Previously ExternalValues were flexible, and could be used as raw values
(with the ability to chain access via dot notation), or they could be
callable. The only non-test use-case has been for functions (in
particles) for a long time. With the push towards SkVM, limiting
ourselves to this interface simplifies things: external functions are
basically custom intrinsics (and with the SkVM backend, they'll just get
access to the builder, and be able to do any math, as well as
loads/stores, etc).
By narrowing the feature set, we can rename everything to reflect that,
and it's overall clearer (the SkSL types now mirror FunctionReference
and FunctionCall directly, particularly in how they're handled by the
CFG and inliner).

This fixes test OverflowUintLiteral.sksl. Added a test for floats as

OverflowIntLiteral.sksl does not fail yet, because its values are larger

Previously, a return statement inside a scoped Block would always result
in the return expression being assigned to a temporary variable instead
of replacing the function-call-expression directly. This was done
because there might be variables inside the Block; these would have
fallen out of scope when the expression is migrated to the call site,
resulting in an invalid expression.
We aren't actually examining the return expression so we don't know if
it uses variables from an inner scope at all. (Inspecting the return
expression for variable usage is certainly possible! But it's a fair
amount of code and complexity for a small payoff.)
However, we can very easily get most of the benefit here without paying
for the complexity. In this CL we now look for variable declarations
inside of scoped Blocks. If the code doesn't add any vardecls into
scoped Blocks, there's no risk of scope problems, and we don't need to
use a temp-var to store our return expressions. If any vardecls are
added, we go back to using a temp-var as before.

Still TODO:
- Function calls. Can do these by inlining everything (recursively).
- Additional flow control: ES2 for loops can be supported (via
unrolling), and switch() can be implemented. (Was never done in
ByteCode).
- Uniforms and params have been set up to work very generically (caller
just supplies IDs, the generator collates everything into a master
working list). Builtins should work the same way (caller supplies a
map of builtin ID -> skvm::Val[]?), so that we don't need a special
case for device coord.
- Figure out integer type policy. Today, it's a mix of only supporting
signed integers, and just treating all integers as signed, even if
they're not.
- Now that defining intrinsics is *much* simpler, stop defining so many
of them in sksl_public.sksl, and just implement them here.

The existing code didn't work properly with half types since the $mat
type encompassed both halfNxM and floatNxM. This was fixed by splitting
the half types out of $mat into a separate $matH generic.
Unit tests now compile properly for GLSL, but generate errors in SPIR-V
and generate Metal code which attempts to call a non-existent intrinsic.

Depending on the encoded image, SkWebpCodec may need to blend the
the output from libwebp with the prior frame. It does so using the
method blend_line, which expects the libwebp output to be unpremul.
Prior to this commit, SkWebpCodec sometimes told libwebp to premultiply,
and then passed that premultiplied data to blend_line, which
premultiplied again.
Use webpInfo's alphaType to decide whether to premultiply. Consolidate
choosing its alphaType into one block. The functional difference is that
if (blendWithPrevFrame), we no longer premul if the dst is kPremul.
Move declaration of webDst to where it's used.

We now insert helper functions which defer the assignment of out-
parameters back into their original variables to the end of the
function call. This allows us to match the semantics listed the GLSL
spec in section 6.1.1:
"All arguments are evaluated at call time, exactly once, in order, from
left to right. [...] Evaluation of an out parameter results in an
l-value that is used to copy out a value when the function returns.
Evaluation of an inout parameter results in both a value and an l-value;
the value is copied to the formal parameter at call time and the lvalue
is used to copy out a value when the function returns."
This technique also allows us to support swizzled out-parameters in
Metal, by reading the swizzle into a temp variable, calling the original
function, and then re-assigning the result back into the original
swizzle expression.
At present, we don't deduplicate these helper functions, so in theory
there could be a fair amount of redundant code generated if a function
with out parameters is called many times in a row. The cost of properly
deduplicating them is probably larger than the benefit in the 99% case.

We will need to emit a helper function to work around this case, as
GLSL supports swizzled out params, but Metal does not. In this CL, we
do not yet synthesize the helper function, but we annotate the code with
a comment indicating affected calls. (Of course, this will be replaced
with a helper function in a followup CL)
Even detecting a swizzle is actually an interesting problem, because
index expressions are sometimes actually swizzles, depending on the type
of the base expression. Also, the index or swizzle might be nested in
several other valid assignable expressions.

