ea463a916b [es6] Object.getPrototypeOf should work with values
The final spec for Object.getPrototypeOf calls ToObject on the
parameter, which means that it should only throw for null and
undefined. For other non object values the prototype of the wrapper
should be used.

3c3ce1bca8 Parser: Fix crash on stack overflow when lazy-parsing arrow functions
The problem manifests itself when parsing manages to return something
meaningful in the presence of a stack overflow. This happens because
calling ParserBase::Next() will still return one valid token on stack
overflow, before starting to return invalid tokens.

Take the following input as example:

        a.map(v => v + 1);
              | |
       already next token
parsed (which will be an invalid token
(identifier) because of a stack overflow)

The "v" may have been already parsed into a VariableProxy, then if a
stack overflow occurs, next token will be an invalid token (instead
of Token::ARROW), but the parser will return the VariableProxy.

This always happens when lazy-parsing arrow functions, so the position
in the input stream where the the arrow function code ends is known.
This fix adds a check that ensures that parsing ended at the end
position of the arrow function.

b7dc9c580a [turbofan] Remember types for deoptimization during simplified lowering.
With this change, we remember the types of frame state inputs (in a new
operator, called TypedStateValues). Instead of inferring the value types
when building translations, we used the recorded types.

The original approach was not reliable because the passes after
simplified lowering can change node types, and this in turn confuses
the translation builder.

35c3d47e88 Vector ICs: Clear the vector ic slots appropriately during debugging.
When the debugger is active, a host of connected functions get an associated
DebugInfo structure, and their code is copied. The debugger uses the original
code to occasionally patch ICs with their initial value. Although IC learning
can occur, it's thrown away often, depending on the constellation of
breakpoints active or deactivating. Finally, feedback is discarded when the
debugger is turned off.

The type feedback vector needs to be brought into line with this behavior, so
now the debugger clears it's IC slots at appropriate bottlenecks in debug.cc.

45e4a78911 Contribution of PowerPC port (continuation of 422063005) - uplevel
Contribution of PowerPC port (continuation of 422063005,
817143002,866843003, and 901083004). This patch updates
the ppc directories to make them current with changes in
common code as of today.

We had to exclude the test test-serialize/SerializeInternalReference
until we agree on the right way to add those changes for PPC as
outlined in the description in the google doc provided earlier.

We also had to exclude a couple of other tests due to new
failures seen since the last uplevel. We excluded as opposed
to waiting until we could investigate to maximize the chance
of getting PPC compiling in the google repos before new
breaking changes are made.

I'll note that before applying any of our changes the
mozilla part of quickcheck was already broken when using
the lastest repo content so I had to run without that

dcb502a4ee [turbofan] Only reduce inline %DeoptimizeNow.
This makes sure only the %_DeoptimizeNow intrinsic is inlined, and
not the %DeoptimizeNow one. It hence re-establishes the invariant
that JSIntrinsicLowering only deals with inline intrinsics.

f6cd009efd ES6: Make function name configurable
Function name property is now standardized in ES6. It was a Mozilla proprietary
extension before. With ES6, the property was made configurable, so that it can
be used instead of another proprietary property, displayName.

This is a revert of revert c791d84112.

Last time this broke a Chrome browser test which has since been updated:

Contribution of PowerPC port (continuation of 422063005, 817143002,
866843003, and 901083004. This patch updates the ppc directories
to make them current with changes in common code, removes the
optimization to use the ool constant pool, and excludes tests that
don't pass under the ppc simulator given a 240s timeout.

Subsequent patches will cover:
   - remaining optimizations for PPC
   - remaining AIX changes not resolved by 4.8 compiler (4.8 is only recently available for AIX)
   - incremental updates required to ppc directories due to platform specific changes made
in google repos while we complete the above steps.

1eddcf5b71 [strong] Declaration-after-use errors.
We cannot yet detect use-before-declaration in general, because for that we'd
need to analyze the context when compiling. But we can detect an error case
where we first see a use, then a declaration.

For this, I also added end position tracking (needed for error messages) to
VariableProxy.

Note: the position naming is completely inconsistent: start_position &
end_position, position & end_position, pos & end_pos, beg_pos & end_pos, to name
a few. This doesn't fix all of it, but tries to unify towards start_position &
end_position whenever possible w/ minimal changes.

a18b797fd9 Enable compiling mjsunit tests as ES6 modules
Adding the line "// MODULE" to an mjsunit file will now cause
run-tests.py to prefix the test case with "--module" in the

d8 has itself been updated to treat files preceded with "--module" as
modules (that is, it compiles them with ScriptCompiler::CompileModule,
and turns on --harmony-modules).

We incorrectly disallowed eval and arguments in accessor and method

f1ba8d8f86 Contribution of PowerPC port (continuation of 422063005) - AIX Common1
Contribution of PowerPC port (continuation of 422063005 and 817143002). This patch covers
the key changes needed to the common files needed to support AIX. Subsequent
patches will cover:
- changes to update the ppc directories so they are current with the changes
in the rest of the project.
- remaining AIX changes not resolved by 4.8 compiler
- individual optimizations for PPC

This is based off of the GitHub repository

b004b1d821 Move object literal checking into checker classes
This removes the duplicate property check from object literals.

Instead we repurpose the ObjectLiteralChecker into two cases, implemented
by two subclasses to ObjectLiteralCheckerBase called ObjectLiteralChecker
and ClassLiteralChecker.

The object literal checker now only checks for duplicate __proto__ fields in
object literals.

The class literal checker checks for duplicate constructors, non constructor
fields named constructor as well as static properties named prototype.

91b87e7a28 Do not create unresolved variables when parsing arrow functions lazily
Arrow function parameter lists are parsed as expressions. When an identifier
is found a VariableProxy is created and added to the list of unresolved
variables for the scope. When parsing a function lazily, the scope has been
already resolved, so with this patch only the VariableProxy is created,
without adding it as an unresolved variable in the scope.

aeb3a71740 Begin modernization of --harmony-modules
The approach taken in this CL is to incrementally move toward the
currently-specced version of modules in ES6. The biggest change in this
patch is separating the parsing of modules from the parsing of scripts,
getting rid of the 'module' keyword and thus disallowing modules-in-scripts
as well as modules-in-modules.

The syntax supported by import/export declarations has not yet been significantly
changed, with the major exception being that import declarations require a string
as the 'from' part.

Most of the existing tests have been disabled, with a first new test added
in cctest/test-parsing.

feffccca22 Profiler improvements
(1) --prof-cpp: Collects ticks like --prof, but ignores code creation events to reduce distortion (so all JS ticks will be "unaccounted"). Useful for profiling C++ code.
(2) --timed-range flag for tick processor: Ignores ticks before the first and after the last call to Date.now(). Useful for focusing on the timed section of a test.

d962c092f3 Revert of [turbofan] Fix bunch of tests failing with --turbo-deoptimization. (patchset #1 id:1 of https://codereview.chromium.org/786333004/)
Reason for revert:
This changes layout test expectations. I ran a bisect over the layout tests:

Bad:
http://build.chromium.org/p/client.v8/builders/V8-Blink%20Linux%2032/builds/1600

Good:
http://build.chromium.org/p/client.v8/builders/V8-Blink%20Linux%2032/builds/1599

If this is intentional please first land a CL with manualrebaseline test expectations for the changed tests and then reland.

e5184734b3 Another attempt to fix regress-crbug-178790.

obviously doesn't give us that much stack, anyway.

54570cfa74 PPC aftermath: Fix regress-crbug-178790.
The test fails on XP only, so let's tentatively raise the stack limit more. We probably need to investigate what a tighter limit might be and (more importantly) what the underlying reason for the failure is.

Hopefully 1800kB is enough, we can't test this via try jobs, because we don't have XP try bots. :-/

978f41a1da RegExpParser: Fix Reset()ting to the end.
The bug would occur when we try to Reset() to a position already at the end.

