17c1cf2865 Re-Re-land: Enable external startup by default on Linux.
crrev.com/1177163002 should have fixed the issues that broke this last time.

Notes:
- The current functionality is meant to stay. If you prefer the old way,
  just set v8_use_external_startup_data=0.
- You might notice this if you call d8 via PATH. Either explicitly tell d8
  where your external snapshot/built-ins are, or change the build options
  as above.
- This follows Chromium practice, that mostly uses this feature these days.
- Other platforms to follow later.

ad547cea05 Add the concept of a V8 extras exports object
Exposed to the extras as extrasExports (on the builtins object), on
which they can put things that should be accessible from C++. Exposed
to C++ through the V8 API as v8::Context::GetExtrasExportsObject().

Adding a test (in test-api.cc) required adding a simple extra,
test-extra.js, which we build into the standalone builds.

4486c47d9b [clang] Use -Wshorten-64-to-32 to enable warnings about 64bit to 32bit truncations.
Currently only the Win64 bots report this warnings, which adds quite
some overhead to the development process. With this flag we also get
compiler warnings about implicit 64bit to 32bit truncations when
building with clang on Linux/x64 and Mac/x64.

2ec0f32abb Fix host_arch detection for AIX and one new warning as error
The value returned on AIX for platform.machine() is not the
best value to map the architecture from. Use platform.system
to determine if we are on AIX and if so set host_arch to
ppc64 as AIX 6.1 (the earliest supported) only provides a
64 bit kernel

AIX was reporting warning that offset may be used uninitialized

45ce804782 Revert of Default-enable external startup data for Linux for stand-alone builds. (patchset #1 id:1 of https://codereview.chromium.org/956373002/)
Reason for revert:
The CL caused two issues:
- a weird build issue on V8 mips builder
- d8 cannot be invoked via PATH, since then it doesn't find its external snapshot.

The 2nd issue might even be WAI, but this needs more consideration.

- changes to update the ppc directories so they are current with the changes
in the rest of the project.
- remaining AIX changes not resolved by 4.8 compiler
- individual optimizations for PPC

aeb09e6dcf Merge v8_optimized_debug 1 and 2
All builders that used level 1 should meanwhile define
v8_enable_slow_dchecks, and so they can use level 2 without losing
coverage. Level 2, however, is considerably faster, so we want to use it
on those builders as well. The make optdebug setting is not affected by
this change.

71bb00e261 Consistently use only one of virtual/OVERRIDE/FINAL.
FINAL implies OVERRIDE, which in turn implies virtual, so there's no need to use
more than one of these. The Google C++ style guide even requires this, see
http://google-styleguide.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/cppguide.html#Inheritance.

While we're here, port r24662 to x87.

The net result is that v8 compiles again with a current clang.

bab70ca936 Set host_arch to ia32 on machines with a 32bit userland but a 64bit kernel.
I don't know if there are any v8 bots with that configuration, but it seems
like a good idea to have v8 be consistent with chromium and nacl here, so that
this works fine if such a bot is ever set up.

This is similar to https://codereview.chromium.org/342493002/ , but with a
detect_v8_host_arch.py script that handles the additional machine types that
standalone.gypi used to handle.

d426cd1012 Use abstract configurations to switch between opt debug settings
The problem is that conditions are evaluated before configuration inheritance is resolved, so we can't just define a configuration like this:

'Optdebug': {
  'inherits_from': ['Debug'],
  'variables': {
    'v8_optimized_debug': 2,
  }
}

Instead, we have to put the different settings depending on the optimization level into separate configurations, and use conditions inside the concrete configurations to inherit from the correct base class.

Common settings go in the base configuration DebugBaseCommon, and v8_optimized_debug dependent settings go into DebugBase{0,1,2}

The new Debug configuration inherits from DebugBaseCommon and DebugBase<(v8_optimized_debug), while the new configuration Optdebug inherits from DebugBaseCommon and DebugBase2.