Pointers require decorating the variable with a * to read back the
value, which the code generator did not properly handle. There was a
special case to add the * but it only supported assignment into the
variable, not reading back. References require no special decoration.
This change fixes compile errors in Functions.sksl with the "bar"
function. (This test marks `x` as an inout but never actually mutates
it.) It also allows us to remove a special-case workaround for `frexp`,
an intrinsic function which uses a reference for its out-parameter.
Additionally, this CL adds a non-inlining copy of "OutParams.sksl" to
the Metal test directory, as most of our tests which use out-parameters
end up inlining all the code, which hides these sorts of bugs.

It's not legal to use identifiers like "int" or "sampler" to name your
variables (or enums, or structs, etc.). SkSL will now report this as an
error instead of relying on the driver to catch this.
(Note that in some contexts, it might be legal by the spec to reuse a
name that you introduced yourself, depending on the scope. In practice,
this confuses Apple GLSL, so we shouldn't support it anyway.)
This caught several existing places in our code where we used the name
"sampler." These were never exposed to the driver (they were intrinsics
that we would replace during compilation) so they were harmless before.

The proper approach for creating multi-dimensional array types is
complicated, so I added a function in SymbolTable which does it the
right way (addArrayDimensions). I found all the places in SkSL which
created arrays from base types and size arrays, and refactored them to
call addArrayDimensions instead of doing it manually.
I believe that this approach fixes a bunch of minor issues with multi-
dimensional array types; some are visible in the current codegen output,
and others are latent bugs. e.g. in some instances, a Variable's type()
was silently holding flipped array dimensions, but this never led to
a visible bug because we ended up using the VarDeclaration's baseType()
plus sizes() everywhere that the type was used. (In particular, this
caused debugging headaches in http://review.skia.org/340137 where I'd
use a Variable's type and suddenly its array dimensions would be wrong.)

The Metal return type from main() diverges from the SkSL source, so we
patch it in the Metal code generator. This CL improves the patching
process in multiple ways:
- A `return` statement from a fragment processor main() is rewritten to:
return *_out;
- A `return` statement from a vertex processor main() is rewritten to:
return (_out->sk_Position.y = -_out->sk_Position.y, *_out);
- We avoid emitting a duplicate `return *_out;` statement if we can
determine that main() already ends in a return statement. This is
harmless either way so it doesn't necessarily catch everything. (e.g.
it doesn't detect an if/else which returns at the end of both blocks.)
Also added a unit test which returns from the middle of a vertex shader,
since we didn't test this anywhere and we need to verify that
sk_Position.y will be negated. (This didn't work properly before.)

This CL addresses the root cause of the fuzzer issue, by checking for
LayoutIsSupported before getting the MemoryLayout of a type. However,
this array ought to be detected as an error everywhere, as samplers are
opaque types; at present, this code compiles without error in GLSL and
Metal. This is an issue for followup CLs.
GLSL's actual support for arrays of samplers is interesting and probably
too nuanced for us to try to emulate:
https://www.khronos.org/opengl/wiki/Data_Type_(GLSL)#Opaque_arrays
"Under GLSL version 3.30, Sampler arrays (the only opaque type 3.30
provides) can be declared, but they can only be accessed by compile-time
integral Constant Expressions. So you cannot loop over an array of
samplers, no matter what the array initializer, offset and comparison

Previously, GLSL and Metal code generators would emit a struct wherever
the type was first used in the code, regardless of where it was
originally defined or what scope the type needs to live in. This CL adds
a ProgramElement for struct definitions, so that structs will now appear
at the top-level as they were originally defined. In the case of Metal,
some special handling is also needed to handle the Globals struct
properly.
Not yet fully supported:
- No special handling for structs declared inside functions yet
- No support for structs in separate scopes with overlapping names
The severity of the remaining issues depends mostly on whether we want
to support structs inside functions in Runtime Effects.

