44be067730 Revert "Add the missing shift to the dy"
This reverts commit dd13c02079.

Reason for revert: this breaks the Chromium DEPS roll as we break the layout_tests. I'll add a flag to guard the change in the future and enable the flag while change the layout_tests.

3605ace7dd sksl programs can now directly query GLSL caps
This adds support for querying "sk_Caps.<cap>" directly from within an SkSL program.
Combined with the existing support for collapsing 'if' statements with constant tests,
this means we can query caps using ordinary 'if' statements and the tests will
collapse out at compile time.

7992da32f0 Support decoding images to multiple formats, depending on usage
Our codec generator will now preserve any asked-for color space, and
convert the encoded data to that representation. Cacherator now
allows decoding an image to both legacy (nullptr color space), and
color-correct formats. In color-correct mode, we choose the best
decoded format, based on the original properties, and our backend's
capabilities. Preference is given to the native format, when it's
already texturable (sRGB 8888 or F16 linear). Otherwise, we prefer
linear F16, and fall back to sRGB when that's not an option.

3a88725d58 Always use GL_HALF_FLOAT_OES on ANGLE, even with ES3.
In the past, ANGLE always used GL_HALF_FLOAT. I filed a bug about that,
and they switched to HALF_FLOAT_OES. However, ES3 has direct support for
HALF_FLOAT, so we expect that as the format for read pixels.

The better solution would be to remember and return the value we get
back from IMPLEMENTATION_COLOR_READ_TYPE, but there are subtleties that
create additional bugs when we do that. In particular:

If trying to read Alpha8 from RGBA, the current sequence is:

1. readPixelsSupported asks for the format to use. getExternalFormat
switches out the format (assuming we're using GL_RED). This creates
a format/type pair that fails the ES3.2 rules (16.1.2), so we ask
the driver for the secondary format, which matches the one that we
   expect (from our config table).
2. Then we *actually* do the readPixels, and here we just call
getReadPixelsFormat, which does the remapping, but skips the follow
up checks in readPixelsSupported. So we end up passing a format/type
pair that our code in readPixelsSupported thinks is illegal (and
which is neither the pair that our config table stores, *nor* the
   pair returned by the implementation).

A straightforward solution of the original problem is to notice that
we had to ask the implementation (because the values are filled in),
so we should trust those and not the ones in the config table. But then
we miss out on the chance to overwrite the values for the alpha only
from RGBA case. Sigh.

- everything they should need is in SkBlendMode.h

Step two:
- remove SkXfermode.h entirely (since skia core will already be using SkXfermodePriv.h)

af49b19582 Start each pipeline with (x,y) in (dr,dg) registers for the shader.
Image shaders need to do some geometry work before sampling the image colors:
  1) determine dst coordinates
  2) map back to src coordinates
  3) tiling

Feeding (x,y) through as (dr,dg) registers makes step 1) easy, perhaps trivial, while leaving (r,g,b,a) with their usual meanings, "the color", starting with the paint color.

This is easy to tweak into something like (x+0.5, y+0.5, 1) in (dr,dg,db) once this lands. Mostly I just want to get all the uninteresting boilerplate out of the way first.

041da389dd Tighten SkAAClip Bounds by Path Bounds
This bug chromium:662780 exists after our original fix (https://codereview.chromium.org/2477393002/) because this path (added in unit test) is calling blitAntiRect rather than blitAntiH when the path is drifted across the boundary. (The quadratic edge drifts across the boundary after an update and sets a dX=0 line segment which triggers blitAntiRect.)

Note that I didn't assert for the dLeft = dRite = 0 case because the left/right there won't drift after the SkTMin/SkTMax in line 964/966.

Theoretically we can revert the relaxation in https://codereview.chromium.org/2477393002/ (that's only a relaxation for analytic AA, not supersampled AA). However, consider that the initial landing of analytic AA is so painful, I decide to revert that relaxation only after our successful landing...

58b130681d SkFixedAlloc
Looking at SkSmallAlloc hasn't left me terribly impressed. I think we can replace it with something a lot simpler to work with.

