d755bba40f Preserve errno across _PC_CHOWN_RESTRICTED call on XFS 
Fix BZ #15305.

On kernel versions earlier than 2.6.29, the Linux kernel exported a
sysctl called restrict_chown for xfs, which could be used to allow
chown to users other than the owner.  2.6.29 removed this support,
causing the open_not_cancel_2 to fail and thus modify errno.  The fix
is to save and restore errno so that the caller sees it as unmodified.

Additionally, since the code to check the sysctl is not useful on
newer kernels, we add an ifdef so that in future the code block gets
rmeoved completely.

81f311c2ee Add benchmark tests for slowpow and slowexp 
Separate benchmarks for the fast and slow implementations of pow and
exp since measuring both together doesn't make sense.  Adjust the
iterations for pow and exp accordingly so that they run long enough
for the measurements to be meaningful.

b0f1246ab4 PowerPC: .eh_frame info in crt1.o isn't useful and triggers gold bug 14675. 
The .eh_frame info in crt1.o isn't useful and this patch prevents it from
being generated on PowerPC.  It triggers the following gold bug:

7a86be6e5f Don't add input group during initgroups_dyn in hesiod 
Fixes BZ #15304.

The *initgroups_dyn functions are called with a group argument.  This
group gid is usually skipped while populating the grouplist since the
caller adds that group id in advance.

The hesiod initgroups_dyn implementation however adds the group gid to
the list if it does not already exist.  While it works fine for the
usual initgroups, it breaks nscd since it calls initgroups_dyn with -1
as the gid (to have all groups included).

5739f705ee Use integral constants 
The compiler is smart enough to convert those into double for powerpc,
but if we put them as doubles, it adds overhead by performing those
operations in floating point mode.

6f2e90e78f Make mantissa type of mp_no configurable 
The mantissa of mp_no is intended to take only integral values.  This
is a relatively good choice for powerpc due to its 4 fpus, but not for
other architectures, which suffer due to this choice.  This change
makes the default mantissa a long integer and allows powerpc to
override it.  Additionally, some operations have been optimized for
integer manipulation, resulting in a significant improvement in
performance.

e42a38dd9d BZ#13889: expl (709.75) wrongly overflows for ldbl-128ibm 
The patch increase the high value to check if expl overflows. Current
high mark value is not really correct, the algorithm accepts high values.
It also adds a correct wrapper function to check for overflow and underflow.

2e0fb52187 BZ#11120: fix x86_64/strcmp.S NOT_IN_libc safeguards 
Due to a typo repeated several times, this bug hasn't been fixed yet,
despite being marked as resolved in glibc 2.12.

3775a8bc2d Allow adding of arbitrary code to benchmark tests 
This allows us to define custom functions in C code files and
benchmark scenarios rather than just functions.  The main current use
of this is to separate the slow and fast path benchmarks for math
functions.

adbb8027be Remove PIPE_BUF Linux-specific code 
Fixes BZ #12723

The variable pipe buffer size does nothing to the value of PIPE_BUF,
since the number of bytes that are atomically written is still
PIPE_BUF on Linux.

4e9b599577 Revert GLIBC_PTHREAD_DEFAULT_STACKSIZE changes. 
This reverts the change that allows the POSIX Thread default stack size
to be changed by the environment variable
GLIBC_PTHREAD_DEFAULT_STACKSIZE. It has been requested that more
discussion happen before this change goes into 2.18.

e69804d14e Use long wherever possible in mpa.c

6ff444c418 unify xmalloc prototypes & friends

ba384f6ed9 C++11 thread_local destructors support 
This feature is specifically for the C++ compiler to offload calling
thread_local object destructors on thread program exit, to glibc.
This is to overcome the possible complication of destructors of
thread_local objects getting called after the DSO in which they're
defined is unloaded by the dynamic linker.  The DSO is marked as
'unloadable' if it has a constructed thread_local object and marked as
'unloadable' again when all the constructed thread_local objects
defined in it are destroyed.

b39949d211 ARM: Support loading unmarked objects from cache. 
ARM now supports loading unmarked objects from
the dynamic loader cache. Unmarked objects can
be used with the hard-float or soft-float ABI.
We must support loading unmarked objects during
the transition period from a binutils that does
not mark objects to one that does mark them with
the correct ELF flags.

67b3f58c83 ulimit: remove buggy bsd implementation 
The bsd implementation of ulimit produces wrong return values, so remove it
in favour of the posix implementation.

The only regression for non-Linux implementations using bsd sysdeps and not
providing an own ulimit is that the __UL_GETMAXBRK case (which is non-standard)
is left unimplemented (giving EINVAL).

471a1672d4 PowerPC: Rename __kernel_vdso_get_tbfreq to __kernel_get_tbfreq. 
In order for the __kernel_get_tbfreq vDSO call to work the
INTERNAL_VSYSCALL_NCS macro needed to be updated to prevent it from
assuming an integer return type (since the timebase frequency is a 64-bit
value) by specifying the type of the return type as a macro parameter.  The
macro then specifically declares the return value as a 'register' (or
implied pair) of the denoted type.  The compiler is then informed that this
register (or implied pair) is to be used for the return value.

4d55b4e596 Add assert for potential access beyond array bounds in m1np 
The mpexp code has an access into m1np:

  for (i=n-1; i>0; i--,n--) { if (m1np[i][p]+m2>0) break; }

which could break for p >= 18 or i >= 7.  Fortunately this code is
never called due to the way the exp function is implemented since
values having exponent less than -55 return 1.0.  Make sure that if it
gets called in future, it is trapped.

573cd4843a soft-fp: Fix used without set warning in _FP_MUL and _FP_DIV 
Seen in, e.g. ports/sysdeps/alpha/soft-fp/ots_mul.c.

The problem here is we have a switch on the class of X*Y, followed by
a switch on the class of R.  The exponent field of R really is not set
by the first switch for NaN outputs, because we know it's not going to
be used.  The compiler is not smart enough to see through this.

By pulling the exponent computation out of the NORMAL*NORMAL path, we
will not be pessimizing the most common case, while still providing an
arbitrary value to satisfy the compiler.

Some arches do not have a __NR_fadvise64 but do have __NR_fadvise64_64.
If the former is unavailable, fallback to the latter.

c9d6789ebe byteswap.h: fix gcc ver test for __builtin_bswap{32,64} 
The __builtin_bswap* functions were introduced in gcc-4.3, not gcc-4.2.
Fix the __GNUC_PREREQ tests to reflect this.

Otherwise trying to compile code with gcc-4.2 falls down:

eb6cbd249f [BZ #12724] libio: revert partial POSIX 2008 fclose support 
In BZ #12724, partial support for POSIX 2008 fclose behavior was added.
Since it isn't entirely conforming to the spec, some applications are
known to be breaking in this intermediate state.  So revert the partial
support until we can get things fully implemented.

This reverts commit fcabc0f8b1.

e19af3803b muntrace: reset file and hooks before finalizing the stream 
fclose will call free, invoking its hook, then fprintf which would indirectly
try to allocate a buffer, and this can cause malloc to be used (thus its hook
to be invoked) if libio uses malloc instead of mmap; given any malloc/free hook
locks the internal lock, this leads to a deadlock.

To prevent this hook roundtrip at muntrace, first unset MALLSTREAM and the
hooks, and only after that close the trace file.
