This almost gets gms to be iwyu clean. The last bit is around gm.cpp
and the tracing framework and its use of atomic. Will also need a way
of keeping things from regressing, which is difficult due to needing to

Now that no one is using the linear metrics flag directly, change the
meaning from 'no-hinting and subpixel positioning at an odd size when

This also changes the font hosts to no longer use subpixel positioning
as a proxy for this value. This fixes outstanding bugs in Chromium about
getting the right metrics for hinted fonts.

Things to look at first are the manual changes:
- added tools/rewrite_includes.py
- removed -Idirectives from BUILD.gn
- various compile.sh simplifications
- tweak tools/embed_resources.py
- update gn/find_headers.py to write paths from the top
- update gn/gn_to_bp.py SkUserConfig.h layout
so that #include "include/config/SkUserConfig.h" always
gets the header we want.

- if there is none, draw nothing, else
- temporarily intersect the device's clip with that bounds
- drawPaint

glyph ids of the glyphs with extreme bounds. This was previously done
with a command line flag label_fontmgr_bounds. However, this information
is generally only useful in the viewer application, so change this to a
control.
This also adds bool field handling in viewer.

In the end only DM and skia_test really use it.
- nanobench used --veryVerbose in a silly superficial way
- gm/fontmgr.cpp is probably clearer using its own flag
- the change to StrokerTest should be a near noop...
reporter->verbose() is set by --veryVerbose in both
DM and skia_test.cpp. One of the checks tested
FLAGS_verbose, but I feel like that was probably a typo.

{1K,1K} ought to work fine for F16 precision. 16 bit floats step by 1.0
between 1024 and 2048, so they should be able to just barely represent
distinct coordinates for each pixel. If precision drops below 16 bit
we'll start seeing banding because we can't distinguish coordinates.
Swap out the colors a little so that it's clear which images are the 1K
(black+green) and which are the old 100K (black+white).

Updates the handling of perspective quads to calculate the correct,
degenerate-safe projected quad and then derive from that the proper
perspective quad.
In 2D, updated to determine if the optimized outset/inset procedure
is valid, and if not goes through a more robust procedure that is
based on line equation intersections. In particular, the degenerate
inset/outset approach is used when the quad has a zero-length edge,
if insetting/outsetting normally would create a self-intersecting shape,
or if near parallel edge angles would create numerical instabilities.
Performance testing by forcing all rectangle draws through the degenerate
code path suggests that it is about 10% slower than the optimal approach,
at least on my workstation...

This utility color space just maps Y to R, U to G and V to B when flattening or accessing the YUV planes. Clients can then add a colorFilter to directly manipulate the YUV values.
This cannot land in Skia until the following CL lands in Chrome:

Previously, we relied on ops to deduce whether a draw would have
hardware coverage modulation as a result mixed samples. This is
problematic because *any* draw can have mixed samples coverage if
there is a multisampled stencil clip. No ops were checking for stencil
clip, and most just said they never used mixed samples.
Now that the only usecase for mixed samples is the stencil buffer,
this CL makes the processorSet automatically deduce mixed samples
coverage from the stencil settings and fsaaType.

This is a second attempt at https://skia-review.googlesource.com/c/skia/+/182816
This version ensures that SkImage::colorSpace() returns the target after
makeColorSpace has been called (to match user expectations, and match
behavior with lazy images). Given that, the xform is baked into the FP
within the maker, rather than externally (again, this matches the lazy
image behavior).
Additionally, the target color space needs to be taken into account when
flattening into the RGB proxy, and some base-class methods need to use
this->colorSpace() rather than fColorSpace to tag the output.
Added a GM that tests quite a few different scenarios. All images have
makeColorSpace() applied:
- Raster image (for reference)
- yuvImage
- yuvImage->makeSubset()
- yuvImage->makeNonTextureImage()
- readPixels(yuvImage)
All images should look the same as the top row. Verified that they do
match, in both untagged (gl) and tagged (glsrgb) configs.
I think there may still be some cases where we transform too many or too
few times, or incorrectly tag the result of an image operation, but this
is much more correct than before, and should (I hope) address Chrome's
immediate needs.

This reverts commit 9a97c96c9c.
This works like makeColorSpace, but allows changing color type as well.
Added a GM to test, although the GM demonstrates several ways this can
fail (especially when using this on lazy images).
For simple use-cases (8888 <-> F16), everything should be fine.
For the reland, add logic to the GM to guard against context abandon
failures, and to ensure that lazy images can be decoded (by calling
makeRasterImage) before trying to draw them. That prevents the DDL
recorder from seeing them.