That simpler thing's core would be something like SkFixedAlloc, which allocates objects out of a fixed sized buffer, and cleans them up when done.

If needed, we can wrap that with logic to try to allocate out of an SkFixedAlloc, falling back on mallc() when exhausted.

7c591161d0 Revert of Make SkSmallAllocator obey the RAII invariants and be expandable (patchset #6 id:100001 of https://codereview.chromium.org/2488523003/ )
Reason for revert:
Crashing Mac Perf and Test bots.

This is a flaky but extremely likely crash. I've only seen one Mac Perf or Test bot that had this patch that didn't crash.

This should be easy to reproduce like this:
  $ gn gen out --args=is_debug=false
  $ ninja -C out dm
  $ out/dm -m xfermodes3 --config gpu

This is crashing every time I run it on my laptop, and never when I revert this CL.

Building in release and running --config gpu probably don't matter.

This doesn't appear to be used (fingers crossed).

We're not ready to support color correct encodes (and tagging with
color spaces) for all of the formats included in SkImageEncoder::Type.

I think it's good to restrict this for now.

71d9d84d6c Use temporary FBO for GrGLGpu::onReadPixels.
Allow configs to be supported as FBO attachments for copies/readbacks without being "renderable" elsewhere in Ganesh.

The motivation for this is to add support for int textures as srcs but not as dsts (at least initially) but to still be able to read them back. This means we don't pay for a unneeded GPU copy when reading back a GrSurface that is a GrTexture and not a GrRenderTarget.

c633abbb34 Remove GrStencilSettings from GrPipeline
Updates the GrPipeline to have user stencil settings instead of actual
settings. This allows us to further defer creating and attaching a
stencil buffer.

This change is a partial step. The ultimate goal is to attach the
stencil buffer and create the stencil settings during render target
flush, but for the sake of keeping this CL smaller, we create the
stencil settings right before use for now.

e71b1a1496 Report repetition count in SkCodec
Add a new accessor to retrieve the repetition count.

Remove constants (and corresponding copyright) in SkCodecAnimation.
These may make sense for the calling code, but are not needed here.

kRepetitionCountInfinite corresponds to Blink's kAnimationLoopInfinite.
Move cLoopCountNotSeen to private. It is used to determine whether we
still need to parse. Add a new enum to the parse query - only parse
enough to determine the repetition count.

Unlike Chromium, SkGifCodec does not account for deleting the reader
(which SkGifCodec does not do) or failed decodes.

Add a test.

fc49b403eb Use correct color table for prior GIF frames
While investigating skbug.com/5883 I noticed that we use the color
table for the current frame even while recursively decoding frames that
the current frame depends on.

This CL updates fCurrColorTable, fCurrColorTableIsReal and fSwizzler
before decoding prior frames, and then sets them back afterwards.

Move telling the client about the color table into prepareToDecode,
since the other callers do not need to do so. (That is only necessary
for decoding to index 8, which is unsupported for frames with
dependencies.)

Add a test that exposes the bug. colorTables.gif has a local color
table in its second frame that does not match the global table used by
the first frame.

bd3fe475b8 Convert SkRasterPipeline loads and stores to indirect.
This allows us to change the underlying pointer without rebuilding the pipeline, e.g. when moving the blitter from scanline to scanline.

The extra overhead when not needed is measurable but small, <2%. We can always add back direct stages later for cases where we know the context pointer will not change.

618d304eb3 GrConstColorProcessor uses 4f colors in the destination space
Many places that construct one are explicitly specifying opaque white or
transparent black, which we can assume (based on the semantics of the
operation) should remain (0,0,0,0) or (1,1,1,1), so that's simple.

In other cases, we convert our source color to destination space.

One wrinkle is tht SkColorFilter now needs to know the destination color
space, due to SkModeColorFilter.

19b91531e9 Add support for multiple frames in SkCodec
Add an interface to decode frames beyond the first in SkCodec, and
add an implementation for SkGifCodec.

