375bea1c45 [inspector] Support multiple sessions per context group
This patch adds ability to connect multiple sessions to a single context group. This is an experimental feature, which is already supported in test harness.

So far covered runtime domain with tests (and found a bug thanks to the test). More tests to follow in next patches, probably with code adjustments as well.

51d38345f9 [bootstrapper] Ensure Map/Set constructor has fast properties.
Currently x instanceof Map/Set checks cannot take the fast path, since
the Map/Set constructor has dictionary properties. To avoid that, just
forcibly migrate the Map/Set constructor to fast properties again once
it's fully setup in the bootstrapper.

d3371c23cb [debug] Untangle DebugInfo from break point support
DebugInfo was very closely tied to break point support:
* It contained only information relevant to break points.
* It was created and freed by break point implementation.
* Existence of a DebugInfo on the shared function info implied existence of
  break points.

This CL is a step towards making DebugInfo usable by other debugging
functionality such as block coverage by decoupling it from break point support,
which is now only one kind of information stored on the DebugInfo object.

45618a9ab5 [wasm] Make prototype flags experimental
Most prototype implementations are not fully supported in the
interpreter. This is the case at least for exception handling, simd, and
atomics. Any function can be redirected to the interpreter though,
either by passing --wasm-interpret-all, or by dynamically redirecting to
the interpreter for debugging.
Making the flags experimental keeps the fuzzer from playing around with
these flags.

Drive-by: Refactor tests which explicitly set the prototype flag to use
a new scope for that.

Instead of stmt position blackboxing use function start position which is negative in described case.

fc3f29d329 Reland of Reland of "ARM64: Add NEON support"
This reverts commit c5aad5f284
The CL was reverted due to missing Chromium dependencies.

This commit removes the simulator trace-based tests, and the associated header file dependencies, previously pulled in by DEPS. The NEON support now has only hand-written tests, in test-assembler-arm64.cc. The remaining tests can be added in a later patch.

6f69e3ceca [inspector] removed break location right before suspension in async function
In current implementation in expressions like await foo() we have break location right after foo call and before actual await.
And we additionally have a lot of other statement locations because of do scope.

Let's move async debugging closer to sync debugging and introduce only one break location for await - before awaited function call.

fb6a094db5 [inspector] moved var initialization break location before init expression (reland)
This CL improves break locations for expressions like 'var a = <expr>'. Without CL we use <expr> position as break location for initialization statement, with this CL we use position of first character after '=' as position.
Benefits (see test for details):
 - only one break in expressions which includes mix of property lookup and calls, e.g. var p = Promise.resolve().then(x => x * 2),
 - removed redundant break location for expressions like: let { x, y } = { x: 1, y: 2}.

2a9965bd0e Move StatsTable into the Counters class.
By moving StatsTable from class Isolate to class Counters, it make the
class StatsTable thead safe. This is needed because these two classes
call each other, and for background compilation, instances of the
Counters class can persist longer that the corresponding Isolate it
came from.

It also removes unnecessary hops to the the Isolate, and checks if the
StatsTable has been created, for these communications.

7a9cc70492 [inspector] moved var initialization break location before init expression
This CL improves break locations for expressions like 'var a = <expr>'. Without CL we use <expr> position as break location for initialization statement, with this CL we use position of first character after '=' as position.
Benefits (see test for details):
- only one break in expressions which includes mix of property lookup and calls, e.g. var p = Promise.resolve().then(x => x * 2),
- removed redundant break location for expressions like: let { x, y } = { x: 1, y: 2}.

a957b0f424 Make non-Module generators only context allocate parameters.
In particular, local variables should be allocated on stack (in bytecode register), and stored/loaded to the generator object on generator suspend/resume.

The CL is based on @adamk's change to scoping/parsers (https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/498538/), I only made the debugger cope with this change.

I should note that the CL changes the scope type of suspended generators from ScopeType.Closure to ScopeType.Local. In the future we might want to introduce ScopeType.SuspendedGenerator to make the distinction explicit.

Some of the changes in the tests have been made because the debugger functions do not return scopes of closed generators anymore. Generators should be allowed to throw away their internal state when they finish.

fb78710c06 [inspector] removed call break location from for-of loop
There are two break locations at the same source location by desugaring:
- call iterator.next,
- before variable assignment.