Converted nearly all SkColorSpace::MakeRGB calls within Skia to use the
new factory with the named values. Multiple clients want a way to
extract named transfer function and gamut - this still doesn't provide
that, but this may be a better path forward for honestly advertising how

The function is inlined - the compiler can do whatever optimizations it
wants at each call-site. In the future, stride and uvOffset won't be
static (with optional wide colors), so this is required anyway.
Also, the pointer being passed in is never const, so stop cleverly
casting away the const-ness via reinterpret into and out of intptr_t.

The parameters are sometimes redundantly stating the known budgeted

Gives the caller more predictable/reliable results, and allows GMs to be
a little sloppy about how they leave the canvas.
For normal saves, this isn't really significant. But if the gm left an
unbalanced saveLayer, then we can get wacky results... Before this CL:
- raster backend balanced because ~SkCanvas got called
- gpu backend was not balanced, all we did was call flush()

and then a large chunk of text below it. On the next frame they started fading
out the text and then swapped out all of the large chunk of text. We were not
marking the Plot containing the small bit of text as still in use in this case,
so it was getting overwritten by later uploads. That bug has been fixed,
but this GM tests that codepath.

A stroked arc with round caps was batched with a filled circle. The circle op
code would choose a GeometryProcessor configuration that expected round cap
centers as vertex attributes. However, the tessellation code for the filled
circle would not put in dummy round cap centers and then didn't advance the
pointer into which vertex data was being written by the expected vertex
stride.

This separates the existing convexity logic into
two passes. The first pass detects concavity by
counting the changes in direction.
The second pass computes the cross product to
see that all angles bend in the same direction, and
computes the dot product to see if the angle
doubles back on itself.
The second pass treats axis-aligned vectors
separately, and computes the dot and cross products
by comparing point values; it does not use arithmetic
to determine convexity, so it works with all finite
values.
A compile time switch enables returning concave
for co-linear diagonal points:
If successive points are not axis-aligned, and
those points are co-linear along a diagonal;
the path is treated as concave. This is conservative
but avoids paths that change convexity when the
are translated or scaled, since transforming the
path may cause the midpoint to shift to either
side of a line formed by the endpoints.
The compile time switch is set so that co-linear
diagonal points do not affect convexity. Note that
this permits shapes formerly considered concave, such
as stroked lines with round caps, to become convex;
this accounts for many of the GM differences.
A path may double back on itself and be convex;
for instance, a path containing a single line.
Path may have multiple initial moveTo verbs, or
trailing moveTo verbs, and still evaluate as convex.
A separate entry point, SkPathPriv::IsConvex()
allows passing an array of points instead of a path.
A legacy define has been checked into Chrome to
use the old code until layout tests have been
rebaselined.

Added a GM that demonstrates the bug. Should draw a blur with
the center masked out, and a circular blurry shape that's
roughly the inverse. On raster, this was already the result.
On GPU, the blurred/eroded layer becomes a subset with an
origin other than (0,0), and that layer was shifted.
I *think* this is the correct fix - we are including 'offset'
in the texture matrices, but that's just based on the crop
rects and adjustments from each filter. We still need to adjust
the texture coords for the subsets themselves.

GrRenderTargetOpList maintains an array of op chains. When it receives a
new op it tries to add it to an existing chain, working backwards from
the end of the current array. If the op can be added to a chain it
additionally tries to merge the new op with ops already in the chain
before adding it to the tail of the chain.
In forward combining it tries to concatenate chains. If chains can
concatenate it also attempts to merge ops between the two chains.
Now op chaining results reported by Op subclasses must be transitive.
Moreover, if op A is able to merge with B then it must be the case that
any op that can chain with A will either merge or chain with any op that
can chain to B.