The fuzzer managed to create a test case which temporarily evaluates to
expression `half2(half(0.2)) + 2` as it is optimized. This requires a
bunch of temporary nonsense math as the IR Generator is attempting to
simplify as it goes; various attempts to remove terms from the fuzzer
test-case would cause it to stop reproducing the error.
Constructor::getVecComponent assumed that any constructor with a single
scalar argument would always implement `getConstantFloat` and
`getConstantInt`; however, constructors themselves did not actually
implement these methods. This meant that nesting a scalar constructor
inside a non-scalar constructor would abort when it tried to deduce the
value inside the inner constructor.
This has been fixed by implementing `getConstantFloat` and
`getConstantInt` for Constructors. These methods will assert if the
constructor has more than one argument or is a non-scalar type. This
should allow any number of nested constructors, e.g.
`half4(half(half(half(1))))` should recursively evaluate properly,
should we somehow generate this as an intermediate expression.

This was slightly complicated by the fact that this syntax indicates an
array with a known size:
float[] x = float[](1, 2, 3, 4);
Of course, the size is 4; it's just never explicitly stated in the
code. (The SkSL parser never actually deduces the size, but it doesn't
apparently have a need to; we don't do much in the way of optimization
for arrays.) However, this prevents us from simply failing whenever we
parse "[]" in non-builtin code; we need to keep scanning and see if the
variable is initialized. We already check this in the
ArrayConstructors.sksl test file.

This is a followup to http://review.skia.org/335196. This detects opaque
types (samplers and textures) at parsing or IR generation time and
reports an error regardless of backend. This check occurs before Metal
or SPIR-V would have a chance to detect the error, so it changes their
output to a slightly more focused error message. The Metal/SPIR-V fix in
the prior CL is still a nice broad catch-all for preventing spurious
ABORTs, though.

Previously, MemoryLayout would ABORT if it encountered any types that
we can't layout in memory (e.g. opaque types like samplers). Instead of
an abort, this case is now detected cleanly and an error is reported
identifying the offending type.
This should unwedge the fuzzer, which appears to be very
enthusiatically generating interface blocks with nonsense types inside.
(Note that code generators which don't actually try to compute a memory
layout--that is, GLSL--will still accept these types. This should still
be caught and reported as an error, since it's still illegal in GLSL,
but that's for a future CL.)

In a WebP image, it is possible to combine animation with an EXIF
orientation. While SkAndroidCodec attempts to handle orientation itself
by decoding into temporary memory and then drawing through a matrix,
this doesn't work directly when compositing a P-frame into a prior
frame. SkAnimatedImage already uses an SkMatrix to handle cropping and
scaling, so update that matrix to include the orientation.
Make SkAnimatedImage a friend of SkAndroidCodec. This allows the former
to have the same ExifOrientationBehavior specified by the latter, and to
recreate the latter so it does not try to handle the orientation itself.
Clip SkAnimatedImage to its bounds. Android's AnimatedImageDrawable
performs its own clip, but this makes a crop rect work for other
clients.
Update getCurrentFrame to take cropping, scaling, and orientation into
account. This method is used by CanvasKit, which does not use cropping
or scaling, but will now properly orient an animation with an EXIF
orientation.
Add a GM that exercises the various combinations of ways SkAnimatedImage
can be used:
- via newPictureSnapshot (as in Android) versus getCurrentFrame
- scaling down to a dimension that can be output from the
SkAndroidCodec, versus up, which SkAnimatedImage scales
- with a crop rect
- with a post processor

I was curious to try r22 out today and it needed these small tweaks,
which should be compatible with r21d. I'll hold off on the actual
upgrade until r22 is out of beta.
Builds using the NDK compilers (r21d or r22 both) don't even need the
remaining --sysroot flag, but keeping it lets GOMA builds using Chrome's
compilers keep working.

skslc can now take a `.worklist` file as an input, containing multiple
"command lines" to run in sequence. compile_sksl_tests.py now assembles
a worklist file and runs skslc one time, rather than running skslc
once per each target. This improves compile times on Windows
significantly (where spawning skslc hundreds of times is much more
expensive than on Linux/Mac).
One subtle behavioral difference with .worklist files: if an error is
encountered, it is written to the output file instead of to stdout.
Previously, compile_sksl_tests was in charge of for capturing stdout
and overwriting the compiler output with the error message, but this
doesn't work when many files are being compiled (which errors are
associated with which files?)
This refactor exposed a minor latent bug--when encountering an error,
skslc would previously exit() immediately without closing its
FileOutputStream. This led to an assertion when exit() was replaced with
normal returns. Since FileOutputStream is only used by skslc, and in
every case the desired behavior is just to close the stream cleanly,
FileOutputStream now closes the file in its destructor instead of
asserting that we haven't done so.

