45d1b442f1 Move uils and sksl to a common sources GYP file.
This is for the coalescing of sources in one GYP file to improve GN runtime. If
this is successful, the other sources lists will also be merged into this one
file.

Inlines "../src" and "../include" for skia_source_dir and skia_include_dir. Evaluating these with GYP's variable expansion is annoying since I think another layer of nesting is required. Coding these explicitly is also more clear. This used to be required because Chromium would reference these .gypi files directly with a different path, but this no longer happens.

Removes the chromium defines gypi which is no longer referenced.

bf4a8f90c8 Improve usage of window rectangles
* Skips non-AA diff rect elements and replaces them with window
  rectangles.
* Places window rectangles in the interiors of antialiased diff rects.
* Arranges two overlapping window rectangles in a plus shape inside of
  diff rounded rects.
* Enables window rectangles when clearing and generating clip masks.

39f7a10a04 Move uils and sksl to a common sources GYP file.

Removes the chromium defines gypi which is no longer referenced.

b944728b93 Move Skia GN sources to a separate .gni file.
This file will be imported by Chrome to access the sources lists.

Once Chrome is updated to use this file, changes to the skia .gypi layout can
be done entirely within the skia repository as long as the resulting lists
produced by the new .gni file have the same name.

Marks skia_for_chromium_defines as obsolete and moves the definition into the new .gni file. We can remove the .gypi file when Chrome is updated.

0590fa549d Build LSAN suppressions into the test binaries.
This way you don't need to set LSAN_SUPPRESSIONS in your environment...
sort of foolproof this way.

I _think_ the strdup() business from skia:2916 is actually rooted in
libfontconfig, so one suppression should cover both old ones.

I'll leave the file empty until I clean up mention of it in bot recipes.

7147ee1b80 Expat target exports includes instead of FreeType.
Currently when building for Android framework the freetype target
exports the expat include directory, but the freetype target neither
uses nor logically provides this information. Instead, the expat target
itself should do this.

e3031b607c Update ANGLE to latest as of August 25, 2016
With this version, it's now exposing GL_EXT_color_buffer_half_float, but
it's (incorrectly) using GL_HALF_FLOAT rather than GL_HALF_FLOAT_OES.
In addition, release builds were crashing in EGLImageTest due to an
apparent disagreement about calling convention on function-pointer to
exported symbol. There is a proper typedef for that in one of their
headers, but I can't seem to include it without creating more problems,
so I just fixed the decoration on our local typedef.

With those changes, all tests pass, and (on my Windows machine), all
GMs and SKPs produce identical results vs. master in angle and angle-gl.

78559a78f9 Use ARMv8 CRC32 instructions for SkOpts::hash().
For large inputs, this runs ~11x faster than Murmur3.
My bench drops from 1µs to 88ns.

Like x86-64, this runs fastest if we work in 24 byte chunks. 16 byte chunks
run at about 0.75x this speed, 8 byte chunks at about 0.4x (which would still
be about 5x faster than Murmur3).

This'll require plumbing support for opts_crc32 into Chrome first before it can roll.

Plumbs the pipeline for window rectangles and uses them for a very
basic implementation of difference clip rects. This puts a common
Blink pattern on fast path, but we will still eventually need to make
more comprehensive use of window rectangles during clipping.

9c5052f16b SkLite*
SkLiteRecorder, a new SkCanvas, fills out SkLiteDL, a new SkDrawable.

This SkDrawable is a display list similar to SkRecord and SkBigPicture / SkRecordedDrawable, but with a few new design points inspired by Android and slimming paint:

  1) SkLiteDL is structured as one big contiguous array rather than the two layer structure of SkRecord. This trades away flexibility and large-op-count performance for better data locality for small to medium size pictures.

  2) We keep a global freelist of SkLiteDLs, both reusing the SkLiteDL struct itself and its contiguous byte array. This keeps the expected number of mallocs per display list allocation <1 (really, ~0) for cyclical use cases.

These two together mean recording is faster. Measuring against the code we use at head, SkLiteRecorder trends about ~3x faster across various size pictures, matching speed at 0 draws and beating the special-case 1-draw pictures we have today. (I.e. we won't need those special case implementations anymore, because they're slower than this new generic code.) This new strategy records 10 drawRects() in about the same time the old strategy took for 2.

This strategy stays the winner until at least 500 drawRect()s on my laptop, where I stopped checking.

A simpler alternative to freelisting is also possible (but not implemented here), where we allow the client to manually reset() an SkLiteDL for reuse when its refcnt is 1. That's essentially what we're doing with the freelist, except tracking what's available for reuse globally instead of making the client do it.

This code is not fully capable yet, but most of the key design points are there. The internal structure of SkLiteDL is the area I expect to be most volatile (anything involving Op), but its interface and the whole of SkLiteRecorder ought to be just about done.

You can run nanobench --match picture_overhead as a demo. Everything it exercises is fully fleshed out, so what it tests is an apples-to-apples comparison as far as recording costs go. I have not yet compared playback performance.

It should be simple to wrap this into an SkPicture subclass if we want.

I won't start proposing we replace anything old with anything new quite yet until I have more ducks in a row, but this does look pretty promising (similar to the SkRecord over old SkPicture change a couple years ago) and I'd like to land, experiment, iterate, especially with an eye toward Android.

ada5a44f3b GN: get echo-headers sources via exec_script
exec_script runs every time gn does, which is explicitly on every one of our
bot runs. That should be enough to obviate the .git/logs/HEAD hack.

Easiest way to do this was to swap around find.py's argument order to allow
multiple search directories. This is the root of all the .gyp changes.