Adds setVertexAttributes and setInstanceAttributes. These take a pointer
to the first attribute, and a count. The count is the total number of
possible attributes, though some may not be initialized. The base class
computes the number of initialized attributes, pre-computes the strides,
and only allows subsequent access to the initialized attributes.
The attributes need to be allocated contiguously. Some GPs place them in
an array, though most just place them as consecutive members, and pass
a pointer to the first one.
Indexed access would be possible, but now it makes more sense to iterate
over all attributes, so enable that, and use range-based for everywhere.
Completely remove the per-attribute offset helper (again - possible, but
not real helpful), and make the stride always available. In many ops,
just use the GP's computed stride, rather than re-computing it.

edging settings are needed for metrics calls, as well as drawing, hence
we really have to include them in almost every SkFont call/usage, so I
guess we can just accept them as real.
This seems to imply that we have to document what happens in drawTextBlob,
since it has a bunch of SkFonts (runs) AND a paint. This is the situation
today of course, and I had hoped to simplify it, but I think I've failed.
Proposal dox for drawTextBlob.
drawTextBlob respects the paint when drawing the blog, but it IGNORES the
paint's antialias (and lcdrender) flags, as these are already specified in
the blob's runs.

when deserialization factories haven't been registered.
I've made getTypeName() pure virtual like getFactory(),
and moved all the overrides into SK_FLATTENABLE_HOOKS,
cleaning up all the various ways we've done it before.
All the subclasses override getTypeName() and getFactory()
privately, so there should be no need to document them?

It's been driving me nuts that I can't just write `SkMatrix44 m;`,
and I often don't care whether it's initialized or not. The default
identity constructor would be nice to use, but it's deprecated.
By tagging this constructor deprecated, we're only hurting ourselves;
our big clients disable warnings about deprecated routines and use it
freely.
A quick tally in Skia shows we mostly use the uninitialized constructor,
but sometimes the identity constructor, and there is a spread of all
three in Chromium. So I've left the two explicit calls available.
I switched a bunch of calls in Skia to use the less verbose constructor
where it was clear that it didn't matter if the matrix was initialized.
Literally zero of the kUninitialized constructor calls looked important
for performance, so the only place I've kept is its lone unit test.
A few places read clearer with an explicit "identity" to read.

This is a reland of f065907ccc
3rd time's the charm:
The new analytic gradient shader was sporadically triggering violations of the coverage as alpha
compatibility optimization. Unfortunately, even when using the same device and random seed for the
test, the bots did not always reproduce the error. However, we identified the likely cause of the
violation.
The test requires that all output channels are less than the input alpha, which it uses to validate
whether or not the shader is modulating its values by the input alpha. This test does not pass if
the RGB values are greater than 1. The original version of the analytic gradient shader used half4s
for its scale and bias values. Given the threshold limit for hardstops of 0.00024 (SkNearlyZero),
a very small interval that is not treated as a hardstop can create a scale or bias of over 4000.
This moves into the very imprecise region of 16-bit floats, making it plausible that the gradient
outputs colors greater than 1, due to rounding. The kicker is that the random test generation for
stop locations does not use a uniform distribution, but is instead biased towards the remaining
interval, which increases the likelihood of generating a small interval that is not treated as a
hard stop. We are keeping this behavior since ill-conditioned gradients are useful in testing.

After sk_imageinfo was initially created, we have added a colorspace to it,
and that object is a smart-pointer. In response to that, this CL upgrades
imageinfo to an "object" (like paint), so we can manage the ref-counting of
its colorspace, and to allow for future changes/expansion (like paint).

The "pointy vertex" test was only considering the distance from the
next (outgoing) edge to the previous point. It must also consider the
distance from the previous (incoming) edge to the next point. If
either are less than a quarter pixel, the vertex is considered pointy
and should be removed. (884166)
Also (887103), when an interior region was completely removed due to
boundary simplification, it would leave a degenerate edge consisting
of the same vertex. So avoid introducing a join edge when prev == next.

Basically I just wanted to refactor this GM so that it drew a bitmap of
the same (ct,at,cs) as the canvas so that we could get some coverage of
drawing, say, F16.
But then I just started refactoring here and there and before I knew
it I've basically rewritten the GM. What it draws is unchanged, but
- I've stripped the parameters that never change from the names
- I've removed a lot of inheritance instead using a single
SkBitmap (*)(SkImageInfo) pointer passed to the constructor
- formatting, header cleanup, etc.
Sadly this doesn't reproduce the crash mentioned in the attached bug.
PS 2+3 oughta stop --config serialize-8888 from asserting.

Provides a reasonably flexible fragment processor that defines another
colorizer implementation for gradients. It can support up to 8
interpolation intervals (which is 16 colors if every stop is a hard stop
or 9 colors if every stop is a smooth transition). It
supports mixtures of hard and smooth stops. It is conditionally compiled
into versions specific to the interval count (so it can produce up to
8 shader variants).
The GrGradientShader controller does not remove the single and dual
interval colorizers, which are useful specializations of this explicit
binary search colorizer. Similarly, since it can only handle up to 8
intervals, the texture colorizer is still used as a fallback.
Currently it does not employ capabilities detection to determine if the
hardware can support the number of required uniforms, which can become
substantial for the larger gradient configurations.

