devices. For sequential devices, it records the whole input
stream during transaction. For random-access devices, device position
is saved when transaction starts. If an error occurs, the application
may be able to recover the input stream by rolling back to the start
point.

Also, QIODevice::peek() was rewritten to make use of transactions
internally. The replacement of QIODevicePrivateLinearBuffer by
QRingBuffer is closely entangled with that, which makes it unfeasible
to do separately.

Bump the TypeInformationVersion field in qtHookData, to notify the
Qt Creator developers that the offset of QFilePrivate::fileName was
changed and dumpers should be adapted.

[ChangeLog][QtCore] Added QIODevice's startTransaction(),
commitTransaction(), rollbackTransaction(), isTransactionStarted()
functions to support the read transactions.

81858bf172 Don't pretend we know what DST to use for an offset date.
When QDateTime::addDate() and friends sanitize their end-state, they
were using the DST status of their start-state (if known) to control
it. This lead to misguided results and, in particular, inconsistent
results given that a raw-constructed QDateTime comes into being
ignorant of its DST, while a .toLocalTime() one knows its DST.

Furthermore, the code to do this was triplicated, tricky and poorly
explained. So pull it out into a local static function and explain
what it's doing, and why, more clearly and only once.

08775e4bd7 Revert "QString: preserve embedded NULs when converting from QByteArray"
This partially reverts commit e486d69133.
It broke too many users, even though all of them deserved to be broken.
The new functionality will be provided by differently-named functions,
where possible (problem: equality operators).

I did not revert the fix for the off-by-one error in
tst_qtextdocumentfragment.cpp.

I also didn't revert the change in the inequality relational operators,
since for all strings s1, s2 and s2' where s2' is s2 truncated at the
first NUL, s1 < s2 ⟺ s1 < s2' (since NUL < c for any c != 0), and,
trivially, for ≤, >, ≥, too. This does not hold for = and ≠, of course,
since "foo\0bar" ≠ "foo".

[ChangeLog][Important Behavior Changes][EDITORIAL] Reverted: All
conversions from QByteArray to QString now preserve embedded NULs...

89293e6b19 Make DST-transition test more general.
Widen its interval (to work in more TZs) and test spring as well as
autumn. Anywhere that does have a DST transition probably has it
between August and December; and there's no benefit to using a narrow
window.

There's also no sense skipping the test if we don't know there's a DST
transition: the test should still work, it just won't be testing
anything (about DST transitions).

Combine date and time checks into date-time checks, so that, when one
of them fails, QCOMPARE lets us know how the other changed, too.

1e2b42523f Fix UB in tst_QObject::disconnectDoesNotLeakFunctor()
If CountedStruct is passed a GetSenderObject object,
it will attempt to call a member on it from within
its own destructor.

That works usually quite well, but in this test case,
which tests for function object leaks when a connection
is torn down because the sender object is destroyed,
the destruction of the CountedStruct happens when all
connections are severed in ~QObject. At that point,
what used to be a GetSenderObject instance no longer
is one and the call into one of its member functions
invokes undefined behavior.

Fix by making QObject::sender() public by a using
declaration instead of a wrapper function.

f5291bf8b4 Fix UB in tst_QObject::noDeclarativeParentChangedOnDestruction()
If QObjectPrivate::declarativeData is set, it is
in various places in Qt expected to point to a
QAbstractDeclarativeDataImpl, from which ownedByQml1
is unconditionally read.

In noDeclarativeParentChangedOnDestruction(), the
declarativeData pointer is, however, set to a local
QAbstractDeclarativeData instance, which, being an
empty class, has size 1 and alignment 1.

Depending on the compiler's idea of bit field order,
this code either read uninitialized data from the
dummy object, or else some random stack memory outside
any (valid) object.

What caught UBSan's attention, though, was the
difference in alignment between the two classes:

  src/corelib/kernel/qobject.cpp:917:9: runtime error: member access within misaligned address 0x7fffc9cf706f for type 'struct QAbstractDeclarativeDataImpl', which requires 4 byte alignment