This happens e.g., when the regexp ends with \u. What used to happen in that
case: 1) Advance past \ and u (to the end) (which wouldn't increase next_pos_
enough) 2) Try to parse 4 hex digits 3) When that failed, Reset() to the
position which should've been at the end but wasn't.

To be able to properly Reset() to a position at the end, we need to allow
next_pos_ to move beyond the end (since position() is next_pos_ - 1).

Minimal repro case:

var r = /foo\u/
r.test("foou") // should be true, was false.

(Note that \u not followed by 4 hex didits should be interpreted as an identity
escape. It already worked unless \u was at the end of the regexp.)

4fa7ae1c07 Optimize Object.seal and Object.preventExtensions
They both now run fast (due to utilizing transitions instead of always
creating new maps) and sealed or non-extensible objects can stay in
fast mode after transitioning.

This almost entirely reuses the code for transitioning objects
frozen by Object.freeze(), with the added benefit of freeing
up a bit on the map (we no longer keep track of frozen-ness,
as that bit wasn't used for anything interesting).

9da4998204 Abort optimization in corner case.
The %OptimizeFunctionOnNextCall sledgehammer can cause a function to be
marked for optimization before it's ever been compiled by fullcode.
This can lead to the situation where a function doesn't have optimization
disabled until we try to compile it optimized.

Basically, the assert should just handle this case more gracefully.

6ac4de87a8 harmony-scoping: make assignment to 'const' a late error.
Per TC39 Nov 2014 decision.

This patch also changes behavior for "legacy const": assignments to sloppy const in strict mode is now also a type error. This fixes v8:2243 and also brings us in compliance with other engines re assignment to function names (see updated webkit test), but might have bigger implications.
That change can easily be reverted by changing Variable::IsSignallingAssignmentToConst.

c3af691e72 [turbofan] Remove int32 narrowing during typed lowering.
With Int32Add we lose the int/uint distinction, so later, in simplified lowering we can make a wrong decision. E.g., see the attached test case, where we lower NumberAdd -> Int32Add because inputs are Uint32, but during simplified lowering we change the inputs to Int32, so we get a wrong result.

Simplified lowering will lower the NumberAdd operations anyway, so we should lose performance.

aa6815c79a Classes: Add support for arguments in default constructor
This is currently done by generating a default constructor that looks
like this:

  constructor() {
    %DefaultConstructorSuperCall();
  }

The a runtime function implements the logic which is pretty similar to
Runtime_Apply except that it uses the [[Prototype]] of the current
function.

This is the second try. The first failed because the test was using a
array that was too large for Function.prototype.apply.

This relands commit ea74f0f85a.

The revert was due to failures in cctest/test-heap/ReleaseOverReservedPages,
caused by apparent changes to memory layout and fragmentation of the
first page. Eliminating a situation in messages.js where this CL has had
an effect on map transitions seems to solve the issue.

b9886ae9ff Fix bugs in simplified lowering relating to int32/uint32 signs.
Lowering of NumberToUint32 and NumberToInt32 was not correctly accounting for the sign of the input and the sign of the output, emitting the wrong representation changes.

Along the way, I've found cases where MachineOperatorBuilder would break if fed a machine type for loads or stores that was not cached, requiring MachineOperatorBuilder to take zone to allocate operators for these cases.

2b026851ac Scanner: disallow unicode escapes in regexp flags.
The spec explicitly forbids them. V8 never handled them properly either, just
the Scanner accepted them (it had code to add them literally to the
LiteralBuffer) and later on, Regexp constructor disallowed them.

According to the spec, unicode escapes in regexp flags should be an early error
("It is a Syntax Error if IdentifierPart contains a Unicode escape sequence.").

Note that Scanner is still more relaxed about regexp flags than the
spec. Especially, it accepts any identifier parts (not just a small set of
letters) and doesn't check for duplicates.
