4c5f1f6114 Remove SK_SUPPORT_LEGACY_SAVEFLAGS define on Android
Android is the only platform still using SK_SUPPORT_LEGACY_SAVEFLAGS
(indirectly, due to SK_SUPPORT_LEGACY_CLIPTOLAYERFLAG).

At this point it should be safe to remove the define.

The arcto() used by SVG in Chrome and Android is ported here, using conics

b6474dd1a5 fix circular dashing
Path measure cannot use the same code approach for quadratics
and cubics. Subdividing cubics repeatedly does not result in
subdivided t values, e.g. a quarter circle cubic divided in
half twice does not have a t value equivalent to 1/4.

Instead, always compute the cubic segment from a pair of
t values.

When finding the length of the cubic through recursive measures,
it is enough to carry the point at a given t to the next
subdivision.

(Chrome suppression has landed already.)

a9fbd1676c Fix SkTileImageFilter when srcRect is a superset of bitmap bounds.
If the input bitmap passed to SkTileImageFilter does not fill the
srcRect, we were tiling this incorrectly (see the first sample
from tileimage filter -- it draws from a srcRect of 12,12 50x50
to a dstRect of 0,0 50x50. There should be no tiling at all
in this case!)

In order to fix this, we need to pad the bitmap out to srcRect,
and tile with that. In order to tile correctly in the GPU case,
we need to request a tileable texture.

NOTE: this will change the results of the tileimagefilter GM (correctness,
and added src / dest rects).

defa0daa6a Clean up SkXfermode_opts.h
It seems that MSVC + __vectorcall don't play well together,
so back ourselves out into a situation where we don't need it.

   - Inline transfermode functions. This removes the need for SK_VECTORCALL.
   - Remove 565 destination specializations.
     Blending into 565 is not speed-critical enough to merit the code bloat.
   - Removing 565 specializations means a bunch of Sk4px code is now dead.

8888 xfermodes generally speed up a bit from inlining, smoothly ranging from no change down to 0.65x for the fastest functions like Plus or Modulate.

565 xfermodes generally slow down because we're doing 565 -> 8888 and 8888->565 conversion serially[1] and using the stack, smoothly ranging from no change up to 2x slower for the fastest functions like Plus and Modulate.

[1] the 565->8888 conversion is actually being autovectorized

221524de3b Start using <type_traits> and <utility> (C++11).
SkUtility.h and SkTLogic.h implement a number of type traits now
available through <type_traits> and <utility>. This removes SkUtility.h,
replacing it with <utility>, and moves a number of traits in
SkTLogic.h to use the std:: equivelents. This change only uses C++11
parts of the standard library; SkTLogic.h will continue to provide
C++14 and beyond for now in the skstd namespace.

The changes to SkTLogic.h are being done gradually so that safe changes
may be landed confidently, with more risky changes in the future.

05dd251e5e take gr-context parameter to refEncoded, indicating a desire for only gpu-specific formats
Prime motivator:
- we always call refEncoded on the generator when trying to upload
   - we call it *before* we ask for raster or YUV
- for blink, this call can be very slow, as they have to cons-up their SkData the first time (and grab a mutex to do it)
- this parameter will indicate to them that we're only interested in gpu formats, which they will know if they have.

6df611574a handle halfway case in scan converter
Scan edges that start at exactly -0.5 aren't trimmed by
clipping or by rounding, triggering a debug assert.

One way to fix this is to round the top and left
down instead of up.

Also, move the path initialization of gm/composeshader.cpp
to make debugging other path problems easier.

627769144d Create a hash table from id<-->key in SkImageFilter::CacheImpl
There is memory leak in the SkImageFilter::Cache. There are two sources
of memory leak:
1. The cache filling up quickly.
2. A slow small leak that never stops.
This CL solves the first issue, which prevents the cache filling up quickly.
This CL creates a new hash table that index the
SkImageFilter::uniqueID to an array of keys, and with the existing
key<-->Value hash table, we can have SkImageFilters proactively
purge content derived cached content when destroyed.

c8b4336444 Add config options to run different GPU APIs to dm and nanobench
Add extended config specification form that can be used to run different
gpu backend with different APIs.

The configs can be specified with the form:
gpu(api=string,dit=bool,nvpr=bool,samples=int)

This replaces and removes the --gpuAPI flag.

All existing configs should still work.

