53953b457b Create jsondiff tool to capture diffs between two JSON expectations files. 
This will be used to view diffs before committing rebaselines, or to review
exactly what changed between two baseline revisions in the past.

f1754ec691 Replace SkPicture(SkStream) constructors with a factory. 
SkPicture:
Remove the constructors which take an SkStream as an argument. Rather
than having to check a variable for success, the factory will return
NULL on failure.
Add a protected function for determining if an SkStream is an SKP
to share code with SkTimedPicture.
In the factory, check for a NULL SkStream.
Use a default decoder (from BUG:
https://code.google.com/p/skia/issues/detail?id=1325)

SkDebuggerGUI:
Call SkPicture::CreateFromStream when necessary.
Write a factory for creating SkTimedPictures and use it.

Use the factory throughout tools.

Add include/lazy to utils and effects gyp include_dirs so SkPicture.h
can reference SkImageDecoder.h which references SkBitmapFactory.h (in
include/lazy).

Changes code Chromium uses, so this will require a temporary Skia
and then a change to Chromium to use the new Skia code.

TODO: Create a decoder that does nothing to be used by pinspect,
lua pictures, etc, and allow it to not assert in SkOrderedReadBuffer.

344cf45a40 *** Perlin noise GM needs to be rebaselined *** 
Enabling Perlin Noise on Android

I enabled the Perlin Noise shader on Android after doing some minor modifications to the shader, specifically for Android (and #ifdefed for Android, to make sure none of this affects other platforms).

For Tegra devices (Nexus 7, Xoom), a precision issue related to the color values read from textures caused the noise to read the wrong indices and produce bad noise. I fixed this by adding a founding of the values read by simply doing the equivalent of "colorValue = floor(colorValue * 255.0) / 255.0" to make sure we retrieve the colors that were written in the texture originally.

For non-Tegra devices (Nexus 10), dealing with values in the order of 4096.0 was problematic without using the "highp" precision setting. To solve this, a few variables were given the high precision setting.

Since both fixes don't seem to do considerable harm to the platforms that are not being targetted, I left both fixes on all android devices for now.

I also reduced the Perlin noise gm so that it takes less time to test it on the Xoom (Original time was about 20 seconds, this shold take less than 10, hopefully)

2bbc2c945b Add an option to create unpremultiplied bitmaps. 
Currently they cannot be used directly by Skia, but
the pixels can be used elsewhere.

SkImageDecoder:
Add functions to require unpremultiplied output
and query the presence of the requirement

SkImageDecoder_libpng:
SkImageDecoder_libwebp:
SkImageDecoder_WIC:
Respect the requirement for unpremultiplied output.
TODO: Fix SkImageDecoder_CG.

SkScaledBitmapSampler:
Add procs to skip premultiplication and a boolean
parameter to use those procs.

ImageDecodingTest:
Test unpremultiplied bitmap decoding.

SampleUnpremul:
Add a sample which allows visually comparing between the
unpremultiplied version (copied into a premultiplied bitmap,
since drawing unpremultiplied is not currently supported)
and a premultiplied version of image files.

gm.h:
Add a getter for the resource path, so Samples can use it.

86fc266eda Implement SkXfermode image filter. This required changing the signature of SkXfermode::asNewEffectOrCoeffs(), to add an optional background texture. 
For the raster path, we do a straightforward 2-pass method: draw background, then composite the foreground over it.

For the GPU path, if the xfermode can be expressed as an effect, we build an effect with the background texture incorporated, then do a single-pass draw fetching both foreground and background textures, and compositing to the result. If the xfermode is expressed as src/dst coefficients, we do a 2-pass draw as in the raster path and use fixed-function blending.

9a6eb0e1e8 Provide a GPU implementation of SkArithmeticMode, using a custom GrEffect exposed via asNewEffectOrCoeff(). 
Doing it this way required modifying the arithmode GM to use saveLayer()/restore() rather than creating an offscreen SkBitmap, since otherwise the compositing is always done in raster mode. Fixing that in turn exposed that SkArithmeticMode did not work in Picture mode, since it wasn't flattenable. Made it so.