Additionally location for for..of loops is moved from before "of" to before each variable expression.

We should not report first implicit call to avoid user confusion. User still able to go into .next function with both scenarios:
- when this call is reached by stepOver or stepInto from previous line,
- when this call is reached because of breakpoint at current line.

9dbafbd5d3 [turbofan] Add support for inlining accessors into try-blocks.
Previously the inlining of accessors into try-blocks (i.e. try/catch,
try/finally, for-of, etc.) was disabled in JSNativeContextSpecialization,
which prevented a couple of interesting optimizations, i.e. we end up
with a LOAD_IC in optimized code for this simple example:

  class A { get x() { return 1; } }
  function foo(a) {
    try {
      return a.x;
    } catch (e) {
      return 0;
    }
  }
  foo(new A)

This is now fixed and the accessors are properly rewired into the
handler chain.

8e0daf78da [wasm] Also kBadChar is a valid utf8 character
The validation of utf8 strings in WebAssembly modules used the character
kBadChar = 0xFFFD to indicate a validation error. However, this
character can appear in a valid utf8 string. This CL fixes this problem
by duplicating some of the code in {Utf8::CalculateValue} and inlining
it directly into Utf8::Validate. Note that Utf8::Validate is used only
for WebAssembly.

Tests for this change are in the WebAssembly spec tests, which I will
update in a separate CL.

If the maximum number of memory pages is raised using

eeefc74a11 [wasm] Swap the implementation of SIMD compare ops using Gt/Ge insteas of Lt/Le
Currently SIMD integer comparison ops are implemented using Lt/Le, this is
sub-optimal on Intel, because all compares are done using pcmpgt(d/w/b) that
clobber the destination register, and will need additional instructions to
when using Lt/Le as the base implementation. This CL proposes moving to Gt/Ge
as the underlying implementation as this will only require swapping operands
on MIPS and is consistent with x86/ARM instructions.

cb7dd0a911 Replace sanitizers:deps with exe_and_shlib_deps (v8)
All targets (at least on sanitizer builds) unconditionally depend
on //build/config/sanitizers:deps.

It is necessary for bug 593874 that all targets now also depend
on //buildtools/third_party/libc++:libcxx_proxy.  This requires
adding a new "global dependency": //build/config:exe_and_shlib_deps.

This CL updates references to sanitizers:deps to instead refer to
//build/config:exe_and_shlib_deps.

2f92e9eb6b [wasm] Cleanup the wasm fuzzer corpus files.
In a recent CL I moved the corpus of the wasm fuzzer and of the
wasm-asmjs fuzzer to a different directory

.gitignore file.

In addition I removed the hooks for wasm_corpus and
wasm_asmjs_corpus from the V8 DEPS file, because in a V8 checkout
they are not used anyway.

I also added code to the test runner to delete all *.wasm files
from the directories test/fuzzer/wasm and test/fuzzer/wasm_asmjs.
This code should be removed in a week, but it will help my coworkers

47702c53bc [wasm] {compile|instantiate}Streaming
As per spec, (https://github.com/WebAssembly/design/pull/1068), we
don't have compile/instantiate overloads anymore, instead, we
have explicitly named members.

This change introduces the new APIs, implements instantiateStreaming
based on compileStreaming, and uses the existing embedder mechanism.
It does not yet remove the functionality from compile/instantiate -
we do that after we adopt the new APIs on the blink side.

Also, it temporarily handles exceptions on the v8 side, which is also
something we'll move to the blink side.

5dc2d6f6c5 Reland: [ignition] Be smarter about register allocation in VisitSuspend
Split BytecodeGenerator::VisitSuspend into two pieces, one for
building the suspension code and one for resumption (these
are split into separate Build methods for convenience).
Each gets its own RegisterAllocationScope, which allows us to
reduce the register file size of the empty generator by 1.

For consistency, rename VisitGeneratorPrologue() to
BuildGeneratorPrologue() to match the names of the two
newly-created methods.

This relands the patch originally committed in
98927ea51b, as the test failure
due to that change was a code flushing bug. Code flushing was
disabled in de4a4095cf.

