b1475b0d41 Add SkPath::isLastContourClosed()
Adds a simple method for checking if the last command/verb in the
current contour is a 'close'.

This will simplify determining "closedness" for blink::Path, and aid
in the implementation of algorithms such as:

b6474dd1a5 fix circular dashing
Path measure cannot use the same code approach for quadratics
and cubics. Subdividing cubics repeatedly does not result in
subdivided t values, e.g. a quarter circle cubic divided in
half twice does not have a t value equivalent to 1/4.

Instead, always compute the cubic segment from a pair of
t values.

When finding the length of the cubic through recursive measures,
it is enough to carry the point at a given t to the next
subdivision.

(Chrome suppression has landed already.)

702501ddca Simplify path allocation, clean up resources correctly
Simplify path id allocation in NVPR backend. Instead of using
an AVL tree of path id ranges for the first 65535 ids, use just
a simple stategy of overallocation and "bump index".

Fixes the bug where previously overallocated ids were not deleted.

The advantage is that the implementation is simple and all allocations
go through overallocation, not just the first 65535 of the 1-range
allocations.

Removes the logic where paths were cleared with setting path data to
null instead of deleting the whole path. Now deleted paths are just
deleted normally. These operations should have equivalent performance on
command buffer. Deleting the path should enable the driver to do more
maintainance.

Removes the GLNameAllocator, as it was only used for paths. In order for
it to be used for other IDs, it probably would need to be re-written to
support cleanup and arbitrary ranges. Also, the interface would probably
need to be changed to not requiring the block to be allocated before it
could be managed by the structure.

bad23dc9ed SkPaintFilterCanvas skip-draw support
At the time SkPaintFilterCanvas was introduced as a SkDrawFilter replacement,
no clients were relying on the draw veto logic. Now Chromium does.

To facilitate migrating off SkDrawFilter, let's augment SkPaintFilterCanvas
with skip-draw semantics.

A side effect of the CL is that now we call the filter virtual even for null
paints.

983dc2541a SkTreatAsSprite should take AA into account
Currently we always call SkTreatAsSprite with 0 subpixel bits, which means
subpixel translations are ignored. This is incorrect for the anti-aliased
case (drawSprite always pixel-snaps, so we lose edge AA).

The CL updates SkTreatAsSprite to take an SkPaint argument and use 8 subpixel
bits when AA is requested.

Also remove unused SkTreatAsSpriteFilter.

3405800d7a Make SkGLContext lifetime more well-defined
Remove refcounting from SkGLContext.

SkGLContext is expected to behave like GrContextFactory would own
it, as implied by the GrContextFactory function.

If it is refcounted, this does not hold.

Also other use sites, such as in SkOSWindow_win (command buffer gl
object), confirm the behavior. The object is explicitly owned and
destroyed, not shared.

Also fixes potential crashes from using GL context of an abandoned
context.

Also fixes potential crashes in DM/nanobench, if the GrContext lives
longer than GLContext through internal refing of GrContext.

Moves the non-trivial implementations from GrContextFactory.h to
.cpp, just for consistency sake.

Changes pathops_unittest.gyp. The pathops_unittest uses
GrContextFactory, but did not link to its implementation. The reason
they worked was that the implementation used (constructors, destructors)
happened to be in the .h file.

This works towards being able to use command buffer and NVPR from
the SampleApp.

221524de3b Start using <type_traits> and <utility> (C++11).
SkUtility.h and SkTLogic.h implement a number of type traits now
available through <type_traits> and <utility>. This removes SkUtility.h,
replacing it with <utility>, and moves a number of traits in
SkTLogic.h to use the std:: equivelents. This change only uses C++11
parts of the standard library; SkTLogic.h will continue to provide
C++14 and beyond for now in the skstd namespace.

The changes to SkTLogic.h are being done gradually so that safe changes
may be landed confidently, with more risky changes in the future.

279c786409 If we swap its arguments, SkTaskGroup::batch() _is_ sk_parallel_for.
Why have two names if we can get away with one?

