Vars without initialisers don't need to allocate a VariableProxy, as the
proxy expression is not really needed for anything. So, we can special
case declaration parsing to look ahead for a '=' (plus a few other
cases), and skip the variable proxy allocation if it isn't there.
As a side-effect, variables that are only declared but never used are
no longer marked is_used, and thus not allocated. This saves on
generating dead code.

Declare Variables with a name and position, rather than by passing

for things like function declarations, and allows us to consider those
declarations unused.
As a side-effect, we also have to check if a variable is unused in the
bytecode generator (as it will no longer be allocated), and we end up
skip generating code/SFIs for dead variables/functions.

Emit a single destructuring assignment for destructuring declarations,
which can be desugared by the bytecode generator. This allows us to
remove destructuring desugaring from the parser (specifically, the
pattern rewriter) entirely.
The pattern "rewriter" is now only responsible for walking the
destructuring pattern to declare variables, mark them assigned, and
potentially rewrite scopes for the edge case of parameters with a sloppy
eval.
Note that since the rewriter is no longer rewriting, we have to flip the
VariableProxy copying logic for var re-lookup, so that we now pass the
new VariableProxy to the variable declaration and leave the original
unresolved (rather than passing the original through and rewriting to a
new unresolved VariableProxy).
This change does have some effect on breakpoint locations, due to some
of the available information changing between the parser and bytecode
generator, however the new locations appear to be more consistent
between assignments and declarations.

This replaces Runtime_RunMicrotasks with Runtime_PerformMicrotaskCheckpoint.
RunMicrotasks forcibly runs Microtasks even when the microtasks are suppressed,
and may causes nested Microtasks in a problematic way. E.g. that confuses
v8::MicrotasksScope::IsRunningMicrotasks() and GetEnteredOrMicrotaskContext().
OTOH, PerformMicrotaskCheckpoint() doesn't run cause the failure as it
respects the microtask suppressions.
As all existing tests don't call RunMicrotasks() in the suppressed situation
(like Promise.resolve().then(()=>{%RunMicrotasks();})), this change should
not affect to these tests.

Many parts of the old JS implementation are preserved, because
TypedArray.p.join still relies on it. These will be removed once
TypedArray.p.join is ported to Torque.
To simplify implementation, special handling of extremely sparse arrays
has been removed.
Performance improvements vary by array size, elements, and sparse-ness.

This change introduces new intrinsics used to desugar async functions
in the Parser and the BytecodeGenerator, namely we introduce a new
%_AsyncFunctionEnter intrinsic that constructs the generator object
for the async function (and in the future will also create the outer
promise for the async function). This generator object is internal
and never escapes to user code, plus since async functions don't have
a "prototype" property, we can just a single map here instead of tracking
the prototype/initial_map on every async function. This saves one word
per async function plus one initial_map per async function that was
invoked at least once.
We also introduce two new intrinsics %_AsyncFunctionReject, which
rejects the outer promise with the caught exception, and another
%_AsyncFunctionResolve, which resolves the outer promise with the
right hand side of the `return` statement. These functions also perform
the DevTools part of the job (aka popping from the promise stack and
sending the debug event). This allows us to get rid of the implicit
try-finally from async functions completely; because the finally
block only called to the %AsyncFunctionPromiseRelease builtin, which
was used to inform DevTools.
In essence we now turn an async function like
```js
async function f(x) { return await bar(x); }
```
into something like this (in Parser and BytecodeGenerator respectively):
```
function f(x) {
.generator_object = %_AsyncFunctionEnter(.closure, this);
.promise = %AsyncFunctionCreatePromise();
try {
.tmp = await bar(x);
return %_AsyncFunctionResolve(.promise, .tmp);
} catch (e) {
return %_AsyncFunctionReject(.promise, e);
}
}
```
Overall the bytecode for async functions gets significantly shorter
already (and will get even shorter once we put the outer promise into
the async function generator object). For example the bytecode for a
simple async function
```js
async function f(x) { return await x; }
```
goes from 175 bytes to 110 bytes (a ~38% reduction in size), which
is in particular due to the simplification around the try-finally
removal.
Overall this seems to improve the doxbee-async-es2017-native test by
around 2-3%. On the test case mentioned in v8:8276 we go from
1124ms to 441ms, which corresponds to a 60% reduction in total
execution time!

Create LdaNamedPropertyNoFeedback and StaNamedPropertyNoFeedback
for one-shot property loads and stores. This CL replaces the runtime
calls with new bytecodes for named property load stores in one-shot code.
the runtime calls needed extra set of consecutive registers and
additional move instructions. This increased the size of
bytecode-array and possibly extended the life time of objects.
By replacing them with NoFeedback bytecodes we avoid these issues.

For a script '()=>42', the anonymous arrow function has both start and
end position the same as the script function itself. This causes issues
when sorting the SourcePositionEvents of the function, in two ways:
* If the start positions are the same, we should order by *furthest*
end position to ensure the stack is in the right order
* If both start and end are the same, we need to order by function
literal id to make sure that start order and end order are inversed.
Also, MapLiterals assumes that start+end position uniquely identifies a
function, which is false in this case, so we process the top-level
script function separately in MapLiterals.