0439100a5f [parser] Stop treating generators as "top level" for preparsing purposes
Generators were previously treated as "top level" for preparsing purposes,
since all their variables are context-allocated. But doing so isn't quite
correct: the allocation of the "arguments" variable for a generator
depends on whether it's referenced, and so an inner arrow function
which references "arguments" won't properly trigger allocation of
"arguments" since the reference will not be noticed in the preparser.

The same problem exists for "this" since commit 68f0a47b28a96a4966e7b747bfa304b555e726d1;
before that commit, all generators implicitly referenced their "this" argument
as part of the desugaring. With that implicit reference gone, "this"
falls into the same problem as arguments.

This patch restricts the special "top level" treatment to modules,
which have only a trivial "this" binding (it's always undefined), and no
arguments binding. Moreover, all code inside modules is strict, meaning
that unresolved references to "this" will also result in undefined.

Also removed AstNodeFactory::BodyScope since DiscardableZoneScope essentially

The underlying issue is that TF Nodes cannot handle input counts

generated a switch node with a control output count >kMaxInt.
Operator::ControlOutputCount turned this into a negative integer later,
leading to a failing DCHECK.
Since such large numbers cannot occur in any valid wasm function anyway,
we just add an additional check to the br table count. There is already
a TODO in the code to change Operator::ControlOutputCount to size_t.

a68b75d059 [wasm] Don't try to interpret asm.js modules
The interpreter does not implement all asm.js specific opcodes. Thus
the combination of --validate-asm and --wasm-interpret-all might crash.
The interpreter does not need to execute asm.js modules, as they are
debugged by executing them in turbofan instead of the wasm interpreter.
This CL thus excludes asm.js modules from --wasm-interpret-all.

4a5adb43ac [turbofan] Reland of Add alignment parameter to StackSlot operator
Reland d8bfdb7a99

Original commit message:
If alignment parameter is set, the memory returned by the
StackSlot operator will be aligned according to the parameter.

The implementation goes like this. If alignment parameter is set
we allocate a bit more memory than actually needed and so we
can move the beginning of the StackSlot in order to have it aligned.

98927ea51b [ignition] Be smarter about register allocation in VisitSuspend
Split BytecodeGenerator::VisitSuspend into two pieces, one for
building the suspension code and one for resumption (these
are split into separate Build methods for convenience).
Each gets its own RegisterAllocationScope, which allows us to
reduce the register file size of the empty generator by 1.

- Default constructor scopes won't need the scope data for deciding the scope

they should be just skipped when applying the scope data.

- PreParser needs to declare the class name + have a proper end position for

- This makes all mjsunit tests pass with --experimental-preparser-scope-analysis.

- Also added several DCHECKs which were useful for debugging.

96b0928939 Remove crankshaft flag.
Crankshaft flag and opt flag mostly serve the same purpose. Using
crankshaft to mean use optimizing compiler is a bit confusing.
This cl: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/490206/ fixes
the tests to use opt instead of crankshaft flag.

One difference between --no-crankshaft and --no-opt would be that
--no-opt would mean no optimizations at all where as with --no-crankshaft
would mean we can force optimizations using %OptimizeFunctionOnNextCall.

eb18a5146b [base] Fix integer check in CHECK/DCHECK macros
The current implementation failed when comparing an integral type to a
reference to an integral type of different signedness (see updated
unittest).
This CL fixes the checks to actually test the std::decay<T>::type,
i.e. with all references, const or volatile modifiers stripped.

72019a0428 [wasm] Streaming decoder
This CL implements a streaming decoder which takes the bytes
of a wasm module as an input, potentially split into multiple
chunks, and decodes them into segments. Each segment either
contains the payload of a whole section, or the code of a
single function. The goal is that the streaming decoder is
used for streaming compilation. That's where the interface
comes from, see
(https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/v8/include/v8.h?q=OnBytesReceived&sq=package:chromium&l=4060)

Error positions are not reported correctly at the moment. I
plan to do this in a separate CL.

540419b660 [value-serializer] Verify deserialized JSRegExp flags
One of the serializer fuzzers passes in random data to the deserializer,
which can then be used to deserialize a JSRegExp instance with random flag

FLAG_harmony_regexp_dotall is set.

This CL verifies deserialized flags before constructing the JSRegExp
and bails out if they are invalid.