This kills off sk_parallel_for_thread_count(), which was only used to avoid forcing a deadlock in OncePtrTest on multicore machines in singlethreaded mode... a really niche use case. Instead just don't explicitly force a race.

db7dc09e52 Remove SkImageMinRowBytes
As stated in the comments in crrev.com/1379193002, this method name is
misleading. It returns a larger number than the minimum rowbytes - it
increases to the next four-byte alignment. This has the effect that the
one place that calls it does not support 565 (which is not already
four-byte aligned), but does not serve any other purpose. Remove it and
the only call-site.

9cb5d755e7 fix bugs in path contains
Pull out the logic to check to see if the point is on the edge
so all curve types can share.

Reorder cubic to be like conic and quad so that mixed types
consider the curves consistently.

Don't count on curve points twice if they are on the end
and compute a zero cross product.

Remove logic that checks, when there are no roots, if the
point is closer to the top or the bottom (it's always the top).

Initialize the iterator correctly when it is accessing
the list of on point curves.

Use 'multiply' instead of 'subtract' to see if the vectors
are pointing in opposite directions.

Add more test cases.

c8b4336444 Add config options to run different GPU APIs to dm and nanobench
Add extended config specification form that can be used to run different
gpu backend with different APIs.

The configs can be specified with the form:
gpu(api=string,dit=bool,nvpr=bool,samples=int)

This replaces and removes the --gpuAPI flag.

All existing configs should still work.

Adds following documentation:

out/Debug/dm --help config

Flags:
    --config:	type: string	default: 565 8888 gpu nonrendering
        Options: 565 8888 debug gpu gpudebug gpudft gpunull msaa16 msaa4

        xps or use extended form 'backend(option=value,...)'.

        Extended form: 'backend(option=value,...)'

        Possible backends and options:

        gpu(api=string,dit=bool,nvpr=bool,samples=int)	GPU backend
        	api	type: string	default: native.
        	    Select graphics API to use with gpu backend.
        	    Options:
        		native Use platform default OpenGL or OpenGL ES backend.

        		null  			Use null OpenGL.
        	dit	type: bool	default: false.

        	nvpr	type: bool	default: false.
        	    Use NV_path_rendering OpenGL and OpenGL ES extension.
        	samples	type: int	default: 0.
        	    Use multisampling with N samples.

e13ca329fc Add config options to run different GPU APIs to dm and nanobench
Add extended config specification form that can be used to run different
gpu backend with different APIs.

The configs can be specified with the form:
gpu(api=string,dit=bool,nvpr=bool,samples=int)

This replaces and removes the --gpuAPI flag.

All existing configs should still work.

db64af3b17 Fix filter primitive bounds computations.
Make each filter responsible for expanding its destination
bounds. Previously, we were using a union of all
intermediate bounds sizes via join() calls in many image
filters' computeFastBounds(), due to the fact that those
filters could only produce bitmaps the same size as their
inputs. Now, we compute optimal bounds for each filter as
follows:

1) Pass the (unmodified) clip bounds to the root node
of the DAG in the first recursive call to onFilterImage()
as the Context's fClipBounds.

2) Reverse-map the clip: when recursing up the DAG in
filterInput[GPU](), apply filter-specific expansion to the
clip by calling calling onFilterNodeBounds(... kReverse).
This allows upstream nodes to have a clip that respects the
current node's requirements. This is done via helper
function mapContext().

3) Forward-map the source bitmap: just prior to applying
the crop rect in applyCropRect(), we determine the filter's
preferred bounds by mapping the source bitmap bounds
forwards via onFilterNodeBounds(..., kForward).

NOTE: GMs affected by this change:
fast_slow_blurimagefilter: fast and slow paths now produce the same result
spritebitmap: drawSprite() and drawBitmap() paths now produce the same result
filterfastbounds: fast bounds are optimized; all drop-shadow results now appear
apply-filter: snug and not-snug cases give same results
dropshadowimagefilter: drawSprite() results now show shadows
draw-with-filter: no artifacts on erode edges; blur edges no longer clipped
displacement, imagefiltersbase, imagefiltersclipped, imagefilterscropexpand, imagefiltersscaled, matriximagefilter,
resizeimagefilter, localmatriximagefilter, testimagefilters: fixed incorrect clipping
imagefilterstransformed, morphology: no artifacts on erode edges