SharedFunctionInfos store their original function literal's id. This is
also their index in the Script's SFI list.
Since the function literal id is only needed for lazy compilation and live
edit, we can calculate it on-the-fly by linear search in the Script SFI list,
and save a field on the SFI.
If this regresses compile performance, we could alternatively store the
function literal id on the preparsed scope data as future work.

Currently, we context allocate all parameters for generators.
With this CL, we keep arguments on stack (unless they escape to inner
closure) and copy them between the stack and the generator's register
file on suspend/resume. This will save context allocation in most cases.
Note: There is an asymmetry between suspend and resume.
- Suspend copies arguments and registers to the generator.
- Resume copies only the registers from the generator, the arguments

There are likely cleanups that can be done after this CL:
- context-related functions in the interpreter and compiler take ScopeInfo as
well as ScopeType and slot-count as input. The latter 2 should be directly
derived from the former. We should be able to drop FunctionContextParameters.
- ContextExtension is probably not needed anymore, since we now always have the
correct scope_info directly in the SCOPE_INFO_INDEX slot.

This CL demonstrates minimum valuable addition to existing debug evaluate
without side effects mechanism.
With this CL user can evaluate expressions like:
[a,b] // create any kind of temporary array literals
[a,b].reduce((x,y) => x + y, 0); // use reduce method
[1,2,3].fill(2); // change temporary arrays
The core idea: any change of the object created during evaluation without
side effects is side effect free. As soon as we try to store this temporary
object to object existed before evaluation we will terminate execution.
Implementation:
- track all objects allocated during evaluation and mark them as temporary,
- patch all bytecodes which change objects.

The catch prediction logic got confused when we merged the reactions and
result fields of JSPromise, because for settled promises it would start
to treat the result as reactions list, leading to a crash most likely or
memory corruption in the worst case (only if break on uncaught exception
is enabled). We can only inspect reactions when the promise is still in
"pending" state.

- All testcase/testsuite/variant generator subclasses renamed to
just TestCase/TestSuite/VariantGenerator since they're private
implementation.
- All `testcase` variables renamed to `test` to not conflict with
a module name.
- No more two statements in the same line.
- Removed some unused testsuite methods.

When preparsing top-level functions in a module, we didn't track
unresolved variables. Consequently, "this" ended up referencing
the global "this", which has the wrong value (in a module "this"
is supposed to be the undefined value).
This patch fixes that. This also lets us stop forcing context
allocation of all variables in module scopes, which the patch

This fixes debug-evaluate in the presence of a de-materialized function
object. The creation of an arguments object is now requested based on a
given frame (potentially inlined) instead of a target function. It makes
sure that multiple calls to {StandardFrame::Summarize} don't cause any
confusion when they give back non-identical function objects.

This CL removes the weak-list of JS functions from the context
and all the code that iterares over it. This list was being used
mainly during deoptimization (for code unlinking) and during
garbage collection. Removing it will improve performance of
programs that create many closures and trigger many scavenge GC
cycles.
No extra work is required during garbage collection. However,
given that we no longer unlink code from JS functions during
deoptimization, we leave it as it is, and on its next activation
we check whether the mark_for_deoptimization bit of that code is
set, and if it is, than we unlink it and jump to lazy compiled
code. This check happens in the prologue of every code object.
We needed to change/remove the cctests that used to check
something on this list.
Working in x64, ia32, arm64, arm, mips64 and mips.

This adds support for lowering {JSCreateArguments} within outermost

enable escape analysis to work with such objects and allow for further
optimization.
This also adds a new {NewMappedArgumentsElements} simplfied operator.
Note that escape analysis support for this new operator will be done as

My goal was to move breakpoint API to native with minimal changes around, so on inspector side we use v8::debug::BreakpointId instead of String16, on v8::internal::Debug we use i::BreakPoint object instead of break point object created inside of debug.js.
There are a lot of opportunities how we can improve breakpoints (at least we can avoid some of linear lookups to speedup implementation) but I think that as first step we need to remove mirrors/debug.js APIs.
Drive by: debugger-script.js and usage of debugger context in inspector code base.

This adds support to materialize objects when generating a frame summary
for an optimized frame via {OptimizedFrame::Summarize}. Note that this
means each summary might re-materialize objects and hence produce new
object identities every time. All use sites need to be able to cope with
such semantics.

Also fix one apparently-harmless bug in the Parser where we failed
to Finalize an empty scope. Without this fix, the DCHECK fails
on any C-style for-loop with a lexical binding that hits the
fast path (this is well-covered by many existing tests in mjsunit).

- No longer hold global state (with

Nop bytecodes are required only for break locations in debugger. Since nop bytecode doesn't change program state we can remove all of them.
There are at least two changes which this CL produce:
- we don't provide break position when we load local variable (still provide when load variable from global),
- we don't provide break position for statements without actual break positions (e.g. "a;") - these expressions should be super rare and user always can set breakpoint before or after this statement.

Goal of this CL: explicit return from non-async function has position after
return expression as return position (will unblock [1]).
BytecodeArrayBuilder has SetStatementPosition and SetExpressionPosition methods.
If one of these methods is called then next generated bytecode will get passed
position. It's general treatment for most cases.
Unfortunately it doesn't work for Returns:
- debugger requires source positions exactly on kReturn bytecode in stepping
implementation,
- BytecodeGenerator::BuildReturn and BytecodeGenerator::BuildAsyncReturn
generates more then one bytecode and general solution will put return position
on first generated bytecode,
- it's not easy to split BuildReturn function into two parts to allow something
like following in BytecodeGenerator::VisitReturnStatement since generated
bytecodes are actually controlled by execution_control().
..->BuildReturnPrologue();
..->SetReturnPosition(stmt);
..->Return();
In this CL we pass ReturnStatement through ExecutionControl and use it for
position when we emit return bytecode right here.
So this CL only will improve return position for returns inside of non-async
functions, I'll address async functions later.

In https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/472247/, I avoided
running DesugarLexicalBindingsInForStatement() if there were no lexical
loop variables, the function was not resumable, and the variables are
not captured by eval or a function declaration.
I think it's now possible to limit this further, and only do the more
extensive desugaring if there's a function declaration / eval() call
in the loop body. `yield` and `await` are not an issue as those loop
variables are written to the register file and not lost.
This change just removes the `is_resumable()` condition. If it passes
tests, I think it's safe.

The `FAST_` prefix doesn’t make much sense — they’re all just different cases
with their own optimizations. Packedness being implicit (e.g. `FAST_ELEMENTS`
vs. `FAST_HOLEY_ELEMENTS`) is not ideal, either.
This patch renames the FAST elements kinds as follows:
- e.g. FAST_ELEMENTS => PACKED_ELEMENTS
- e.g. FAST_HOLEY_ELEMENTS => HOLEY_ELEMENTS
The following exceptions are left intact, for lack of a better name:
- FAST_SLOPPY_ARGUMENTS_ELEMENTS
- SLOW_SLOPPY_ARGUMENTS_ELEMENTS
- FAST_STRING_WRAPPER_ELEMENTS
- SLOW_STRING_WRAPPER_ELEMENTS
This makes it easier to reason about elements kinds, and less confusing to
explain how they’re used.

This removes the --turbo flag and solely relies on the filter pattern
provided via --turbo-filter when deciding whether to use TurboFan. Note
that disabling optimization wholesale can still be done with --no-opt,
which should be used in favor of --no-turbo everywhere.
Also note that this contains semantic changes to the TurboFan activation
criteria. We respect the filter pattern more stringently and no longer
activate TurboFan just because the source contains patterns forcing use
of Ignition via {AstNumberingVisitor::DisableFullCodegenAndCrankshaft}.

Benefits (see test for details):
- only one break in expressions which includes mix of property lookup and calls, e.g. var p = Promise.resolve().then(x => x * 2),
- removed redundant break location for expressions like: let { x, y } = { x: 1, y: 2}.

This CL improves break locations for expressions like 'var a = <expr>'. Without CL we use <expr> position as break location for initialization statement, with this CL we use position of first character after '=' as position.
Benefits (see test for details):
- only one break in expressions which includes mix of property lookup and calls, e.g. var p = Promise.resolve().then(x => x * 2),
- removed redundant break location for expressions like: let { x, y } = { x: 1, y: 2}.

In particular, local variables should be allocated on stack (in bytecode register), and stored/loaded to the generator object on generator suspend/resume.
The CL is based on @adamk's change to scoping/parsers (https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/498538/), I only made the debugger cope with this change.
I should note that the CL changes the scope type of suspended generators from ScopeType.Closure to ScopeType.Local. In the future we might want to introduce ScopeType.SuspendedGenerator to make the distinction explicit.
Some of the changes in the tests have been made because the debugger functions do not return scopes of closed generators anymore. Generators should be allowed to throw away their internal state when they finish.

There are two break locations at the same source location by desugaring:
- call iterator.next,
- before variable assignment.
Additionally location for for..of loops is moved from before "of" to before each variable expression.
We should not report first implicit call to avoid user confusion. User still able to go into .next function with both scenarios:
- when this call is reached by stepOver or stepInto from previous line,
- when this call is reached because of breakpoint at current line.

This avoids emitting redundant {PopContext} bytecode instructions when
non-local control-flow leaves the method body. It also folds multiple
such {PopContext} instructions into one, in case several scoping levels
are crossed at one. Only the expected context of the target of a local
control-flow transfer matters.

This mechanism ensures APIs like wasm async complete their work,
without requiring use of natives (%APIs).
The mechanism is similar to the one used in content_shell,
which should allow us to easily port tests in that environment.

1. Replaces --crankshaft with --opt in tests.
2. Also fixes presubmit to check for --opt flag when
assertOptimized is used.
3. Updates testrunner/local/variants.py and
v8_foozie.py to use --opt flag.
This would mean, nooptimize variant means there are
no optimizations. Not even with %OptimizeFunctionOnNextCall.