Adds following documentation:

out/Debug/dm --help config

Flags:
    --config:	type: string	default: 565 8888 gpu nonrendering
        Options: 565 8888 debug gpu gpudebug gpudft gpunull msaa16 msaa4
        nonrendering null nullgpu nvprmsaa16 nvprmsaa4 pdf pdf_poppler skp svg
        xps or use extended form 'backend(option=value,...)'.

        Extended form: 'backend(option=value,...)'

        Possible backends and options:

        gpu(api=string,dit=bool,nvpr=bool,samples=int)	GPU backend
        	api	type: string	default: native.
        	    Select graphics API to use with gpu backend.
        	    Options:
        		native Use platform default OpenGL or OpenGL ES backend.
        		gl    			Use OpenGL.
        		gles  			Use OpenGL ES.
        		debug 			Use debug OpenGL.
        		null  			Use null OpenGL.
        	dit	type: bool	default: false.
        	    Use device independent text.
        	nvpr	type: bool	default: false.
        	    Use NV_path_rendering OpenGL and OpenGL ES extension.
        	samples	type: int	default: 0.
        	    Use multisampling with N samples.

        Predefined configs:

        	gpu      	= gpu()
        	msaa4    	= gpu(samples=4)
        	msaa16   	= gpu(samples=16)
        	nvprmsaa4	= gpu(nvpr=true,samples=4)
        	nvprmsaa16	= gpu(nvpr=true,samples=16)
        	gpudft    	= gpu(dit=true)
        	gpudebug  	= gpu(api=debug)
        	gpunull   	= gpu(api=null)

f5d1f8dcc8 Create a hash table from id<-->key in SkImageFilter::CacheImpl

The minimal fix here seems to be handling BoxBlur's return value in SkBlurMaskFilter.cpp::GrRRectBlurEffect::Create. We seem to do enough special handling of the fImage field though that always initialializing it may not be a bad idea.

19b0420e87 SkPreConfig.h: Allow defined(__unix__) to imply SK_BUILD_FOR_UNIX
This is more general than checking for __linux, __FreeBSD__, etc. (In
principle we could remove some of the existing checks such as
__FreeBSD__, but I have not tried that so far.)

In particular, it allows Skia to build with the NaCl or PNaCl
toolchains, which is something we would like for Mojo.

e13ca329fc Add config options to run different GPU APIs to dm and nanobench
Add extended config specification form that can be used to run different
gpu backend with different APIs.

The configs can be specified with the form:
gpu(api=string,dit=bool,nvpr=bool,samples=int)

This replaces and removes the --gpuAPI flag.

All existing configs should still work.

Adds following documentation:

out/Debug/dm --help config

Flags:
    --config:	type: string	default: 565 8888 gpu nonrendering
        Options: 565 8888 debug gpu gpudebug gpudft gpunull msaa16 msaa4
        nonrendering null nullgpu nvprmsaa16 nvprmsaa4 pdf pdf_poppler skp svg
        xps or use extended form 'backend(option=value,...)'.

        Extended form: 'backend(option=value,...)'

        Possible backends and options:

        gpu(api=string,dit=bool,nvpr=bool,samples=int)	GPU backend
        	api	type: string	default: native.
        	    Select graphics API to use with gpu backend.
        	    Options:
        		native Use platform default OpenGL or OpenGL ES backend.
        		gl    			Use OpenGL.
        		gles  			Use OpenGL ES.
        		debug 			Use debug OpenGL.
        		null  			Use null OpenGL.
        	dit	type: bool	default: false.
        	    Use device independent text.
        	nvpr	type: bool	default: false.
        	    Use NV_path_rendering OpenGL and OpenGL ES extension.
        	samples	type: int	default: 0.
        	    Use multisampling with N samples.

        Predefined configs:

        	gpu      	= gpu()

db64af3b17 Fix filter primitive bounds computations.
Make each filter responsible for expanding its destination
bounds. Previously, we were using a union of all
intermediate bounds sizes via join() calls in many image
filters' computeFastBounds(), due to the fact that those
filters could only produce bitmaps the same size as their
inputs. Now, we compute optimal bounds for each filter as
follows:

1) Pass the (unmodified) clip bounds to the root node
of the DAG in the first recursive call to onFilterImage()
as the Context's fClipBounds.

2) Reverse-map the clip: when recursing up the DAG in
filterInput[GPU](), apply filter-specific expansion to the
clip by calling calling onFilterNodeBounds(... kReverse).
This allows upstream nodes to have a clip that respects the
current node's requirements. This is done via helper
function mapContext().

3) Forward-map the source bitmap: just prior to applying
the crop rect in applyCropRect(), we determine the filter's
preferred bounds by mapping the source bitmap bounds
forwards via onFilterNodeBounds(..., kForward).

NOTE: GMs affected by this change:
fast_slow_blurimagefilter: fast and slow paths now produce the same result
spritebitmap: drawSprite() and drawBitmap() paths now produce the same result
filterfastbounds: fast bounds are optimized; all drop-shadow results now appear
apply-filter: snug and not-snug cases give same results
dropshadowimagefilter: drawSprite() results now show shadows
draw-with-filter: no artifacts on erode edges; blur edges no longer clipped
displacement, imagefiltersbase, imagefiltersclipped, imagefilterscropexpand, imagefiltersscaled, matriximagefilter,
resizeimagefilter, localmatriximagefilter, testimagefilters: fixed incorrect clipping
imagefilterstransformed, morphology: no artifacts on erode edges

cc881dafcb Add sk_careful_memcpy to catch undefined behavior in memcpy.
It's undefined behavior to pass null as src or dst to memcpy, even if len is 0.
This currently triggers -fsanitize=attribute-nonnull warnings, but also can
lead to very unexpected code generation with GCC.

sk_careful_memcpy() checks len first before calling memcpy(),
which prevents that weird undefined situation.

This allows me to mark all sanitizers as no-recover, i.e. make-the-bots-red fatal.

d61c384342 Allow SkStream::peek() to partially succeed
If the stream can peek less than requested, peek that amount. Return
the number of bytes peeked.

This simplifies crrev.com/1472123002. For a stream that is smaller than
14 bytes, it can successfully peek, meaning the client will not need to
fall back to read() + rewind(), which may fail if the stream can peek
but not rewind.

This CL revives code from patch set 3 of crrev.com/1044953002, where I
initially introduced peek() (including tests).

Add a test for SkFrontBufferedStream that verifies that peeking does
not make rewind() fail (i.e. by reading past the internal buffer).

a544eda5dd Matrix convolution bounds fix; affectsTransparentBlack fixes.
Because the convolution kernel is (currently) applied in device space,
there's no way to know which object-space pixels will be touched. So
return false from canComputeFastBounds().

The results from the matrixconvolution GM were actually wrong, since
they were showing edge differences on the clip boundaries, where they
should really only show on crop boundaries. I added a crop to the GM
to keep the results the same (which are useful to test the different
convolution tile modes).

While I was at it, SkImageFilter::affectsTransparentBlack() was
inapplicable on most things except color filters, and its use on
leaf nodes was confusing. So I removed it, and made
SkImageFilter::canComputeFastBounds() virtual instead.

e47f1a7c74 Fix UB in SkDivBits
This used to:
  DIVBITS_ITER was shifting bits up into the sign bit, which is a no-no.
  This turns numer into a uint32_t to make those defined, and adds a few notes.

  x >= 0 is always true for unsigned x, so we needed a few small logic refactors.

Instead it now:
  Only call SkDivBits if the old behavior is required.
  Usually, just do the divide with /.

897c993763 Pack and align SkStrokeRec to 4-byte boundary.
The new key for the distance field path cache will contain an
SkStrokeRec. This change guarantees that we don't have any hidden
padding that has garbage values, thereby preventing apparently
equal keys from hashing to two different values. This also has
the nice effect of reducing the size of SkStrokeRec from 24 bytes
to 16 bytes.

cd49541524 For non-opaque SkBitmapDevices, replace malloc-then-zero with calloc.
There seem about a zillion possible ways to slice this.
This adds and uses SkMallocPixelRef::ZeroedPRFactory.
I'm not married to it.

This appears to clear up a hot spot in the benchmark referenced in this bug:
BUG=516426
I'm not confident enough on Windows to declare that definitively yet.

It probably helps all other non-opaque layers too. Possibly significantly.

So I don't forget, I profiled this:

94dd7a52d3 change back to method for localmatrix imagefilter
This method is different from MatrixFilter, in that MatrixFilter does not require a pre-existing
filter, but LocalM does. Also change the comment to be more general, as there is no promise that
we return a different subclass, and certainly not a specific subclass.

This pattern of obj->newWithModifiers() also more closely matches the pattern in SkImage (newSubset).

88d064d0e4 add applyFilter() to SkImage
Result:
- clients can get a filtered version of an image without having to setup a temp drawing environment
- for some cases, the process is more efficient even than (deprecated) drawSprite, since there is no need to draw/copy the result

Impl:
- made Proxy virtual so we don't need to have an existing device to use it

This, in conjunction with LocalMatrixImageFilter, should allow us to simplify and optimize ApplyImageFilter() in cc/output/gl_renderer.cc

We landed this originally with lazily-correct sequentially-consistent memory
order. It turns out that's regressed performance, we think particularly when
recording paths. We also think there's no need for anything but relaxed memory
order here.

We should see this chart go down if all goes well: https://perf.skia.org/#4329
There are also Chrome performance charts to watch in the linked bug.

00d6e515e5 Eliminate some clutter in SkFlattenable
The Registrar class is unnecessary, as SkFlattenable factory
registration is now handled via initialization routines that can just
call the Register function directly.

Also, no need to lazily initialize gCount to 0, as initializing an int
to a constant value does not require dynamic initialization. (C++
actually guarantees zero initialization of global ints anyway, but
existing practice in Skia appears to favor the explicit "= 0").

Relatedly, this requires removing the unused/unimplemented
SkLayerDrawLooper::MyRegistrar class. And removing that allows Clang
to realize that SkLayerDrawLooper::fTopRec is unneeded too, so remove
that too to squelch the compiler warning/error.

This doesn't change any public API.

85d9178832 Use SkImageCacherator in SkImages
Possible follow-up changes to consider

1. Roll SkImage_Raster and _Gpu into _Generator, where the generator (or cacherator) is backed by a pre-existing texture or raster.
2. Evolve SkImageUsageType into a verb requiring stretching, and have the caller (common code) digest the caps() and usage, so that subclasses are just told what to do (stretch or not)
3. Common code/utility to convert an unstretched texture into a stretch one (and cache it) if the generator can only make an unstretched one.

6c59d80858 Port uses of SkLazyPtr to SkOncePtr.
This gives SkOncePtr a non-trivial destructor that uses std::default_delete
by default. This is overrideable, as seen in SkColorTable.

SK_DECLARE_STATIC_ONCE_PTR still just leaves its pointers hanging at EOP.

a1254acdb3 Port uses of SkLazyPtr to SkOncePtr.
This gives SkOncePtr a non-trivial destructor that uses std::default_delete
by default. This is overrideable, as seen in SkColorTable.

SK_DECLARE_STATIC_ONCE_PTR still just leaves its pointers hanging at EOP.

b2885d59bc Document SkString::resize(int) as destructive.
It is easy to think in some cases that SkString::resize(int) is not
destructive, since optimizations mean that most of the time the data
is still there after a resize. However, in the general case, the
original string's data is lost and the new SkString contains garbage.

5ef194c31a Suppress embedding fonts when the skp's fonts match the OS fonts.
The million SKPs generated require >5T of storage. A good deal
of that are copies of system fonts.

Chrome built with
#DEFINE SK_WHITELIST_SERIALIZED_TYPEFACES
will omit the font data if the font matches a precomputed
checksum.

The captured SKP prepends sk_ to the names of fonts that
have their data omitted. The SKP consumer can either add
renamed fonts from the recording machine, or add

gDeserializeTypefaceDelegate = WhitelistDeserializeTypeface;

which strips the sk_ prefix when deserializing typefaces.

whitelist_typefaces --check
Computes the checksums of fallback
fonts and returns 0 if the checksums match the checked-in
file SkWhitelistChecksum.cpp.

whitelist_typefaces --generate
Writes an updated version of SkWhitelistChecksum.cpp.

Re-land; layout tests are suppressed and gm differences are understood.
A merge conflict prevented a automatic reland.

60e0fee6d4 Remove include of stdlib.h from SkTypes.h.
Unfortunately, immintrin.h (which is also included by SkTypes)
includes xmmintrin.h which includes mm_malloc.h which includes
stdlib.h for malloc even though, from the implementation, it is
difficult to see why.

Fortunately, arm_neon.h does not seem to be involved in such
shenanigans, so building for Android will keep things sane.

afd7c74972 Remove SK_OFFSETOF from SkTypes, clean up offsetof usage.
The motivation for this was to remove SK_OFFSETOF from SkTypes, but
this CL is mostly about cleaning up our use of offsetof generally.

SK_OFFSETOF is removed to SkTypes and added to the two places it is
actually used (for the non standard behavior of finding the offset of
fields in types which are not standard layout).

Older versions of gcc required POD for offsetof to be used without
warning. Newer versions require the more relaxed standard layout.
Now that we no longer build on older versions of gcc, remove the
old warning suppressions.

PODMatrix is renamed to AggregateMatrix. SkMatrix is already POD
(trivial and standard layout). The PODMatrix name implies that the
POD-ness is needed for the offsetof, but it is actually the aggregate
attribute which is needed for compile time constant initialization.
This makes it more obvious that this can be revisited after we can
rely on constexpr constructors.

This also adds skstd::declval since this allows removal of existing
awkward code which casts a constant to a pointer to find the size of
a field.

TBR=reed@google.com

5141d90796 Add build targets for advanced Intel instruction sets (1 of 3).
CL (1 of 3) adds empty lists in our .gypi,
and builds the files in those empty lists with the appropriate flags.

CL (2 of 3) will have Chrome's GYP and GN files read these lists,
and build them with the appropriate flags.

CL (3 of 3) will add runtime detection and stub files to the lists
with empty Init_sse42(), Init_avx(), Init_avx2() methods.

After that, we should be able to use SSE 4.2, AVX, and AVX2 if desired.

Some motivation:
  - SSE 4.2 adds some sweet string-oriented methods that
    can help us write fast high quality 32-bit hashes.
  - AVX is SSE doubled, e.g. 8 floats or two SkPMFloat at a time.
  - AVX2 is SSE2 doubled, e.g. 8 pixels at a time.

915881fe74 Implement canComputeFastBounds() for image filters.
Image filters have never implemented this check, which means that
filters which affect transparent black falsely claim they can compute
their bounds.

Implemented an affectsTransparentBlack() virtual for image
filters, and a similar helper function for color filters.

This will affect the following GMs: imagefiltersscaled

colorfilterimagefilter (new test case), imagefiltersclipped
(perlin noise now filters to clip).

Note: I de-inlined SkPaint::canComputeFastBounds() to avoid adding

0c263fa9f8 Deduplicate typefaces across sub-pictures
Old flow to serialize a picture:
   1) serialize picture ops
   2) serialize all sub pictures recursively
   3) flatten the rest of this picture into a buffer, deduping flattenable factories and typefaces as we go
   4) serialize the factories and typefaces
   5) serialize the bytes from 3)

This allows the data in step 5) to refer to the deduplicated factories and typefaces from step 4). But, each sub picture in step 2) is completely siloed, so they can't dedup with the parent picture or each other.

New flow:
   1) serialize picture ops
   2) flatten the rest of this picture into a buffer, deduping flattenable factories and typefaces as we go
   3) dummy-serialize sub pictures into /dev/null, with the effect of adding any new typefaces to our dedup set
   4) serialize the factories and typefaces
   5) serialize the bytes from 2)
   6) serialize all sub pictures recursively, with perfect deduplication because of step 3).

Now all typefaces in the top-level picture and all sub pictures recursively should end up deduplicated in the top-level typeface set.

Decoding changes are similar: we just thread through the top-level typefaces to the sub pictures. What's convenient / surprising is that this new code correctly reads old pictures if we just have each picture prefer its local typeface set over the top-level one: old pictures always just use their own typefaces, and new pictures always use the top-level ones.

8f34372f7e Extend SkImageGenerator to support natively generated GrTextures. As part of this, added uniqueID() to the generator, and made it be in the same namespace is bitmaps, pixelrefs, images.
To do this, create SkImageCacherator, which wraps a generator and provides an
interface to get a cached answer for either the raster or texture output of
the generator.

84cd621670 Implement caching of filled paths in the tessellated path renderer.
Paths are cached as tessellated triangle meshes in vertex buffers on the GPU. Stroked paths are not (yet) cached.

Paths containing no curved segments (linear paths) are reused at all scales. Paths containing curved segments are reused within a scale tolerance threshold.

In order to invalidate the cache when an SkPath is changed or deleted,
this required implementing genID change notification in SkPath. This is
modelled almost exactly on SkPixelRef::GenIDChangeListener.
However, It does not currently implement the check for unique genIDs,
so notifiers will fire when the first instance of an SkPathRef
using a given genID is destroyed.

Another caveat is that you cannot successfully add a change notifier
to an empty path, since it uses the "canonical" empty path which is
never modified or destroyed. For this reason, we prevent adding
listeners to it.