Note: this will require rebaselining the arithmode GM (again).

66070a527c Changing SkDeferredCanvas to use factories for creation 
The objective of this change is to remove all calls to 
SkCanvas::setDevice. The factory API is hidden behind
a build flag in order to ease the roll into chromium.

A side-effect of the factory pattern is that it will
no longer be possible to allocate a SkDeferredCanvas on
the stack.  This changes nothing for chrome, but it
impacts skia test programs.

Build SkPathJoin and SkBasename on windows also.

Previous CL did not build on Windows because the two functions were
accidentally placed inside an ifdef that did not include windows.
Move the functions to the top of the file, and add a comment by the
endif for clarity.

Doing this so that, once we *do* start writing PDF checksums into the JSON

~ causes a matching test to always be skipped
^ requires the start of the test to match

c4ebdb03de Force linking with image decoders for images project. 
Previously, each tool that wanted to use image decoders
but did not specifically reference them had to create a
dummy function that references them in order to ensure
they are not stripped by the linker.

Instead of making each tool reference each image decoder,
do it once in SkImageDecoder.cpp. Now each tool will have
image decoders linked in, assuming it includes the images
project.

This fixes a bug where SKPs with encoded data could not
be read by bench_ or render_pictures.

74b7ffda68 Fixes for piping bitmaps with encoded data. 
Similar goals as https://codereview.chromium.org/14437012.

Builds on patch set 1 from that issue
(https://codereview.chromium.org/14437012/#ps1).

Instead of the changes in patch set 2 from that issue, this
changes SkOrderedWriteBuffer::writeBitmap to store whether an
SkBitmapHeap was used when to store the index of the SkBitmap.
SkOrderedReadBuffer::readBitmap now uses that information to
distinguish between using the heap and unflattening.

In addition, writeBitmap now records the width/height first in
all cases. If now SkBitmapHeapReader is attached, but an
SkBitmapHeap was used to record the bitmap, reading will fail
and provide the same red SkBitmap as in the case where the
SkBitmap was encoded but could not be decoded.

Updates the PICTURE_VERSION as well.

The key differences in this CL to look at are in:
SkOrderedWriteBuffer,
SkOrderedReadBuffer,
and SkPicture.

58104a9c25 Treat default command line argument properly. 
In SkCommandLineFlags, if the client sets a default value
of multiple arguments (e.g. "arg0 arg1 ..."), set
the actual defaults to all of those arguments separately
(i.e. an array with [0] == "arg0", [1] == "arg1", ...),
rather than as one string (i.e. [0] == "arg0 arg1 ...").

Remove the hack that worked around this bug.

Also move the increasingly complicated implementation of
SkFlagInfo::CreateStringFlag into the cpp file.

d9dfa18372 Encode images with DCTDecode (JPEG) in PDFs if it makes sense. Fallback to FlateDecode (zip) if it makes sense. Otherewise include uncompressed stream.

b7dbf633a6 Fix an SkCommandLineFlags bug. 
Previously I was storing an SkTDArray of const char*,
which fails if the strings go out of scope.

Instead, store an SkTArray of SkString, and copy the
strings, so we do not depend on the strings sticking
around. Using an SkTArray because it is smart enough
to call the destructors, so the copies can be destroyed
on program exit.

f707adc4f8 augmenting fix in 8700 and 8701, be careful NOT to "sort" the result of mapRect 
when we only want to proceed if the matrix is nearly identity. Hence we manually
apply the matrix to the two "points" of the rect.