Intel's got two CPUID bits indicating the speed of rep mov/sto

- ERMS, Enhanced Rep Mov/Sto, older, large copies are fast?
- FSRM, Fast Short Rep Mov, newer, small copies are fast?
ERMS has been around a long time on Intel, but is relatively recent on
Ryzen, and FSRM is new across the board. The startup cost for
ERMS-but-not-FSRM copies really is noticeable, so we cut over to the
previous SSE/AVX routines when N is small.
I've left the memset benchmarks as I found them most useful when

assigned an oss-fuzz bug number yet; coming soon)
This puts an upper bound on struct nesting, again to prevent memory-
layout and other recursive type-handling code from overflowing the
stack. Coincidentally, while researching GLSL behavior around this bug,
I learned that WebGL has a similar limitation but caps nested structs to
4 deep. (I could not find any documented GLSL upper bound.)
Note that both the GLSL and Metal outputs for StructMaxDepth are badly
malformed. (Structs cannot be embedded within another struct in GLSL;
structs SA7 and below are never declared in GLSL; the array list for SA7
is backwards in GLSL; Metal is missing structs SA1 through SA8; Metal
puts the array list on the type instead of the variable name.)
These issues will be addressed in separate CLs.

We need to set some sort of limit here to avoid stack overflow. Eight
array dimensions seems like more than enough for any sort of code that
we might realistically need, but the limit is definitely flexible if we
wanted to increase it. (The fuzzer needed to generate a several-
hundred-dimensional array before encountering a crash.)

Interestingly, this fix also exposes a further missing optimization--we
optimize away comparisons of constant-vectors for floats, but fail to

Previously, when a prototype was parsed, this added a function
declaration to the symbol table, but the prototype itself was not
re-emitted during code generation. This meant that the final code might
not be valid, since the absence of prototypes meant that the code might
attempt to invoke a function before its declaration. Now, prototypes are
stored in the ProgramElement list and re-emitted during code generation
for GLSL/Metal/CPP. (SPIR-V doesn't name its functions at all.)

This change is a wash for tests that could fit inside the previous
hard-coded pool (512 nodes) and appears to be a 5% improvement for
sksl_large. Larger programs would hypothetically show an even more
significant improvement.
When SK_SUPPORT_GPU is disabled, we disable pooling entirely and fall
back to the system allocator. This is necessary because SkSL can exist
without Ganesh (such as in the wasm+CanvasKit build).

`func1` and `func2` emit bad code, `return %s()`, and because they don't
consume their `%s` format argument. This leaves the format argument list
unbalanced and all future args are wrong.
Another serious problem is that we don't actually know the names of the
functions that they need to call, because we haven't emitted them yet.
`func3` is not emitted at all. Sampling from a fragment processor
apparently fails in this context.
This is a more general case repro for skia:10684--it turns out that
recursion in particular wasn't the issue, but nested function calls just
don't work properly at all in FP files. This wasn't an issue in practice
because we don't have any existing FP files which nest function calls,
and the inliner also tends to aggressively flatten everything out if we
don't explicitly disable it.

entirely in http://review.skia.org/319029 but, in retrospect, it's still
a good idea for dm to verify that CPPCodeGen and HCodeGen can do their

the debugger in dm for testing CPP/H-specific code generation bugs.

In cases where multiple variables were declared on a single line, it is
legal for variable initialization-expressions to reference variables
declared earlier in the var-decl statement. It is NOT legal for the
inliner to move those references up to the previous statement, where the
variable doesn't exist yet.
This is mitigated by disabling the IRGenerator inliner for var-decls
past the first one in a var-decls statement. (The optimizer will still
pass over this code later and is able to inline it correctly, if it is
worth doing.)

Allocations are redirected by overriding `operator new` and `operator
delete` on the IRNode class. This allows us to use our existing
`unique_ptr` and `make_unique` calls as-is. The Pool class is simple;
it holds a fixed number of nodes and recycles them as they are returned.
A fixed pool size of 2000 nodes was chosen. That is large enough to hold
the contents of `sksl_large` during compilation, but it can be
overflowed by very large shaders, or if multiple programs are converted
at the same time. Exhausting the pool is not a problem; if this happens,
additional nodes will be allocated via the system allocator as usual.
More elaborate schemes are possible but might not add a lot of value.
Thread safety is accomplished by placing the pool in a `thread_local`
static during a Program's creation and destruction; the pool is freed
when the program is destroyed. One important consequence of this
strategy is that a program must free every node that it allocated during
its creation, or else the node will be leaked. In debug, leaking a node
will be detected and causes a DEBUGFAIL. In release, the pool will be
freed despite having a live node in it, and if that node is later freed,
that pointer will be passed to the system `free` (which is likely to
cause a crash).
In this CL, iOS does not support pooling, since support for
`thread_local` was only added on iOS 9. This is fixed in the followup
CL, http://review.skia.org/328837, which uses pthread keys on iOS.

For clarity, this renames skif::Mapping::Make to skif::Mapping::DecomposeCTM
to really emphasize when it should be used over just a constructor.
Renames SampleBackdropBounds to SampleFilterBounds since the operations and
coordinate spaces that it visualizes are the same for regular or backdrop
filtering (we just swap the notion of src and dst devices, really).
Technically, this is not quite true yet since regular filtering modifies the
DAG with a matrix transform right now, but that's going away soon (tm).
The "new" SampleFilterBounds example is updated to use the new bounds APIs
that use the coord-space safe types in the skif namespace. It also visualizes
a filter, and simplifies some of the bounds being drawn and reported to
only those most interesting.
The SampleImageFilterDAG has been updated to match the soon-to-be state
of how SkCanvas processes regular image filters for a saveLayer. All
implicit matrix-transform node code is removed. The bounds calculation
code is similarly updated to use the new 'skif' types and functions. To
simplify the visualization of each node, the 'isolated' versions of the
bounds were dropped.

As a prelude to going back to sharing global data (safely), we want to
eliminate as much mutation of shared state as possible. The special
cases for global variable declaration were unnecessary, so just remove
them. The editing of main's parameters immediately after they were
created is also unnecessary - just hoist the logic up so we create the
variables correctly in the first place.
There is still one use, related to invocation ID. That's more
complicated (?), so leaving it as a separate CL.

SkImageFilters::Paint did not use every slot of the SkPaint, with only
its color, alpha, color filter, and shader having a meaningful effect on
the image filter result. It was always blended into a transparent dst,
so blend mode wasn't very relevant, and it was always filled to whatever
required geometry, so stroke style, path effect, and mask filters were
ignored or not well specified.
Color, alpha, and color filter can all be combined into an SkShader, so
a more constrained SkImageFilters::Shader provides the same useful
capabilities without as many surprises.
SkImageFilters::Paint still exists, but is deprecated to be removed
once I've confirmed clients aren't depending on it.

Part of this change is to move some of this static format information
off of GrCaps since it is not cap dependent in anyway. This allows us
to the need for caps in many places. Also changes the low level format
query to be based off of bytes per block so it can be shared for
compressed and non compressed formats.
This change will also make it easier to add stencil/depth formats in
follow on change since we don't have to fill in a whole caps
FormatInfo block just so we can get the bytesPerPixel which is all
they need.

If SkSL is able to completely eliminate the ternary (e.g. if it boils
down to a simple `true ? x : y` or `false ? x : y`), SkSL can strip out
the ternary entirely and generate valid GLSL. This case is harmless and
so it is still allowed.

We now support building an SkSL golden output twice, once honoring the
custom #pragma settings, and once more ignoring the settings. This
allows us to see the output of the workaround technique, alongside the
"default-settings" output which should not contain a workaround.
To implement this, skslc now supports a flag: --[no]settings.
When it's set, /*#pragma settings*/ comments are honored. When it's not
set, skslc ignores the comments. compile_sksl_tests.py passes this flag
along to skslc.
This approach is not strictly limited to workarounds; the
"TypePrecision" GLSL test was also updated to use this technique.

As a result of this change, the new GrClipStack will run on all of our
default bots. However, the SK_DISABLE_NEW_GR_CLICK_STACK define is used
to explicitly disable the clip stack when we build for the Android
Framework, Google3, Flutter, and Fuchsia. These projects can have staging
controlled from within the skia repo. This CL in chromium also disables
the new clip stack: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/2412768
and must land before this CL does in Skia.
When GrClipStack originally landed, I had it disabled by checking the
value of the define SK_USE_NEW_GR_CLICK_STACK for 0 or 1. To be a little
simpler, and work with the flutter and fuchsia gn defines, this CL
switches GrClipStack control over to SK_DISABLE_NEW_GR_CLICK_STACK and
it just checks for whether or not it's defined.