6d38f89d26 [turbofan] Boost performance of Array.prototype.shift by 4x.
For small arrays, it's way faster to just move the elements instead of

ports this functionality to TurboFan, which yields a 4x speed-up when
using shift on small arrays (with up to 16 elements).

This should recover some of the regressions reported in the Node.js issues

Due to speculative optimizations, the compiler can run into situations
where it's asked perform impossible operations, like loading a tagged

assumptions in the compiler (that make perfect sense for code that is
not dead). So teach LoadElimination not to mix up element accesses with

ededfcd212 Skip hole initialization of lexical variables when possible
This patch expands scope analysis to skip hole initialization
when it can be determined statically that no hole checks will
be generated at runtime.

Two conditions must be met to safely eliminate hole initialization:
  - There must not exist a VariableProxy referencing this Variable
    whose HoleCheckMode is kRequired
  - The Variable must be stack allocated; any other allocation implies
that it may be accessed from not-yet-analyzed scopes (other modules,
inner functions, or eval code) and that code may require
    hole checks.

The new logic required removing debug code in full-codegen which is
now incorrect in some cases.

Also fixed Variable's bitfield helpers to take no more space than needed.

9a572e1d5f [parse tasks] Fix arrow function parameters handling.
Formal parameters of an arrow function are parsed even if the function
itself is preparsed. It is because we don't know if it is an arrow
function parameter list or just comma separated expression list.
When we parse:
 (a, b = (function c() { return a; })())
call to function c may be just part of an assignment in an expression
list, but if it's followed by:
 => { return b; }
It is an arrow function and the call to c is a default parameter.
Before we see the arrow we might have already created a parse task
to parse function c.

d871c5ba80 [turbofan] fix escape analysis divergence on Air benchmark
When a virtual object passes by a store node that updates a field to the existing value, then the object and its state were not copied, which lead to the original object being passed on.
If then later the store actually modifies and copies the virtual object, this new copy is not passed down the effect chain, so subsequent nodes still refer to the original virtual object and try to update it once new information flows in.
This conflicts with updates on the node that originally created the virtual object, leading to divergence.

2bb21e169a resolvedTimezone for Etc/UTC should be UTC per Ecma 402
http://unicode.org/cldr/trac/ticket/9943 added a new separate timezone
ID (Etc/UTC) distinct from "Etc/GMT" even though their behavior is
identical. This CLDR change led v8 to violate Ecma 402 requirement that
resolvedOptions().timeZone for DateTimeFormat be "UTC" for "Etc/UTC"
, "Etc/GMT", "GMT" and "UTC".

This CL made v8 compliant to Ecma 402 again.

c6540ab1b7 [es6] don't use do-expressions to desugar ES6 classes
Removes the do-expression wrapping, modifies BytecodeGenerator change
to enter a class literal's block scope if needed.

This does not solve the actual bug in v8:6322, but helps mitigate it in
simple cases. The bug is caused by BytecodeGenerator not allocating a
large enough array of context registers to hold its entire stack,
allowing non-context registers to be overwritten during PushContext and
PopContext bytecodes.

Nevertheless, I like the idea of not depending on do-expressions when
possible, so I think it's worth doing anyways.

5228af67e1 [intl] Use a service-dependent default locale
Different Intl features (DateTimeFormat, NumberFormat, etc) have
different lists of locales supported. Previously, the default locale
was set to "und", as opposed to what was detected from the surrounding
system, if any of these features was missing data. With this patch,
only that feature is set to "und". In this way, the data quality should
be just as good as if there were no fallback logic, but at the same time,
resolvedOptions().locale should show the locale actually in effect.

Executing the |end| opcode of a loop assumed that the stack height was
being reset to the height at start of the loop. Hence we were ignoring

During computation of the side table, the arity of the label associated
with the loop was explicitly set to 0, such that a |br| instruction to

It turns out though that we need to remember the arity in order to
precompute the correct stack height when executing the |end| opcode of

8d628bc920 [Interpreter] Remove special handling for tests in BytecodeRegisterOptimizer
BytecodeRegisterOptimizer had special handling for the case when parameters
is 0. This is not possible from valid javascript. It exists because some
tests do not take this into account. Fixed tests and removed the special
handling.

Also removed a TODO, which is already done here:
