20bd04e365 Turn on the kUsePathBoundsForClip_RecordingFlag in bench, gm and tools that use class PictureRenderer 
Chrome uses this flag for recording to skpicture in order to improve performance.
Therefore, skai benchmarks should run with this flag enabled, and we need 
gm and render_pictures test coverage to validate it.  In gm, the vanilla 
SkPicture test step will still run without the flag to ensure that case still gets test
coverage, while the SkPicture test steps that use rtree and tileGrid will now run with
the flag enabled.

15655b241b gm: remove --diffPath option and all other pixel diff functionality. 
If you want pixel diffs, you need to run skdiff instead; from now on,
gm will only tell you WHETHER the images differed (not HOW they differed).

fb2cd425c2 add --exclude-config to opt out of 1 or more configs. This always is respected, 
regardless of the ordering of --config and --exclude-config.

add --verbose [-v] to dump extra info, e.g. what configs are being run

changed --config to enforce a unique set of configs to be run, such that
--config 8888 --config 8888 results in just 1 run of 8888.

58be1015a0 Adding gm test steps for rtree and tileGrid 
The new passes are enabled by default, and can be disabled with --nortree and --notileGrid.
With this change, the skia buildbots will begin continuously testing rtree and tileGrid.

6c0e5225a0 Add --writeJsonSummary option to gm 
This writes out a JSON file containing expected and actual checksum values for every test.

3cb834bd27 Modifying SkTileGrid to support arbitrary query rectangles. 
Exposing SkTileGrid functionality in the public API through SkTileGridPicture.
This patch also makes TileGrid and Rtree testable in gm, which revealed errors.

5a7c6be72b Add the ability to provide function pointers to SkPicture serialization 
and deserialization for encoding and decoding bitmaps.

Remove kForceFlattenBitmapPixels_Flag, which is no longer used.

When an SkOrderedReadBuffer needs to read a bitmap, if it does not
have an image decoder, use a dummy bitmap.

In GM, add a tolerance option for color differences, used when
testing picture serialization, so it can assume two images are the
same even though PNG encoding/decoding may have resulted in small
differences.

Create dummy implementations for SkImageDecoder and SkImageEncoder
functions in SkImageDecoder_empty so that a project that does not
want to include the images project it can still build.

Allow ports to build without images project.

In Mac's image encoder, copy 4444 to 8888 before encoding.

Add SkWriter32::reservePad, to provide a pointer to write non 4 byte
aligned data, padded with zeroes.

In bench_ and render_ pictures, pass decode function to SkPicture
creation from a stream.

565254bc93 Fix SkGPipe drawing, and turn it on by default. 
A recent change broke SkGPipe. Fix it, and turn on pipe drawing
in GM by default so we will catch these in the future.

We already had a bug where SkGPipeWriter had to use its Cross Process
flag to work, so for a quick fix, force the reader to use the Cross
Process flag as well. The bug to allow both cross and non cross process

To specify a config, add -config <configName1>|<configName2> etc

72c9672ce2 Add tiled rendering as an option to GM. 
Use an SkGPipe to play back drawing into tiles.
This will help us to debug differences in drawing
while tiled.

1313086ef4 fix warnings on Mac in gm 
Fix these class of warnings:
- unused functions
- unused locals
- sign mismatch
- missing function prototypes
- missing newline at end of file
- 64 to 32 bit truncation

The changes prefer to link in dead code in the debug build
with 'if (false)' than to comment it out, but trivial cases
are commented out or sometimes deleted if it appears to be
a copy/paste error.

5af9b2032b Make the GM tool run GMs through an SkGPipe. 
Add pipe to core gyp project.

Do not run samplerstress through the pipe, since its
custom MaskFilter will not draw correctly.

Fix an assert in SkGPipeWrite when writing a typeface.

10afbefa5b add optional --forceBWtext to gm, forcing all text to BW to ease 
comparisons between platform variations (e.g. mac 10.5,6,7)

probably only make sense in conjunction with some flag on GM allowing
the slide to opt in-or-out, so we only hack text labels, and not GMs
that are explicitly trying to test text rendering.

ece2b0297c reenable rotated freetype fix, but behind #ifndef SK_IGNORE_ROTATED_FREETYPE_FIX, 
so chrome can disable it for now.

cae6b3f1e8 -replay tests are only run if forward rendering succeeded. 
-serialize tests are only run if previous test (either -replay or forward
rendering) succeeded.
The results of -replay and -serialize are compared against the output of
forward rendering.

ea325437bd When user specifies an output path with -w, only output files from main 
render (don't output -replay and -serialize files into separate
directories).
If main render fails, don't test -replay or -serialize.

Also fix misnamed variable, line-wrap.

8e728d7467 Propagate return values from compare() up to main() so we can return 0 if all 
tests succeed, -1 if any tests fail. (This will allow the automated test
infrastructure to run GM.) Because we haven't implemented it on some
architectures, not creating a GPU context is not considered a failure.

6abfa49b97 Fix default value of doSerialize parameter (oops!). 
Change suffixes on auxiliary output directories to match names of flags
(-replay and -serialize).
Add to output messages an indication of whether this error occurred during
-replay or -serialize (no indication == standard rendering).

75f97e452e Generalize the flip origin argument to the PDF device constructor. 
The argument still has a default value that does what most users will want, but provides more flexibility.
Chrome will use this change to support an initial translation of the origin to simulate a margin and to scale the entire content (needed on Windows).

When landing to Chrome, this will need http://codereview.chromium.org/6820038

686abdfab0 [PDF] Improve PDF support in gm. 
Currently gm ends up writing the same PDF four times.  This fixes that problem, making PDF a first class citizen and providing a better framework for additional backends.  Read support for PDF is still missing though.
