973d92cf91 SampleApp: Remove SkWindow::setColorType
Remove SkWindow::setColorType, it is used wrong and inconsistently.

The color type is actually property of window backbuffer, used when the
window is painted with software. This is as opposed to a generic window
property that would affect all operation.

Similar to MSAA sample count for window GPU backbuffer, the bitmap
backbuffer color type should be a parameter of "attach" or "create
window" functions, should this property ever be added back.

The apps use the call wrong, setting the type as kRGBA_8888
or kBGRRA_8888 without no apparent rationale. These color types
are incorrect, as the raster surface can not work with these.

Reorganize the SkWindow::resize, since no change in SkWindow backbuffer size does not neccessarily mean that SkView would not need the call.

Do not show the sw backbuffer color type in SampleApp title, as
it does not really provide any information. On small screens,
kBGRA_8888_ColorType fills up the whole title.

8686a5eeef SampleApp: remove Picture_DeviceType
Remove Picture_DeviceType from SampleApp SampleWindow DeviceType
enumeration.

Use a bool variable to control whether the drawing happens via
MultiPictureDraw.

The MultiPictureDraw mode can be activated by 'M', and title
is updated to contain "<MPD>". Previously the MPD mode was
inaccessible.

This works towards removing backend specific code from
SampleApp and VisualBench with the aim to move the code
to the common SkView framework (SkWindow in particular).
The grand goal is to be able to use command buffer GPU
API and NVPR in these apps.

0152cc3819 remove 565 effects shaders
This removes the 565 optimization for radial,
linear, sweep, and picture shaders. The
optimization gets little real-world use and
has a reasonable fallback. This also permits
removing the square root table for the radial
gradient case.

9a53fd7c41 Begin kLegacyFontHost_InitType cleanup
This CL starts the process of pushing kLegacyFontHost_InitType-type SkSurfaceProps up the call stack and out of Skia. It:

Gets rid of the default SkBaseDevice ctor. This means everyone has to always hand an explicit SkSurfaceProps to it.

It makes public the SkBitmapDevice creation methods that require SkSurfaceProps.

Removes (in Skia's code base) all SkBitmapDevice ctor calls w/o SkSurfaceProps.

Makes the "recording" canvases (e.g., pdf, svg, xps) explicitly not use kLegacyFontHost_InitType.

Replicates the creating canvas/device's flags on saveLayer devices

a1193e4b0e Make SkStream *not* ref counted.
SkStream is a stateful object, so it does not make sense for it to have
multiple owners. Make SkStream inherit directly from SkNoncopyable.

Update methods which previously called SkStream::ref() (e.g.
SkImageDecoder::buildTileIndex() and SkFrontBufferedStream::Create(),
which required the existing owners to call SkStream::unref()) to take
ownership of their SkStream parameters and delete when done (including
on failure).

Switch all SkAutoTUnref<SkStream>s to SkAutoTDelete<SkStream>s. In some
cases this means heap allocating streams that were previously stack
allocated.

Respect ownership rules of SkTypeface::CreateFromStream() and
SkImageDecoder::buildTileIndex().

Update the comments for exceptional methods which do not affect the
ownership of their SkStream parameters (e.g.
SkPicture::CreateFromStream() and SkTypeface::Deserialize()) to be
explicit about ownership.

Remove test_stream_life, which tested that buildTileIndex() behaved
correctly when SkStream was a ref counted object. The test does not
make sense now that it is not.

In SkPDFStream, remove the SkMemoryStream member. Instead of using it,
create a new SkMemoryStream to pass to fDataStream (which is now an
SkAutoTDelete).

Make other pdf rasterizers behave like SkPDFDocumentToBitmap.

SkPDFDocumentToBitmap delete the SkStream, so do the same in the
following pdf rasterizers:

SkPopplerRasterizePDF
SkNativeRasterizePDF
SkNoRasterizePDF

Requires a change to Android, which currently treats SkStreams as ref
counted objects.

9571567802 remove the GPU checkbox from the hash / database
We decided last week that GPU rendering wouldn't be associated
with the fiddle itself; options in the left bar will be split into
ones that are bound to the fiddle (so appear in the hash and database)
and ones that are run-specific (like the rendering mode).

This will leave us better placed to do things like rendering in multiple
modes at once.

c13bc571d3 Fix SkTextBlob offset semantics.
Implement proper x/y drawTextBlob() handling by plumbing a
drawPosText() offset parameter (to act as an additional glyph pos
translation) throughout the device layer.