db30be2f94 Make SkCodec support peek() and read()
- Update SkCodec's dox to point out that some of the data must be
  read twice in order to decode
- Add an accessor that reports how much is needed for reading twice
- Make SkCodec default to use peek()
  If an input stream supports peek()ing, peek() instead of reading.
  This way the stream need not implement rewind()
- Make SkCodec use read() + rewind() as a backup
  So that streams without peek() implemented can still function
  properly (assuming they can rewind).
- read everything we may need to determine the format once
  In SkCodec::NewFromStream, peek()/read() 14 bytes, which is enough
  to read all of the types we support. Pass the buffer to each subtype,
  which will have enough info to determine whether it is the right
  type. This simplifies the code and results in less reading and
  rewinding.
  - NOTE: SkWbmpCodec needs the following number of bytes for the header
    + 1 (type)
    + 1 (reserved)
    + 3 (width - bytes needed to support up to 0xFFFF)
    + 3 (height - bytes needed to support up to 0xFFFF)
    = 8
- in SkWebpCodec, support using read + rewind as a backup if peek does
  not work.

A change in Android will add peek() to JavaInputStreamAdapter.

d61c384342 Allow SkStream::peek() to partially succeed
If the stream can peek less than requested, peek that amount. Return
the number of bytes peeked.

This simplifies crrev.com/1472123002. For a stream that is smaller than
14 bytes, it can successfully peek, meaning the client will not need to
fall back to read() + rewind(), which may fail if the stream can peek
but not rewind.

This CL revives code from patch set 3 of crrev.com/1044953002, where I
initially introduced peek() (including tests).

Add a test for SkFrontBufferedStream that verifies that peeking does
not make rewind() fail (i.e. by reading past the internal buffer).

b9a1e34362 Support wbmp that are supported by SkImageDecoder
The wbmp version of SkImageDecoder will support decoding an image where
the second byte can be masked away with 0x9F. Prior to this CL, SkCodec
checked that the entire byte was zero. The SkCodec implementation
appears to be more correct (at least according to Wikipedia [1]), but
it also means we could regress if someone was using an image that did
not quite fit the specification.

8444913d2c Don't use SkRect::MakeLargest() for clip bounds in image filter tests.
Much of the Skia code dealing with clip bounds does not handle
overflow, so if we start doing any math on these rects, the code will
break. Use explicit reasonable values instead.

4a24398391 Fix SkMergeImageFilter crop rect computation.
The crop rect should be applied to the union of the input bounds, not
to the src input's bounds. These are often the same, since the saveLayer
offscreen size is computed as the union of all the required bounds, but
is not correct if the input primitive is not used (e.g., if all inputs
are connected to SkImageSources). But this will change as we
move to more accurate intermediate bounds computations (getting rid of the join() hacks as described in skbug.com/3194).

Since we can't know this without actually processing the inputs,
split SkMergeImageFilter processing into:

- filter all inputs
- applyCropRect to the union'ed bounds
- allocate the destination
- do the merge

1c9ce61050 fix pathops coincidence fuzz bug
Simplifying a series of rects with very large bounds
triggers a coincidence bug where, after one of the
intersection points that marks a coincident range
has been deleted, it is referenced.

Both the deletion and reference is (probably) happening
in the SkOpCoincidence::AddExpanded() phase of
HandleCoincidence(), and may signify a bug that could
happen with usable input data, but I haven't been
able to determine that.

For now, abort the Simplify() when the erroneous
condition is detected.

6c221b4068 Add SkNx_cast().
SkNx_cast() can cast between any of our vector types,
provided they have the same number of elements.

Any types should work with the default implementation,
and we can drop in specializations as needed, like the
SSE and NEON Sk4f -> Sk4i I included here as an example.

To make this work, I made some internal name changes:
    SkNi<N,T> -> SkNx<N, T>
    SkNf<N>   -> SkNx<N, float>
User aliases (Sk4f, Sk16b, etc.) stay the same.
We can land this first (it's PS1) if that makes things easier.

179a8f5f7f Generate list of GPU contexts outside SurfaceTest tests
Add support for feeding the tests with contexts directly to the unit
test framework.

This fixes the problem where tests are more complex than needed just in
order to run the test code with multiple backends.

Also makes it possible to change the logic how contexts are
created. Instead of direct numbering, the different testable contexts
may be generated from filtered cross-product of context options. For
example: currently NVPR is a type of context. However, it could be also
an on/off feature of any context. In order to test this kind of context,
the enumeration can not be just of context type. It's simpler
to move the enumeration out of the tests.

A test targeting both normal and GPU backends would look like:

static void test_obj_behavior(skiatest::Reporter* reporter,
    SkObj* obj, [other params] ) {
    ... test with obj and param ..
}
DEF_TEST(ObjBehavior, reporter) {
    for (auto& object : generate_object) {
        for (auto& other_param : generate_other_variant) {
	   test_obj_behavior(reporter, object, other_param);
	}
    }
}
#if SK_SUPPORT_GPU
DEF_GPUTEST_FOR_ALL_CONTEXTS(ObjBehavior_Gpu, reporter, context) {
    for (auto& object : generate_gpu_object) {
        for (auto& other_param : generate_other_variant) {
	   test_obj_behavior(reporter, object, other_param);
	}
    }
}
#endif

Uses the feature in SurfaceTests as an example.

Moves SkSurface -related tests from ImageTest to SurfaceTest.

fbe1c110ac [Reland] Fix NVPR assert for equivalent ovals
For oval paths, GrPath ignores the point order and only uses the bounds
when building its key. This is problematic because

1) point order is important when dashing
2) GrStencilAndCoverPathRenderer asserts that the lookup SkPath is equal
   to the cached SkPath - which is not the case for ovals with different
   directions/different point order.

With this CL we no longer use the reduced oval key when dashing, and
instead fall through to the more general path cases. The assert is
adjusted to accommodate "equivalent" ovals (when not dashing).

Also re-enabled & updated the GpuDrawPath unit test (disabled in
https://codereview.chromium.org/1456463003/, presumably due to the use

1) point order is important when dashing
2) GrStencilAndCoverPathRenderer asserts that the lookup SkPath is equal
   to the cached SkPath - which is not the case for ovals with different
   directions/different point order.

With this CL we no longer use the reduced oval key when dashing, and
instead fall through to the more general path cases. The assert is
adjusted to accommodate "equivalent" ovals (when not dashing).

Also re-enabled & updated the GpuDrawPath unit test (disabled in
https://codereview.chromium.org/1456463003/, presumably due to the use
of uninitialized SkRects).

195fe08421 simplify BlendTest.cpp
- streamline the testing down to just byte multiplies
    (that's always where the blend algorithms vary)
  - add another approximate multiply (x*y+255)>>8
  - add another variant of the perfect multiply, ((x*y+128)*257)>>16

I've realized ((x*y+128)*257)>>16 might be just as fast in SSE/NEON
as our current (x*y+x)>>8 approximation. Good to be testing it here.

ef784fb7f5 More conic-specific tests revealed a few conic-specific bugs. Because javascript / canvas make visualizing conics tricky, new native tools are required.
The utility SubsetPath removes parts of a potentially very large path to isolate a minimal test case. SubsetPath is very useful for debugging path ops, but is not path ops specific.

PathOpsBuilderConicTest compares the output of the Path Ops Builder, sequential calls to Simplify, and SkRegions for some number of rotated ovals.

Some tests caused path ops to hang. It was caught adding a loop of curves because the head was not found by the tail. Even though the root cause has been fixed, SkSegment::addCurveTo callers now abort the path op if the same curve was added twice.

The subdivided conic weight was been computed anew. Fortunately, it's a simpler computation that the one it replaces.

Some Simplify() subroutines returned false to signal that the results needed assembling. Change these to abort the current operation instead.

Coincident curve intersection triggered two small bugs; one where no perpendicular could be found for coincident curves, and one where no coincident curves remain after looping.

The SixtyOvals test can be run through multiple processes instead of multiple threads. This strategy allows a 48 core machine to saturate all cores at 100%.

The DEBUG_VISUALIZE_CONICS code in PathOpsConicIntersectionTest acknowleges that it is easier to visualize conics with Skia than with script and html canvas. This test also verifies that path ops subdivision matches geometry chopping.

Now, that we are subsetting, fX0 is not necessarily less than
fSrcWidth (since fSrcWidth is really the subset width).

Ex: We may want a 10 pixel subset starting twenty pixels from the

Let's rename the width as fSubsetWidth to avoid confusion
and remove the check.

26ad22ab61 Enabling clip stack flattening exercises path ops.
Iterating through the 903K skps that represent the
imagable 1M top web pages triggers a number of
bugs, some of which are addressed here.

Some web pages trigger intersecting cubic
representations of arc with their conic
counterparts. This exposed a flaw in coincident
detection that caused an infinite loop. The loop
alternatively extended the coincident section and,
determining the that the bounds of the curve pairs
did not overlap, deleted the extension.

Track the number of times the coincident detection
is called, and if it exceeds an empirically found
limit, assume that the curves are coincident and
force it to be so.

The loop count limit can be determined by enabling
DEBUG_T_SECT_LOOP_COUNT and running all tests. The
largest count is reported on completion.

Another class of bugs was caused by concident
detection duplicating nearly identical points that
had been merged earlier. To track these bugs, the
'handle coincidence' code was duplicated as a
const debug variety that reported if one of a
dozen or so irregularities are present; then it is
easier to see when a block of code that fixes one
irregularity regresses another.

Creating the debug const code version exposed some
non-debug code that could be const, and some that
was experimental and could be removed. Set
DEBUG_COINCIDENCE to track coincidence health and
handling.

For running on Chrome, DEBUG_VERIFY checks the
result of pathops against the same operation
using SkRegion to verify that the results are
nearly the same.

When visualizing the pathops work using
tools/pathops_visualizer.htm, set
DEBUG_DUMP_ALIGNMENT to see the curves after
they've been aligned for coincidence.

Other bugs fixed include detecting when a
section of a pair of curves have devolved into
lines and are coincident.

e6dd004c1b Fill incomplete images in SkCodec parent class
Rather than implementing some sort of "fill" in every
SkCodec subclass for incomplete images, let's make the
parent class handle this situation.

This includes an API change to SkCodec.h

SkCodec::getScanlines() now returns the number of lines it
read successfully, rather than an SkCodec::Result enum.
getScanlines() most often fails on an incomplete input, in
which case it is useful to know how many lines were
successfully decoded - this provides more information than
kIncomplete vs kSuccess. We do lose information when the
API is used improperly, as we are no longer able to return
kInvalidParameter or kScanlineNotStarted.

Known Issues:
Does not work for incomplete fFrameIsSubset gifs.
Does not work for incomplete icos.

2c3b218f74 Focus SkScaledCodec on BitmapRegionDecoder
The primary goal of SkScaledCodec is to replace the current
implementation of BitmapRegionDecoder, which depends on modified
versions of libjpeg and libpng, with an implementation that uses
standard versions of the libaries. Since BitmapRegionDecoder only
supports PNG, WEBP and JPEG, limit SkScaledCodec to those classes.
We will focus on those three until we complete this primary goal.
Then we can continue to make SkScaledCodec work for other formats.

Fix some bugs in SkScaledCodec::NewFromStream:
- Handle a NULL input stream properly
- Ensure that the input stream is deleted as expected on bad data

Add tests for these error cases.

drawImage calls now properly embeds the original jpeg.

NOTE: drawBitmap*() calls no longer embed JPEG files when
possible (this is in advance of eliminating bitmaps backed
by encoded data). Chromium has already moved from

    total PDF jpeg images: 271
    total PDF regular images: 3311
    total PDF regular images: 3582 (271 + 3311)

When comparing rendered output there were perceptual
differences in the following four GMs: colorcube, emboss,
colormatrix, and tablecolorfilter. All of these differences
were improvements (that is, closer to the 8888 rendering)
due fixing a bug with colorfilters and forgetting to call
notifyPixelsChanged.

No SKPs had perceptual differences.

Total PDF size dropped from 133964 kB to 126276 kB, a 5.7%
improvement (mostly due to restoring use of JPG images in
SKPs).

46c5747256 Merge SkCodec with SkScanlineDecoder
Benefits:
- This mimics other decoding APIs (including the ones SkCodec relies
on, e.g. a png_struct, which can be used to decode an entire image or
one line at a time).

- It allows a client to ask us to do what we can do efficiently - i.e.
start from encoded data and either decode the whole thing or scanlines.

- It removes the duplicate methods which appeared in both SkCodec and
SkScanlineDecoder (some of which, e.g. in SkJpegScanlineDecoder, just
call fCodec->sameMethod()).

- It simplifies moving more checks into the base class (e.g. the
examples in skbug.com/4284).

BUG=skia:4175
BUG=skia:4284

=====================================================================

SkScanlineDecoder.h/.cpp:
Removed.

SkCodec.h/.cpp:
Add methods, enums, and variables which were previously in
SkScanlineDecoder.
Default fCurrScanline to -1, as a sentinel that start has not been
called.

General changes:
Convert SkScanlineDecoders to SkCodecs.

General changes in SkCodec subclasses:
Merge SkScanlineDecoder implementation into SkCodec. Most (all?) owned
an SkCodec, so they now call this-> instead of fCodec->.

SkBmpCodec.h/.cpp:
Replace the unused rowOrder method with an override for
onGetScanlineOrder.
Make getDstRow const, since it is called by onGetY, which is const.

SkCodec_libpng.h/.cpp:
Make SkPngCodec an abstract class, with two subclasses which handle
scanline decoding separately (they share code for decoding the entire
image). Reimplement onReallyHasAlpha so that it can return the most
recent result (e.g. after a scanline decode which only decoded part
of the image) or a better answer (e.g. if the whole image is known to
be opaque).
Compute fNumberPasses early, so we know which subclass to instantiate.
Make SkPngInterlaceScanlineDecoder use the base class' fCurrScanline
rather than a separate variable.

CodexTest.cpp:
Add tests for the state changes in SkCodec (need to call start before
decoding scanlines; calling getPixels means that start will need to
be called again before decoding more scanlines).
Add a test which decodes in stripes, currently only used for an
interlaced PNG.

TODO: Add tests for onReallyHasAlpha.

449d9b7e2d simplify code in SkRecords.h
- use C++11 features ({} init, move constructors) to eliminate the need
     for explicit constructors
   - collapse RECORD0...RECORD8 into just one RECORD macro

Removing member detectors makes this code significantly less fragile.

This exposes a few places where we didn't really think through what to do

8ff6ca6e73 Disable dithering in libjpeg-turbo for 565 decodes
libjpeg-turbo turns on dithering by default. When we
decode to RGBA, it uses Floyd-Steinberg dithering -
consistent with the libjpeg6b gold standard,

When we decode to 565, it uses ordered dithering. Ordered
dithering for 565 is not part of the 6b standard (libjpeg6b
doesn't even support 565) and is causing us a number of
issues:
(1) Ordered dithering + nearest neighbor sampling is
causing checkerboard visual artifacts in some outputs.
(2) The ordered dither function in libjpeg-turbo actually
behaves differently depending on the alignment of the
memory that it decodes into. This means that two image
decodes that should be identical may look different just
because they decode into different memory blocks. This
was causing some diffs on Gold with the scanline_subset
test that were causing me some confusion.
(3) Maybe not the best evidence, but visually I can't tell
a difference with and without dithering (except when
nearest neighbor scaling causes the checkerboard artifact).
(4) Turning off dithering should be a more significant
performance improvement than you might expect.
libjpeg-turbo has SIMD color conversions to 565, but when
dithering is on, it defaults to scalar code.

This CL should make every jpeg decode to 565 on Gold look
slightly different.  Yay!

2ac6793efc Revert of Port uses of SkLazyPtr to SkOncePtr. (patchset #7 id:110001 of https://codereview.chromium.org/1322933005/ )
Reason for revert:
Breaks Chrome roll.

obj/skia/ext/skia_chrome.skia_memory_dump_provider.o
does not have -I include/private on its include path, but transitively includes SkMessageBus.h.

Original issue's description:

62fb1ba178 more zero-length changes for svg compatibility
If a path contains a moveTo followed by a line or curve,
even if the line or curve has no length, SVG expects
the end caps to draw if the cap style is round or square.

Fredrik Söderquist attached a patch to the chrome bug
(slightly modified here) that fixes layout test failures
resulting from deleting special-case code in SVG
dealing with zero-length path segments.

a1254acdb3 Port uses of SkLazyPtr to SkOncePtr.
This gives SkOncePtr a non-trivial destructor that uses std::default_delete
by default. This is overrideable, as seen in SkColorTable.

SK_DECLARE_STATIC_ONCE_PTR still just leaves its pointers hanging at EOP.

925979f733 Make SkGraphics::Term a no-op, stop calling it.
I'd remove it entirely but Android is calling it explicitly.

The one gpu include change is just to fix swap in implementation.