Overview doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ddIk74A1rL5Kj5kGcnInOYKVAXs3J2IsSgU5BLit0Ng/edit?usp=sharing
This is the new clip stack that will replace GrClipStackClip. The doc
link in the CL description has a much more detailed overview of what the
strategy of the new clip stack is, but at a very high level:
1. Add a temporary #define that lets SkGpuDevice switch between the old
stack and the new stack. For the new GrClipStack, it extends SkBaseDevice
directly and has to implement all of the device clipping virtuals.
- If you look from patchset 5 and earlier, the define defaults to on
so I can test it on the bots, etc. but the plan will be for it to
default to off when this lands so it's only running on unit tests.
Then in a follow up, I'll turn it on for our bots but keep it off in
chrome and android. If everything looks good, chrome can then be
turned on. There is a more extensive migration plan for android
because of the expanding clip ops, but that is covered at the end of
the overview doc.
2. GrClipStack manages save/restore logic of the stack and extends GrClip,
so the cpp file also includes code to apply a GrAppliedClip. At the moment
the apply strategy is as close to that in GrReducedClip and
GrClipStackClip as I could make it. Down the road, I think we can explore
other analytic coverage options and a clip atlas that replaces the unified
SW mask.
- Once GrClipStack is enabled everywhere, it means GrReducedClip and
GrClipStackClip can be deleted, so I'm not too worried about sharing
code between the two. A lot is already shared through the use of
GrSWMaskHelper and GrStencilMaskHelper.
- SkClipStack and SkClipStackDevice are still used by the PDF and SVG
backends, so they aren't necessarily deletable.
3. The GrClipStack only handles intersect and difference ops. It
represents all geometric clip operations as an element. The stack itself
is controlled by the "save record", which tracks aggregate bounds, valid
elements, and the non-geometric clip shader.
- When a new save record is pushed on the stack, older elements are
inactive. This means they cannot be modified, since they may need to
be activated again when the current save is popped off the stack.
However, they can still affect the clip during application.
- When a new element is pushed on the stack, older elements may be
invalidated. This means they don't need to be considered any more
because they are redundant with the new clip shape (e.g. nested round
rect clips only have to keep the innermost valid).

On Windows, the process output contains CRLF sequences. Calling
splitlines() recognizes those (Python universal line endings), so we get
a list of the output lines. Joining those with '\n' produces a string
that just has LF. (We add another one, so we still end the file with a

Our lack of proper caps-bits controls in skslc affects the outcome of
one test: "InlinerWrapsEarlyReturnsWithDoWhileBlock" does not actually
emit the do-while block because the standalone caps bits don't enable
do-while support. This will be fixed in a followup CL that adds caps-bit
support to our tests.
A few tests were renamed for consistency, a few were simplified slightly
and one test was removed because it was simply redundant (there was a
second test that covered the exact same ground as
`ForWithReturnInsideCannotBeInlined`).

For the longest time, the libfuzzer binaries used by oss-fuzz
were just hacked onto the BUILD.gn file. This removes that patch
and makes them buildable from Skia proper.
After this, there should not be any modifications oss-fuzz needs
to do to a Skia checkout before it builds and runs.
Of note, oss-fuzz will define skia_use_libfuzzer_defaults to be
false so it can control those flags with more finesse (e.g.
fuzz with ASAN, fuzz with hong fuzz instead of libfuzzer). I
added on skia_use_libfuzzer_defaults so that a normal developer
gets something that works by default.

The following conditions lead to the error:
- A pair of nested functions, both of which must be inlined.
- Both inlined functions create a variable with the same name.
- The outer function passes its variable to the inner function.
- The initialization of the inner variable uses the value from the outer
variable.
- The inner function does not mutate the variable, use it as an out-
parameter, or otherwise cause it to receive a temporary copy.
When all these conditions are met, both variable declarations are
inlined as-is without performing any name salting, because it's
seemingly safe to do so. The name overlap issue is not considered in the
safety checks. Inlined variable declarations are not subject to name
salting but they should be; I suspect other adversarial examples could
be crafted as well where unhandled name overlap leads to errors.

Golden SkSL outputs are intended to eventually replace the majority of
our unit tests, since they can automatically update themselves when we
change implementation details of the compiler.
If you change the compiler output without updating the Golden files, the
CheckGeneratedFiles housekeeper will be triggered. Set
`skia_compile_processors` or `skia_compile_sksl_tests` to true in your
GN args to regenerate them.
Almost all of the tests from SkSLFPTests.cpp and SkSLGLSLTests.cpp can
be migrated into separate unit-test .fp/.sksl files in a followup CL.

This sample attempts to re-create an image's alpha channel by drawing it
one pixel at a time and timing how long each pixel takes to draw.
The "abc" text should appear twice normally, and the third and fourth
versions are reconstructed from timing, one by timing 1:1 pixel draws,
the other by timing 1x1:1024x1024 upscale into an offscreen. It's not
meant to be an exact reconstruction, but you can easily see the shapes,
particularly at -O0, -O1, and -Os. Auto-vectorization from -O2/-O3 do
a good amount to cover up the problem.
The legacy CPU backend is the main place to look. I haven't been able
to reconstruct any images using SkRasterPipelineBlitter or SkVMBlitter,
and while on the GPU I do see non-random patterns in the timing, it
appears to be the same single pattern across devices, OSes, GPUs, GPU
APIs and content... I assume it's something like our resource caching
policy.
This can't really be a GM, given how it draws non-deterministically.

SkYUVAPixmaps is a collection of SkPixmaps that are valid for a

The 'pts' coordinates should be transformed by the view matrix. We could
instead apply the inverse src rotation to ptsRot when determining the
perpendicular and parallel scales, but this is valid and straight
forward.
When determining the device segment lengths in onPrepare, we do need to
transform the ptsRot by fSrcInvRot (which includes the view matrix),
instead of just the view matrix.
This fixes the linked chromium bug, which drew a wider stroked dash
because on a perfect vertical, the rotation to a canonical x-axis
geometry would end up swapping perpendicular and parallel scale factors.

Explanation: The sksl standalone compiler is used to convert the raw
(text) SkSL pre-includes into a "dehydrated" binary format. It also
(previously) depended on those files, as they were #included and used,
unless a special #define was changed. This created a dependency cycle
that we hid from GN (by lying about the outputs of the dehydrate step).
As a result, builds would never reach steady-state, because the compiler
would be rebuilt (due to the newer dehydrated files), and then the
dehydrated files would be rebuilt (due to the newer compiler).
This CL changes the logic so that the standalone compiler always uses
the textual pre-includes, and no longer depends on the dehydrated binary
files. Thus, to make any kind of change to the dehydrated files (whether
due to pre-include changes, or the encoding format itself), you just
need skia_compile_processors enabled. The dependencies are now honestly
communicated to GN, and we reach steady state after one build.
The NOTE above is because GN/ninja cache the dependencies of each
target, and will still think that the SkSLCompiler.obj linked into the
standalone compiler depends on the dehydrated files, at least until one
successful build, when it will realize that's no longer true.
Reland notes:
The bots originally rejected this CL, because SkSLCompiler was
hard-coded to load the text files from a relative path that assumed the
executable was in "<skia_checkout>/out/<some_dir>". That's not true for
bots, and it was fragile, even for users. Now, we use GN to directly
generate sksl_fp.sksl, and copy all of the other pre-includes to the
root out dir (working directory when running skslc). This means we
no longer need to generate the sksl_fp.sksl file into the src tree, and
the compiler can more safely assume that the files will be in the
working directory.

This will allow Skia clients developing for Android 11+ to rely on
Android's NDK APIs for decoding, which will allow them to decode
without including their own decoding libraries (e.g. libjpeg-turbo).
Using these APIs also provides support for static HEIF images.
Run ImageGenSrc in kPlatform_Mode on Android to verify decoding
visually.
Add tests and a grayscale png.
Update some test bots running Android R to specify ndk_api so they will

The oss-fuzz build of Skia seems to have difficulty when it does too
many linker steps at a time. Ninja will generally not launch new build
steps if the load is too high, but the oss-fuzz builder machines are
slow enough that the load doesn't seem to rise fast enough to prevent
too many linkers from be started at a time.
By default this change does not request a linker pool at all and the
user must request one by setting the link_pool_depth. Negative values
disable the linker pool, zero sets the number to the number of cpus, and
positive values set the pool size. This should allow for some
experimentation while testing what pool size is appropriate for the fuzz
builders while not changing current default behavior.