The new offset superceeds the existing constY, with a minor semantic
tweak: whereas previous implementations were ignoring constY in 2D
positioning mode (scalarsPerGlyph == 2), now the offset is always
observed, in all positioning modes. We can do this because existing
drawPosText() clients always pass constY == 0 for full positioning mode.

17f0b6df72 share dm and command flags
Share command flags between dm and unit tests.
Also, allow dm's core to be included by itself and iOSShell.

Command line flags that are the same (or nearly the same) in DM
and in skia_tests have been moved to common_flags. Authors,
please check to see that the shared common flag is correct for
the tool.

For iOS, the 'tool_main' entry point has a wrapper to allow multiple
tools to be statically linked in the iOSShell.
Since SkCommandLineFlags::Parse can only be called once, these calls
are disabled in the IOS build.

Since the iOS app directory is dynamically assigned a name, use '@' to
select it. (This is the same convention chosen by the Mobile Harness
iOS file system utilities.)

Move the heart of dm.gyp into dm.gypi so that it can be included by
itself and iOSShell.gyp.

Add tools/flags/SkCommonFlags.* to define and declare common
command line flags.

Add support for dm to iOSShell.

d6043b20b6 Add nanomsg to third_party, with some demos.
This isn't something I want to make part of Skia, but just a substrate to build cross-process demos on top of. If I client were to use Skia cross-process, they'd drop their own IPC system in here.

If you're not familiar, nanomsg (nanomsg.org) is the next-gen zeromq (zeromq.org), from the same author, righting all his design wrongs from zeromq.

It's a lot like the lower half of mojo, dealing with making the connections and getting messages reliably from A to B. Think, better sockets, and it spans nicely across in-process (with zero-copy), inter-process, and TCP.

0a7e5b7554 Add the ability to select a source image to use in the code.
A much farther ranging change than I suspected.

Basically add a 'source' integer to every Try, store that in the database with every Try, add the source to the computation of the hash, and load and use the 'source' value when navigating history.

e3beb6bd7d SkNonCopyable should be used with private inheritance.
This is mostly s/public SkNoncopyable/SkNoncopyable/g.

Two classes (SkDrawLooper::Context and SkPicture::OperationList) don't actually work with SkNoncopyable because they introduce a virtual destructor. I added SkNoncopyableVirtual to make them work as intended. Sort of questionable whether they really need to be noncopyable in the first place, but I guess it doesn't hurt to keep the behavior the same.

0a2bf90dcc Factory methods for heap-allocated SkPathEffect and SkXfermode objects.
This is part of an effort to ensure that all SkPaint effects can only be
allocated on the heap.

This patch makes the constructors of SkPathEffect, SkXfermode and
their subclasses non-public and instead provides factory methods for
creating these objects on the heap. We temporarily keep the constructors
of the following classes public to not break Chrome/Blink:

SkXfermode
SkCornerPathEffect
SkDashPathEffect

36026de644 Simplify SkPdfTokenLooper behavior.
Instead of passing a pointer to a pointer to a NULL looper, which can
then be set to point to a new looper (which then must be looped and
deleted), pass a pointer to the current looper. Each function can then
create a looper based on the parent (on the stack) and call loop()
itself.

Remove setUp(). Now that there is a pointer to the parent at creation
time, there is no need for this function.

Modify the constructors to only provide ones that are needed.

Add documentation.

5092adc546 Separate and update PDF_DIFF_TRACE_IN_PNG
Move its functionality out of readToken() and into its own class.
Callers of the previous readToken() now call
SkPdfNativeTokenizer::readToken(), which in turn calls a function
for writing the diff to a file, if the caller requests it and
PDF_TRACE_DIFF_IN_PNG is defined.

Do not attempt to draw a diff for compatibility sections, which we
do not draw.

Use SkString to handle string manipulation.

Hide globals only used by PDF_TRACE_DIFF_IN_PNG behind that flag.

Remove hasVisualEffects, which always returns true.

Rename gLastOpKeyword to gOpCounter for clarity.

In SkPdfNativeTokenizer, set fEmpty to true when the entire stream
has been read.

Use SkBitmap::copyTo instead of manually copying an SkBitmap.

248647cebb Restructuring of PdfViewer code.
The only change in behavior is that SkPdfAllocator on SkPdfContext is
no longer allocated on the heap.

In general, I have just moved code.