Update SkImageShader/SkBlitter_sprite to use SkPaint::getColor4f().
Split the set_rgb into bounded and unbounded variants, just like we did
with uniform_color (the exact rgba variant). Without this we'd try to
draw out-of-gamut colors in lowp for the non-scaled shader draw in
--config srgb, and that can't work. SkRasterPipeline::append_set_rgb()
now checks to see if it's safe to use ::set_rgb and lowp, falling back
on ::unbounded_set_rgb and floats.
In the GM, the new "sprite" case is handled by SkImageShader, and the
old "sprite" case is handled as a uniform color draw through an A8 mask.
I'm having trouble constructing a call that reaches the A8 code in
SkBlitter_Sprite, but I have confirmed that it's definitely used by
quickly running the other GMs. I've updated it to use the float paint
color just like SkImageShader.

It turns out I had no idea how A8 draws happened.
There is probably some dead code to remove in
SkBlitter_Sprite (I think, never called for A8)
and in SkImageShader (only ever called with a black
paint color for A8), in this CL as TODOs.

Remove late draw consolidation in GrOpFlushState. Rarely did anything
and doesn't work with new allocation strategy. Ops can use GrMesh arrays
to acheive the same thing. (Each Op that cared to would have to implement
but it isn't applicable to most Ops).
Modify GrMeshDrawOp::Target::draw() to take array of meshes, with single
mesh as a special case.

Create new header and namespace, `SkUTF` where we are putting all of our
robust, well documented UTF-8, UTF-16, and UTF-32 functions:
`SkUTF::{Count,Next,To}UTF{8,16,32}()`.
SkUTF.h and SkUTF.cpp do not depend on the rest of Skia and are suitable
for re-use in other modules.
Some of the old UTF-{8,16} functions still live in SkUtils.h; their use
will be phased out in future CLs.
Also added more unit testing and cleaned up old tests.
Removed functions that were unused outside of tests or used only once.

- Encoders and decoders always assume kIgnore.
- They are less opinionated about F16 and color space,
we just trust the color space that's passed in, and
put that directly in the image (no sRGB encoding).
- SkBitmap and SkPixmap read/write pixels functions were
defaulting to kResepct, those are now always kIgnore.
- Many other bits of plumbing are simplified, and I
added a default of kIgnore to SkImage::makeColorSpace,
so we can phase out that argument entirely.
- Still need to add defaults to other public APIs that
take SkTransferFunctionBehavior.
- This makes gold think that we've dramatically changed
the contents of all F16 images, but that's because
it doesn't understand the (now linear) color space
that's embedded. Once we triage them all once, they
will work fine (and they'll look perfect in the browser).

Draws can specify "fixed dynamic state" which doesn't use the dynamism at
all or can specify dynamic state arrays with an entry per GrMesh.
When we state other than scissor rects this will allow the caller to
use a mix of truly dynamic and fixed dynamic state. So a caller that
only has dynamic scissor rects doesn't need to store its remaining
unvarying state in an array.

PS5: Removes SkDestinationSurfaceColorMode, tracking of mipmap
mode on GrTexture, sRGB decode state per-texture. Because we
were often choosing sRGB configs for RGB color types, legacy
rendering would then be incorrect (too dark). So...
PS7: Stops ever using sRGB pixel configs when translating
image info or color type. Also removes a bunch of GrCaps bits
and a GrContextOption that are no longer relevant.
PS9: Adjusts surface creation unit test expectations, and
changes the raster rules accordingly.
At this point, sRGB configs are (obviously) going to be broken.
Locally, I ran 8888, gl, and the gbr- versions of both. Across
all GMs x configs, there are 13 diffs. 12 are GMs that create
surfaces with a color-space attached (and thus, the offscreen
is no longer getting sRGB pixel config). The only remainder
constructs an SkPictureImageGenerator, (with an attached color
space) and renders it to the gbr-gl canvas, which triggers a
a tagged surface inside the generator.

get zero winding.

The middle set of text is generated by rendering into a surface and
then blitting that to the canvas to generate a certain kind of text
generation. However, we are rendering with a -0.05 rotation and using
nearest-neighbor sampling, which produces nasty artifacts unrelated to
text. Changed the sample to render into the surface with the rotation,
and blit back with no rotation.