Add getFrameData to SkCodec. This method reads ahead in the stream
to return a vector containing meta data about each frame in the image.
This is not required in order to decode frames beyond the first, but
it allows a client to learn extra information:
- how long the frame should be displayed
- whether a frame should be blended with a prior frame, allowing the
client to provide the prior frame to speed up decoding

Add a new fields to SkCodec::Options:
- fFrameIndex
- fHasPriorFrame

The API is designed so that SkCodec never caches frames. If a
client wants a frame beyond the first, they specify the frame in
Options.fFrameIndex. If the client does not have the
frame's required frame (the frame that this frame must be blended on
top of) cached, they pass false for
Options.fHasPriorFrame. Unless the frame is
independent, the codec will then recursively decode all frames
necessary to decode fFrameIndex. If the client has the required frame
cached, they can put it in the dst they pass to the codec, and the
codec will only draw fFrameIndex onto it.

Replace SkGifCodec's scanline decoding support with progressive
decoding, and update the tests accordingly.

Implement new APIs in SkGifCodec. Instead of using gif_lib, use
GIFImageReader, imported from Chromium (along with its copyright
headers) with the following changes:
- SkGifCodec is now the client
- Replace blink types
- Combine GIFColorMap::buildTable and ::getTable into a method that
  creates and returns an SkColorTable
- Input comes from an SkStream, instead of a SegmentReader. Add
SkStreamBuffer, which buffers the (potentially partial) stream in
  order to decode progressively.
(FIXME: This requires copying data that previously was read directly
from the SegmentReader. Does this hurt performance? If so, can we
  fix it?)
- Remove UMA code
- Instead of reporting screen width and height to the client, allow the
  client to query for it
- Fail earlier if the first frame AND screen have size of zero
- Compute required previous frame when adding a new one
- Move GIFParseQuery from GIFImageDecoder to GIFImageReader
- Allow parsing up to a specific frame (to skip parsing the rest of the
stream if a client only wants the first frame)
- Compute whether the first frame has alpha and supports index 8, to
create the SkImageInfo. This happens before reporting that the size
  has been decoded.

Add GIFImageDecoder::haveDecodedRow to SkGifCodec, imported from
Chromium (along with its copyright header), with the following changes:
- Add support for sampling
- Use the swizzler
- Keep track of the rows decoded
- Do *not* keep track of whether we've seen alpha

Remove SkCodec::kOutOfOrder_SkScanlineOrder, which was only used by GIF
scanline decoding.

Call onRewind even if there is no stream (SkGifCodec needs to clear its
decoded state so it will decode from the beginning).

Add a method to SkSwizzler to access the offset into the dst, taking
subsetting into account.

Add a GM that animates a GIF.
Add tests for the new APIs.

*** Behavior changes:
* Previously, we reported that an image with a subset frame and no transparent
index was opaque and used the background index (if present) to fill the
background. This is necessary in order to support index 8, but it does not
match viewers/browsers I have seen. Examples:
- Chromium and Gimp render the background transparent
- Firefox, Safari, Linux Image Viewer, Safari Preview clip to the frame (for
  a single frame image)
This CL matches Chromium's behavior and renders the background transparent.
This allows us to have consistent behavior across products and simplifies
the code (relative to what we would have to do to continue the old behavior
on Android). It also means that we will no longer support index 8 for some
GIFs.
* Stop checking for GIFSTAMP - all GIFs should be either 89a or 87a.
This matches Chromium. I suspect that bugs would have been reported if valid
GIFs started with "GIFVER" instead of "GIF89a" or "GIF87a" (but did not decode
in Chromium).

*** Future work not included in this CL:
* Move some checks out of haveDecodedRow, since they are the same for the
  entire frame e.g.
- intersecting the frameRect with the full image size
- whether there is a color table
* Change when we write transparent pixels
- In some cases, Chromium deemed this unnecessary, but I suspect it is slower
than the fallback case. There will continue to be cases where we should
*not* write them, but for e.g. the first pass where we have already
cleared to transparent (which we may also be able to skip) writing the
transparent pixels will not make anything incorrect.
* Report color type and alpha type per frame
- Depending on alpha values, disposal methods, frame rects, etc, subsequent
frames may have different properties than the first.
* Skip copies of the encoded data
- We copy the encoded data in case the stream is one that cannot be rewound,
so we can parse and then decode (possibly not immediately). For some input
  streams, this is unnecessary.
  - I was concerned this cause a performance regression, but on average the
new code is faster than the old for the images I tested [1].
  - It may cause a performance regression for Chromium, though, where we can
always move back in the stream, so this should be addressed.

The LabPCSDemo GM loads a .icc profile containing a LAB PCS and

b36a3cd137 break ambiguous angle sorting loop
A pair of cubics may be difficult to sort if the tangents suggest
one sort but the midpoints suggest a different one. When in this
gray area, and when the cumulative sort of all the angles fails to
resolve, reverse the sort to break the tie.

Before, when tiger8 was run through the signed distance field
generated directly from the path data, the simplify call might
hang since the angle could not be resolved. If the endless loop
is detected, and if there is no tie to break, just fail instead.

6c15cc7e9d Modify deferred texture image API's handling of gamma
This tries to match the behavior you would see if you rendered directly to
a canvas without going through this round-trip. Specifically, mips are
built in the same way that they would be according to the context's
internal logic. To make things clearer, the user passes in the color space
of the destination surface, not our (internal) enum.

4a6b28ef76 Add "Narrow" RGB gamut to DM
This is an artificially small color space, for testing rendering with
values that fall outside of [0,1]. All of the saturated sRGB colors used
in our tests will end up landing outside of [0,1] in this space, so we can
verify that nothing that crashes, or produces wildly incorrect results.

Of course, many GMs *do* produce wildly incorrect results, but I need
to catalog all of those and start figuring out why.

11abd8d6cb Explicit control in tools of ANGLE frontend and backend
Update the ANGLE test GL context, GrContextFactory, and config parsing to allow explicit control of ANGLE front/backend.

This will allow us to explicitly test ES2 vs ES3 interfaces to ANGLE as well as D3D9, D3D11, and OpenGL backends.

Also makes the angle api types valid in all builds (but will just fail when SK_ANGLE=1 or not on windows for the d3d backends).

7c602de058 Removed makeLinearGamma() from the public API for SkColorSpace
It will now reside in SkColorSpace_Base. Future work for SkColorSpace
will cause this function to not be desirable or sensible to call on
all SkColorSpaces. Call sites were changed to make a kSRGBLinear_Named
instead of kSRGB_Named -> makeLinearGamma() (the majority of cases),
and if that was not possible, SkColorSpace_Base::makeLinearGamma()
was called instead.

15341a284e Revert of Turned on SkSL->GLSL compiler (patchset #47 id:1200001 of https://codereview.chromium.org/2288033003/ )
Reason for revert:
Looks like it introduces new static initializers, and it's failing the Chrome roll.

e61b3b4018 Report 0 rowsDecoded for no rows (SkPngCodec interlaced)
incrementalDecode is supposed to report the number of rows decoded. It
failed to if none were decoded (for an interlaced png). Fix the bug and
add a test.

c46cdd48eb Fix an assert statement in SkPngCodec
allRowsCallback was asserting that
    rowNum - fFirstRow == fLinesDecoded

But it was expecting fFirstRow to be 0 (logically, it is, since we are
decoding all rows), and it never set it (because it doesn't really need
to, except for this assert). This is only a problem if we reuse an
SkPngCodec after previously scaling with it. Add a test that triggers
the assert, and fix it.

Add support for tight bounds to detect and return moveTo
followed by close or zero-length lineTo.

Also short circuit so that hard work is avoided when
the path bounds is also the tight bounds.

Avoid doing work if the bounds can be trivially computed.
Include naked moveTo coordinates in the tight bounds.

9161ef012f Make all SkRasterPipeline stages stock stages in SkOpts.
If we want to support VEX-encoded instructions (AVX, F16C, etc.) without a ridiculous slowdown, we need to make sure we're running either all VEX-encoded instructions or all non-VEX-encoded instructions. That means we cannot mix arbitrary user-defined SkRasterPipeline::Fn (never VEX) with those living in SkOpts (maybe VEX)... it's SkOpts or bust.

This ports the existing user-defined SkRasterPipeline::Fn use cases over to use stock stages from SkOpts. I rewrote the unit test to use stock stages, and moved the SkXfermode implementations to SkOpts. The code deleted for SkArithmeticMode_scalar should already be dead.

c6cc28c35b Fixed invalid memory access issue in SkColorSpaceXform::apply()
Passing in a large buffer along with a source colour space that
used a CLUT would cause apply() to read freed heap memory, or
for smaller buffers read possibly re-used stack memory.
The code previously likely lucked out due to optimizations
removing most or all of the subsequent stack allocations.

baaf8ad952 Start moving SkRasterPipeline stages to SkOpts.
This lets them pick up runtime CPU specializations. Here I've plugged in SSE4.1. This is still one of the N prelude CLs to full 8-at-a-time AVX.

I've moved the union of the stages used by SkRasterPipelineBench and SkRasterPipelineBlitter to SkOpts... they'll all be used by the blitter eventually. Picking up SSE4.1 specialization here (even still just 4 pixels at a time) is a significant speedup, especially to store_srgb(), so much that it's no longer really interesting to compare against the fused-but-default-instruction-set version in the bench. So that's gone now.

That left the SkRasterPipeline unit test as the only other user of the EasyFn simplified interface to SkRasterPipeline. So I converted that back down to the bare-metal interface, and EasyFn and its friends became SkRasterPipeline_opts.h exclusive abbreviations (now called Kernel_Sk4f). This isn't really unexpected: SkXfermode also wanted to build up its own little abstractions, and once you build your own abstraction, the value of an additional EasyFn-like layer plummets to negative.

For simplicity I've left the SkXfermode stages alone, except srcover() which was always part of the blitter. No particular reason except keeping the churn down while I hack. These _can_ be in SkOpts, but don't have to be until we go 8-at-a-time.

c8dd6bc3e7 Rearrange SkRasterPipeline scanline tail handling.
We used to step at a 4-pixel stride as long as possible, then run up to 3 times, one pixel at a time. Now replace those 1-at-a-time runs with a single tail stamp if there are 1-3 remaining pixels.

This style is simply more efficient: e.g. we'll blend and lerp once for 3 pixels instead of 3 times. This should make short blits significantly more efficient. It's also more future-oriented... AVX+ on Intel and SVE on ARM support masked loads and stores, so we can do the entire tail in one direct step.

This also makes it possible to re-arrange the code a bit to encapsulate each stage better. I think generally this code reads more clearly than the old code, but YMMV. I've arranged things so you write one function, but it's compiled into two specializations, one for tail=0 (Body) and one for tail>0 (Tail). It's pretty tidy.

For now I've just burned a register to pass around tail. It's 2 bits now, maybe soon 3 with AVX, and capped at 4 for even the craziest new toys, so there are plenty of places we can pack it if we want to get clever.

eed6b0e1d8 Change SkSpecialImage::makeSurface and makeTightSurface to take output
properties (color space), bounds, and (optional) alphaType.

We were being pretty inconsistent before. Raster was honoring all
components of the info. GPU was using the supplied color type, but
propagating the source's color space. All call sites were saying N32.

What we want to do is propagate the original device's color space, and
pick a good format from that. Rather than force all the clients to
jump through hoops constructing an SkImageInfo that meets our criteria,
just have them supply the few bits we care about, and do everything else
internally.

This also lets us always use RGBA on GPU, but N32 on raster.

aa840647fc Don't compute path keys for volatile paths in GrShape.
Otherwise, we will compute cache keys for internally transformed paths that don't repeat (e.g. clip paths transformed into device space with a changing view matrix).

cc09372730 fix msan bug in pathops
Msan and Valgrind found an uninitialized memory mistake in
pathops. This also fixes similar bugs where not all parts
of the geometry were covered in the loop iteration.

27c015dfcf split tight quads and conics
Tight quads and conics may nearly fold over on themselves, confusing
coincidence against other curves. Split them at their max curvature
early on to avoid complicating later logic.