7fd2d70ad3 Delete gm after use. 
Fixes a memory leak when using the --modulo flag. Instead of deleting
manually in each case we are done with it (which led to missing one
case), use an SkAutoTDelete.

aef2d3b14e Run mixedxfermodes GM through the pipe. 
Pass the size of the GM to SkGPipeWriter.startRecording(), so that
calls to getDeviceSize() on the returned SkCanvas return a reasonable
result. This allows removing the flag to skip mixedxfermodes.

604e0c249e SkFlags now follows proper dashing convention. 
Two dashes are used for flags with multiple characters, and one
dash is used for flags with single characters.

In GM, changed '-wp' to '-p' (the command to choose a directory
for writing SKPs) to fit with the convention.

In render_pictures and bench_pictures, changed the flag for
read and write path to have full names (which are consistent)
and use the old single character names as their shortcuts.

SkCommandLineFlags: Updated the documentation, and only allow
-h or --help for help (again, to match the convention).
Also enforce the single character limit for the short name, and
require the full name to be at least two characters.

Provide full names for skhello.

This name is more specific to what it actually does.

Also move the code into tools/flags, to (slightly) better organize
the massive tools folder.

7d519305bb Make gm use SkFlags. 
Make flag parser its own project. It is still in the tools folder,
but can now be used by other projects.

Some changes to behavior in order to work with SkFlags:
enable-missing-warning and disable-missing-warning have become
enableMissingWarning and noenableMissingWarning.

exclude-config is now excludeConfig

--config now can only be listed once, but all configs listed
after it will be included (same with excludeConfig and match).

In addition, writeJsonSummary has been changed to
writeJsonSummaryPath for consistency with other path flags.

Provide an option to SkFlags to provide a short name, and use
it for the flags which have short names.

--tileGridReplayScales now takes space separated arguments,
like other inputs.

In SkLruImageCache, provide an option to keep all pixels, and document
the new behavior.

29b19e53cf Change SkTileGride geometry calculations to match the Chromium compositor. 
This patch changes the semantics of tileWidth/Height to include the border region, and
uses an offset to take into account the fact that there is no outer border for outer
tiles. This patch also fixes a previous bug where the right column and bottom row were
considered to be included in bounds that are expressed as an SkIRect.

f8d7d27313 Create SkLazyPixelRef which performs lazy decoding. 
The new pixel ref behaves similarly to SkImageRef, with some key differences:
It does not depend on the images project.
It requires an SkImageCache, which handles allocation and caching of the pixel
memory.
It takes a function signature for decoding which decodes into already allocated
pixel memory rather than into an SkBitmap.

Add two implementations of SkImageCache: SkLruImageCache and SkAshmemImageCache.

Replace SkSerializationHelpers::DecodeBitmap with SkPicture::InstallPixelRefProc,
and update sites that referenced it.

SkBitmapFactory now sets the pixel ref to a new object of the new
class SkLazyPixelRef, provided it has an SkImageCache for caching.

Provide an option to do lazy decodes in render_pictures and bench_pictures.

SkPicture:
Eliminate the default parameters in the constructor.
If a proc for decoding bitmaps is installed, use it to decode any encoded
data in subpictures.
When parsing deserializing subpictures, check for success.
When serializing subpictures, pass the picture's bitmap encoder to the
subpicture's call to serialize.

Update BitmapFactoryTest to test its new behavior.

7312a18327 Remove a workaround in gm/xfermodes.cpp 
We were performing a deep copy of the pixels in a SkBitmap to work around a bug where drawing an SkBitmap whose pixel memory was set with setPixels to an SkPicture did not preserve the pixel memory.

Since the workaround was written, we have fixed the bug in two ways:
1. If setPixels is called with a pointer, we wrap the pixels in an SkPixelRef.
2. Picture recording now makes a deep copy of mutable bitmaps.

Also switch to using onOnceBeforeDraw, an existing feature on GM that performs the purpose of the init function.

