05af1afd42 eliminate all warnings in non-thirdparty code on mac 
Most of these issues were due to functions whose definitions appear in header files; I changed those functions to be 'static inline' instead of just 'static' or 'inline', which kills the warning for such functions.

Other functions that were static or anonymous-namespaced but were unused in cpp files were probably called at some point but are no longer; someone who knows more than I do should probably scrub all the functions I either deleted or #if 0'ed out and make sure that the right thing is happening here.

Lots of unused variables removed, and one nasty const issue handled.

There remains a single warning in thirdparty/externals/cityhash/src/city.cc on line 146 related to a signed/unsigned mismatch.  I don't know if we have control over this library so I didn't fix this one, but perhaps someone could do something about that one.

84f548cc9d Flags for render_pictures: verify, clone and writeWholeImage: 
1) flag to verify PNGs produced by render_picture that produce the same pixels
as simple renderer.
2) flag to write one single image (in tile we write individual tiles) - this
will help running skdiff also
3) flag to clone the picture before rendering

82ec0b00f3 Allow setting a scaleFactor in bench_pictures (and render_pictures). 
In TiledPictureRenderer and CopyTilesRenderer, do a postTranslate so
the translate is not affected by the scale factor.

Likewise, use clipRegion for tiled renderer so it will be
unaffected by the scale factor.

Respect the viewport for record, playbackCreation, and pipe renderers.

c0d5e549ab Allow bench_pictures to have its viewport set on the command line. 
Instead of drawing the entire (potentially very large) picture, only
draw one viewport's worth.

example:

bench_pictures <skp directory> --viewport 640 480

3cb834bd27 Modifying SkTileGrid to support arbitrary query rectangles. 
Exposing SkTileGrid functionality in the public API through SkTileGridPicture.
This patch also makes TileGrid and Rtree testable in gm, which revealed errors.

a362237644 add draw filter option to picture_bench 
Option allows adding a draw filter option per type
or for all types. All SkPaint flags may be filtered,
plus disabling blur and setting the hint level.

a62da2fee7 In bench_pictures --multi, maintain thread local caches. 
Builds on https://codereview.appspot.com/6718046/ by mtklein.

Previously, each iteration of drawing a picture started new threads to draw the picture. Since each thread is using thread local storage for the font cache, this means that each iteration had to start with an empty font cache.

The newly added MultiCorePictureRenderer, separated from TiledPictureRenderer, now starts the drawing threads at the beginning of the test using an SkThreadPool, and keeps them alive through all iterations, so the font cache can be reused.

For now, I have removed the pipe version of the threaded renderer.

Updated bench_pictures_main and render_pictures_main to use the new
renderer, and to unref a renderer before early exit.

5a7c6be72b Add the ability to provide function pointers to SkPicture serialization 
and deserialization for encoding and decoding bitmaps.

Remove kForceFlattenBitmapPixels_Flag, which is no longer used.

When an SkOrderedReadBuffer needs to read a bitmap, if it does not
have an image decoder, use a dummy bitmap.

In GM, add a tolerance option for color differences, used when
testing picture serialization, so it can assume two images are the
same even though PNG encoding/decoding may have resulted in small
differences.

Create dummy implementations for SkImageDecoder and SkImageEncoder
functions in SkImageDecoder_empty so that a project that does not
want to include the images project it can still build.

Allow ports to build without images project.

In Mac's image encoder, copy 4444 to 8888 before encoding.

Add SkWriter32::reservePad, to provide a pointer to write non 4 byte
aligned data, padded with zeroes.

In bench_ and render_ pictures, pass decode function to SkPicture
creation from a stream.

b4773b4802 Fix some bugs in our picture tools. 
When doing tiled rendering in multiple threads, clone fPicture,
rather than the blank fPictureClones. Also fix a precedence
problem so we get the correct rectangle.

In render_pictures_main, call PictureRenderer::setup().

72e3403914 Fix update-doxygen, which fails when skia-autogen is reset 
static_footer.txt was removed from skia/docs in r2837, but update-doxygen.sh
requires it to exist in skia-autogen.  If skia-autogen is cleared (frequently),
then static_footer.txt can't be found.  Add it back to trunk/tools and manually
copy it if needed.

81f9d2e05b In render_pictures tiled rendering, draw a separate PNG for each tile. 
Since the passed in picture may represent an image which is too large
to be represented on the GPU, never create such a large canvas. Instead,
after drawing to each tile, create a file showing just that tile.

9a4125283a Report data from bench_pictures in the same fashion as bench. 
Move SkBenchLogger into separate files and make bench_pictures use it.
Remove sk_tools::print_msg, since SkBenchLogger is now used instead.

Combine picture_benchmark with bench_pictures, since that is the
only project that uses it.

Refactor the aggregator for bench timer data into its own class and
make bench_pictures use it.

Consolidate the various virtual PictureBenchmark::run functions
into one for reuse.

9d696c0d04 Refactored the bitmap creation into PictureRenderer. 
Further, the picture is also stored in the PictureRenderer.

The main gain of all of this is that we will not have to change how the device in more than one place when we end up adding different devices.

a4091ba864 Each benchmark that needs a bitmap will now make its own. 
Before, the bitmaps were created and then passed to the benchmark. However, some benchmarks in the future will not require bitmaps. This will remove the necessity of passing around an extraneous bitmap to those tests.

d1dc920097 Allow specific files and multiple inputs for picture testing tools.

3dd459151f fix warnings on Mac in miscellaneous files 
Fix these class of warnings:
- unused functions
- unused locals
- sign mismatch
- missing function prototypes
- missing newline at end of file
- 64 to 32 bit truncation

The changes prefer to link in dead code in the debug build
with 'if (false)' than to comment it out, but trivial cases
are commented out or sometimes deleted if it appears to be
a copy/paste error.

46256ea736 Add to skdiff: test images for bitwise equality before testing for pixel-wise equality 
- we now check for bitwise equality of files before bothering with pixel 
  comparisons (this will help with formats for which we don't have good
  decoders, like PDF)
- unparsable files are now reported as differing, unless they are bitwise equal
  (before, they were always reported as matching!)
- "largest area mismatch" is now based on same-size image pairs only;
  previously, if any image pairs had mismatching size, it was 100%
- removed repetitive "image size mismatch, so no diff to display" messages
- changed format of leftmost table cells to be more readable