This moves the blacklist into BUILD.gn, which I think is nice.
It expands it a little as we're now searching recursively, into include/gpu/vk
which we can't include safely without the Vulkan SDK.

9b03e7b29d GrFP can express distance vector field req., program builder declares variable for it
This update allows fragment processors to require a field of vectors to the nearest edge. This requirement propagates:

- from child FPs to their parent
- from parent FPs to the GrPaint
- from GrPaint through the PipelineBuilder into GrPipeline
- acessed from GrPipeline by GrGLSLProgramBuilder

GrGLSL generates a variable for the distance vector and passes it down to the GeometryProcessor->emitCode() method.

This makes SK_GAMMA_SRGB the default / a no-op, which seems more realistic.

Chrome's explicitly setting SK_GAMMA_EXPONENT or SK_GAMMA_SRGB.
We set Android platform explicitly to 1.4.

02aed95f9c Revert of GrFP can express distance vector field req., program builder declares variable for it (patchset #20 id:370001 of https://codereview.chromium.org/2114993002/ )
Reason for revert:
UBSAN says we're reading a bad bool here:
bool usesDistanceVectorField() const { return fUsesDistanceVectorField; }

../../../include/gpu/GrPaint.h:83:51: runtime error: load of value 239, which is not a valid value for type 'bool'
SUMMARY: AddressSanitizer: undefined-behavior ../../../include/gpu/GrPaint.h:83:51 in

Seems likely also the root of Valgrind failure:

Motivation:
SkPDFStream and SkPDFSharedStream now work the same.

Also:
- move SkPDFStream into SkPDFTypes (it's a fundamental PDF type).
- minor refactor of SkPDFSharedStream
- SkPDFSharedStream takes unique_ptr to represent ownership

4ef6dfa708 GrFP can express distance vector field req., program builder declares variable for it
This update allows fragment processors to require a field of vectors to the nearest edge. This requirement propagates:

- from child FPs to their parent
- from parent FPs to the GrPaint
- from GrPaint through the PipelineBuilder into GrPipeline
- acessed from GrPipeline by GrGLSLProgramBuilder

GrGLSL generates a variable for the distance vector and passes it down to the GeometryProcessor->emitCode() method.

This builds, links, and runs on Linux. Have not tried Mac.

I've tested is_debug={true,false} and is_component_build.
It's neat that the component build DM works, but it's also an indication I've missed an essential flag or two... it shouldn't work. :)

The GPU backend isn't working yet, but all the software configurations I've tried look good.

This fleshes out all the other parts of SkCodec too... I noticed we weren't able to decode gifs or webp.

735109c248 Add gyp define to enable vulkan debug layers
On Debug vulkan bots, running with the debug layers on seems to be adding
more than an hour to the total running time. Since we suppress any output
on the bots anyways the debug layers are serving no purpose. Thus I am
adding a gyp define to disable the layers on the bot.

With this change, by default when running vulkan in Debug, the debug_layers
will be enabled. The bots should disable the layers. Android framework
should also have them disabled by default.

54f30c13fc Introduce GrColorSpaceXform, for gamut conversion on textures
GrTextureAccess optionally includes an instance, computed from the src
and dst color spaces. In all common cases (no color space for either src
or dst, or same color space for both), no object is allocated.

This change is orthogonal to my attempts to get color space attached to
render targets - regardless of how we choose to do that, this will give
us the source color space at all points where we are connecting src to
dst.

There are many dangling injection points where I've been inserting
nullptr, but I have a record of all of them. Additionally, there are now
three places (the most common simple paths for bitmap/image rendering)
where things are plumbed enough that I expect to have access to the dst
color space (all marked with XFORMTODO).

In addition to getting the dst color space, I need to inject shader code
and uniform uploading for appendTextureLookup and friends.

485a12003a Add resource provider flag to avoid client-side buffers
On some platforms, a newly-created buffer was liable to be CPU backed.
This would break code that expected a VBO (aka instanced rendering).
This change adds an optional flag to GrResourceProvider that requires
a buffer to be created in GPU memory.

It also moves the CPU backing logic into Gr land in order to properly
cache real VBOs on platforms that prefer client-side buffers.

9199a9fef9 Move GrDrawTarget::clear logic into GrDrawContext
I found it a bit worrisome that GrDrawTarget was calling back into GrDrawContext. This also moves GrDrawTarget closer to being a simple-ish container of batches.

ac41bac40f Move sRGB <-> linear conversion components to their own files.
This makes them a little easier to use outside SkColorXform code.

I've added some notes about how best to use them and their eccentricities, and added a test.

Ultimately any software sRGB <-> linear conversion should funnel somehow through here.

a7f29640f6 Begin instanced rendering for simple shapes
Adds a module that performs instanced rendering and starts using it
for a select subset of draws on Mac GL platforms. The instance
processor can currently handle rects, ovals, round rects, and double
round rects. It can generalize shapes as round rects in order to
improve batching. The instance processor also employs new drawing
algorithms, irrespective of instanced rendering, that improve GPU-side
performance (e.g. sample mask, different triangle layouts, etc.).

This change only scratches the surface of instanced rendering. The
majority of draws still only have one instance. Future work may
include:

 * Passing coord transforms through the texel buffer.
 * Sending FP uniforms through instanced vertex attribs.
 * Using instanced rendering for more draws (stencil writes,
   drawAtlas, etc.).
 * Adding more shapes to the instance processor’s repertoire.
 * Batching draws that have mismatched scissors (analyzing draw
   bounds, inserting clip planes, etc.).
 * Bindless textures.
 * Uber shaders.