Implement a bicubic resampling image filter, with raster and GPU backends.
In order to get this to work on the GPU side, I had to modify the width and height of the drawn texture in drawSprite() and drawDevice() to use the filtered texture's dimensions, instead of the source texture.  (This wasn't a problem before since all other image filters produce results the same dimensions as their input texture.)
For now, this implementation only does axis-aligned scaling (same as the Lanczos-3 implementation in Chrome).  It's also done for correctness and clarity, not speed, so there are lots of opportunities for speedups.

Therefore, skai benchmarks should run with this flag enabled, and we need 
gm and render_pictures test coverage to validate it.  In gm, the vanilla

05af1afd42 eliminate all warnings in non-thirdparty code on mac 
Most of these issues were due to functions whose definitions appear in header files; I changed those functions to be 'static inline' instead of just 'static' or 'inline', which kills the warning for such functions.

Other functions that were static or anonymous-namespaced but were unused in cpp files were probably called at some point but are no longer; someone who knows more than I do should probably scrub all the functions I either deleted or #if 0'ed out and make sure that the right thing is happening here.

Lots of unused variables removed, and one nasty const issue handled.

There remains a single warning in thirdparty/externals/cityhash/src/city.cc on line 146 related to a signed/unsigned mismatch.  I don't know if we have control over this library so I didn't fix this one, but perhaps someone could do something about that one.

3cb834bd27 Modifying SkTileGrid to support arbitrary query rectangles.

9f686f3639 Create a factory to decode an SkBitmap from an SkData. 
Add a test and a GM for the factory, and a PNG file for it to decode.
The PNG file is copyright-free, obtained from

In cmykjpeg, do not attempt to decode in the constructor, since it
currently crashes on Mac (if you provide the correct resource path).
Even when we fix this crash there is no need to do it in the
constructor, since we create all of the gms in order to
get their names (to determine whether to run them).

9f25de7900 This patch implements generalized DAG connectivity for SkImageFilter. SkImageFilter maintains a list of inputs, which can be constructed either from a SkImageFilter** or zero or more SkImageFilter* arguments (varargs). 
Existing filters which maintained their own filter connectivity were refactored to use the new constructors and flattening/unflattening code.  Modifying the remaining filters which are not yet DAG-friendly is left for future work; they are considered to have zero inputs for now.

5a7c6be72b Add the ability to provide function pointers to SkPicture serialization 
and deserialization for encoding and decoding bitmaps.

Remove kForceFlattenBitmapPixels_Flag, which is no longer used.

When an SkOrderedReadBuffer needs to read a bitmap, if it does not
have an image decoder, use a dummy bitmap.

In GM, add a tolerance option for color differences, used when
testing picture serialization, so it can assume two images are the
same even though PNG encoding/decoding may have resulted in small
differences.

Create dummy implementations for SkImageDecoder and SkImageEncoder
functions in SkImageDecoder_empty so that a project that does not
want to include the images project it can still build.

Allow ports to build without images project.

In Mac's image encoder, copy 4444 to 8888 before encoding.

Add SkWriter32::reservePad, to provide a pointer to write non 4 byte
aligned data, padded with zeroes.

In bench_ and render_ pictures, pass decode function to SkPicture
creation from a stream.

3bc16c8bc1 Implement GPU path for matrix convolution. Note that when not convolving alpha, 
the premultiplying is done less efficiently than in the raster path:  it's
done on each texture access, rather than as a pre-processing pass.   This was
so I could do the filter as a single custom stage; will try the optimization
separately.

This implementation gives a ~30X speedup on the GPU results for the
matrixconvolution bench (~10X due to the GPU, and ~3X due to texture
uploads/readback removal).

Note:  this changes the matrixconvolution for the software path as well, so
it will likely break the bots until that test is rebaselined.

4837724a7e add test for rotated saveLayer, to see that we clip against the specified bounds

5987f58036 build iOS with 'make all' 
This builds all skia tests by treating iOS tools
as executable applications. A few warnings were
fixed as well.

Removed old trace draw code and remnants.