SkPdfContext:
Inherit from SkNoncopyable.
Make SkPdfContext directly own fTmpPageAllocator. fTmpPageAllocator is
created when SkPdfContext is, and destroyed at the same time as well,
so there is no reason for the extra allocation.
Add the function parseStream. This eliminates code duplication, and
allows making fTmpPageAllocator private.
Move PdfMainLooper into the implementation file, since it is now only
used by parseStream.
Move SkTDictWithDefaultConstructor and render stats info here, in
support of PdfMainLooper.

SkPdfTokenLooper:
Rename PdfTokenLooper to SkPdfTokenLooper.
Move readToken here, unchanged.
Remove tokenizer(), which is unused.

SkPdfNativeDoc:
Remove tokenizerOfPage and tokenizerOfBuffer, which are unused.

SkPdfOps:
Move gPdfOps and PdfOperatorRenderer into a header file (hidden for
now), so they can be accessed by both SkPdfRenderer.cpp and
SkPdfContext.cpp.

SkPdfRenderer:
Harvest things into other files:
PdfMainLooper (and the code that calls it) -> SkPdfContext.
readToken -> SkPdfTokenLooper.

909228992c Pdfviewer refactoring.
Mostly superficial changes, to help me make sure I understand the
code while making modifications.

SkPdfRenderer:
First class I'm modifying. Move it into include/ and src/ directories.
Inherit from SkNoncopyable.
Replace load() with factory function which returns NULL if the load
fails.
Remove unload() and loaded(), which no longer make sense, since the
factory will return NULL on a failure to load, and unload() happens
on destruction.
Use a const char* for loading a PDF, following the convention of
SkStream::NewFromFile.
Remove unnecessary call to sqrt in SkPDFNativeRenderToBitmap.
Also in SkPDFNativeRenderToBitmap, use an appropriate SkScalar macro
to convert to an integer.
Use this-> when calling member functions.

pdf_viewer_main.cpp:
Call the new interface for SkPdfRenderer.

gyp files:
Refer to the new location of SkPdfRenderer.

Obviously these are all currently function pointers of type T(*)(P) for various

also lets us register things like primitives, which is conceivable useful.

b8b705b1b9 Add new vertex attribute array specification.
This changes the old method of setting vertex layout to a new one where we
specify vertex attribute data separately from attribute bindings (i.e. program
functionality). Attribute data is now set up via an array of generic attribute
types and offsets, and this is mapped to the old program functionality by
setting specific attribute indices. This allows us to create more general
inputs to shaders.

74dda9018e This takes the convex path tesselator from the Android code and hooks it into a
GrPathRenderer. GrAndroidPathRenderer is activated by gyp flag 'skia_android_path_rendering'.

A few changes to get this to work:
- Had to change SkPaint* param to SkStrokeRec& in ConvexPathVertices()
- Had to copy the vertex buffer created by the Android code to GrDrawTarget-generated vertex buffer, and convert float alpha to GrColor for AA paths

05af1afd42 eliminate all warnings in non-thirdparty code on mac
Most of these issues were due to functions whose definitions appear in header files; I changed those functions to be 'static inline' instead of just 'static' or 'inline', which kills the warning for such functions.

Other functions that were static or anonymous-namespaced but were unused in cpp files were probably called at some point but are no longer; someone who knows more than I do should probably scrub all the functions I either deleted or #if 0'ed out and make sure that the right thing is happening here.

Lots of unused variables removed, and one nasty const issue handled.

There remains a single warning in thirdparty/externals/cityhash/src/city.cc on line 146 related to a signed/unsigned mismatch. I don't know if we have control over this library so I didn't fix this one, but perhaps someone could do something about that one.

e3453cbd20 This CL introduces a new path renderer.
Here are the characteristics :
- It uses the original path, before stroking
- It supports traight lines only (no curves)
- It supports butt or square caps only
- It supports miter or bevel joins only
- No AA support
Support for these will be added step by step later on.

A first pass at the benchmarks on my linux machine gave me these approximate speed improvements (running all bench with the option '--forceAA 0') :
path_stroke_small_long_line 4X
path_stroke_small_sawtooth 4X
path_stroke_big_rect 4X
path_stroke_small_rect 6X
path_stroke_big_triangle 4X
path_stroke_small_triangle 10X
lines_1_BW 1.5X
dashline_2_square 1.5X
dashline_1_square 1.5X

Also note that I can't submit this code until GrDrawTarget::isOpaque() is implemented, unless I just disable my renderer completely for now.

BUG=chromium:135111
TEST=The following gms are affected and may require rebaselining : lineclosepath, linepath, strokes_poly
